5-Star Hotels in Gansu, China

This is the first time I've specifically waited to review a hotel: 1. Location: Less than 10 minutes from the high-speed train station, very convenient. 2. Service: Beyond five-star service! They added me on WeChat in advance, and all the hotel staff were incredibly enthusiastic. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, from bottled water available everywhere to free laundry and drying facilities, complete with laundry detergent. In the evenings, there were complimentary sweet soups, milk, and pastries. It was so convenient when traveling with a child and ordering extra food. There were welcome gifts upon check-in and also gifts upon check-out, plus a play area for kids. An excellent hotel! 👍👍👍

This is truly what a hotel should be like. From service to rooms, quality, and class, it perfectly matches the price, exceeding expectations. The stay was exceptionally comfortable. The hotel is right by the Yellow River, offering expansive river views. Walking into the lobby, the first impression was stunning, with a strong sense of design. Opened in 2020, it’s been 6 years, but all facilities in the entire hotel are incredibly well-maintained, with no signs of age or wear; the maintenance level is top-notch. The guest rooms are spacious, the bedding is comfortable, and the details are well-executed. The staff are professional and polite, and service response is prompt. If you're coming to Lanzhou and want to stay by the Yellow River, you can't go wrong with this hotel. It’s a high-quality hotel from my journey to Hexi.

This was my first stop in China and I’m so happy that I stayed in Dunhuang at Baibaili Hotel. I was looked after so well, the hospitality of the staff extended many times for several necessities and I’m touched by their hospitality. This will for a very long time, be my remarkable first impression of China, its people and their culture. The location is perfect if you want to stay a bit further out from town and enjoy the silence of being closer to the desert and the stunning design of the place. Beautiful and comfortable room, all the final touches refined every day and after 24 hrs of travelling; a generous fruit and snack plate that grounded me sweetly into Dunhuang upon arrival and farewelled me just after mid-autumn with a beautiful moon cake. Their communication was frequent and always made sure I had what I needed. Thank you so much Baibaili

The environment is great, and it's really good value for money. The breakfast was also nice. Most importantly, the staff were very enthusiastic and provided excellent service. They even upgraded our room for free, which was a pleasant surprise! There are also many good restaurants nearby, just a short taxi ride away (minimum fare), so it's very convenient and economical.

Service: The service was impeccable. Our butler was incredibly attentive and responsive throughout our stay, always accommodating our requests. Truly excellent! Facilities: As a relatively new hotel, all the facilities are well-equipped and modern, including the gym. Environment and Value for Money: I mainly want to discuss the location and value for money. Among hotels I've stayed at in a similar price range, such as Le Meridien Chongzuo, Raffles Hainan, Capella Sanya, and Desert Star Hotel Zhongwei, Dongyi Hotel falls a tier below in terms of hotel size, room size, location (requiring a taxi to Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area), hotel activities, breakfast, and overall facilities. However, the price is almost on par with these higher-tier hotels. Therefore, I feel it's somewhat lacking and doesn't quite match the price point.

The hotel is great. Coming to the Northwest, the sky is indeed incredibly blue, but the climate is a bit dry. The room was standard but very clean, and the design felt modern, not old-fashioned. The front desk staff was especially friendly; it was a pleasant surprise to meet someone from my hometown. They arranged the room perfectly, which was very thoughtful. Next time I visit, Hilton will definitely be my first choice again.

Recommended!!! The front desk staffs no 05 & 59 are super good service. The hotel location is right next to the mall, which is extremely convenient. They offer free hot oat soup and hot milk at night and complimentary shuttle service to the train station. The breakfast selection is varied and very delicious. I love this hotel service. Staying here is my right decision in this trip. Thank you all staffs for taking good care of us through out our stay.

I chose this hotel because it's the closest to Lanzhou West Station and offers a shuttle service. During check-in, I immediately booked the shuttle for the next day. The hotel called the following morning to say that due to the rain, the shuttle would leave 30 minutes earlier. So we went to the lobby to wait for the car. We were almost late for our train when the driver finally showed up in a 7-seater vehicle. There were 9 of us, so two people had to share a seat. Instead of dropping us off at the departure gate, we were taken to the underground parking lot. Everyone had to run to the ticket gate to catch the train. It was a bad experience.

I had an early morning flight, so I opted to stay at the Parc Culture Hotel, which opened in 2025 at Lanzhou Airport, the night before. This hotel is one of the more luxurious options in the area, with very new and complete facilities in spacious rooms. The service was very attentive; they offered a special welcome drink upon check-in. The airport transfer service was excellent; they proactively called to confirm my itinerary in advance, and the driver enthusiastically helped with my luggage. The ride was about 5 minutes. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and in addition to standard fare, I could enjoy authentic Lanzhou specialties like beef noodles and grey beans. This hotel offers great value for money and is perfect for guests with early morning flights or late-night arrivals.

After a few days in Gannan, I specifically chose a hotel with a bathtub and a pool for a relaxing night. The Yellow River view room offers first-class scenery, overlooking both banks of the Yellow River from a high vantage point. The breakfast was also good, the room was spacious enough, and the service was excellent – anything I needed was provided quickly. There's also a Reader Culture & Creativity shop in the lobby downstairs. I'm a hundred percent satisfied! The price was surprisingly similar to a three-star campsite in Gannan. The cost of living in Lanzhou is surprisingly affordable!
