InterContinental DANANG SUN PENINSULA RESORT by IHG

Pros: 1. The hotel's natural environment is excellent, offering sightings of incredibly rare protected animals. They also provide a free wildlife tour, which I highly recommend. It's a fantastic experience to simply walk around the hotel and spot monkeys foraging. 2. The service is outstanding. The hotel staff are attentive and very considerate of guests. The welcome drink was delicious. The hotel facilities are well-maintained, and I received a room upgrade with a great view and a spacious layout. 3. The slippers were very comfortable. The breakfast tableware was exquisite. Cons for me: 1. The claim of being the 'most beautiful Intercontinental' is an exaggeration. Some areas even felt [as pictured], though I suppose one could call it 'unique.' Personally, I found it gaudy. 2. I strongly recommend including executive lounge access. If you arrive early, since there's no air conditioning in the public areas, the only cool indoor space to relax is the executive lounge. Otherwise, you're stuck waiting in the hotel lobby, and elderly guests and children need to be careful to avoid heatstroke. 3. The breakfast was delicious, and the fruit quality was high. However, it's baffling why the other restaurants were so bad. After reading reviews that even the Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant wasn't great, I booked a package that included dinner. I paid extra to change the dishes, but they were still terrible. It was arguably the worst meal I had in Vietnam. 4. Although the hotel was uncrowded and had a good environment, the beach quality was very average, and the loungers by the sea started closing down every day at 6 PM. In summary, I think this Intercontinental is worth staying at, but don't go in with exceptionally high expectations.

This was a hotel that I spent a long time researching before booking. It had excellent reviews and a very high rating online. Unfortunately, my experience was a case of “looks great from a distance, but not quite as impressive up close.” Let me start with the positives. The lobby is beautiful, with a charming vintage design that creates a great first impression. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and communicated well in English. Upon arrival, we were offered cold towels and refreshing welcome drinks, which was a nice touch after a long journey. We decided to have lunch at the hotel’s restaurant. The food was average—not particularly memorable, but enough to satisfy our hunger. The staff escorted us and our luggage to the room. At first glance, the room looked acceptable, but as someone who is quite particular about cleanliness, I quickly noticed a significant amount of dust on various surfaces. I tried not to dwell on it because, for me, the most important thing is a clean and comfortable bed. Unfortunately, that night became the worst part of our stay. I barely slept during my first night. Throughout the night, I felt as though something was biting my skin, and I found myself constantly scratching. It was extremely uncomfortable and frustrating. The following morning during breakfast, a staff member kindly asked how we had slept. I honestly explained my experience and mentioned that I felt I had been bitten by something during the night. I requested that the bed linens be changed. To their credit, the staff responded immediately. They informed the front desk, and shortly afterwards a manager came to speak with us personally, apologised sincerely, and arranged for a deep cleaning of our room. At that moment, I truly appreciated their attitude because they made me feel that they genuinely cared and were actively trying to solve the problem. We then left for our day of sightseeing. When we returned to the hotel that afternoon, I was genuinely surprised. The room felt completely different from the day before. It smelled fresh and clean, every surface had been thoroughly wiped down, the floors were spotless, and even the musty smell that I had previously noticed was gone. The room finally felt as clean as I had expected from a highly rated hotel. As an additional gesture, the hotel offered me a complimentary 20-minute herbal bath treatment as compensation. I thought that was a thoughtful gesture and appreciated the effort they made to make things right. Most importantly, I slept wonderfully on the second night. For service and recovery, I would honestly give the team more than full marks. While the initial issue should not have happened, the way they handled the situation was professional, sincere, and efficient. As for breakfast, it was decent and perfectly acceptable. There was enough variety, although I believe there is still room for improvement. I would still recommend this hotel. The location is excellent, with many attractions and the riverside within easy walking distance. Regarding the facilities, they are all on the smaller side. The swimming pool is beautiful but quite small. The gym is compact, and the children’s playroom is also rather limited in size. None of these were deal-breakers for us, but they are worth noting for future guests. Overall, while the stay did not start well, the outstanding service recovery and excellent location left a positive final impression. No hotel is perfect, but what matters is how they respond when something goes wrong—and this hotel handled it exceptionally well.

Overall, the room was comfortable. The soundproofing was okay, but I could hear people talking when they passed by the door. Also, be aware that the room type shown on the platform has been confirmed with the front desk as a corner room. As for the sea view room, there's a chance you'll encounter the situation shown in the picture – being extremely close to the neighboring hotel, which means you'll have to keep the curtains closed most of the time.

Risemount Premier Resort Da Nang is a genuinely stunning place to stay — beautifully designed throughout and incredibly Instagrammable, with photo-worthy corners everywhere you turn. The resort is impeccably clean, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. Breakfast was a real highlight, offering a wide and varied spread with plenty of options to keep things interesting each morning. The standout for us, though, was the bar: the cocktails were absolutely delicious and the perfect way to unwind after a day out. As a couple, we couldn’t have asked for a more stylish and relaxing escape — highly recommended, and we’d happily return.

