Guest UserThe RCL was a complete surprise to me the junior suite was recently updated and was amazing, so much space with a great fireplace, large comfortable bed, attractive furnishings, coffee, fridge, ironing board, lovely robes and a swimming pool and steam room with little gym plus free apples and flavoured water in reception, would definitely stay again. Plus the only downside was the underground parking which costs $20 per night

Anonymous UserThe receptionist was very cheerful and the room was very clean! It is also located conveniently in Downtown Calgary. However, the temperature of the shower can be a bit tricky to adjust as it will either be too hot or too cold. But I was very satisfied overall and would recommend this hotel to fellow solo travellers!

Anonymous UserThis hotel is conveniently located near the airport. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was spotless. There's plenty of parking available, which is great for drivers, and you'll find a good variety of restaurants nearby for dining options.

Guest UserNot our first time staying here -but we left with a sense of frustration today!
It began when the front desk couldn’t find our reservation - twice ! (despite a phone call 2 hours prior to check in). Had to take my driver’s licence and go “somewhere to talk to someone in the back” - then he came back (after 2 or so
minutes) and “magically” the reservation had been found. Unnerving for my identification to disappear from my sight. No explanation offered.
Frustrated again at check out when the desk clerk tried to charge us for something from the snack bar in our room - we had literally left our room 2 minutes before. Couldn’t tell us what item we had “consumed” (we hadn’t consumed anything - especially at those prices!) and then when asked how they could possibly know within 2 minutes (of us leaving our room) that an item had been consumed - they became very defensive and couldn’t actually answer the question of “how do you know what to charge us for” and the response was “it’s for the report at the end of the day - no one is saying you actually took anything”. Except that’s exactly what the desk clerk said the charge was going to be for - “an item from the snack bar for a total of $4.20”.
After challenging the charge we were told that no charge would be put through on the credit card.
Made to feel like we had “stolen” something when we asked for further clarification on the charge.
“No apologies or thank you for staying with us”.
Disappointing.
Side note - Service in the casino was great - including the restaurant.

Guest UserThe hotel facilities are quite new, the environment is beautiful, and getting around is very convenient. The town's bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and you can ride the town's public transportation for free. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is highly recommended – it's fantastic! However, the hotel does not provide slippers, toothbrushes, or other toiletries, so you'll need to bring your own or buy them at the town's supermarket.

We stayed at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino hotel because we wanted to try the $50 prime rib buffet at the Mohave Grill. The prime rib was amazing by the way. My husband and noticed that hotels were really expensive that weekend, so we thought to pay an extra $40 and stay somewhere that we thought was going to be more bougie than an Econolodge. Upon check-in, the staff were friendly and let us check in early without an extra charge. The rooms were clean and neat. The beds however were not the most comfortable, so the sleep wasn't that great. The tub was also not the greatest as it feels like it was made for a small child, and I'm a medium build at 5'3. We have stayed in Comfort Inns, Econolodges, and other hotels like them and we found the Deerfoot Inn to be the same room-wise. We got our stay for $200 for the night and that was without a continental breakfast. A lot of the time I have seen this hotel at over $300 a night. I wouldn't stay here again unless the rooms are around $160, which to us is what they should be. It was a waste of the extra $40 to stay here when you can get the same room at a cheaper hotel with breakfast. Yes, they have the Casino so there is a little bit more to do walking around but still not worth the room price.

I went to the front desk in the middle of the night to ask for a wine opener, and the staff was very kind and even opened it for me, which I really appreciated.
In addition to the room card key lock, there were two manual latches, which made it safer. The vending machine in the hallway was also convenient. The free airport shuttle was also nice, and the breakfast fruit was especially fresh and delicious. 😊 One thing I wish was that the amenities included regular hand soap in addition to facial soap.

This was our second stay at this hotel. Last year's experience was good, so we returned, but this time, the experience wasn't as good.
The negative service review stems from the fact that on our departure morning, the cleaning staff knocked on our door at 8:45 a.m. to ask what time we'd check out. I've stayed in many hotels, but this was the first time I'd encountered such a situation. It was very strange. We were supposed to leave before 11 a.m., so we were fine. This was incredibly unprofessional. I couldn't believe this was a Hilton Double Tree! Did the hotel really want us to leave early? Were they interrupting guests to avoid delaying cleaning? I can't understand if this is something the hotel trains its staff to do, or if it's just their own behavior. The cleaning staff knocked on our door with a piece of paper and a pen to fill in the check-out time.
The room amenities were also less than satisfactory. There was no microwave or electric kettle, the bedside phone didn't work, and the hair dryer was broken (I later had it replaced by housekeeping).
Positives: Clean, comfortable bed, great view from the west-facing window, mostly friendly staff, breakfast wasn't free but had a good variety, and the location was good, about a 10-minute drive from the West Mall.
