"The first night, we were assigned to the guesthouse, which I found inconvenient and didn't want to go to, but they said the main building was fully booked. The room was very spacious, which the two kids loved. It was indeed a bit out of the way, but the shuttle service made it very convenient, getting us to the main building within five minutes. The second night, we stayed in a family room on the first floor of the main building, which I personally really liked, and my younger daughter absolutely adored. Honestly, the first-floor room wasn't musty or damp as some online reviews claimed. As for breakfast, it was incredibly rich and hearty – we were stuffed! It was much more plentiful than the breakfast at the InterContinental we stayed at last year. Finally, regarding the service, my older son said he could find fault with other aspects, but the service was truly impeccable."

"Don't book! Don't book! Absolutely don't book! I booked one day and didn't want to leave, so I immediately booked a week's stay. The environment, the quality, the cleanliness...it's better than my home! I added the owner on WeChat; I'll need to consult them about renovations later. Let me describe the hotel's location: it faces the sea, there's a bus stop 100 meters behind, and Lehai Park in front. Many locals go there to go beachcombing and have an endless supply of seafood. Most importantly, the hotel has a free shared kitchen, which my family really appreciates. Plus, there's free parking. Cleanliness: Impeccable. Facilities: Everything you could need, fully smart, modern, high-tech. The toilet is automatic, no flushing required—awesome! Service: The receptionist was quite handsome, the kind of guy who grows on you. I wonder if he has a girlfriend... He was very attentive and even taught us how to avoid scams. This trip to Xiamen was excellent. I give Dolphin Bay 100 points!"

"The room's soundproofing was poor. Even though there were soundproofing strips under the door, anyone talking loudly could still be heard. Even though the check-in notes stated, ”If you're arriving late, please keep your voices down so as not to disturb other guests,” it didn't help. The sewers were also very loud, and if someone upstairs was showering, the noise from the bathroom would persist for a long time. Fortunately, the children's sleep wasn't disturbed, otherwise it would have been even more frustrating for the adults. I was woken up two or three times a night, which was really frustrating. If you're staying here and don't sleep well, please bring earplugs. Also, although the hotel is newly renovated, termites can be a problem if it rains. If you're a bug-shy person, beware! Although the location is good, the service is excellent, and the exterior is beautiful, the amenities are truly disappointing. It's all show and no substance. After all, as I write this review, I've already fallen asleep and been woken for the second time, and it's only 11:30 PM. 😓"

"The newly opened Xiamen Anchen B&B was truly the unexpected highlight of our trip! The moment we stepped into the courtyard, we felt instantly relaxed. The leisure area, surrounded by lush greenery, featured soft lounge chairs – perfect for unwinding under the warm afternoon sun. The '围炉煮茶' (fireside tea brewing) setup was an absolute winner! The host prepared fresh ingredients like oranges, peanuts, and rice cakes for roasting, and the aroma of tea blended with the smoky scent from the fire. Chatting and roasting with friends created an incredibly cozy atmosphere. The swimming pool was crystal clear with clean, odor-free water, making it perfect for both Instagram-worthy photos and a refreshing evening dip. The room facilities were brand new and immaculate. The decor was simple yet cozy, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, ensuring a great night's sleep. The cleanliness was exceptional; not a speck of dust in the corners, and no unpleasant odors, which made us feel completely at ease. The owner was incredibly warm and attentive, providing travel tips in advance and always available when needed, making us feel right at home. The B&B's location is super convenient for getting around, whether you're visiting attractions or trying local food. You get to enjoy the slow pace of a private courtyard while also having easy access to Xiamen's vibrant local life. It offers incredible value for money and is perfect for couples, friends, or families. "I originally booked the Wyndham, but when I arrived, I didn't like it and didn't want to compromise. After contacting Trip.com, I was able to cancel. I'm especially grateful that the hotel didn't complain or drag things out, and quickly processed a no-charge checkout, since I had already checked in at the Wyndham. I then re-booked at the InterContinental. Although the hotel's decor is many years old, the bed was very comfortable and the soundproofing was excellent. All the staff were warm and polite. It's a 10-minute walk to the beach and close to shopping and dining. The breakfast selection is rich, though the Chinese restaurant options are a bit limited."
