Amazing
GGuest UserThis place is AMAZING for its price point. Everything is sparkling clean and quite new. The location is amazing as it is just next to the metro station. It is also quite close to the bus station and that's important as buses are way more convenient than trains in Kyoto. For food, there are cheap franchised restaurants around and 7-eleven right opposite. In terms of service, the staff there are friendly, polite, and accommodating. The shared bathrooms and the bedrooms are clean. There is nothing more I could ask for! AMAZING STAY.

JJulianto Chuen+ this hotel 01 station only from Kyoto Station, using metro and stop at Koji Station , and then walking about 15minutes to the hotel + The easy way to reach this hotel is using bus, and stop at Kujo Omiya. Many bus have direct route to Gion, and other tourist spot (about 30 minutes riding). Please take a notes, this hotel is not in tourist area, very quiet and you will meet with many local people here. + this hotel have a concierge and standby staff, so you can keep the luggage before checkin. + this hotel is very new, i think maybe open early 2026, when we proceed for the check in, the hotel staff gave us some welcoming gift, and we can saw many flowers buoquet there. And the good news, yes they have an elevator, so no issue for thise who bring big luggage + Room very clean and tidy. We book for 03 persons, and they prepare room with 04 twin beds (separate 02 rooms). Inside room have bathtub, laundry, kitchen + equipment, and 01 dining table. + I think maybe this is the best hotel we stay at Japan. Very modern, all brand new, many USB port inside the room, wifi connection is strong, really quiet and really convenient for stay + around 05 minutes walking, you will find japanese ramen noodle resto, and also local mini market. - a little bit troublesome for communicate with the hotel staff, because when we want to make sure about Yamato Delivery Service to this hotel, it was so hard to reach to hotel staff throung phone / email. When we asking to the hotel staff about this, they said they not receiving any chat from the trip.com / ******* platform. I dont know where is the issue, maybe because this hotel very new or they are not ready yet for the online communication Please take a notes that you have to pay kyoto city tax. We stay for 02 night, and we pay JPY 1.600 total Overall it was a nice stay, and definitely really recomend this hotel for stay at Kyoto.

GGuest UserAlthough it was short, I loved my stay here. Had great quality of sleep. Good base for Kyoto, near enough to key locations, but expect a lot of walking unless you use the bus. Nearest station is Kyoto Kawaramachi which is great for day drips just outside central Kyoto and if you are coming from Osaka or Kansai airport - see my tips below. Pros: great bathroom and toiletries, good water pressure and temperature, smart toilet, TV with streaming services, fridge, desk/stool, coat hooks (handy for winter time), semi-full length mirror, luggage rack, various lights to adjust to your preference, very clean, super comfortable firm mattress and pillows, good soundproofing for light sleepers, great air conditioning (room warms up pretty quickly in the winter), you can also open the windows which is nice, felt very safe as a solo female, can ask for more water bottles in reception, lift was never crowded, outlets next to bed, has luggage storage if you need, near the river and traditional streets for scenic strolls, close to bus stop, family mart otw from station for late night snacks. Cons: can hear police cars or cars with loud engines at night sometimes but not frequent, walking from the station with a suitcase was a bit longer than expected, my double room was a bit cramped for opening suitcase (could not open the front or bathroom doors fully to avoid hitting my suitcase) and I am one person (two suitcases would fit but you wouldn't be able to walk around the bed properly). Tips: If you are coming from Kansai airport (KIX), I recommend you take the airport limousine to Namba (bought a return ticket since it is cheaper). It drops you outside JR Namba station, you can go inside to get to the metro station, follow signs for the red Midosuji Line. Board the train to Umeda. Stay inside the station and follow signs for Osaka-Umeda or the brown Hankyu-Kyoto line. This line goes directly to Kyoto Kawaramachi station. When stations, always look for the lift signs if you have luggages. I think I took the lift closest to Exit 4, and it brings you up to a department store. You kinda have to walk through and get out. If you walk out the front entrance, there are a few steps, but if you go to the side doors, it has a slope to avoid carrying suitcases. It's a straight walk from the station. Unless you are doing day trips, Kyoto city buses are a lot better mode of transport in my opinion.

