"The location is incredibly convenient for getting around. It's a 20-minute drive to the airport during off-peak hours, you can take the subway to Zhongshan Road, or bus 201 to Changjiang Road, all within a 10-minute walk. The Qiyi Market is nearby, perfect for grabbing breakfast, cherries, or local Dalian specialties. The room facilities are standard. The front desk staff, both the guys and girls, were good-looking and provided excellent service, even helping me with a late checkout until 4 PM due to my late flight. The library corner and restaurant on the 20th floor are great for remote work. Definitely a top choice for value for money."

"Traveling with kids, an apartment-style hotel is incredibly convenient. We could store bread, fruit, and milk bought the day before in the fridge and easily heat them up in the microwave in the morning. While I wasn't entirely sure about the cleanliness of the washing machine, it was still handy for washing adult clothes and then sanitizing them with high heat. After a long day of walking, it was amazing to grab a bath bomb from Miniso downstairs and enjoy a relaxing soak. The hotel has direct access to the mall on the 4th floor, making dining and shopping super easy. The mall is right above the metro station (Convention & Exhibition Center Station) and also has a bus stop, so you can pretty much get to all the main attractions. It's not the newest place, but it was generally clean."

You can find delicious food and all sorts of items just by crossing the street. 3. It's quite close to the Children's Park, which is a lovely spot to relax. Taking a walk there in the evening is very pleasant. 4. It's very close to all the attractions around Zhongshan, and you can reach most of them by taxi for just the starting fare. This makes it incredibly convenient. 5. Although the hotel doesn't have a free parking lot, it's great that they do have a few parking spots available. While it's first-come, first-served, finding a hotel with any parking spaces near Zhongshan is quite rare."

"Traveling with my parents, I chose this hotel and wholeheartedly recommend it! Knowing we had elderly family members with us, they meticulously guided us and reminded us to watch out for steps, providing truly thoughtful and warm service. "This hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! Right downstairs, you'll find the European-style street of Oriental Water City, and in the evening, it's just a few minutes' walk to Venice Water City and the East Port Music Fountain. The room was clean and bright, and Atour's signature bedding was perfectly comfortable – not too soft, not too hard, ensuring a great night's sleep. The separate wet and dry bathroom and the subtle fragrance were also wonderful touches. I have to specifically mention the service. The front desk staff were warm and efficient, making the check-in process very smooth. The breakfast offered a rich variety of options, more than enough to fuel a full day of activities. Plus, the hotel provides complimentary laundry and drying facilities, which is incredibly convenient for travelers. Both the views and comfort are top-notch, making a stay here in Dalian worry-free. I'll definitely choose this place again next time."

"My overall stay at Shangri-La Hotel Dalian was excellent. I was very satisfied with the room I was assigned; it was spacious and bright, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The bedding was neatly arranged, making for a very comfortable stay and a great night's sleep. The hotel's location is also fantastic, making it easy to get anywhere by taxi, and Zhongshan Square is within walking distance for photos. Public transportation is very convenient as well. The hotel offers a well-equipped gym and swimming pool, along with a beautiful garden perfect for a stroll and pictures. All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Delancy was particularly thoughtful, asking about my stay during check-out and giving me a small gift, which I loved. The check-out process was very quick, saving me a lot of time. I will definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit."

"I booked this hotel for my family, and they were truly touched by the attentive service throughout their stay. Everyone was very satisfied. The front desk, knowing there were elderly guests in our party, thoughtfully arranged a quiet room on a lower floor for us. Upon entering the room, they also meticulously explained how to use all the facilities. Every day, the cleaning staff would proactively replenish our drinking water and toiletries while tidying the room, providing warm and thorough service. When we went out, the front desk staff enthusiastically recommended local attractions and specialty foods. There were no flashy gestures, just genuine care and considerate service that made us feel incredibly warm, comfortable, and at ease. We'll definitely choose this place for our next trip."

