Nanjing Yuequnqing·Thai style Tangquan Holiday Homestay

9.7/10

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Racha Mankha, and I can’t recommend it enough! This hotel is a hidden gem, offering a secluded and quiet retreat that truly embodies peace and relaxation. The ambiance is simply delightful, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights of my stay was the food. I can confidently say that the Thai cuisine here is some of the best I’ve ever had in Nanjing! Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Additionally, I indulged in their Thai massage services, and it was an absolute must-try! The skilled therapists provided a rejuvenating experience that left me feeling refreshed and relaxed. While the area may not have as many tourist attractions as other parts of Nanjing, the tranquility and quality of service at Racha Mankha more than make up for it. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with fantastic food and pampering, this is the place to be!

The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get anywhere, with most attractions within an hour's reach. The Qinhuai River is right outside the door, and there's a great view from the rooftop too. The staff's service was also spot on; they greeted every guest who walked in and even helped us navigate to our desired destinations. We had heavy luggage, and a staff member very enthusiastically helped us push it to the entrance. Ordering takeout late at night was also a breeze, with robot delivery. Personally, I feel the breakfast could be improved; the variety isn't very extensive, and if you're staying for several days, eating the same few things can get a bit repetitive. But overall, everything was excellent, and if I come back to Nanjing, I'd definitely choose to stay here again!

Had a fantastic two-night stay at the Suning Zhongshan International Golf Hotel. It was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. The European-style manor, combined with Purple Mountain and the vast golf course, created an amazing environment perfect for photos. The room balcony offered stunning views, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable. The hotel had all the amenities you could ask for, including a pool and playground. Breakfast was plentiful, and the service was gentle and attentive. The whole trip was peaceful and rejuvenating – an excellent escape from the city, and definitely worth a return visit!

Last May Day, we visited the Club Med in Taicang, and the GOs recommended the newly opened Club Med in Nanjing. This summer, I brought my child here for a weekend (three days, two nights) during the school holidays, and the experience was fantastic, definitely a full five-star rating! **Accommodation:** The rooms were clean and tidy, and the housekeeping was meticulous. The cleaning staff were very friendly and patient, always refilling our drinking water. The resort grounds are spacious and comfortable, with excellent natural surroundings. You can overlook the lake from the balcony, offering a wide and open view. **Activities:** There are plenty of facilities for play, both indoors and outdoors. We happened to be here during a heatwave, so we mostly opted for indoor activities. The indoor sports area includes basketball, badminton, table tennis, billiards, and rock climbing, as well as a 'parkour' area (similar to an adventure course) that my child loved, which we visited for two consecutive days. You can also book KTV sessions. When it's hot, you can also sit at the U Bar and play cards, which is very relaxing. Outdoor activities are also abundant. You can cross a bridge to 'Explore Park,' where you can try archery, kayaking, windsurfing, or even the 'flying trapeze.' However, the flying trapeze requires training, and you need to be able to hang from a bar with both hands for at least ten counts. Neither of us had that much grip strength (we could only manage up to five), so we just watched other 'experts' try it. Kayaking was quite nice; the lake water was clear, and there were little ducks swimming around. It's best to go in the late afternoon, around 5-6 pm, to avoid the intense sun for a better experience. My sister and I kayaked together, and circling the large lake wasn't tiring at all. It's suitable for mothers or older children with moderate physical fitness. **Service:** The butler service was online throughout our stay, with quick responses and smooth communication. Whether it was booking activities or requesting supplies, they responded and handled everything promptly. When we wanted a clothes drying rack for our swimwear on the balcony after swimming, it was provided very quickly, which was incredibly thoughtful and professional. Being peak summer holiday season, the restaurant entrance traffic was also managed efficiently; just stating your room number allowed for quick entry, which was very user-friendly. Here, you can shed your fatigue and quietly enjoy your holiday. I'm already planning to come back when the weather isn't so scorching (the 'furnace city' reputation is certainly well-deserved). **Two additional points:** There's an external food delivery pick-up point near the entrance, which is very convenient. I also loved the hotel's lighting fixtures; they were very artistic. Finally, a big thank you to our butler, KIKI Angel, for the excellent service!