GGuest UserThis hotel offers incredible value for money! It's super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto JR Station. The streets on both sides of the hotel are lined with small restaurants and pubs, and there's a medium-sized drug store (Don Quijote) at the corner. The room was clean and tidy, and we could see Kyoto Tower right from our window. I especially recommend the hotel's shampoo – it's really good! 😊 The room was spacious enough for two adults and two 28-inch suitcases, with plenty of room to spare. There are USB charging ports by the bed. There's no kettle in the room, so you'll need to bring your own and an adapter. The breakfast on the first floor is a set meal, costing around 60 RMB per person. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserI recently stayed at this hotel and overall, I would definitely rate it as a solid 4-star experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive, which immediately set a positive tone for my stay. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I appreciated how clearly everything was explained. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and I had no trouble getting a good night’s sleep. The décor was modern and tasteful, and all the basic amenities were provided, including toiletries, a coffee machine, and reliable Wi-Fi. Housekeeping did a great job each day, keeping everything tidy and replenished. One of the highlights of the hotel was its facilities. The common areas were clean and nicely designed, and there was a relaxing atmosphere throughout the property. The breakfast was also quite good, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. While it wasn’t the most luxurious breakfast I’ve ever had, it was definitely above average and satisfying. The location of the hotel was another strong point. It was conveniently situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation. This made getting around very simple and added a lot of value to the overall experience. That said, there were a few minor areas that could be improved. At times, service could be slightly slow during busy hours, and a few small details in the room showed slight wear. However, these issues were not major and did not significantly affect my stay. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money and provides a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It may not be perfect, but it certainly meets the expectations of a 4-star hotel. I would happily recommend it to others and would consider staying here again in the future

GGuest UserNice small hotel, they give you umbrella and asked you to keep in your room throughout your stay and only give them back before check out. We came in September so its either scorching hot or raining. It wasn't raining when we were there but hotttt. So the umbrellas are our savior. They have luggage storage, so we left our luggage on our arrival (check in at 3 or 4pm) so we roamed around and came back later at night. At 12MN they will close the door and you need to use the password (they'll let you know beforehand obviously). We came back around 10 or 11pm and all our lugagges were already in our designated room, so convenient. The room is not so small neither very spacious. Just nice for us both, we took turn to open our lugagge. And we didn't shop much in Kyoto. Our iron unfortunately broke when we arrived in Japan. So day 1 in Kyoto we didn't managed to get the iron since another guest already using it (we checked in at night) but the next day the staff kindly went to the other guest room and take iron after they finished using it and sent to our room. We were so grateful. We went to the Kyoto Kawaramachi Station by cab. Since we didn't download the GOtaxi App nor Didi before arriving in Japan, we cannot register the app since they required phone number to send confirmation (we used esim) so we just waived the cab by the road and took about 5-10min to get one. We planned to transport our luggage to Osaka on the same day from Kyoto but we missed the time. You need to send the luggages to the designated (not all Yamato centers offer same day delivery service) Yamato Transport Service Center before 10am for the same day delivery service. We arrived around 10:40am so we got into another cab to the station and bring all of our lugagges with us on the Shinkasen.

DDr.p3pp3rI stayed here in a double room and overall had a pretty good experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and both the air conditioning and heater worked very well. One thing that really stood out was the bathroom — the bathtub was much larger than what you usually get in Japan. I’m a tall person, and I could actually sit down and lie back comfortably, which is rare. Most hotel baths feel very small, but this one felt closer to around 1.4m in length, which made having a bath genuinely enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job — the bed was made every day with fresh sheets. Wi-Fi was also very fast, which was a big plus. Amenities were decent, and you can pick up extra items if you need them. Check-in is a bit late at 3pm, which I didn’t love, but that’s balanced out by an 11am checkout. Having that extra time in the morning made it feel worth it overall. I did have a couple of negatives. The strangest one was finding an old sock behind the TV when I arrived. It was very obvious and not hidden, so I’m not sure how it was missed during cleaning. It was a bit gross, but I just left it. Another downside was the mini fridge — it’s more like a cooler than a real fridge. It keeps drinks from getting warm, but they don’t get properly cold. In summer, this really wouldn’t be good enough. Replacing it with a proper mini fridge would be a big upgrade. The other major issue was the lift. It is painfully slow, and there’s only one lift for the upper floors. On checkout day, I left my room about 10 minutes before checkout time, and I almost didn’t make it downstairs in time because of how slow it was. That part was honestly pretty ridiculous. Location-wise, this hotel is excellent. It’s very easy to get to from Kyoto Station — just head south and you’re there in about 4–5 minutes. It’s also very convenient when leaving Kyoto by train. A tip for using the subway: instead of going back to Kyoto Station, walk right from the hotel to Shijō Station. It’s on the same subway line, you’ll get on before Kyoto Station, and the train is empty — so you’re almost guaranteed a seat and can ride comfortably to your destinations. For food and shopping, there’s a shopping mall just across the road toward the station with a Don Quijote, McDonald’s, and other options. The hotel is also right next to a Coco Ichibanya curry house, which is fantastic and open late. Overall, despite a few odd issues, this was a solid stay with a great location, good comfort, and very easy access to transport. I’d happily consider staying here again.