GGuest UserI had a very satisfying stay! The hotel's location is excellent, super convenient as it's very close to the subway. It's right next to the Qingniwaqiao commercial street, including Dashang, and just a few hundred meters away from the Dalian Old Street Night Market, making it easy for sightseeing and dining. Most importantly, the front desk lady provided wonderful service. She spoke very gently and was very attentive. Our several nights there were very comfortable. Because we arrived quite early, the front desk lady upgraded our room type based on availability, allowing us to check in ahead of time 👍🏻. The room had no strange odors. Even though it's street-facing, closing the windows during the day kept the noise from being an issue, and at night it was completely quiet, so my sleep wasn't affected. The water pressure in the shower was super strong but not uncomfortable, and the hot water came on very quickly – hot showers were available anytime 👍🏻. The Wi-Fi was fast, and the mattress was very soft. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. When we hung the 'clean my room' sign before leaving, we'd return to a neatly made bed, clean floors, and replenished amenities. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay 😊

JJoshuaLThe (apart)hotel is located steps away from the seaside and 东方水城 with plenty of eateries (but definitely less than what you get if staying at 中山广场 for example - we purposely chose to be close to the seaside here). The staff from bellboy to front desk/ cleaning staff is also eager to please with smiles all around, definitely pleasant interactions. On the downside, there was a heavy smoke smell at the hallway leading to our unit, and upon confirmation with the staff working at the floor during the time, turns out that the person living next door is smoking 🥲 this smell did creep into our unit over time, which led me to request air purifier and open the windows to improve circulation. Also I need to turn *off* ventilation at the bathroom to prevent smoke smell. Luckily, the situation improved during our stay (so I decided against requesting to change units) since the occurrence of smoke smell became less (perhaps the resident checked out/ decided to smoke less?). Anyhow, this did damper our experience. Also to note a service suggestion due to the smell I immediately requested a purifier unit, didn’t realize that there’s already one sitting in the unit. I also requested detergent since washing machine is available in the unit, didn’t realize that it’s readily available inside the bathroom. While the receptionist happily agreed to my request when I called to request the items (upon checking into my room), they could have also just informed me where they are located to avoid the redundant request. Also, perhaps the detergent should be placed visibly/ closer to the washing unit instead of being together with toothbrush etc inside the drawer in the bathroom - just a suggestion. Breakfast offerings while great is also nothing to wow about (one of our main considerations for hotel selection is to look at breakfast pricing listed, which is 198 RMB in this case, which is on the higher end, so we were expecting some kind of a wow factor). Yes, the restaurant is located on the 67th floor offering nice view, but the spread is nothing to rave about - it’s your typical above average breakfast spread with additionally a little seafood selection. During our stay I did come across an offer to purchase breakfast for 108 RMB in one of the platforms, and I think the value is much closer to this rather than 198, so something worth calling out. So all in all, good hotel with great location/ views/ staff - calling out the smoking issue (more of a people problem rather than hotel’s, but I would wish/ expect that indoor smoking should be non existent for 5-star establishments, which isn’t the case here), and secondarily the breakfast value. The shower issue (lower pressure/ time to heat) from other reviews is also real, but not a big deal for us.

The hotel's sky garden is exquisite and elegant, serving as a perfect observation deck with unobstructed views of the entire Xinghai Bay. The cross-sea bridge, alongside the vast blue sky and ocean, creates a breathtaking panorama. This fairytale castle hotel exceeded expectations with its elegant and clean environment, and well-equipped, comfortable rooms. James provided meticulous and thoughtful service, and the facilities were comprehensive, ensuring the children were happy throughout the stay. The photo opportunities were fantastic, and it offers great value for money. Highly recommended for families with children.

GGuest UserI arrived at approximately 2:00 PM, and although my room was not yet cleaned due to the holiday period, I understood the situation. I checked into Room 232, the 270-degree sea view room, which was the highest available category at the time of booking. Unfortunately, several issues significantly affected our stay. The condition of the room facilities was disappointing. In the first bathroom, the flush button was loose and partially detached, and there were visible cracks on the wall. In the second bathroom inside the sea-view bedroom, the door stopper was detached and the drainage system did not function properly. Additionally, the glass panel near the wardrobe had a long crack, which made us uncomfortable using the area as we were concerned about causing further damage. Most importantly, the refrigerator was not functioning. Although a technician came on the first day and informed us that there was no power supply, no proper resolution was provided. On the second day, another technician was arranged, but we had to wait for a long time, which disrupted our travel plans. Eventually, we were informed that the refrigerator could not be used temporarily. As my family stayed for three nights, this meant we were unable to use the refrigerator for the entire stay and had to leave items with the reception, which was very inconvenient and did not reflect the value of the room. Regarding cleanliness, the first day was satisfactory. However, on the second day, the housekeeping service appeared rushed. There were hair strands left in the room, and the bed was not properly made — the bed cover was simply pulled over without proper arrangement, and the bedding looked untidy and wrinkled. I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness standards. Furthermore, the booking was made for three guests, yet only two glasses were provided in the room. There was no tea available, only bottled water. Communication via WeChat was also quite slow when requesting assistance. On a positive note, the room view was beautiful, the location is excellent, and the staff who assisted us before check-in were helpful. The room design and view are truly impressive. However, after check-in, the overall experience did not meet expectations. Additionally, the mirrors in the room had noticeable stains. I hope this feedback will be taken into consideration for service improvement. Thank you for your attention.

