GGuest UserI was very satisfied with my stay, it was very comfortable. The room design was well thought out and the natural light was great. The nearby Niujie Baodu Man restaurant was very authentic and delicious; I tried the beef tripe and lamb skewers, and both were great! It's also conveniently located near several banks, making it easy to run errands. Taxis are easy to find here, and the service was warm and attentive.

GGuest UserFacilities: Newly renovated while retaining a traditional style, it's excellent. Cleanliness: Impeccable, spotless. Environment: Right in the heart of the city center, with beautiful views of the Forbidden City and Chang'an Avenue. Service: The front desk staff were very friendly, and all the concierge staff were very diligent and responsible, thinking thoroughly for the guests. When I entered with a lot of things in my hands, a staff member immediately took the heavier bags and helped me carry them to my room. It's a shame I didn't catch his name in the rush. Breakfast: Very rich, with a full selection of both Chinese and Western dishes, and the taste was great. The douzhi (fermented soy milk) and jiaoquan (fried dough rings) were especially delicious.

Llillian_lanI booked a luxury king room for one night. Ctrip stated the room size was 40-45 square meters, but realistically, room 2129 felt more like 20 square meters at best. There's no way it was 40-45 square meters; I feel like I completely wasted over 1400 RMB. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, only a shower and toilet. The sink area was also tiny, not even big enough to put a makeup bag on. For a room costing over 1400 RMB with breakfast included, it felt more like a 3 or 4-star hotel in the 400-600 RMB range the moment I walked in. My business partners have offices in this building, and international colleagues have stayed here before. This hotel is also on the pricier side compared to others in the area, so I thought it would be very upscale. I chose to stay here the night before an early meeting nearby, but the overall experience was quite poor. The room size and facilities are not comparable to other five-star hotels at all. Furthermore, the bar right next to the front desk on the first floor was incredibly noisy at night, like a street food stall, completely lacking the ambiance expected of a five-star hotel. I'm not sure what this hotel's positioning is. The air conditioning in the room was extremely loud, making it almost impossible to sleep with it on. The curtains also had very poor blackout, and I was woken up at 5 AM by the light leaking through. Moreover, when an international colleague stayed here, they mentioned the air conditioning might not have been cleaned, as they started coughing on the second day and were later diagnosed with a lung infection. I strongly recommend the hotel clean its air conditioning regularly and promptly, and provide accurate room information to avoid misleading consumers!

GGuest UserThe location is great, making it super convenient to get around. It's right by the Dongzhimen transportation hub, and close to Taikoo Li and Raffles City. The only downside is that some rooms are near the airport expressway and can be quite noisy. Other rooms, closer to the Wanguocheng residential area, are much quieter. If you're sensitive to noise, it's best to request a quiet room in advance.

SSiau YongThe hotel upgraded us to apartments in a condominium nearby. The apartments are very spacious, well equipped, secured, and clean. The location is a distance away to the city centre, but with private transport, there's no issue. Nearby the hotel there're some shops, and a row of eateries with local food and local prices. The reception desk staff especially Sunny, Tina and Rebecca are warm, helpful, and responsive. Compliments to their excellent service. The only negative point is the breakfast which is outsourced to an adjacent cafe - the variety should be improved. We took the breakfast only once, and make our own in the apartments for the rest of the stay.

