"This hotel is super convenient as you can take the 'W' line bus directly from Honolulu Airport. It's about a 10-minute walk to Waikiki Beach, and it's located on a street lined with famous Waikiki hotels. Royal Hawaiian Center is also within walking distance. There are ABC Stores, supermarkets, and a DEAN & DELUCA on the first floor of the Ritz-Carlton Residences all nearby. I've stayed here several times.
I chose a twin room, and it came with two queen-sized beds, which was very comfortable. The only minor downside was that the air conditioning was a bit noisy, but if you turned it off and used the ceiling fan, it was still cool enough. The bathroom had a bathtub, and while there wasn't a hand shower, adjusting the water temperature was easy, so it wasn't an issue. The cleaning was thorough, and the room was spotless. The hairdryer was in a black bag inside the closet.
They provided a capsule coffee maker with both coffee and tea capsules, which was a nice touch. There was also a refrigerator, microwave, and iron. While there's no bottled mineral water service in the room, there's a free water dispenser next to the front desk where you can fill your own bottle or cup. The complimentary breakfast was simple but sufficient, and the taste was good. Given the high cost of living in Hawaii, I was very satisfied with the reasonable stay here."

✅ **Highlights**
The hotel environment is excellent. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms feature double vanities, indicating solid foundational hardware. The in-room amenities are Byredo, with a pleasant, high-end fragrance, which is a definite plus. There are many Japanese staff members, and their service attitude is friendly, with prompt room service. Coinciding with my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, the hotel thoughtfully presented us with a bottle of champagne, which we deeply appreciated.
The balcony view is a huge bonus, facing the beach directly. On Fridays, we could watch the weekly fireworks show from the neighboring Hilton without having to jostle through crowds, making for a very special experience.
The room comes with a full kitchen. If you don't want to eat the hotel's buffet breakfast, you can buy ingredients from the ABC Store and prepare simple meals yourself, offering great flexibility, which is perfect for family travel.
⚠️ **Downsides**
The check-in process was quite frustrating. During peak hours, the hotel strictly enforces a 4 PM check-in time. After our family arrived, there was no suitable indoor waiting area, so we had to wander around outside in the hot sun to kill time. This was very inconvenient for a family trip.
Objectively speaking, while the staff's attitude was good and we received a surprise treat for the anniversary, when compared to similarly priced luxury hotels in Japan and luxury brands of the same caliber domestically, there's still a gap in the overall service completeness and detailed processes.

It was an adequate stay for one night. The unbeatable ocean view balcony, the ability to watch fireworks, the Byredo amenities, and the thoughtful anniversary champagne were all highlights. The room type with a kitchen is practical for families. However, the rigid check-in process during busy periods is a clear drawback. If visiting during peak season, be prepared for a late room handover.

There are two rooms, one single bed in one room, two single beds in one room, the middle living room sofa is a double bed, and the living room has a kitchen with a full range of kitchenware, which is very suitable for the whole family, young and old, especially children. The family is very suitable. One bathtub can take a bath, and there are two showers. The bathroom is large. The space in the room is very reasonable. The balcony can go out directly to see the sea. Sometimes birds will come in. Downstairs is The swimming pool inside the hotel can only be accessed by swiping the room card. The hotel provides a towel card. You can go to the small window next to the pool to change the towels. After you use the towels, you can exchange the towels for use next time. There are many activities in the hotel. The submarine play items can be purchased just downstairs from the hotel, and the snorkeling can also be purchased downstairs from the hotel. In addition, the food in the hotel is also affordable and the price is acceptable. In short, the supporting facilities in the hotel are very good, which is very suitable for the whole family.

GGinbuHowwanGreat location, just a few minutes from Waikiki Beach. We booked an ocean view room, which was beautiful, and the view wasn't obstructed by the parking lot. The balcony was lovely, very relaxing to sit there, eat, and enjoy the ocean view.
The best part was that even though I'm not a member, they gave me my room at 12 PM, which was incredibly thoughtful.
The Asian cleaning lady was exceptionally kind and enthusiastic every time she saw us. We didn't leave a big tip, but she still thanked us repeatedly and even offered us coffee.
Beach towels can be picked up and returned by scanning your room card. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the first floor, opening at 6 AM.

