We stayed at the Hotel Dorsett, and overall it was a pretty positive experience, with a few small things to note. The best parts: The room is very spacious, and the bathroom is super large, with both a bathtub and a shower. The bed is comfortable – though a little firm, and you can feel movement when the other person moves. The curtains, lights, and USB chargers are a great, convenient touch. Breakfast is good, especially for Asian tastes – Western options are limited, but what they have is tasty. The location is fantastic: the metro is just 50 meters away, right at the doorstep. The area is nice and recommended. There was some construction nearby, but it didn't bother us at all. Could be improved: The only real negative point is the elevator – it takes quite a while. Bottom line: Highly recommended for the space, cleanliness, and location. If you don't mind waiting a bit for the elevator or a slightly firm bed, everything else more than makes up for it.

I came to Chengdu with my classmate this time. Since we're not yet adults, I was a bit worried about checking in, but it turns out I was completely overthinking it. The front desk staff were incredibly kind and patient. Instead of being dismissive because of our age, they were very considerate of our feelings throughout, and it felt really good to be treated with such respect. The city view from the room was absolutely stunning, with a super wide vista. Looking out the window at night, the city's splendor was laid out before us. Every picture we took was like a professional shot, and we spent ages taking photos by the window. Of course, as a well-established five-star hotel that's been open for some years, some of the facilities do feel a little dated compared to those trendy new hotels that just opened. However, this didn't affect the overall stay at all. The bedding was very comfortable, and the hygiene was excellent. The minor flaws don't detract from the overall quality. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I truly felt the expected standards and warmth of the Ritz-Carlton. Thank you to all the Ritz-Carlton staff! (。・ω・。)つ🌷

The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get anywhere; a taxi ride usually costs around ten yuan. The service was also very satisfying; the butler service was attentive, and any requests were promptly addressed. Before arriving, I was a bit worried the hotel facilities might be outdated, but after checking in, I realized my worries were unfounded – everything is well-maintained, and the room is very spacious. The hotel breakfast also offers a rich variety, including all the Chengdu specialty snacks, though there were quite a few kids due to the summer holiday. Next time I visit Chengdu, I'll definitely prioritize staying at The St. Regis again!

Recently renovated hotel with excellent and helpful staff. Perfect location, short walk from IFS, and very easy to spot. Lots of restaurants nearby and just across the street from Chunxi Road metro station. Amenities were complete. Deducting 1 point because on the last night, the AC malfunctioned. No matter how we adjusted the temperature or changed modes, it kept reverting to heater mode at 31°C, making it unbearably hot. Everything else was wonderful.

The hotel's front desk service was absolutely fantastic! As soon as we arrived and they knew we were from out of town, they gave us a little tourist guide. The attractions listed in it were super helpful. The hotel room was also comfortable, and the surrounding area had plenty of convenient options for food, drinks, and entertainment. It's really reassuring that the whole building is just one hotel, unlike those office buildings crammed with a dozen different hotels. Everyone can choose this hotel with peace of mind. 016

Returned to Chengdu from Kangding on May 30th and once again chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Chengdu Gulou (Chunxi Road branch). The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to the subway, making it super convenient to get to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li. The rooms are modern, elegant, clean, and tidy, with great soundproofing. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful; from the moment we stepped into the hotel, front desk staff members Xiao Peng and Xiao Shi greeted us enthusiastically and brought out our stored luggage. Knowing we don't smoke, they even upgraded us to a non-smoking room, which was very considerate. The hotel breakfast offers a rich variety of Chinese and Western options, and the restaurant staff are friendly and polite, with food items replenished very quickly. Highly recommend! This was my first stay at a Kempinski hotel. Upon entering the lobby, it felt a bit dim and cramped. The room had an industrial grey theme, likely due to a recent renovation, and the quality of the refurbishment was excellent. After one night, I grew to love the hotel's extra-large, slightly firm bed. The breakfast restaurant exuded an old-school luxury vibe, and the food quality was highly commendable. I also tried the pool in the morning and was even more impressed – perfect for both kids and adults (three small, one large pool). The water quality, temperature, and changing rooms were all perfect. Incredibly convenient location with lots of shops and restuarants nearby and the metro station right across the street. The staff were all very lovely and polite and the facilities provided were sufficient. The main drawback of our rooms were the strange layout. There was no private bathroom, only cubicles for the toilet and shower and an open sink. The cubicles had frosted glass which I found was a bit awkward and did not provide enough privacy. Additionally the toilet cubicle was directly across the window which made things more uncomfortable. I also found it frustrating that all the settings would reset after leaving the room - ie. on your return the tv would automatically turn on and the curtains would be drawn back. The design was also very dated and looked very old, the fenced windows had white cracking paint and the floors which are depicted to be carpeted in the images are actually just wooden floors. Lastly, I had some concerns with the plugs being a bit flimsy, the cover would pop off which I thought was a bit unsafe.

