When people talk about the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing, they often label it as a 'luxury hotel in the hutongs,' a 'hidden gem along the central axis,' or a 'masterpiece of the Qianmen regeneration project.' But if we set aside these external definitions and focus purely on the stay experience, the deepest impression it left on me can be summed up in two words: sheer comfort. This comfort doesn't stem from any single specific amenity, but rather from an overall feeling. Tucked away deep within Beijing's Qianmen hutongs, stepping through the gate from the bustling streets into the courtyard felt like entering a different dimension of time. Grey bricks, dark tiles, courtyard walls, and tree shadows – all elements were distinctly Beijing, yet without any forced emphasis on being 'Beijing.' The design didn't just stop at symbolism; instead, it re-organized the hutong courtyard lifestyle, truly allowing guests to live in a modern Beijing courtyard home. Beijing in the summer is particularly suited to this place. The afternoon sun dappled through the leaves onto the courtyard, with doves perched quietly on the branches. Sitting in the courtyard, watching the clouds drift slowly between the eaves and grey walls, you suddenly understand why old Beijingers always said, 'There must be a tree in the courtyard.' The tree not only provides shade but also marks the passage of time. The wind changes, the light changes, and the tree shadows change. Many mention its 'hidden location in the hutongs,' but what's truly worth experiencing isn't just the hidden aspect, but rather that elusive relationship with Beijing's urban culture. Outside the walls are the hustle and bustle of Qianmen, while inside, the unique sense of scale characteristic of courtyard living is preserved. Looking up, you see the sky; looking down, you see tree roots and青砖 (qingzhuan - traditional grey bricks); occasionally, birdsong can be heard. These seemingly ordinary details become precious in today's city. The service also left an excellent impression. It wasn't an overly enthusiastic kind of service, but rather a sincere and well-measured attentiveness. Help was always there when needed, yet they maintained an appropriate distance when not. Many high-end hotels can achieve professionalism, but it's not easy to make guests feel genuine care, and this place truly has that ability. Near check-out, I had a chat with the duty manager, Chloe. What began as a simple conversation unexpectedly became a memorable part of this stay. She meticulously detailed the design philosophy and spatial characteristics of the hotel's 42 rooms, patiently explaining everything from the layouts of different courtyards to the subtle differences between rooms. One could feel her genuine understanding and passion for this hotel, which in turn gave me a more complete appreciation for this hidden hutong gem. My special thanks also go to Chloe for her insights and hospitality. Upon leaving, I felt that the most precious aspect of this hotel wasn't its luxury, but rather how it has preserved the ambiance of courtyard living in a rapidly changing city like Beijing. Shade from trees, grey walls, summer clouds, birdsong. These seemingly ordinary things collectively form a part of my memory of summer in Beijing. If staying at a hotel is about experiencing a space, then the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing is more about experiencing a Beijing way of life. It may not be for everyone, but for those willing to slow down and embrace the city, beauty can be found everywhere here.

The facilities are very complete, the room is spacious, and the bedding is super comfortable; the duvet is light and soft. All the staff are very enthusiastic. Every day when they clean our room, they restock our Sprite, Coke, and mineral water. Every time we pass by the front desk, the staff greet us warmly. The robot delivery for food is also very prompt. Most importantly, the price is right, and the transportation is convenient. There's free parking and a free gym, and the breakfast is abundant. It's right next to Liuliqiao East subway station and within walking distance to West Station and Lianhua Pond Park, which is super convenient. Highly recommend!