GGuest UserDuring check-in, the staff mocked my lack of English, laughing and making gestures at other staff members, which I found unpleasant. While all explanations were in English, the departure was in Japanese, so I assumed they understood everything. Upon check-out, I was surprised to see a payment of $1,347.40. After returning home, I called Trip.com and they handled the matter, refunding me $1,030.61. However, they had deducted a $316.79 service charge and other charges that were not included in my travel application. The hotel only sent me a receipt by email, with no apology. The staff member who checked me in and checked me out was the same, so I assumed they knew I didn't speak English before making the payment. It was a shame that my trip was so frustratingly disrupted by the hotel's front desk service.

GGuest UserThis beachfront hotel had a great atmosphere and allowed for a truly elegant stay. Despite a few drawbacks, my overall impression was very positive.
Pros:
* Excellent location (right on the beach)
* Wonderful ambiance in the restaurants like Mai Tai Bar and Surf Lanai
* The historic room felt very clean and full of character.
Cons:
* The information given at check-in was outdated (there were discrepancies between the Japanese and English versions), which meant I missed out on the hotel tour.
* Some restaurant staff seemed more focused on rushing through their duties.
* Noise.

GGuest UserI booked a Sunset Ocean View room specifically to watch the sunset from my room. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, so I only got to see it once, but it was the most amazing sunset. It was great to have a kitchen, which allowed me to cook my own meals and reheat takeout during my stay.
I was a bit disappointed that there was no bathtub, only a shower, which was an oversight on my part. Some days were cool, and with only a weak-pressured shower, it felt a little cold. They didn't replace towels unless they were left on the floor, and despite leaving a note asking for more coffee and tea, they weren't restocked. I was told the sofa bed linens were in the closet, but they weren't there. I had to ask a staff member in the hallway to bring them.
On the plus side, we received two complimentary bottles of water and one ice cream daily, which was a nice touch. The poke bowl shop on the first floor was also delicious. While there are shops selling groceries, they are overpriced, so the nearby ABC Store is a better option for cheaper items. The hotel's location was excellent, within walking distance to Ala Moana Shopping Center and even Waikiki, which was very convenient.
However, the front desk usually only had one or two staff members, and none spoke Japanese. This caused some confusion, as I didn't understand that the security fee was a deposit. Thankfully, I was able to confirm this with their customer service later. The lack of staff meant long waits whenever I had a question, which was inconvenient. Overall, the location was fantastic, and I would love to stay here again if I have the chance.

GGuest UserWe usually stay at this hotel when we're in Hawaii. The staff are all very kind and left a good impression. The rooms have been renovated and are very clean, but this time, housekeeping (towel change, etc.) wasn't done for two days. On the first day, I had to call the front desk just to get the towels changed. I also requested that the room be cleaned the next day, but it still wasn't, so I had to call again before they finally cleaned it. The cleaning staff were pleasant and left a good impression, but both rooms we booked were forgotten. They did clean them after we called a couple of times, and the location is great, so I'd still use this hotel again.

DDanielWe were a bit disappointed initially with the cleanliness as there was a stain on the bed sheet upon entering the room. Thankfully, housekeeping changed it within the hour. The place is located in a central location, close to the beachfront at Waikiki, with a partnership with beachfront stores for beach equipment, as well as GoPros, sunscreen, lotion etc. that can be borrowed, included in the resort rate.
However, the age of the hotel is really starting to show, it is in need of not just a touch up but an overhaul where possible. To be fair, the price, especially that paid for during this period, was a fair representation especially compared to neighbouring downtown hotels, given you do receive much more space and a kitchenette with microwave in the case of the 1 bedroom suite. However, I would say that I would have enjoyed my stay far more if at least some work was put in to modernise the space. In particular, my bathtub had peeling paint, and the colours of the room need some work.
