Might be the worst hotel i've been to in Japan in terms of cleanliness and soundproofing (latter is actually non existent - you'll hear people talking and watching TV) - but the price was close to being free and location is extremely convenient. I won't chose this hotel next time, but if you sleep well and need a place to crush for a night - it's ok
Excellent location, very close to the scenic district.
Upon receiving the key at check-in time, I went to my room only to be told that ”the room cleaning wasn't finished yet,” so I waited outside for a while.
While it's understandable that the cleaning wasn't finished, it was a little disappointing that this wasn't communicated to the front desk.
The room itself was clean and quiet, no problems there.
The complimentary dinner and breakfast had a safe menu, but the salad bar made it quite satisfying.
It was a great location for traveling by car.
Also, the building had just been renovated, so it was in good condition.
However, there is only one smoking floor, and the smoking area is outside, so smokers may have to be a little more patient.
The hotel is a bit of a walk from Kurashiki Station, and navigating the cobblestone paths through the scenic area can be quite tiring with luggage. On our return, we had the hotel arrange a taxi, which cost 1200 JPY.
The hotel grounds are beautiful, and its location right in the Bikan Historical Quarter makes shopping incredibly convenient. Rooms are clean and quite modern. Just be aware that if you select the 'Do Not Disturb' option, towels will not be replaced. The breakfast restaurant offers an elegant setting, primarily serving Japanese cuisine, and you can even take coffee to go after your meal.
Overall, it's a very high-quality hotel.
Used for a business trip to Okayama.
I rented a car from Okayama Airport, so I chose Toyoko Inn as a hotel with a parking lot. However, because the height of the rental car was over 155cm, I parked at the affiliated ”Marugo Parking Lot” (affiliated price 600 yen from 18:00 to 10:00 the next day).
The hotel is within a 5-minute walk from Kurashiki Station, so it's not a problem to travel by train. There is a convenience store next door, and Kurashiki Center Town is behind it, so there are no problems with eating or shopping.
Only a toothbrush set is provided in the room, and other amenities are located in front of the front desk on the first floor. The room is a typical business hotel, but personally I thought the bed was the best (hard).
The only drawback is that the breakfast venue is right in front of the front desk, and there are few seats. In anticipation of this, in addition to the plates, there are plastic trays for lunch boxes so that you can take them back to your room. They also served Okayama's specialty ”Ebimeshi”, which was very satisfying.
The ladies at the front desk were very kind and helpful, so I would like to stay here again.
Facilities: The room was quite spacious; we could lay down two 30-inch suitcases flat, and there was plenty of room for a 24-inch one on the luggage rack. On our floor, there was a microwave, disposable chopsticks, and an ice machine. The shower had great water pressure, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was fully equipped, and the toiletries were POLA.
Hygiene: Overall, it was quite clean, though there was a bit of dust on the windowsill, probably because it was hidden by the table and curtains.
Environment: The location is very convenient. There's a Matsumoto Kiyoshi downstairs and a Lawson directly across the street. Kani Doraku is also very close, and it's only a 10-minute walk to the Shinkansen.
Service: Excellent. The front desk provided complimentary amenities and consumables.
The nearest station is Tokiwa Station on the Mizushima Rinkai Railway. It's conveniently located, just a two-minute walk from the station.
The hotel overall was very clean, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast and dinner options were plentiful. They were delicious!!
The large public bath can fit six or seven people at a time. When I used it, there was no one there, so I was able to soak in the tub without any problems.
During the day, you can shop at the nearby supermarket. The nearest convenience store is a little far away.
There are many delicious restaurants, so you'll have no trouble finding something to eat.
This was my second time staying at Abest Grande Hotel, and once again, the experience was excellent. The service is extremely good — all staff are very polite, welcoming, and always greet guests with a genuine smile.
We were offered a welcome drink upon arrival, which was a very nice touch. The staff were also very helpful in calling a restaurant on our behalf to assist with making a reservation, which we truly appreciated.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing a relaxing environment after a long day. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby transportation, restaurants, and shopping areas, making it a great base for exploring the city.
Overall, the hospitality made us feel very comfortable and well taken care of throughout the stay. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I had a lovely interaction with one young lady from Jiangxi who even asked if I knew her home province – and yes, thanks to my middle school geography lessons, I certainly did! They offered a good selection of complimentary small drinks. There's a supermarket right across the street and an outlet mall nearby, making it very convenient for shopping.
FFerfer8We are a family travelling with 3 kids so we drive a car, and factored in luggage space.
1) Vessel hotel has hands-down one of the best beds ever! We checked and realised it was a Simmons mattress so the beds really offered us deep & restful sleep!! Love this!
2) The carpark was right outside the hotel so it was super convenient not having to walk up & down diff storeys to take things from car. We returned to hotel ard 10pm on 1 night & there were no more parking lots! We’d have to park at a multi-storey building that was 12mins walk away, which wld have been v convenient.
3) The breakfast was yummy. We went in summer & enjoyed the Barazushi (Okayama special during festivals) & the rice was sweet, salty, flavourful, and delicious with prawn, eggs, eel, lotus roots (see pic). Really yummy! Try it
4) Hotel staff were very helpful! We asked for an extra luggage stand so we wldnt need to bend too low & they brought it immediately.
5) There’s a big supermarket just across the road with cheap groceries that we stocked up on for our road trip.
6) If you intend to drive, this is a highly recommend hotel in Kurashiki!! Wld stay here again! It was great!
我我是逮丸郎We needed parking for this road trip, and although the hotel had some, spaces were limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Luckily, the hotel staff provided very detailed parking information for the surrounding area, which was a huge help! (A staff member with a leg injury explained it to us very carefully.) They also have a promotion every day from 6 PM to 8 PM where you can enjoy a soft drink (they also have alcohol), so don't miss it!
GGuest UserParking was a little confusing. The entrance is not very obvious. It is an open space parking which you need to pay at the machine with exact change at the point of writing (validate the parking ticket at the reception to enjoy discount). 850 yen per day. I guess driving is not encouraged because it is located at the JR station. Walking distance to the different shopping areas. Room is small but clean.
GGuest UserThis was my first time in Okayama, and I chose this hotel. They offer free breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is a buffet with both Western and Japanese options, so you can choose what you like. For dinner, there are two choices: a rotating daily set meal or a fixed curry rice dish.
The public bath is a bit small, but it's fine for about four or five people.
The hotel is about an eight-minute walk from Okayama Station. There's a Don Quijote along the way, and plenty of restaurants and izakayas nearby, so there are lots of dining options. Convenience stores are also very close.
The room I stayed in this time was quite spacious, even with my luggage open, there was still plenty of room.
I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Okayama.
The only thing to be aware of is that there are about five or six steps right after you enter, which can be a bit challenging if you have heavy luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.

GGuest UserThe rooms are spacious and the location is excellent. This is my go-to hotel every time I visit, offering great value for money. It's also very close and convenient to the Bikan Historical Quarter. I highly recommend it if you're planning to stay a night in Kurashiki.
Zzona0714The location is very good. It is very close to the train station, the pier, and the hot spring. The travel information given by the staff is also very useful. You can ask any questions.
Ssally07aThe room was spacious and comfortable. It's close to the station and there are restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so it's convenient. I stayed here for business, but I'd like to stay again.