Pullman Nanjing Lukou Airport

This was my first stay at the Pullman Hotel at Nanjing Lukou Airport, and overall, it was fantastic! Even though the hotel has been open for over ten years, it doesn't feel old at all. On the contrary, the room was incredibly clean and tidy, and the facilities were complete. 🤩 You can see the airport right outside the window, but the soundproofing is top-notch! 😲 At night, I could peacefully fall asleep alongside the parked planes, and in the morning, I woke up to the sunrise watching planes take off. 🛫 The front desk staff were also very warm and attentive. 🥹 All in all, it was a great stay – it was not only convenient for travelers but also helped relieve the fatigue of long journeys. 🤩

I had a very pleasant stay at The Ritz-Carlton Nanjing. The hotel is in an excellent location, connected to a luxury shopping area with plenty of high-end boutiques, cafés, and great restaurants, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. The room was spacious, elegant, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. I especially loved the bathroom and the warm, sophisticated interior design. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely wanted to make sure I had a great stay. One thing that stood out to me was the communication style. The hotel called me before my arrival to ask if I needed anything, and after check-out they called again regarding the minibar and my deposit refund. I know this is meant as attentive service, but personally, coming from Europe, I would have preferred these updates by message or email. It’s not a criticism—just a different style of hospitality than I’m used to. I was also curious about what to expect from a Ritz-Carlton hotel. This property has a contemporary luxury style rather than the traditional grand atmosphere some travelers might associate with the word “Ritz.” Once I understood that, I appreciated it for what it is: a modern luxury hotel with excellent comfort, attentive service, and a great location. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend it. It offers excellent value for a luxury hotel and is a wonderful choice for anyone visiting Nanjing.

This hostel changed the idea I had of a great hostel! SEE OTHER REVIEWS FOR COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING CHECK-IN/STAFF: Simple & easy. There is a language barrier with most of the staff, but it's nothing a little patience, on both ends, and a translator can't fix. I was helped to my room with my bags. I personally enjoyed the staff and especially one of the cleaning ladies. She was truly a joy to see every day and seemed like she genuinely liked seeing me. They helped when my food order had issues, twice. I was helped getting I was running late for my train on check-out morning. ROOMS/FACILITIES: Comfortable, clean and curtain for the beds. I the rooms are reasonably spacious. The average person follows the general quiet in the rooms so you can sleep peacefully any time you want. The blanket is thick, some beds have extra little hooks. (Would be nice if they added them for all beds) Pillows are decent, towel and locker provided. Beds have North American & Chinese style plugs. The entire outlet system of the building seems to be that way. AMENITIES/GOOD TO KNOW Laundry detergent, toothbrush/toothpaste individually wrapped units and earplugs provided at no cost. Towel/bed sheet change upon request is offered if stay is 3+ days. The main lobby toilets are used buy restaurants guests from next door. The is security at night (not personally for the hostel, for the alley) Private homes are across the way so keep the volume low to quiet after 10pm. OVERALL/PERSONAL THOUGHTS ” I would recommend staying here for a short or long period. Excellent valut for dollars. I felt very welcomed, comfortable & overall relaxed. My only real complaint is the lack of fridge, microwave and a sink area. As a budget traveler it can get costly having to order or go out for every meal is super inconvenient. To be fair, you can ask for your items to be placed in the staff fridge at the bar. The downside is having to wait and ask for staff to get it for me. This was super frustrating when I wanted my food and had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to finally be able to do it. Not to mention the general inconvenience of not being able to go to a fridge at will. Even though there's a laundry area upstairs, many people will do laundry in the sinks leaving the bathroom floors constantly wet and countertops soaked. Not management's fault but could possibly be addressed in the rules. There are days where a gentleman will come sit outside the hostel or the general alley area with Barky McBarkerson his incredibly annoying dog that's constantly barking at everyone and everything. When they're directly on the property hanging out infront don't even think of enjoying the fresh air peacefully . I think there's a way for management to address bothersome behavior to their guest. IMO if management could somehow provide a common fridge and a microwave, they would be close to top tier hostel all things considered. Review based on multiple stays. Enjoy