GGuest UserTraveling during off-peak season, this hotel offers incredible value for money. The location is fantastic, making it super convenient for kids to go crabbing. The service is also excellent; it's so much better than the unhelpful one next door! A big thank you to 'Eason' (Chen Yixun) who brought us plenty of water when he saw we had a large group – it felt great to have all our requests met. There was also a very handsome manager who gave the kids fun toys. Overall, it provided a wonderful vacation experience. The hamburger and fish and chips were also great and very popular with the children. On the first floor, there's even a DJI drone available for a test flight, which the kids loved. The only downside is that because it's so close to the sea, the bedding can be a bit damp. If you're traveling with small children, you might want to bring your own sheets.

The location is absolutely perfect; from the window, you get a panoramic view of Venice Water Town. Step out, and to the right is the Water Town, while to the left is the Donggang Original Point Square night market. It’s also just a few minutes' walk to Hai Zhi Yun Square to see the fountains. The owner is really down-to-earth and incredibly responsive to any requests.

MMomodou89While the facilities are decent, the soft services are severely lacking, and the room service response time is frustratingly slow. My recent stay at the Cosco Intercontinental Hotel was incredibly disappointing and definitely didn't live up to the pricing or reputation of an international five-star brand. The most unbearable part was when my child had a fever, and I called guest services to ask for a thermometer. They told me they didn't have one and instructed me to call the front desk. The front desk then replied, 'Guest services will send one up to you shortly.' So, do they have one or not? Of course, I returned it to the front desk the next day and immediately went to a pharmacy to buy my own. When a guest requests assistance, especially with a child suddenly falling ill, shouldn't there be a clear response protocol? Zero points for that. MM392673****Extremely satisfied with this stay! The room was very spacious, a full 60 square meters, with a living room. It was spotlessly clean, and the bed was very soft. Best of all, it was a sea-view room. The price was fantastic – definitely cheaper during the off-season and great value for money. The owner was also very kind; you meet a lot of good people from the Northeast region. The location is convenient, and the environment is elegant. The front desk service was warm and professional, the room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was comfortable, leading to excellent sleep quality. Attention to detail was evident everywhere, making it truly value for money. I will definitely be back!

TtravelandeatThis hotel's location is genuinely brilliant, right in the city centre next to the Zhongshan subway and plaza, and for this price point, you really can't ask for better. The staff were friendly and helpful despite the language barrier (Google Translate sorted us out fine), and the cleaning team were lovely too. The room was decent and properly clean, I checked for dust and there wasn't any. However, the hotel is quite old, and there was some mould on the ceiling and in the bathroom and shower curtain. It didn't bother me personally, but worth noting, and a bit of spray would be great. That said, Dalian was incredibly humid when I visited in late August, so I suspect this is partly a climate issue. Even my own towels wouldn't dry properly. The place was quite busy, mainly Chinese customers, but they were quiet and discreet. Practical bits: they provide two bottles of water daily and disposable paper towels (which actually came in handy given the humidity). The room also had a washing machine (bring your own detergent) and you can hang clothes outside on the 9th floor veranda. There's a bus stop right outside with direct services to Xian Lu (shopping and basement food market) and the Transport University area night market, the subway goes straight to the airport, and you're walking distance from the main tourist spots like Russian Street, the old tram etc. Plenty of restaurants nearby too. And two convenience stores on ground floor. This place accepts foreign tourists and check-in was quick and easy. Internet was fast but slower in the evenings. Honestly, some of the complaints I've read here seem a bit harsh considering what you're paying. You get what you pay for, and at this price point in this location, I think it's fair value. I'd stay here again, especially if travelling on a budget. Thank you, we had a lovely time in Dalian!
