E·HOTEL Yizhu Mansion

9.6/10
Excellent

The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get anywhere, with most attractions within an hour's reach. The Qinhuai River is right outside the door, and there's a great view from the rooftop too. The staff's service was also spot on; they greeted every guest who walked in and even helped us navigate to our desired destinations. We had heavy luggage, and a staff member very enthusiastically helped us push it to the entrance. Ordering takeout late at night was also a breeze, with robot delivery. Personally, I feel the breakfast could be improved; the variety isn't very extensive, and if you're staying for several days, eating the same few things can get a bit repetitive. But overall, everything was excellent, and if I come back to Nanjing, I'd definitely choose to stay here again!

The environment is absolutely stunning: Nestled at the foot of Zhongshan Mountain, this European-style manor boasts a massive lawn and golf course. The air is fresh, the views are expansive, and it's perfect for photos, feeling just like staying in a forest oxygen bar. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed: Starting from 51 sqm, each comes with a balcony or terrace. You'll find King Koil mattresses, Dyson hairdryers, BOSE sound systems, and Acqua di Parma toiletries. The bathrooms feature a separate wet and dry area, plus a large bathtub. Extremely family-friendly: There's a castle-themed kids' playground on the basement level, weekend clown interactions, craft activities, bubble shows, and complimentary cotton candy. Kids receive a special bathrobe and rubber ducky, making it ideal for families with little ones. Excellent breakfast reputation: The Lantig buffet offers a wide variety of options, including local Nanjing snacks (like noodles and pan-fried buns), seafood, and desserts. On weekends, there's a dazzling flame cake show. Rich facilities: Enjoy a 27-hole golf course (complimentary driving range for guests), a heated swimming pool (including a warm pool for children), a Technogym fitness center, and multiple restaurants (Huaiyang cuisine/Western). Service highlights: The front desk often provides free room upgrades, the butler service is highly responsive, and the turndown service is thoughtful. A shuttle bus is available to the golf course.

Kudos to the cleaning staff on the 15th floor during Chinese New Year. The front desk, which is supposed to be the hotel's face, was a letdown. We checked in at the left counter using Hong Kong IDs, and after we were done, they asked if we needed help with our luggage. We had elderly and children with us, but there wasn't a single word of greeting. Breakfast was up to four-star standards; not a huge variety, but good quality. The lounge on the 5th floor was very average. They had red and white wine, but you had to ask the staff for beer.

My friends and I came here for a relaxing vacation, and it was a fantastic experience. In the mornings, I enjoyed a refreshing walk along the lake. During the day, my companions and I played ball on the sports field, passing the time pleasantly. The guest room had an excellent view, and the balcony offered a superb sightseeing experience. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too hard – ensuring I slept very well. The evening activities organized by the G.O. were relaxed and fun, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The facilities were comprehensive, and the overall environment was quiet and elegant. Angel Raina provided professional and attentive service. It was a brief escape from daily琐碎, and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

The overall quality of the hotel exceeded my expectations. The environment was quiet and elegant, and the public areas were clean and impressive. Sherry, the front desk staff, was gentle and polite, making the check-in process quick and smooth. She communicated patiently and meticulously. The room was spotless, well-laid out, and the facilities were well-maintained. The mattress was just right—not too soft, not too firm—and I slept soundly all night. The staff were always available, providing thoughtful and attentive service. You could feel the professional caliber of a five-star hotel everywhere. It's conveniently located, offers excellent value for money, and my entire stay was comfortable and worry-free. Highly recommended, I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip.

The Ritz-Carlton, Nanjing

Let's start with the fact that for a super five-star hotel, there's no independent parking. It shares a parking lot with Deji Plaza, and there are no dedicated parking spaces for the hotel guests. I went from parking level -5 up to the 38th floor to check in. There were a lot of guests at the time, and I was already quite annoyed. They asked me to wait, and it was only after I told the front desk that I was an executive lounge guest that she took me up to the 58th floor to check in. After checking in, let's talk about the room itself. The room had a dim design, completely different from other Ritz-Carlton styles. Honestly, I dislike Banyan Tree because its decor makes me feel very oppressed, and I was surprised that the Ritz-Carlton Nanjing gave me a similar uncomfortable feeling. And then there's the curtain – why leave a side window? Before 6 AM, the sunlight streamed in and disturbed my sleep. I was seriously fuming. The bathroom had an odd smell, and the cleanliness was just average. Even the lobby lacked that signature Ritz scent. It seems I need to temper my expectations for these foreign hotel brands in the future. However, I'm glad that after I raised my concerns on the first day, they genuinely improved things on the second. There were staff members waiting at every elevator exit to guide guests, which shows they can admit mistakes and rectify them promptly. So, I guess it balances out. Overall, the service was decent, and they maintained the expected courtesies. The afternoon tea was just okay, and the breakfast/lunch was nothing special.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to the scenic area and not far from both the metro and high-speed rail stations, putting it squarely in the heart of Nanjing. It's super convenient to catch a taxi right outside the hotel to get to other attractions quickly and easily. The front desk ladies were incredibly helpful, and the gentlemen at the front desk were equally fantastic! So warm and attentive! These are actual photos of the hotel!

