"When checking in, the hotel staff told us they'd upgraded us to a suite on the 10th floor for free. However, the front desk did mention the room wouldn't have a scenic window. My main requirement for a room is quietness, and since it was just an overnight stay, I accepted it. In the morning, I noticed renovations next door, but we were already up early so it didn't bother us. So, if you're told you're upgraded, it's still worth asking about the room's specifics. Perhaps because the Ctrip price was quite low, they might be testing if Ctrip customers are willing to switch to this type of room. We paid less than 600 including breakfast, so I think it was decent value for money. The pool is lovely, and the view from the Paradise Lost bar on the top floor is pretty good; the hotel also provides a 20% discount coupon. Breakfast was quite substantial, meeting normal 4-star hotel standards. The front desk staff who checked us in were very welcoming, and the restaurant staff and bellhops were all very polite. However, the staff member who handled our check-out was unfriendly and had a stern face."

"The room was bigger than I expected, which is a rare find for this size in downtown Bangkok. The rooftop pool is stunning, and having breakfast by the pool with city views is incredibly pleasant. The hotel staff are all very nice, always smiling, and exceptionally enthusiastic."

On 1 April 2025, Beca (Thailand) Co., Ltd., as a structural engineer and Engineer of Record for the Amara Bangkok Hotel, conducted an inspection of the Amara Bangkok Building on Surawong Road. This inspection was requested by Amara Bangkok Hotel to undertake a rapid post-earthquake structural damage assessment following the earthquake on 28 March 2D25 that impacted Bangkok. Background Amara Bangkok Building on Surawong Road was designed to withstand vibrations caused by earthquakes in compliance with The Ministerial Building Regulations and The Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning: DPT Standard 1301-1302 for earthquake-resistant building design, which incorporated data from past recorded earthquakes in Thailand and neighboring countries. Impact of Earthquake on Structural Capacity The inspection was conducted of readily viewable structural elements only, with the focus on main structural members as well as structural components in parts of the building expected to experience earthquake forces based on structural analysis and design. Based on the results of our inspection after the earthquake of 28 March 2025, it is our opinion that the property has not sustained any visible structural damage that would diminish its structural capacity. This means that the building appears to be in an unchanged structural condition compared with before the earthquake. "Service: Not as great considering it was a 5 star-hotel. When I arrived at 10pm, no doorkeeper to help you with your luggage, the front door of the hotel was even closed (but unlocked). My check-in receptionist wasn't the friendliest, no welcome greeting, hard to smile, but got his job done well eg explained abt check out timing, bfast timing, wifi etc. But could use more welcoming energy as a frontdesk. No room service - no one helped you with your luggage. If you order grab, you have to pick it up at the lobby yourself, despite booking a Club room. Club lounge was okay. Didn't feel exclusive and no one checked the guests that come in and out. Rooms: ALOT of the amneties were broken. The switch of the hairdryer was broken. The switch of the bathroom curtain was non functional. You have to pull using the string manually. The sliding door of the bathroom could not stay shut. It kept sliding open buy itself. The bed and pillows were great. The view was amazing. Location: It's abt 10mins walk to Patpong Night Market. And quite in the middle between Sala Daeng BTS and Chong Nonsi. Quite a bit of a walk. Rooftop pool was good. Breakfast: Out of the 3 night-stay, I only went once. It was very mediocre. Alot of pork items and not much options. All in all, an okay experience for a 5 star-stay for the 7th time I've been to Bangkok."

"Going to copy and paste this review as thisios my 'go to'ĺ BKK hotel and I use it repeatidly. Firstly the staff are all you would expect of any hotel boasting a five rating. T4hey are wonderful. Next the location, easy airport travel by train network or the staff will bring a taxi to the front door. Dont forget Terminal 21 easy access and various food outlers close by. Rooms see a wide selection and sizes. Modern, well equipped and always spotless. In my many stays only found one issue which I reported and i was moved in 30 minutes with a letter of apology and free meal! Hotel has small rooftop bar and swimming pool plus dinning options inc room service. My Bangkok base for everything!"

"Although it might seem a bit out of the way, it's located near a BTS station, and the hotel offers a shuttle service to the BTS. Getting to the Grand Palace and ICONSIAM is also quite manageable. If you're in a hurry, taking a motorbike taxi is thrilling and fast. If you value quiet, I recommend booking a room at the very back. The rooftop pool is beautiful too. For the price, it's excellent value for money. I really enjoyed the small food stall at the hotel's intersection; their Thai pork trotters are so good I ate them for two days straight! And those chicken feet... the last time I had chicken feet this good was 29 years ago in Shenzhen! Also, for friends visiting Thailand, I highly recommend buying a package deal that includes the Grand Palace and a Chao Phraya River cruise with a buffet, usually around 300 [currency unit]. The two-hour round-trip Chao Phraya River cruise alone is incredibly good value. You'd never find something like that for 100 [currency unit] at a scenic spot back home. It's truly fantastic, super great value!"

"This is my second stay here within six months, and the facilities are undeniably new and excellent. The cleanliness is also quite good, though I felt it wasn't as meticulously cleaned as during my previous visit. Still, overall, it's very clean. The location is outstanding – compared to other places nearby, it's newer and reasonably priced, which is why I chose it again. It has direct access to ICONSIAM, and you can take a boat or the metro right downstairs, which is incredibly convenient. Plus, there's a 7-Eleven downstairs, a massage parlor right outside, and everything ICONSIAM has to offer. The M floor connects directly to the metro and ICONSIAM. The service, however, wasn't as good as last time. For example, when I asked for a late check-out, they initially told me it wasn't possible due to a full house, but then offered an extension of only half an hour or an hour. Also, my slippers were never changed even once during my stay. I usually came back late and was too lazy to ask, so I just made do with the old ones. There was no bottle opener, which was very odd. When I asked the front desk, they said the restaurant was closed and they didn't have one either. Overall, it's an option, but I might consider a different hotel next time."

"Loved it. It was obviously built from scratch so it was constructed wisely as a solid stay. Best for solo travellers given the open bathroom. Fun location for adults. Decent gym and pool. The only issue I had was that you could hear things in the hallway perfectly, and that's when you notice everyone's poor parenting and culturally-linked shouting. I will definitely return."

"I spent 17 nights at this hotel and couldn’t be happier with my choice for a remote work and vacation stay. The room has a spacious desk where I could work comfortably, and the internet speed was consistently fast. The bed was also very comfortable. I had no trouble falling asleep at all. I’d say it’s on par with the bed at Parkroyal Collection Pickering in Singapore. The room was clean and a decent size, and the shower had strong water pressure. Locationwise, it’s about a 20-minute walk to Sala Daeng BTS or Lumphini MRT. While it may not be very close to public transport for some, one of the best things about the location is that it’s surrounded by many great restaurants to suit different budgets. In fact, the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had is just a five-minute walk from the hotel.Special thanks to Mr. Kelly from the reception team for providing exceptional service and helping me with any issues during my stay."

"This hotel is within walking distance to BTS Ari, probably 5 min of brisk walk. Many eateries in the surrounding area including street food. There is a 7-11 outlet thats shares the same building as the hotel. It gets busy in the morning and throughout the day as the hotel shares common building with offices. Hotel staff team was ok but not much of Thai hospitality. There is no need to tap room card in the elevator to access your room floor - a negative point in term of security. Buffet breakfast spread was very basic. Overall book this hotel if you have not much choices at hand."