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, surrounded by luxury shops, making it very convenient to get around. The Mandarin Oriental's attention to detail is superb. The understated luxury and 'old money' vibe are precisely my style. The vanity room is spacious, and they prepared welcome fruits and snacks, a bottle of red wine, and even pear soup, along with a beautifully written welcome letter. It truly made me feel right at home. Breakfast is a mix of buffet and à la carte, with fresh, organic ingredients and amazing flavors. I even had breakfast alongside the Russian ambassador at the next table! Sipping a coffee with a Forbidden City latte art design on the large terrace overlooking the Forbidden City, I truly experienced a taste of royal life. So happy! 😃

Overall, it's a good hotel in all aspects. The young man at the entrance immediately offered to help us with our luggage as soon as he saw us. After checking out, a lady in a cheongsam gave a teddy bear to my child, who was very happy. However, there was one strange incident: we didn't touch any drinks in the fridge, but housekeeping claimed we drank a bottle of Alien electrolyte water and withheld a 15 yuan deposit. When we called to inquire, they quickly processed the refund for the 15 yuan, so their problem-solving efficiency was excellent. But it's still quite strange where that drink went. This minor incident didn't affect the overall experience; the hotel is still very good.

• Located on Jinbao Street in Dongcheng District, it's about a 3-5 minute walk to Dengshikou Subway Station (Line 5) and a 10-minute walk to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. • A taxi ride to the Forbidden City/Tiananmen Square takes approximately 5-8 minutes. It's also very close to the Dongdan campus of Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The surrounding area has a wide variety of restaurants and shopping districts, making it very convenient for exploring old Beijing. • High-floor Executive Rooms offer distant views of the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, and the city skyline. The view is particularly stunning on clear days. 2. Outstanding Dining Reputation • Breakfast: A buffet plus à la carte options, featuring old Beijing zhajiangmian (fried sauce noodles), beef noodle soup, and eggs Benedict. The Executive Lounge breakfast offers even higher quality, with champagne available during certain hours. Overall, it's considered top-tier among five-star hotels in Beijing. • The Executive Lounge has a fantastic ambiance with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. Evening happy hour (HH) includes snacks and drinks. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant, Daccapo. 3. Comprehensive Facilities • The indoor 25-meter swimming pool comes with a children's shallow pool, sauna, and massage jets. The gym is well-equipped, attracting many guests specifically for swimming. • Service meets five-star standards, with attentive concierges and doormen. Some guests receive a welcome amenity upon check-in. The standard room size is 45 sqm, which is quite spacious for a prime location within the Second Ring Road. • Some mini-bar drinks are complimentary, and the in-room amenities are of good quality. 4. Suitable For Guests visiting the Forbidden City and Wangfujing, business travelers, families with children, and those prioritizing convenient transportation and scenic views.

