We stayed at Mount Royal Hotel in Edinburgh for 4 nights. The rooms are small but clean, and our room had a stunning view of the Scott Monument—definitely a highlight! The bathroom was quite compact as well, and the beds weren’t very soft, but for the price, the location is unbeatable. Just a 5-minute walk to charming bakeries like The Milkman, and so convenient for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly sweet and polite, making our stay even more enjoyable. Don’t miss the view from the bar near the reception—it’s gorgeous!

We recently stayed at Novotel Edinburgh for our first wedding anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so special, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with a stunning view of the city. The hotel even surprised us with a lovely anniversary treat, which was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The location was ideal—close to all the main attractions, yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. We also enjoyed the hotel’s facilities, especially the pool and bar area, which added to the overall luxury of our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you, Novotel Edinburgh, for making our special occasion truly memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

Really comfortable and quiet hotel near Edinburgh Castle. Checkin was smooth, the staff are friendly, and the room was spacious. It’s also easy to reach the airport as the tram stop is around 5 minutes from the hotel on foot. The hotel offers secure luggage storage also! Amenities in the room could be improved! I’d stay here again during my next visit to Edinburgh.

This hotel was in a great location. 5 minutes walk from the shopping mall. 2 minutes walk from the tram stop and only 10 minutes walk to some of the main attractions in Edinburgh. The staff at the desk were extremely polite and helpful and even looked after our bags when we checked out so we could go and see another sight in Edinburgh before leaving. The only downside is due to this being an old building there was no elevator available which didn’t affect us but would be an issue for elderly or disabled people.

Nice hotel. The breakfast was great. The hotel was not far from the city center or tourist extraction. Uber could easily get.

A Great Stay with Excellent Amenities Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars) Title: Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient I had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Edinburgh. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the check-in process smooth and welcoming. The room was exactly what I needed—spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bed was a dream to sleep in after a long day of sightseeing, and I really appreciated the in-room amenities like the tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was also spotless and well-maintained. One of the major highlights for me was the hotel's location. It was perfect for my needs, being a short drive from the city center and conveniently close to local attractions like the Edinburgh Zoo. The availability of free on-site parking was a huge bonus and made traveling by car stress-free. I also had a great experience using the hotel's facilities. The indoor pool and fitness center were both clean and well-equipped, providing a relaxing way to unwind. The breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold options, and the quality of the food was excellent. While my overall experience was fantastic, there was a minor issue with the Wi-Fi in the room, which was a bit slow at times. However, this was a small inconvenience and didn't significantly impact my stay. All in all, the Holiday Inn Edinburgh is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting the city. Its combination of comfortable rooms, excellent amenities, and friendly staff makes it a great value for money. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to friends and family.

A last minute booking as my flight was delayed and couldn’t make connecting train, everything was fine, bottom bunk a little short on headroom but fine for sleeping, everything clean but energy saving toilets often didn’t flush but thats just down to water power, Perfect location could’ve better placed with its own bar and 5 mins walk to train station and city centre

Hostel is super cheap and about 15 mins walk to Princes Street, so quite central. My room was ensuite, and the shower was moder, with great pressure. I have stayed here multiple times and some rooms, especially the non-ensuite rooms, have problems with clogged drains, this room didn't! I wish there was a kitchen like some other hostels to make our meals.
