"The service from Manager Liu and Xiao Liu was very thoughtful. Being Chinese, communication was very easy. They provided complimentary clear umbrellas and trash bags, which was a nice touch. The room was quite spacious; we could open two suitcases. The cleanliness could be improved, though. The provided cutlery, cookware, and cutting board weren't clean; there were oily residues from previous cooking. There were also hairs on the bathroom wall. I'd suggest they replace the hairdryer with one that has a stronger airflow. The bathroom's heater/dryer unit had a drying function with a hanging rod, which was excellent – clothes dried overnight. The kitchen's range hood was very powerful; there was no smoky smell when we grilled. The location is great. It's just one subway stop to Shijo, which is more convenient than my previous stay in Karasuma. There's also a Life supermarket two bus stops away, and plenty of dining options downstairs."

"Although it's a bit of a walk from the station, the room was spacious and comfortable, making for a pleasant stay. I'd definitely consider staying here again if the opportunity arises."

"The hotel's location is decent, especially if you're driving, as there's plenty of parking nearby. The room itself was comfortable, but the cleanliness really needs improvement. The room had carpet, and you're supposed to take off your shoes when you enter. However, I highly doubt the hotel staff vacuum when cleaning, because just walking from the door to the bed, my feet were covered in long hairs left by previous guests – absolutely disgusting! Plus, there was a used towel left behind the bathroom door. The only real positive was the bathroom, which had its own exhaust fan and a drying feature. I could wash clothes and they'd be completely dry overnight. There was also a basic kitchenette for cooking, but I didn't end up using it."

"I traveled with my wife, children, and mother-in-law—three adults and one child. Overall, the environment was okay. It's a standard hotel with a kitchen, which was convenient for preparing meals for the kids. There was also a washing machine and a dryer in the bathroom, which was great for drying overnight. Because there were three adults, we had two single beds and a sofa bed, which made the overall space a bit small. It's about a 10-minute walk from the subway station and bus stop, so transportation is quite convenient. Be sure to confirm your name when checking in; the check-in agent confused me with another tourist."

"I was very satisfied with my second stay at Stay Sakura Kyoto, and I'll definitely choose to stay at the same chain again next time. The location is convenient; it's a 20-minute walk to Kyoto Station, and there are buses that stop right at the alley entrance. It's right next to Nishi Honganji Temple, and the neighborhood is very quiet. A supermarket is about a 10-minute walk away. The environment was very clean and tidy. The bathroom was well-equipped, with chairs, making it feel like a public bathhouse. The staff were friendly, especially to the elderly. If you arrive at the Kyoto Station reception center before 4 PM, you can check in directly and leave your luggage with them. They'll help you bring it to your room, which was a huge help. The staff were very friendly."

"The room was quite spacious and the price was excellent. However, there were some downsides. Firstly, the air conditioning blew directly onto the bed, which caused headaches if it was too strong, and if it was set too low, it got hot. Secondly, the room windows had no curtains, so I woke up every day between 6 and 7 am because it was too bright. Additionally, while the Osaka property had a washing machine in every room and a balcony for drying clothes, this place had no balcony, and laundry and drying services incurred extra charges."

"I had a wonderful stay at Tanimachikun HOTEL Kyoto Station Higashi 29! The location is very convenient, with easy access to transportation and nearby facilities, making travel around Kyoto very easy. A special thank you to Yusaku and Kai for their kind and enthusiastic help ❤️ They patiently assisted us with the luggage delivery process and helped us fill out all the necessary forms smoothly. Their service was incredibly thoughtful and truly appreciated! One very important thing for me was how exceptionally clean the room was ✨ As someone who is sensitive to dust, I usually have trouble sleeping in hotels, but I was able to sleep comfortably and peacefully here. That alone made the stay perfect for me. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto!"

"A wonderful new hotel! The best we've stayed in in Japan so far. The rooms are clean, beautifully designed, the air conditioning works perfectly, and the room is spacious at 23 square meters. This wasn't easy to find within our budget. The receptionists are very nice and helpful. 👌 The room has a great hair dryer, perfect for styling. There's also a fully equipped kitchen and a great coffee machine. The train station is a 20-minute walk away, and the city center is a bus ride away. But the hotel is in a cozy, quiet residential area. The supermarket is a 7-minute walk away. We're very happy! 😊"

"It was a nice hotel to stay and we had a lovely balcony room which we cherished. The room has no daily room services so the room cleanliness is up to you. They have the required tools to keep it clean but after back to back days of 14/15 hours outside trying to make the most of your days in Japan you will most likely not think about cleaning your hotel room! Staff are friendly and try their best to help. They said there was no iron but then the next day I saw an iron set with the staff on the reception so not sure if there was a miscommunication with my request preciously, which was annoying but not the end of the world. They do have free to use washing machines for your laundry just make sure you fully understand the instructions on the machine before using as I managed to make a normal wash into 9 hours of wash and dry and worrying about my clothes 😂😂 Oops! If you are a first time tourist to Kyoto the location will make it very difficult for you to make the most of your day as you will be rushing back to make the last bus as the train lines are not amazing in this location. But if your looking for more chilled out peaceful local life there are lots of great local restaurants to attend and I would highly recommend take a look at 2254 hotel & lounge for a very aesthetically pleasing coffee and relax cafe work vibe. There are no bar or drink services in Dash Living Gojo but you have very close by a 7/11 and Lawsons. Overall enjoyed the room and the atmosphere of the location but it’s probably not ideal if you are planning a very intense tourist heavy itinerary for Kyoto."

"Highly recommended! This hotel is incredibly comfortable, very new, and spacious. The service is also very polite! The coffee machine downstairs offers free matcha lattes, which I made sure to drink every day!"