Good, frequently booked hotel. The staff are very friendly, and it's beachfront. Yes, the beach isn't My Khe (it's a little off to the side), but it's clean with lifeguards and everything you need. The hotel itself is nice; the pool is somewhat enclosed and not very big, but it was perfect for my daughter and me. We had a sea-view room. Breakfasts were decent, not super varied, but had all the essentials. We also liked the rooftop bar – tasty food and an amazing view.

First of all, I would like to give Grandvrio Ocean Resort the highest rating. If you’re planning a trip to Da Nang and looking for a comfortable place to stay, this resort would be my first recommendation. Our stay here was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Here are the things I loved most about this resort: 1. Exceptional cleanliness One of the most important parts of any trip is staying in a clean and comfortable hotel, and Grandvrio Ocean Resort exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, the towels were fresh, and everything was well maintained. It made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. 2. Delicious food with plenty of choices The resort has several restaurants offering both Asian and Western cuisine, and every meal we had was excellent. There were three breakfast options available, and I highly recommend having breakfast at Coconut Beach while enjoying the beautiful ocean view. The buffet breakfast was also fantastic, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious dishes. If you’re traveling as a couple, don’t miss the Afternoon Tea experience. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy delicious desserts, and spend quality time together in a peaceful atmosphere with excellent service. 3. Great facilities for families If you’re traveling with children, this resort is a wonderful choice. There are children’s swimming pools and play areas, making it very family-friendly. The swimming pools are open from morning until evening, and lifeguards are always on duty, making us feel safe and well looked after. 4. Wonderful spa experience If you enjoy massages, the spa offers excellent treatments at very reasonable prices. There is also a private swimming pool exclusively for spa guests, which made the experience even more relaxing. 5. Convenient free shuttle service The resort provides complimentary shuttle buses to Hoi An Ancient Town and Ba Na Hills, two of the most popular attractions in Da Nang. Having free transportation to these famous destinations was a huge advantage and made sightseeing much easier. 6. Outstanding hospitality The best part of our stay was definitely the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. Most of the staff spoke English well, so communication was always easy. Their warm hospitality made us feel at home and created wonderful memories that we will never forget. If I visit Da Nang again, I will definitely choose Grandvrio Ocean Resort without any hesitation. Everything was managed professionally, and every member of the staff made us feel welcome. Thank you for making our stay so special. I wish the entire team continued success, and I hope to visit again in the future!

My second stay in just over a year as I really enjoyed staying here first time around. Glad to find the resort is still as impeccable and luxurious as before. I really like the room here as it’s big, modern and has a touch of luxury. The breakfast buffet is so good here and the ingredients are very high quality - it’s always a thing I look forward every day while staying here. I made a request for high floor which was fulfilled but the initial room was too far from the lift for my elderly mom and so I request the customer service using WhatsApp to assign me to a different room. The WhatsApp guest service is top notch and I get a response fairly quickly and we like the second room assigned very much, although there is a bit of wait while changing room. A minor point as well is the room toilet do not have shower bidet which is usually standard in Vietnamese hotels. I was looking forward for the pickleball training but I couldn’t use the free pickleball facility this time around as the indoor court is under renovation, and only 1030am slot is available for training which will use outdoor court. It’s simply not doable as the weather is so hot at this time in danang. I hope mgmt can consider different time slot next time such as earlier or much later if indoor court is not available yet. Swimming pool is so much cleaner this time than my first visit. There was algae at the bottom in my first visit that I have feedback to management, and they did take notice and put to action. Also the shuttle bus situation is now ample, we manage to catch shuttle back to hotel from Hoian every time now, unlike before where the bus was always full and we had to take grab back. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and glad management reacted to feedback positively and implemented changes. Keep up the good work.

The highlight of my stay was definitely the spectacular view from the master bedroom of the 2-bedroom apartment. I had a direct view of the Macau vs. Germany fireworks display on June 21, which was absolutely marvelous. The apartment was spacious, very clean, and well equipped, with a washing machine and a functional kitchen. The bed was comfortable and met the standards I’d expect from an international 5-star hotel. The property is showing its age, however. While everything is generally well maintained, the furnishings feel dated and somewhat inexpensive. The hallways in the apartment tower are also rather dark and can be difficult to navigate. Service was adequate but unremarkable, nothing particularly stood out, either positively or negatively. Overall, a comfortable stay with fantastic views and practical apartment-style facilities, though the interiors could benefit from a refresh.

While the hotel's location is a bit out of the way, getting a taxi was quite easy. The air conditioning in the room had issues and wasn't fully fixed even after we reported it. The rooftop infinity pool is definitely the hotel's best feature. Breakfast was decent.

The hotel is large and beautiful, with good rooms, decent food, and polite staff. Downsides: very poor air conditioning in the hotel itself (not in the rooms). It was impossible to stay on the 2nd floor, at reception, during the day; sweat was pouring down. There's a lack of customer focus. This seems to be an issue with new hotels and inexperienced staff, but I believe it's something that can be improved over time.
