"we stayed in the Sand Sea Resort for 7 days and it was genuinely one of the nicest places we have ever stayed when we arrived we got a free upgrade into a bigger room on the west side of the resort which resulted in us being super close to the pool and the breakfast area which was so good because it literally took 2 min to walk there! the breakfast was incredible it was so good that we were literally looking forward to go and eat every morning, which for us as picky eaters normally isn't common, the range of food was super big especially the western food, and eating breakfast directly at the beach just adds to the experience and it was amazing, at the resort the staff is so friendly that we as europeans were in a shock because you will never find this level of kindness on this side of the world, the things that the staff and all the people at the reception did for us was incredible for example we had to go away in the rain and they picked us up on the complete other side of the resort with a golf cart and arrived with 2 rain ponchos, just to help us make the long tail boat on time. overal our stay was literally perfect and if we will ever come back to Krabi I can't wait to stay in Sand Sea Resort again!"

"Visited in peak season (January) and it was incredibly crowded. All rooms were booked, and Railay Beach was packed like sardines. The facilities are definitely 4-star. I tried both the private bungalow, which was about 300+ baht more, and the basic double room. The independent private bungalow offered a much better bathroom and a more resort-like atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend not skimping on that extra cost. The sunrise and the night view when it's less crowded at Railay Beach are still beautiful. However, I'm genuinely fed up with Southeast Asia. Even if you're willing to spend a lot, the sheer number of people everywhere makes it feel like a budget backpacker trip. Oh, and a point I haven't seen mentioned: currently, the boats from the hotel to Ao Nam Mao pier (which doesn't require wading) are very infrequent, only at times like 2 PM and 4 PM. I suggest just taking the public boats; they depart once enough people have gathered. Also, this hotel is a 4-star, and the main difference from a 5-star is the lack of service – everything is self-service. Come prepared for that. One more thing: if you want to go to Ton Sai Beach, which is next to Railay Beach, I recommend wading through the water from the beach. Just be careful. Don't take the other mountain path! That experience was really bad – the path is narrow, difficult to walk, very primitive, and unmaintained, and you'll get bitten a lot."

"We had a very disappointing and disturbing experience during our stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, money was stolen from our room. What makes the situation even more concerning is that not all of the cash was taken — exactly half of it was missing. This made it less immediately noticeable, but it was very clear to us that the amount had been deliberately reduced. We always keep track of our belongings, and there is no doubt that the money was taken while we were out. This raises serious concerns about security and trust, especially in a place where guests expect their personal items to be safe. We only discovered the issue later the same day, after we had already checked out of the hotel, which made the situation even more upsetting. Because of this experience, we cannot recommend this hotel and strongly advise future guests to be extremely cautious with their valuables."

"Location is a bit out of the way which is nice if you want a quieter part of town. Only a few minutes drive away from Aonang Beach. They also provide free shuttles but only 3 times a day. They also have a shuttle to Central Krabi but it will run only until 21st April 2026. Easy to get grab as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The main facility is the pool, so if you like swimming, this is definitely the hotel to stay. I did pass by a building in the hotel where it does seem like there is/will be a gym but it's not open for guests as of my stay. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable but water pressure was inconsistent but not a huge deal."

"Great resort. I really liked the location, just outside of Ao Nang, surrounded by quiet nature. It genuinely feels like a little oasis away from everything. The pool was a big highlight for me. No loud music, no alcohol, just a calm and relaxed atmosphere without drunk or noisy crowds. It made it easy to actually enjoy the surroundings. The property itself is beautiful, with a pond in the middle and lots of greenery and flowers everywhere. Everything feels well maintained and peaceful. It’s also very convenient, about a 5 minute ride or a 30 minute walk to the main pier. The free shuttle is super handy, and Grab or Bolt work fine too. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and scenic place to stay near Ao Nang."
