Guest UserThis was my first time staying in a youth hostel. I usually book hotels when I travel, but this experience was surprisingly great! The decor and ambiance were exactly to my taste. The front desk lady was very kind, and check-in was super quick. Inside, it was incredibly quiet; everyone was well-mannered and doing their own thing, no noise at all. The facilities were also good, everything you need is there. You don't have to pack much; it's practically a 'pack your bags and move in' situation. If I visit Nanjing again, I'd definitely choose to stay here.

Guest UserThis summer, I took my daughter to stay at the Dream Castle parent-child room at Yunxi Yasu, and choosing this accommodation for our Nanjing family trip really saved us a lot of hassle. The guesthouse's location is super convenient, making it easy to get to Hongshan Zoo, Xuanwu Lake, and Maya Water Park without long commutes, which is a big plus when traveling with kids. The room has just the right touch of childlike charm, with pink bow pillows, dessert-themed artwork, and a gentle, cute vibe. It even comes with a DIY dessert station, a complete set of children's makeup toys, and various plush dolls. My daughter was completely immersed the moment we walked in, playing quietly all afternoon. Downstairs, there are plenty of dining options; my daughter was thrilled to find Cha Yan Yue Se (a popular tea shop), and local specialties like Jiming soup dumplings and duck blood vermicelli soup are just downstairs. The overall setup is clean and thoughtful, perfectly catering to a little girl's preferences. It's highly recommended for families with young daughters who want both convenience and comfort on their travels.

Guest UserThe hotel is right near Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) and not far from the Qinhuai River, with plenty of local snacks nearby. Xu Jia Duck, An Jia Tangyuan (sweet rice balls), and Zhuangyuan Gao (scholar's cake) all taste great. The hotel facilities are comprehensive: the air conditioning cools down quickly, the hot water pressure is strong, the bathroom has a wet/dry separation, and there's even a small table for enjoying takeout.

CW from MalaysiaLocation
The hotel is near Dongliu Station, but you need to walk about 3 blocks (15 minutes). The walk is flat, but in July and August it can get very hot, so bring an umbrella. The area is quiet and feels isolated. Although the hotel is not far from Nanjing University Xianlin Campus, there is no direct train, you need to change lines and make an awkward turn. Shared bikes (Hello blue bikes) are convenient in Xianlin, but not around this hotel. A good option is to take the B3 shuttle bus from Sanyang Road, which goes to Nanjing University train station (walking distance to NJU). Around the hotel, you will find small eateries (like chicken and duck rice shops) and a few convenience stores, but no malls.
Cleanliness
The rooms are clean, but there is a smoke smell that stays for about a day. The staff suggested opening the window and using the aircon, but I also bought a reed diffuser from Miniso to make it smell fresher. Bedsheets were changed regularly (every 5 days). The toilet slippers looked dirty, so I did not use them. Also, the hotel does not provide floor towels.
Staff & Service
The staff were very kind and helpful. They upgraded me to a bigger double room with a sofa and work area, and also gave me a cheaper rate since I stayed for 40 nights. Cleaning staff came daily, bringing bottled water and keeping the toilet clean. The night-shift counter staff were also helpful.
Facilities
There is a washing machine that can wash and dry in one cycle. Do not overload it, or clothes won’t dry properly. Since the hotel is not very busy, I could use the machine anytime without queuing. Rooms have a hair dryer and a lighted mirror. The aircon makes a small dripping sound, but it is not a real problem.
Noise
The soundproofing is generally okay, but occasionally you can hear people talking loudly if there are guests next door. It’s not the hotel’s fault—just that people in China often speak very loudly, even inside their rooms or in the corridor. Nothing much you can do about it.
Surroundings & Safety
The area is safe, with big roads and many residential apartments. In the evenings, families with kids and dogs walk around, and I also jogged nearby. Food delivery is easy drivers can bring food to your room or the counter.
Overall
It is a quiet and safe place to stay, with helpful staff and decent facilities. The location is not very convenient for NJU Xianlin Campus, but manageable if you use the shuttle bus.

Guest UserI chose the Sawdust Hostel for my trip to Nanjing, and my stay was exceptionally comfortable. The front desk staff were gentle and friendly, handling check-in efficiently. They also thoughtfully explained the accommodation rules, facility usage, and nearby tourist routes. The building has separate floors for men and women, and the key card elevator ensures strong security, making me feel very safe even when traveling alone. The beds are equipped with blackout curtains, the bedding is clean and tidy, and hot water is available 24/7. The bathrooms are regularly cleaned and kept neat and dry. The lounge area on the first floor offers board games, and there are live music performances in the evenings, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The location is excellent, making it convenient to visit major attractions. It offers outstanding value for money and is my top choice for accommodation when traveling.

leotenThe hotel is not bad, it’s not very close to metro, but it’s okay. Room is nice and big, but a bit dirty in some places. Unfortunately, there was no washing powder in the room, and I was told to go and buy it. The hotel provides breakfast, but it’s in the neighbourhood building and the breakfast itself was with quite a modest choice

The room is clean and tidy. The front desk lady was very nice when checking in. The hotel security uncle took the initiative to help me with my luggage. Because I had a lot of luggage, I really thought the uncle was very nice. In the morning, the front desk brother reminded me to check out. His voice was gentle. When the aunt saw that I checked out, she took the initiative to help me take my luggage to the elevator. The service attitude was really good. You can also store your luggage for free. The hotel's onboarding experience is very good and worth it. Attached is a picture of the luggage. I'm already in the car. I will stay at Qingmu next time❤️❤️❤️💗💓❣️