AAnonymous UserFor a trip to Beijing, especially to explore the Forbidden City with its red walls and yellow roofs, staying close by is paramount. Just a stone's throw from the Forbidden City's Donghuamen (East Prosperity Gate), on Nanheyuan Street, stands the Beijing Cuimingzhuang Hotel – a building steeped in history, adorned with green glazed tiles. It's not just a 4-star hotel; it's a piece of history you can actually stay in. **An Unbeatable 'Center Stage' Location: Neighboring the Forbidden City** If you're coming for the Forbidden City or Tiananmen Square, Cuimingzhuang's location is absolutely unbeatable. * **Walking Distance:** Turn left out of the hotel, and in about 3 minutes, you'll reach the Forbidden City's Donghuamen. A leisurely 15-minute stroll along the moat will take you to the Meridian Gate. * **Prime Shopping District:** Turn right, and a few minutes' walk brings you to the bustling Wangfujing Street, offering a full range of dining, entertainment, and shopping options. * **Panoramic Views:** On a clear day, from higher floors, you can even catch a glimpse of the national flag fluttering in Tiananmen Square. Cuimingzhuang is far from a typical modern hotel. Built in the 1930s, its most distinguished role was serving as the headquarters for the CPC delegation to the Military Executive Headquarters in 1946. In 1995, it was designated a Municipal Cultural Relic Protection Unit by Beijing. * **Architectural Style:** Featuring a classical Chinese green glazed tile roof, its main gate is adorned with 49 door-nails, following imperial mansion regulations. Inside, the decor has a dignified 'government building' aesthetic, transporting you back decades in time. * **Mini Museum:** The hotel itself feels like an exhibition hall. Downstairs, old photographs and historical descriptions are displayed, allowing you to feel the weighty 'red memory' as you walk through. **👍 Most Praised Aspects: Security and Local Charm Coexist** * **Top-Notch Security:** Due to its unique location and historical background, there are 24-hour guards or armed police standing sentry at the entrance. This provides a 'great sense of security' for solo travelers and families with children. * **Quiet in the City:** Although located in a bustling area, the guest rooms are well soundproofed, and most rooms are very quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. * **Surrounded by Delicious Food:** Step out of the hotel, and you're in the heart of Old Beijing's culinary scene. Jiumenxuan Roast Duck, Fangzhuanchang Zhajiangmian, Siji Minfu, and Menkuang Luzhu are all within walking distance. Some guests even highly recommend 'Bayuan Shuanyang' (hotpot) in the basement, claiming it's 'many times better than some famous competitors.' * **Attentive Service:** The front desk service is frequently mentioned for its friendly and efficient attitude. Many guests have received complimentary room upgrades, and the rooms are clean and odor-free. * **Decent Breakfast:** The breakfast is a Chinese buffet with a fair variety, but it lacks the sophistication of higher-end hotels, and Western options are limited. **✅ Ideal for:** * **Deep Cultural Enthusiasts:** Those who want to 'live in history' and wake up to a view of the Imperial City. * **'Special Forces' Tourists / Travelers with Elderly or Children:** The prime location saves a lot of travel time, allowing you to return to the hotel to rest whenever you're tired. * **Those Prioritizing Security:** Returning to the hotel late at night and seeing the duty officers at the entrance provides immense peace of mind. * **Drivers:** In the vicinity of Chang'an Avenue and the Forbidden City, this is one of the very few hotels offering free parking – a true blessing for those driving!

GGuest UserThis hotel is located in the heart of Jinbao Street in Dongcheng, just a 10-minute walk from Wangfujing and a short bike ride to the East Gate of the Forbidden City. It's surrounded by luxury boutiques and traditional hutongs, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and sightseeing. The European architectural style is very photogenic and creates a fantastic atmosphere. The hotel boasts a rare French Baroque palace design, featuring a soaring atrium, gilded corridors, gigantic crystal chandeliers, a vintage spiral staircase, and antique fireplaces everywhere you look. It's filled with European antique furniture and oil paintings, creating an incredibly atmospheric and Instagrammable setting. Many international guests stay here, and the overall experience is excellent. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Beijing.

SschweinoThe courtyard is serene, exuding a strong Zen ambiance. The front desk, dining area, and other public spaces are located on the basement level. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with many decorative elements featuring lotus themes, which are visually appealing and immersive 🪷🪷

GGuest UserThe location is pretty good, near the financial district. However, this is the first time I've encountered a hotel of this caliber where the mini-bar had no drinks. I was quite shocked when I felt unwell in the middle of the night and wanted a carbonated drink but couldn't find any 😱. I called the hotel (using the number linked directly on Trip.com) from outside because of an issue, and they said it was the main switchboard and they needed to transfer me to the front desk. They were all busy, so they asked me to leave my number and said they'd get back to me later. But I never heard back. These two points really don't match the service level expected of a five-star hotel!