This stay truly exceeded all my expectations. The overall design is a new-Chinese Zen style, with wooden grilles in the public corridors, marble floors, and warm wood accents. Walking through feels quiet and elegant, with bamboo groves and greenery visible everywhere, and lush green views outside the windows. The private dining rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the dense mountain forests, so whether you're dining or relaxing, you're enveloped by nature – the ambiance is absolutely incredible. The private dining rooms are spacious and airy, offering panoramic views of the garden. The round tables are perfect for family gatherings or business dinners, with complete tableware and a tranquil environment. The dishes taste great, the ingredients are fresh, and the dining experience is excellent. The room corridors are quiet and tidy, with ample natural light, and the soft furnishings feel high-end, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The hotel's outdoor courtyard is shaded by ancient trees, and the entrance is rustic yet grand. Every step reveals a new view, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. It's suitable for both leisure vacations and business trips, with outstanding scenery, rooms, and food. The value for money is exceptional, and I'll definitely be back!

Five-Day Stay in Nanjing Check-in Experience We arrived early at around 6 AM due to the difficulty of booking train tickets during the holiday season. Although check-in was at 3 PM, the staff kindly accommodated us with an early check-in for an additional fee. Accommodation We stayed in two types of rooms during our visit: Single Room - Spacious and located in a peaceful, quiet area of the property. RV Room - Situated near the camping area where families and friends gather around a large bonfire for singing, BBQ, and games. **Ratings** Staff: 8/10 - Friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Shuttle Service: 10/10 - The driver was exceptionally pleasant and always smiling. Since my daughter has asthma and walking long distances is difficult for her, we frequently requested shuttle service between locations. This was especially helpful as ride-share drivers typically drop off at the entrance, which is quite a walk from the rooms and facilities. Breakfast: 10/10 - Excellent variety of traditional Chinese dishes. They were accommodating when my husband requested takeout. Cleanliness: 10/10 - Both rooms were clean, including the beds, towels, and bathrooms. As my daughter’s asthma is triggered by dust, I was pleased that the rooms were clean enough that she didn’t experience any sneezing or symptoms. We all slept well for the entire five days. **Things to Consider** It’s highly recommended to have your own car, as the property is quite far from the city center. If you enjoy nature and outdoor activities, this place is ideal. Activities include: - ATV rides - Fishing area - Playground (note: adults are charged rather than children, so it’s more economical for only one adult to enter) - Small animal area featuring rabbits, ostriches, and llamas (15 RMB entry) - Train ride (30 RMB) The coffee shop has a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic appeal, making it popular for photos. The property itself is spacious and perfect for leisurely walks. There’s also a temple nearby, approximately 20 minutes away by car. **Challenges We Faced** My daughter developed a fever and experienced diarrhea during our stay. When I called the front desk for help, the staff member wasn’t very accommodating and suggested my husband go buy medicine. This was difficult for us as foreigners who don’t speak the language well. I felt sad and helpless, especially when we couldn’t get any taxis or cabs to pick us up. We wanted to take her to the hospital, but no cabs were available. However, the next morning, a staff member spoke with me who was extremely kind and accommodating. They even offered to drive my daughter to the hospital, which I declined because we needed to catch our train and she was feeling better after taking medicine. They drove us to the South Railway Station and thoughtfully gave my daughter bags and drinks. It was a very kind gesture that we truly appreciated.
