Aurora Hotel is a relatively new hotel in Ulaanbaatar, located along Peace Avenue in the western part of UB City. It is about 15mins walk to an Emart and it is also pretty easy to book a taxi/cab using UBcab mobile app to get around as visitors.
I highly recommend Aurora Hotel for short visits to Ulaanbaatar, despite it's non-central location. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a decent variety and quality. Khulan Restaurant on the 2nd floor also serves good Mongolian cuisine.
The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were served breakfast in our room during the Tsagaan Sar festival and it was a generous portion.
Unfortunately during our visit, the gym and sauna were closed and we weren't able to use them.

Guest UserFacilities: We booked a king suite, and it was very spacious. The living room even had an extra single bed, which I'd estimate could comfortably fit three people. The bathroom featured two sinks, a separate shower and bathtub, and a smart toilet.
Cleanliness: Very clean, and tidied daily.
Environment: It's in the city center. While not as close to Sukhbaatar Square as the Blue Sky Hotel, you can pretty much walk to most places within 10 minutes.
Service: The service was excellent.
Drawbacks: The toilet wasn't in a separate cubicle, which meant the large bathroom felt a bit wasted when someone was using it.

My very 1st trip to Ulaanbaatar has been made perfect with the staying at Best Western Premier Tuushin Hotel.
Itâs located in a very central and convenient area, just next to the Sukhbaatar Square. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast has a good selection.
More importantly, the staffs at the Reception desk are extremely friendly, professional and helpful. I wish to give 10 out of 5 for their incredible hospitality. In particular, when I inquired the airport bus, Degi not only helped me downloading the UB Smart Bus app to check out the buses but also prepared a small map to ensure I can find the bus stop at night. She also helped us in arranging a cab for work. Bold, a young gentleman on his gap year, warmly received us upon arrival. He even took some cash out of his own pocket when I asked for help in getting smaller notes for the cab charge. Besides, they also speak very decent English, making our communications much easier and impeccable.
I shall definitely come back to Best Western Tuushin for future trips to Ulaanbaatar. Many thanks indeed for all the wonderful experiences and memories.

We had a very late (early in the morning) check in. smooth process. They brought breakfast boxes to the room around 9a. The breakfast was intentionally cold but good. Meat, eggs, salad, bread. There is also a couple of cafes near by to get other food and drinks. Breakfast was included in the price! Rooms were very reasonably priced.

The hotel is very clean, nicely decorated, and its location is great. Many city attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast was decent, and the views were excellent. However, I was a bit disappointed that the hotel had a separate breakfast area exclusively for Korean guests, and others weren't allowed in. I would have really liked to try it.

KitKatKateThe hotel is modern and situated in a mall. Itâs in a walkable spot to good locations e.g. The State Department Store and Black Market. Everything was very clean, the room was spacious and it was comfortable.
The woman on the reception desk was not particularly polite nor helpful - our keycard did not work immediately after checking in. The room was also very hot and the temperature could not be changed.

The spa on the second floor is not fully operational (i.e. the sauna is turned off, probably to save money), the spa on the seventh floor is empty. You can't get a manicure or pedicure, a massage, or take your place in line. No one speaks Russian, although the hotel states that there is a Russian speaker.

lkjidmBefore coming here, I was a little nervous after reading the reviews, worried that there would be various problems, but now I can say with confidence that this is a hotel that you can stay in with confidence.
The price is not high in Ulaanbaatar, and the location is relatively superior. There is a shopping mall under construction across the street, and it is a 20-minute walk from the central city. The hotel also has its own cafe on the first floor, where you can rest for a while. It is more conspicuous from a distance, but it is a bit winding when walking, and it is not so easy to find. There is a sign of a Korean restaurant on the first floor, which is confusing. There are other high-rise buildings near the hotel, but they do not block the view seriously.
It is 4km away from the train station, about 40 minutes walk. When we arrived at around 10:30, the hotel was very considerate and checked in in advance. The room is large and refreshing, the bed is soft, there is 24h hot water (not necessarily available in Mongolian hotels), a large bathtub, comfortable towels, and the quality of the shower gel provided is also good.
The problem is that there are too few sockets. There are two in the whole room, and one is in the bathroom...not very convenient. One is that there is no room service. Because I only stayed for two nights and communication was inconvenient, I did not ask for cleaning.
But overall, it is a good choice for staying in Ulaanbaatar.