The thoughtful turndown service at night and the complimentary local snacks were lovely touches that made the stay extra special. Service was consistently warm and attentive. The front desk staff were efficient and thorough, and all staff members were patient and helpful, responding quickly to any requests. The dining options were extensive; the Sichuan cuisine at 'Shang Palace' was authentic and delicious, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices. Please excuse the messy room; after a five-day stay, it hadn't been cleaned. (It was my own laziness in not requesting cleaning, not the hotel's fault.) Pros: It's a 6-minute walk to Chunxi Road subway station, and across the overpass is the bustling outer edge of the Chunxi Road commercial area, offering plenty of shopping. Right downstairs is a local Hongqi chain convenience store, making shopping convenient and prices normal. Across from the hotel, there's a popular hotpot restaurant, a traditional breakfast shop, and a fruit stand—very convenient. Cons: The room was dim; the shower didn't work well, and the shower space was cramped. The cleanliness was just average, especially during the last two days when I woke up with itchy skin, and I'm not sure why. Overall: Very good value for money, and the front desk was responsive. I would recommend staying here. My suggestion is for them to be a bit more thorough with the cleaning.

This hotel boasts excellent transport links, situated between Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street and the metro station. It's surrounded by both established eateries and trendy new spots, and a stroll to Taikoo Li is just downstairs. The front desk is on the 15th floor of Guangqun Tower. After checking in, you take the guest elevator to your room. If you're staying on the Club Floor, check-in is on the 35th floor, where you can enjoy refreshments throughout the day. There's also a fitness bar and Hotpot No. 8, making it easy to experience Chengdu's culinary delights right downstairs. The front desk staff were incredibly polite and gracious, doing their best to accommodate all requests. The check-in process was smooth, and they clearly explained all the services – very professional. The room itself isn't huge. The electric curtains open automatically, and while the room furnishings show a bit of age, everything is well-maintained, clean, and tidy. The air conditioning also works effectively. The bedding has a good bounce, and the pillows are fluffy. Since my high-floor room didn't have windows, there was a slightly stuffy smell when I first entered, especially in summer. The toilet and shower are separate, with sinks on both sides, which is convenient for sharing and doesn't disturb others. The room was very quiet at night, perfect for a peaceful sleep. Breakfast is served on the 15th floor. It can get a bit busy between 8 and 9 AM. The buffet offers a good mix of Chinese and Western dishes, with plenty of local specialties like Long Chao Shou and Dandan noodles for guests to try. Coffee and tea are brought directly to your table, and used plates are cleared promptly. The service is well-organized and efficient.

The hotel’s biggest advantage is its excellent location. It’s within walking distance of Taikoo Li and Chunxi Road, making it very convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring Chengdu. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but the lighting was quite dim, and there were mirrors everywhere, which gave it a bit of a “love hotel” vibe. It's just a 10-meter walk from Exit C of Dongmen Bridge Metro Station, and there's a 7-Eleven and FamilyMart nearby, so grabbing snacks and drinks is never an issue. The room facilities are standard, consistent with Holiday Inn Express properties – clean and comfortable. While not brand new, they're perfectly fine. I particularly want to praise the breakfast! The variety is excellent, with local specialties like 'Bo Bo Chicken,' 'Chao Shou,' various vegetables, and other Chengdu snacks. It's definitely not a perfunctory hotel breakfast; it's quite enjoyable. At around 500-600 RMB per night, in this city center location, it offers great value for money.
