"The location and cleanliness are impeccable. It's truly a great place to stay, but… there's one major downside that completely negates all its advantages. I'm so angry I'm writing this furious review right now. The washing machine and dryer noise at night is no joke. Even with the door closed, there's a constant rattling sound that's just… unbearable. I don't know if it's coming from upstairs or next door, but the buzzing noise even in the early hours was so irritating that I couldn't sleep. There are thoughtless people who run their washing machines and dryers in the morning and early hours, making the cons outweigh all the pros. I don't know why they designed the building this way… they should have just made it a shared coin-operated laundry."

The Pinewood Queenstown provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. Visitors to Queenstown will find that the Pinewood Queenstown is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel offers easy access to Queenstown Airport, just 8km away. This hotel is located near many of Queenstown's attractions including Ben Lomond Track, Queenstown Cemetery and NZONE Skydive Queenstown. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. This Queenstown hotel features parking on site. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"Disappointing compared to other hostels in New Zealand I stayed two nights at Pinewood Lodge and, unfortunately, it was one of my least favorite hostels during my trip to New Zealand. The main issue was the lack of facilities for the number of guests. There were only two toilets and two showers for about a dozen people, which often led to waiting times. The kitchen is very small, with little space to store food (practically only the refrigerator) and a rather limited selection of utensils and cooking equipment. The room was also very cold, despite the heating being turned up to maximum, which didn't make for very comfortable nights. The location is decent, but for my part, I'm glad I only stayed two nights. Given my experience in many other hostels in New Zealand, this one is unfortunately not among those I would prioritize recommending."

"Traveling as a couple with no car, the room was perfectly adequate for the two of us. Queenstown is quite small, so accommodation options are limited. This place met all my needs; it's within walking distance to all the attractions and very close to the bus stop, making it easy to get here directly from the airport by public transport. The decor is new, it's very clean, and they clean the room daily. Highly recommended! My advice is to book early, otherwise, you might find it's fully booked when you want to make a reservation."

"I booked this hotel because I had an early 7 AM flight. It's easily accessible from Queenstown via bus route 1, and bus route 3 takes you to a supermarket near the airport, which is super convenient. I had originally planned to walk to the airport (about a 20-minute walk), but I easily caught a taxi at 5 AM for 20 NZD. The front desk staff was very friendly and attentive, especially a lady with a French accent. The front desk closes after 8 PM, but you can self-check-in/out with a key card. The room itself was well-equipped, thoughtfully laid out, clean, and tidy, with kitchen facilities and a washing machine."

"The hotel is very close to the airport, and the front desk staff who checked us in were all very kind and friendly. Even though we arrived early, they did their best to arrange a room for us. They even suggested storing our snowboards at the front desk to save us the hassle of carrying them around. I really have to commend the front desk staff for their perceptiveness and proactive customer-oriented attitude! In addition, the staff at the hotel's Grant restaurant were equally friendly and proactive in their service. The food offered great value for money, and both the taste and quality were excellent! Next time I visit Queenstown, I will definitely choose to stay here again!"

"Location is just a 10min walk to the center of downtown Queenstown. The place is clean and cozy. There’s a big kitchen communal area that occupies almost the entire first floor. People can cook their food there. I think all cooking utensils and tools are provided. For the room, I stayed in a one bunk bed (2single beds). Space is enough for two occupants. Each bed has it’s own light and power sockets. Locker is also available to put your valuable things. Just bring your own lock. Also, bring your own towels. They don’t provide it for free. You have to rent it and pay NZD4. Common toilets and showers were clean and spotless during my four night stay."

"Quiet hostel, no unnecessary noise. Everything is quite basic, but perfectly fine for a couple of nights. The room is clean, beds are comfortable, nothing fancy. Common areas are decent. "Amazing hotel. Good service and friendly staff members. Nice king bed and we had an extra sofa bed which is a bonus, it was set-up for free for us as my partner sleep snoring very loudly. The location is great and easy to find. The downgrade was the parking, there was no free parking as we had to pay $20 per 24hr. So we had to spent $60 just for parking, its ridiculous expensive. The hotel should've provide it free parking. But other than that the stayed was amazing. Had a great restaurant by the wharf and the food is amazing and bonus with an amazing views."

We were thrilled to be the very first guests to leave a review for this stunning new resort! The location is fantastic, just a quick 10-minute drive to town, and our room offered breathtaking views of the Shot River, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. We arrived around 10 PM, and the hotel reception was impeccably prepared, warmly welcoming us and even upgrading our room! It looked exactly like the photos, with a design and interior that perfectly captured the vibe we were seeking. They had welcome drinks waiting for us, and we appreciated that milk was available on request at any time. The breakfast was a delightful a la carte experience, featuring an array of delicious options. The serving staff was not only attentive and kind but also provided excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants! We also indulged in room service, which exceeded our expectations in both taste and punctuality. Although the fitness room and movie room were still under construction, the small maintenance issue we encountered in the bathroom was addressed swiftly by the staff. Our stay has left us eager to return and see the final results of this new gem. I highly recommend this resort to everyone!