The PuXuan Hotel and Spa, is definitely ONE OF A KIND. It is truly a luxurious experience. We experienced several aspects of the hotel: room service, laundry, spa, and even special requests. Our journey started when we arrived to the hotel at 8am. The staff welcomed us warmly and offered tot ake care of our luggage while we explored Beijing and came back to do the proper check-in. We stayed at the parking lobby for a while, and they never tried to push us out. (In other hotels they do). Once we checked in, everything just kept improving. The rooms is simply magnificent, a “smart room” but in a really SMART. No over complicated controls, everything was user-friendly. I want to highlight the design of the room, and specially THE BATHROOM. I loved the sower, everything was clean and offered a great shower experience. Then the HOTEL SERVICES MY GOD, kudos to the all of the staff. We ordered room service and the menu was INCREDIBLE. We are from Mexico and they had Quesadillas, and a great wagyu burger! The service was quick and the food was delicious. The Creme Brulee was my favorite. We also request some laundry and MY GOD the quality of it. My linen shirt came back AS GOOD AS NEW, honestly. No single crease. About the hotel SPA, it was a truly magical experience. I reserved a traditional Chinese Medicine massage and the service was great. Although, from what I’ve experienced in other hotel spas, the price for me was a little bit off, despite the ambiance and the quality of the room. One note is that the robe felt old, it had some loose threads (and I mean I know this is is a small detail, but with everything else being just perfect, it just felt out of place to be honest). Now, the cherry on top WAS THEY NOTICED MY BIRTHDAY. Like, even i had forgotten it! Honestly! They went above and beyond to make this a truly special occasion for me! I was really touched by this present. With the overall experience I was really motivated to comeback to the PuXuan but with this small but significant detail I WILL DEFINITELY KEEP COMING BACK. Needless to say the food, the breakfast, the overall quality of the place is spectacular. Yes, maybe it can feel too modern at times, but you can feel the Chinese hospitality and details through the hotel. The hotel manager was kind enough to wave us goodbye at the checkout (and I loved her shoes by the way, she was so stylish). My check-in experience was just so-so. My check-out time and the kids' goodie bag were already set when I booked, but when I asked the front desk, they seemed clueless, like they were new, though their attitudes were pretty good. There were only two front desk staff. I'd read reviews saying everyone got upgraded, some even to suites, so I asked about an upgrade too. The front desk said an upgrade wasn't necessary, just a higher floor. I'm not sure if they were unwilling to upgrade or didn't know how. The shower in the bathroom leaked, and the towels felt old and couldn't be washed white. At the pool, there was only one towel, so if you go, you need to bring your own. Breakfast was average, not tasty, and there wasn't much variety. The next day, when we came back after going out, we couldn't get into our room. I went down to get the card fixed, but it still didn't work. I went down to the front desk again, and the second time, the front desk staff came up with me and fiddled with it for about 20 minutes. They said the key card was low on power. Finally, we got in, and then they called someone to change the battery. It's pretty amazing for a big hotel like this to have such an issue. The front desk staff who came up with me said they'd send some fruit, but they never did. While I don't really need the fruit, their attitude was quite amusing. I went to the rooftop bar to see the night view, but it rained, so I didn't get to see it. The french fries and sweet potato fries weren't good. At check-out, there were many front desk staff, and their attitudes were quite good. The hotel room was also quite nice, and the cleaning was done well. The small tent in the family room was great, and my child loved it. Parking requires a fee. The location is excellent, right next to Joy City, which is very convenient for shopping. The hotel exterior also looks very nice. If the issues I mentioned could be improved, I would consider staying again.

Our family's stay at the Beijing Yanjing Hotel was absolutely perfect! From the moment we stepped into the lobby, all the staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and efficient. The hotel's location is superb, right next to Chang'an Avenue, and very close to Tiananmen Square, Financial Street, and the Xidan commercial area. It's super convenient whether you're sightseeing or on a business trip. The facilities are comprehensive and well-maintained; the indoor pool is crystal clear, and the gym is well-equipped – perfect for relaxing in your downtime. The room was spacious and tidy, with excellent natural light. The mattress was soft and supportive, ensuring a stress-free night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and odor-free, and the large showerhead offered a fantastic experience, showing the high quality of service. Standing by the window, you could overlook the magnificent Chang'an Avenue, with a wide-open view. The attention to detail made us feel incredibly comfortable. The restaurant offered a rich variety of breakfast options, catering to both Western and Chinese tastes, and the food was delicious. The overall service upheld the 'Tangla Hotel Elegance' standard, being meticulous and thoughtful. This place offers incredible value for money. Next time we're in Beijing, we will definitely choose to stay here again!

I arrived a bit early on check-in day and my room wasn't ready yet. However, after speaking with the front desk, they kindly upgraded me to an executive floor room for free! A big thank you to the lovely front desk staff for their warm service! The room facilities and hotel amenities are excellent. The location is incredibly convenient, right in Beijing's core business district, Sanlitun, with plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby. The room view was beautiful, and the night view was truly stunning! The hotel staff were all incredibly welcoming. The doormen provided excellent service to every guest, really showcasing the hospitality of Beijing's residents. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing – it's absolutely fantastic!

Upon checking in, Miss Zoe at the front desk was incredibly enthusiastic. When I asked about upgrading my room type, she immediately and proactively helped me check and change it, quickly finding me a room with a better view. She was patient and polite throughout our conversation, very efficient, and took the initiative to explain the hotel facilities. Her attention to detail showed thoughtful service, and she was serious and responsible in addressing guest needs. She's an excellent front desk staff member! 👍
