5-Star Hotels in Hunan, China

Spontaneously decided to visit Fenghuang Ancient Town, and our guide in Zhangjiajie highly recommended Suli, calling it the best guesthouse in Fenghuang. While the facilities might not seem super modern, their style perfectly blends with the ancient town. We booked a duplex penthouse with a small terrace, about 20 square meters, offering a panoramic view of the lower reaches of the Tuojiang River. But the key, the absolute key, is the service. Qingqing, Lili, and even the aunts in the dining area always had a smiling service, truly making us feel at home. One last thing to add: my son specifically complimented the bathroom.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient. It's right in the city center, and best of all, it's less than a ten-minute walk from Xiangjiang Middle Road Metro Station (Line 2) after exiting the subway and crossing a crosswalk. Even with a large suitcase, there's no hassle at all. You can get directly to Orange Island, Yuelu Mountain, and the high-speed rail station all on one line, which is really too convenient! They also have non-smoking floors and offer free luggage storage. The room we were given even had a night view. Highly recommended!

Before checking in, the front desk proactively asked about our preferences. Since I was traveling with my parents, I booked a connecting family room. It was confirmed to be a city view, but you could actually see the Xiang River from the side, and the night view was absolutely stunning. The lounge was open from 6:30 PM until 10:00 PM. The hotel's stinky tofu was delicious, and the service was incredibly thorough and attentive. Every staff member was smiling and thoughtful, making my parents' stay very comfortable. It's really well-suited for family trips. When we checked out, the bellboy was also very considerate, helping us with our luggage all the way to the car. I'm very satisfied.

Honestly, the room was nice but was very noisy with the plane flew over occasionally during midnight. The hotel 3rd floor restaurants were not operating at night so THEY TURNED OFF THE ENTIRE FLOOR LIGHTS. Once you exit the lift, it’s pitch dark… They also turned off the lights for those conference rooms and corridors next to the washing machine areas at my room floor… It was so horrifying. Told the front desk, they said they will turn it on but nope. Nothing was done. While no other users but only our clothes were on self service washing, we returned within 10 mins after the washing timer completed. Shockingly noticed our clothes have started drying on incorrect setting. (We needed cold temp, slow spinning). It was the cleaner who “helped” us. It may be out of good wills but I personally find it inappropriate since no permissions were granted to touch or move our belongings.. The butler lady who contacted me through WeChat were also quite pushy on getting me to buy the tour tickets from her. She will keep reminding me to quickly make decisions on the ticket purchase… Intentions were questionable as my other hotel butler did not keep insisting. Nonetheless, she was still very helpful and responsive. When we arrived, there were no services and the front desk gave me the “you should have known how the hotel works” kind of look and instructed me with 2 lines:“ Breakfast at level 3, washing machine at level 5.”

The hotel room was exceptionally spacious with a classic decor, and the bedding was of very high quality and incredibly comfortable. The butler service exceeded my expectations and truly impressed me. Before check-in, the butler, Grace, proactively contacted me to inquire about my needs. Throughout my stay, whatever I required, the butler responded promptly and resolved my issues, making me feel exceptionally cared for. The hotel offers a wide variety of dining options, with a diverse breakfast selection and a pleasant restaurant ambiance. Highly recommended!

Facilities: The hotel has been open for some years, so the facilities aren't super new, but the room was quite spacious and had pretty much everything you'd need. There's no minibar in the room. The swimming pool is open from 3 PM to just past 9 PM. The hotel is surrounded by schools, so there are plenty of small eateries and restaurants nearby. The soundproofing in the rooms could use some improvement... Cleanliness: Clean. Environment: The hotel is quite close to the highway exit, which is convenient. Service: The bellboy in the lobby was very polite. When we were leaving, he proactively and warmly greeted us, helped with our luggage, and even brought it to the car. I forgot his name, I don't think I saw a name tag on his uniform. The hotel breakfast was all very clean, and the variety was quite rich.

The hotel's location is excellent, right at the confluence of the Xiangjiang and Liuyang rivers. Our room had a northern view, overlooking the Changsha Museum, Library, and Music Center, offering a broad and open panorama of the city's relaxed and comfortable vibe. The room layout was well-designed, with a smooth flow, making all functional areas convenient to use. The lounge's snacks were quite good, and the cocktail making was self-service. Downstairs, one side leads directly to the Beichenhui commercial complex, while the other opens to the riverside greenway, making shopping and strolling very convenient. There's also a small sports center nearby where you can play tennis, squash, badminton, etc., making it a very comfortable choice for a vacation. Finally, a big thank you to rarity and Sera for their enthusiastic assistance; the service was excellent and very personalized.

The Niccolo Changsha offers a phenomenal, truly six-star experience! The views from the 93rd floor are absolutely breathtaking. The room was spotlessly clean, elegantly designed, and equipped with high-end facilities, making for an exceptionally comfortable stay. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, with a full selection of both Chinese and Western dishes. The authentic Changsha rice noodles were delicious and fresh, and the desserts and fresh juices were all exquisite, offering an impressive variety that never got repetitive. The service was impeccable; customer service representative NAOMI was always prompt and efficient in addressing any needs. I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a charming little bear from the front desk in the morning – such thoughtful details really made the stay extra special. The location is excellent, making travel and shopping incredibly convenient. My entire experience was fantastic, and I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Changsha!

For this price, the environment and service offer incredible value for money. When checking out, I happened to catch her on duty. She smiled, said goodbye, and even reminded me to watch my luggage, which instantly gave me a feeling of warmth, like family. I've stayed in many hotels, and such meticulous and considerate service is truly rare. I highly recommend it; I'll definitely choose this place again next time!