I was staying with my daughter here. Its close to the city centre just a few minutes of walk. Hotel itself was very beautiful. They had tit bits morning, evening and night at the entrance for their patrons to enjoy. Loved the view of the lake outside our window. Housekeeping was extremely thoughtful. They also sent us complementary milk and chocolate to make our hot chocolate at night. Loved it!

I've stayed in bunk-style hostels before, but this one was much taller and more spacious, which was great. The only downside is that climbing to the top bunk felt quite high and a bit scary. It's nice that they provide towels, especially for a hostel. Considering how expensive accommodation is in Queenstown, this place offers good value for money. My only regret is that they sell alcohol in the kitchen, so you can't drink wine or other alcoholic beverages you've bought from outside.

Overall, it was a great experience, perfect for a Queenstown vacation, and highly recommended.

The price was great, really affordable. Parking is limited, and many spots without the hotel's logo require payment, so be careful not to make a mistake. Overall, the room conditions were excellent, and there's a simple, free gym. It's a 5-minute drive to Queenstown Airport and 15 minutes to the city center, so it's right by the airport – perfect for those with a car. There's also a washing machine, dryer, and a heated towel rail.

Clean, tidy, and generally comfortable stay. The room was quite compact, but there was just enough space to store and open large suitcases, and there are heavy drawers under the bed for storage (no lock provided). The building itself is narrow and compact, with quite a few stairs required to access the kitchen, bathrooms, lounge areas, and some rooms, which may be inconvenient for those with heavy luggage or limited mobility. Our ground-floor room was directly below the shower units, and with thin walls, noise from water running, footsteps, and street traffic (as it’s centrally located on a main road) was noticeable. Light sleepers may find this disruptive. Facilities are good, with two shared kitchens (stovetops, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, cutlery, and crockery), indoor and balcony seating areas, and a large lounge (TV plays DVDs only). There are multiple shared unisex bathrooms, including single units and a space with two showers and toilets. This may not suit everyone. Cleaned in the morning but gets dirty by end of day. On a positive, there are plenty of bath mats, liquid soap, and a hair dryer are provided. Laundry is available via QR code payment (around $6 per wash or dry), and on-site parking is offered at $40 per night. Towel available for hire ($4). Staff super friendly.

You can easily reach the hotel from the airport by taking the #1 bus. It's about a 15-20 minute ride. Get off at the Blue Peak stop, walk back, and cross the road. It's also not far from the town center, just a 10-15 minute walk. The next bus stop after Blue Peak is the main town center station and the Intercity bus stop. However, be aware that walking to the town center involves going down a really steep hill, so walking from the town center back to the hotel means walking uphill. This is something to keep in mind if you're arriving in Queenstown by Intercity bus rather than by plane. Also, note that there are two hotels called 'Copthorne', likely related, but they are not adjacent. This one is closer to the town center and closer to the lake. The hotel is quite large, and surprisingly, you take an elevator down from the front desk to reach the rooms. I booked a lake view room, and the view was genuinely good. During the off-season, it wasn't expensive, only about 100-200 RMB more than a standard room, offering excellent value for money! The room was also quite spacious, really great!

The most beautiful hotel in Queenstown, I regret not staying there longer. The outdoor lake view is absolutely stunning and incredibly peaceful. The room decor also perfectly captures a vacation vibe! If you're going to Queenstown, you absolutely *must* stay at this hotel, and definitely opt for the family room. It's fully equipped with a well-designed layout, perfect for cooking and laundry. The master bedroom opens right up to the amazing view – a perfect spot to relax and soak it all in.

Fantastic experience! Booking a one-bedroom lake-view room felt like a steal, especially since I got a top-floor unit – the views were absolutely incredible. When checking in, there was a credit card issue, but the gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating and allowed me to use cash as a deposit. Checkout was quick and efficient. A crucial tip: make sure to email ahead to reserve a parking spot. My mid-to-large SUV fit into the hotel's car park without any problem. Next time I'm in Queenstown, I'd love to stay longer!

Being in the city center, it's very convenient to get around, and close to the InterCity bus and airport shuttle stops. It's also about a 10-minute walk to places for tours like Milford Sound. I'd say the location is excellent! The room itself was very clean, and even though all the beds were occupied, the other guests in the room were quiet, which made it easy to sleep. The building itself also looked very clean from the outside. However, it was a shame that there were no power outlets near the beds, no hairdryer in the bathroom, and the common areas were incredibly dirty – though that might have just been bad luck with the other guests staying at the time. Considering the price, if you can overlook these issues, it's probably worth staying. I'd consider staying here again.