This stay truly exceeded all my expectations. The overall design is a new-Chinese Zen style, with wooden grilles in the public corridors, marble floors, and warm wood accents. Walking through feels quiet and elegant, with bamboo groves and greenery visible everywhere, and lush green views outside the windows. The private dining rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the dense mountain forests, so whether you're dining or relaxing, you're enveloped by nature – the ambiance is absolutely incredible. The private dining rooms are spacious and airy, offering panoramic views of the garden. The round tables are perfect for family gatherings or business dinners, with complete tableware and a tranquil environment. The dishes taste great, the ingredients are fresh, and the dining experience is excellent. The room corridors are quiet and tidy, with ample natural light, and the soft furnishings feel high-end, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The hotel's outdoor courtyard is shaded by ancient trees, and the entrance is rustic yet grand. Every step reveals a new view, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. It's suitable for both leisure vacations and business trips, with outstanding scenery, rooms, and food. The value for money is exceptional, and I'll definitely be back!

Saw Wood · Independent Youth Hostel (Nanjing Confucius Temple Xinjiekou Pedestrian Street)

Choosing Sawmill was absolutely the right decision! It's a standalone building, with separate floors for men and women, and you need a key card to access them. The staff at the front desk were very patient during check-in and explained everything. You can get laundry detergent and earplugs from the reception. They also offer luggage storage, and the lockers are free for up to 8 hours. The beds have privacy curtains, so you can create your own little space. The bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers, and they even thoughtfully remind you of the usage times so as not to disturb others late at night. The common area on the second floor is great for working, and you can occasionally look out at the big trees outside the window to relax. Overall, it's excellent. I'll definitely choose Sawmill again on my next visit!

Five-Day Stay in Nanjing Check-in Experience We arrived early at around 6 AM due to the difficulty of booking train tickets during the holiday season. Although check-in was at 3 PM, the staff kindly accommodated us with an early check-in for an additional fee. Accommodation We stayed in two types of rooms during our visit: Single Room - Spacious and located in a peaceful, quiet area of the property. RV Room - Situated near the camping area where families and friends gather around a large bonfire for singing, BBQ, and games. **Ratings** Staff: 8/10 - Friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Shuttle Service: 10/10 - The driver was exceptionally pleasant and always smiling. Since my daughter has asthma and walking long distances is difficult for her, we frequently requested shuttle service between locations. This was especially helpful as ride-share drivers typically drop off at the entrance, which is quite a walk from the rooms and facilities. Breakfast: 10/10 - Excellent variety of traditional Chinese dishes. They were accommodating when my husband requested takeout. Cleanliness: 10/10 - Both rooms were clean, including the beds, towels, and bathrooms. As my daughter’s asthma is triggered by dust, I was pleased that the rooms were clean enough that she didn’t experience any sneezing or symptoms. We all slept well for the entire five days. **Things to Consider** It’s highly recommended to have your own car, as the property is quite far from the city center. If you enjoy nature and outdoor activities, this place is ideal. Activities include: - ATV rides - Fishing area - Playground (note: adults are charged rather than children, so it’s more economical for only one adult to enter) - Small animal area featuring rabbits, ostriches, and llamas (15 RMB entry) - Train ride (30 RMB) The coffee shop has a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic appeal, making it popular for photos. The property itself is spacious and perfect for leisurely walks. There’s also a temple nearby, approximately 20 minutes away by car. **Challenges We Faced** My daughter developed a fever and experienced diarrhea during our stay. When I called the front desk for help, the staff member wasn’t very accommodating and suggested my husband go buy medicine. This was difficult for us as foreigners who don’t speak the language well. I felt sad and helpless, especially when we couldn’t get any taxis or cabs to pick us up. We wanted to take her to the hospital, but no cabs were available. However, the next morning, a staff member spoke with me who was extremely kind and accommodating. They even offered to drive my daughter to the hospital, which I declined because we needed to catch our train and she was feeling better after taking medicine. They drove us to the South Railway Station and thoughtfully gave my daughter bags and drinks. It was a very kind gesture that we truly appreciated.
