"The room provided was spacious, but it was rather basic and felt more like a normal apartment than a hotel apartment. The air conditioning was not properly serviced and was dusty. An iron was not provided in the room, and when we requested one, we were informed that all the irons were already in use. On the positive side, the breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety of food. The swimming pool was also large and beautiful. We were offered a seafood buffet on the second night, even though the brochure clearly stated that the buffet was only available on Saturdays and Sundays. We were informed by the cafe that they had extended the buffet, so we booked in advance on the first day of our stay, immediately after checking in. We confirmed the availability of the buffet three times with the hotel to make sure that everything was in order. However, on Monday afternoon, the hotel cancelled the buffet themselves, citing a “miscommunication”. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We had made the booking in advance and repeatedly confirmed it with the hotel, only to have the hotel cancel it at the last minute due to their own internal miscommunication."

"I stayed here for my birthday, and the hotel not only upgraded my room for free but also prepared a little surprise. The room was super spacious, the air conditioning was cool, and the pool water was clean and beautiful. In the evening, we chose one of the Japanese restaurants; the food was pretty good, just a bit on the pricey side. Overall, I was very satisfied!"

"Every time I travel for work, I stay here. This hotel used to be one of the best on the island, but now there are Marriotts and such. Out of habit, I still prefer to stay here. This time, I chose it for a family trip mainly due to familiarity and good value for money. For around 400-500 RMB, the hotel is quite understated. The Ctrip page stated a 1.5-meter bed, but it was actually 1.8 meters. For two 1.2-meter beds, the website listed them as 1 meter. The breakfast was also good; my child even tried snake fruit."

"I enjoyed the accessibility to Grand ESKA spa. The breakfast buffet was simple yet enjoyable and delicious. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Appreciated the front desk team for remembering us by face and asking how our day was daily. The hotel was refurbished. Even though old, the bed was good, firm and new and room was kept clean. The lift was rather dingy but it still got us up and down safely. Lastly, i personally enjoyed the quiet corners of the hotel. Loved the fact that our level was “child free” hence there werent kids shouting in rooms. I love children, but the hotel’s particular policy of no child in the room type we booked was pleasantly surprising. Will returned. Note: spa experience was on point too."

"Check-in was alright, fast & friendly. As they didn't ask me if I was an ASR member, at the end of check-in, I asked if my membership had been logged in. It was not. All the staff were great, very friendly & polite. Just these small details would have made it a better experience. Exiting the lift, we were hit by a nice fragrance, as our room was on the same floor as the spa. The room was decently sized & clean. The air con was cold if you're directly in it's path but on the bed, it was a bit warm even though it was at the coldest setting. Perhaps due to its positioning. The big screen smart tv was personalised to our name, which was a nice touch. There was a big empty space next to the bed, which was a bit puzzling until I had a look at the hotel's room picture again. In the picture, there was supposed to be a single sofa seat and what looked like a small coffee table, which was obviously missing. It's not a big deal. it just made the room seem oddly sparse. To get to the gym, you had to walk through the restaurant. From certain tables, you could see into the gym. If you're an introvert, this is not the gym for you. Breakfast was good, a lot of variety. They even had quesadillas. There was also an entertaining short dance by the staff. The location is great as it's right next to batam center ferry terminal and across from mega mall."

"I had a wonderful stay at HARRIS Hotel Batam Waterfront. The hotel offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful waterfront views, making it a great place to relax. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with anything I needed. The breakfast had a good variety of local and international dishes, and the facilities, including the swimming pool and fitness center, were well kept. The location is convenient if you’re looking for a quiet getaway while still being within a reasonable distance of popular attractions and the ferry terminal. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with excellent hospitality and good value for money. I would definitely recommend HARRIS Hotel Batam Waterfront to anyone visiting Batam, whether for a family vacation, a couple’s retreat, or a business trip. I look forward to staying here again in the future."

"From the time we booked the trip until we checked out everything was so smooth and beautiful. There's a shuttle service from Nongsa Ferry Terminal to the resort. Every single staff were friendly, kind, accommodating, helpful...In room dining service is available 24/7. We loved the beach bar. Decent breakfast spread, the ala carte menu at taming sari was so good. Rooms were very clean, spacious and theview from our balcony was so serene and beautiful! The only thing the management need to consider is installation of more fan or air cooler at Taming Sari as its too hot. Some of the fans were out of order. The weather is extremely hot. While we enjoyed the food,drinks and the amazing service by the team we had to finish our meal quickly and head back to the room as its extremely hot and stuffy in there."

"It's a refurbished hotel, previously known as Sahid. I'm not sure if they were doing enough renovating the hotel though. I was surprised the room was unlike their photos, the door was bulging as if they were made from wood ashes, the smell of cigarettes was so strong even though I requested for no smoking room. I wasn't sure why, but then they came to spray something to get rid of the smell after that. Another issue was the aircond. I already complained about this, but the engineering team came, but only to wipe it. I already told him that the water passage was blocked, but he juat wiped it down. I suspected that it would happen again, and lo and behold it did. I was so frustrated about this. When I reported this issue, they came again, and confirmed my suspicion all along. They said it wouldn't take long, but it did. They said to wait for their supervisor. After a while, it's decided that I had to move to another room. It took them a while too, only to move me the a room a stone away from the current one. When I got to the new room, the cigarette smell was actually worse, so the guy who moved me called the front desk to move me again, but they were very reluctant to make the change. It was suffocating just to be in the room, even with an opened door. Too many back and forth, and finally they moved me. I was already tired from the travel around the city, and they did this. I was so disappointed. The food was modest at best. Cigarette smell was too strong around the hotel."
