The hotel is short distance away from the major sightseeing spots at jozankei, but still walkable distance. That allows a tranquil and relaxing environment which you can truly enjoy the stay and immerse yourself into the nature. The resort is beautiful and room is super spacious. The buffet is wonderful. All the food are very fresh which make you feel very healthy. The onsen are nice. However, I found the temperature of outdoor bath too high. I feel recharged after the stay, both physically and mentally.
We had a wonderful stay at Shogetsu Grand Hotel and truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of Jozankei. The room was spacious, clean, and offered a beautiful view that made the stay very relaxing. The onsen experience was excellent — well maintained and perfect for unwinding after a day out. Dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared, with a good variety and high quality ingredients. The staff were polite, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable stay, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing onsen getaway.
Everything was good for the stay, we had an early flight , didn’t manage to try on 4th floor onsen. the town itself don’t have many restaurant. There are only 2 ramen restaurant and both has a long queue.
Nice Onsen resort and we like the private Onsen inside the room. The room is huge but it will be great if it has international channels or even Netflix or YouTube. It provides transport to Sapporo so that is great. Nice free drinks and snacks at night.
Hotel is in an awesome location right smack in the middle of li xiao lu no. 6. covered walkway and 5minutes walk to Poletown underground. Onsen is convenient, massage is good. Washing machine is free and right outside the onsen, just need to pay for the dryer. Microwave oven is available at level 2 and 6. There is complementary icecream and yoghurt depends on timing, can eat after onsen. Beside got seicomart and family mart. In winter, be careful if you are walking outside at pavement as it is slippery.

Very Good
We only had 1 night to stay in this beautiful paradise 🥲🤍 It was the best stay of our 10 day trip in Japan and we would definitely be back to stay here again 🤍 Location: in the Jozankei Onsen town that’s about an hour + out of Sapporo. Honestly if you’re in a group, just book a cab out, it was about $80++ for 3 of us! Otherwise remember to book the Onsen bus shuttle early in advance 🥹 Area around Onsen is nothing much besides other Onsen houses, a small cafe and other smol tourist picture spots. Back to the Ryokan: this was my first experience being in one and I’m so glad I chose this place! Mum and sister throughly enjoyed it as well, using our in room Onsen ( there’s 2!) and also the shared common Onsen with an outdoor facing the snow too ❄️☃️♨️ Service:The staff was extremely polite and efficient, seeing the reviews of them being rude was kinda uncalled for. They were nothing but kind and attentive. It is a very quiet and peaceful place , I understand the need for all guests to be maintain the atmosphere too. Food: amazing, one of the best meals I’ve had in Japan so far ♥️ the pictures below speaks for itself 🥹 private dining room to enjoy the view too🏔️ Loved small touches too like the mikimoto soaps , Dyson hair dryers ( in the public Onsen) And the chopstick souvenirs 🥹 I can’t wait to come back here again with my partner 🤍
Hotel is quite old and dated. Have not unlocked a door using physical key for quite a while. Hotel is still clean and was a comfortable stay. Dinner and breakfast buffet were good. Location is within walkable distance to nearby park.