AAnonymous UserHotel was in an ideal location and convenient to walk from Kujo station (which is less crowded than Kyoto Station) and beside a convenience store. Staff who checked in us was patient and kindly explained the calculation for the kyoto accommodation tax. We opted for no daily cleaning service which gave us a discount, instead new towels were hanged outside our door each day. The dining area was alright and we were able to find seats at the timing we went though it might be more crowded at certain times. Breakfast buffet had a good spread and the dinner menu was alright. The rooms I got were away from the road so it was quiet and since it was spring time, it didn't feel too hot/cold. The aircon in the room can be set to heater mode. The roads leading to the hotel are relatively quiet with fewer shops.

FFloria SThis hostel it is clean, good location, even if you are 2 km from main popular street is easy to get around. The issues: you can’t really sleep here if u get snoring people as ur neighbors rooms. I ve booked 7 days but I had to cancel the lasts 2 because was really hard to sleep and I was having only ~4h sleeping. And at 7/8 am people are already moving and waking up and because of the isolation of the ceiling(pic) is very easy to hear absolutely anything, any little move. In the first night staying here, after a person snoring so much until 2 am , it woke up go toilet and after it put reels on big volume at more than 2 am, I had to go all the way to knock at his door bcz I imagine it was a guy. The single issue with the mixed floor is this, if you put a girl with only men and they snoring, that girl can’t have any good sleep, if u put only girls and some men but they snoring, all girls will get mad bcz I wasn’t the single one after the first day. In the last night the snoring man wasn’t in the room anymore and they were more girls I ve heard. So if this hostel wants to make a mixed floor then I think they can think of putting only young people with young people and older people with older. Or maybe only 1 floor women and another men and the rest floor mixed idk. They can think of something. Also , there is water dispenser only at 5 th floor! Why they don’t have one next to reception? All the people from down have to climb all the stairs for a glass of water everyday until 5th? And there is the sharing space only at 5th floor where is the water too but again, a person that needs to talk to phone and to not destroy other peace , has to go or outside the hostel or in toilets or at 5th floor… it is a bit of a struggle these things. And for the double rooms u can put a small electric kettle for morning coffee I think and a glass and a spoon. To not get all the way up to 5th floor, if it wasn’t complicated to get all the way up I would have gone to make coffee there too but I tried one morning when I was still not awake and it was a bit of a struggle. That’s all. Oh. And the beds are really comfortable and very soft, too bad I couldn’t enjoy a good sleep in them. And after I canceled the lasts 2 days I didn’t receive back the city tax:)) is not big money at all but details makes the difference.

AAnonymous UserOur experience of the hostel was average, where cleanliness and access of staff was lower than expected. When arriving, it took us 30 minutes to wait to check in, and only one member of staff available. During our stay we tried to ask for more towels, as you only get one upon arrival, and we had to go searching for a member of staff. The hostel has large rooms, that are the cleanest part of the hostel, however there are a lot of older guests who didn’t seem to understand the how to be courteous and decided to pack and unpack their suitcase at 11pm-1am. There is a light and small lockable compartment next to the bed, however because it’s made of wood, any small movement can be heard across the room. If you’re in beds 1-4 you won’t get much sleep due to the luggage rack and luggage rack light being opposite your bed, so bring an eye mask and earplugs. There are showers located on the basement floor but there are cups with flies , lots of hair and we found it unhygienic and off putting. To get into the hostel you have to scan a QR code on the welcome piece of paper to access the password for the doors for your shower room. On the bed you will be provided with a set of pyjamas (do not keep them) and at reception you can take some complementary ear buds, body scrubber and hair brush. There is no drinks or food available at the hotel, and there is a no food in the room policy. The hotel is situated opposite a large mall with several food options and a cinema, which we did attend on a rainy day and the film was in English with Japanese subtitles. The hotel is close to Kyoto station for easy transport to other stations in Kyoto. Overall we won’t be staying here again.
