The Warmest Accommodation I Found in Lijiang I found a truly wonderful place to stay in Lijiang. It was more than just a place to sleep; it was a place where I met wonderful people and received a warm welcome during my trip, so I really wanted to leave a review. 1. Excellent Location A colleague who recommended the trip to Lijiang told me that cars cannot enter the Old Town and that the many stone paths make it difficult to drag a suitcase around. So, I looked for accommodation within the Old Town that wasn't too far from the main road, and it was an excellent choice! There is a bus that goes to the accommodation in front of the train station. The bus doesn't have a name, but if you look at the route map next to the door, you just need to take the bus marked ”Guanwei” (古管委). (5 yuan) It takes less than 5 minutes from the stop to the accommodation (2-3 minutes if you don't have a suitcase), and since it is located just slightly away from the center of the Old Town, it is very quiet while still offering great accessibility. It was especially nice to walk back to the accommodation slowly after sightseeing at Chongyi Market at night. You can walk to Heilongtan and the Lion Mountain viewpoint, and you can also catch the bus to Tiger Leaping Gorge near the aforementioned stop. 2. A Charming and Pretty Accommodation The owner told me that the building is about 40 years old, and they have beautifully decorated every corner while preserving the atmosphere of the old structure. Every single interior decoration item was so pretty and cute that it was fun just looking around the accommodation. Above all, the yard was truly wonderful. I was happy just sitting in the yard, zoning out, without doing anything special. + I don't have any photos of the accommodation itself. The owner gifted me an oxygen tank, and I took a photo to prove it, which I am attaching. The atmosphere was insane. 3. Travelers from Various Countries In all the accommodations I have stayed at so far, I only met Chinese guests, but here, I met travelers from Malaysia, the UK, and Canada. In the evenings, we all ate home-cooked meals prepared by the owner, and the owner even took me to a Chinese Yi festival. Thanks to this, I was able to naturally become friends with other travelers and create wonderful memories even while traveling alone. 4. (Most Important) The Warm and Kind Owner Couple This is the biggest reason why my experience at this accommodation was so special! The owners spoke English, but I couldn't speak Chinese, so we didn't communicate very well. Despite this, they prepared delicious tea for us every day and went out of their way to ensure I could join in the conversation, even using a translator. (The Pu'er tea and Gong Cha were so delicious!!) When we went to Tiger Leaping Gorge, they personally helped us with booking the bus and accommodation, making our trip incredibly comfortable. Seeing how they constantly worried about me and looked after me throughout the trip, I could feel their genuine concern for me. My time in Lijiang felt like a dream, but meeting this guesthouse and the owners was a particularly cherished memory. I was truly grateful that people I met in an unfamiliar city could treat me so warmly. If I ever go back to Lijiang, I will stay here again without hesitation. I highly recommend this place not only to those looking for a comfortable place to stay but also to anyone who wants to meet warm-hearted people while traveling. Our stay at Natural Scenery Hotel was truly one of the highlights of our trip. As foreign visitors in China who do not speak Chinese, choosing this family run hotel near the airport instead of a large international chain turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. After several long flights and arriving in heavy rain, we were exhausted but the hotel made everything incredibly smooth and comforting. We had initially forgotten to arrange their complimentary airport shuttle, but even though the hotel reached out just two hours before arrival, the team responded promptly with clear and detailed instructions on where to meet and how to coordinate, even considering our multiple heavy suitcases. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by several staff members holding huge umbrellas to shield us from the rain. Check-in took no more than three minutes, and we were quickly settled into our room. The room itself was outstanding!! It was very spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable. It har a double-height ceiling, excellent air conditioning, and all the amenities one could need: a modern bathroom with a Japanese-style toilet, a great shower, TV, and thoughtful toiletries including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shower gel. We were so tired that we didn’t even unpack our luggage, we simply used everything provided, which made our stay effortless and relaxing. The next day, Miss Reina went above and beyond by helping us communicate with our next hotel, arranging our transfer, and even accompanying us with her respectable father to ensure we reached safely. Their kindness and dedication truly touched us. Beyond the exceptional service, what made this stay special was the genuine warmth and hospitality of this family run business. As a family of three, we felt truly cared for and welcomed in a way that is rare to find. We highly recommend Natural Scenery Hotel to anyone looking to stay near the airport. In fact, we strongly suggest spending a night nearby. it’s far easier, more comfortable, and much safer after travel. Supporting such a wonderful local business while experiencing authentic Chinese hospitality is an experience not to be missed.

I absolutely adored the ambiance of this small courtyard. Even if I didn't feel like going out to sightsee, just sitting on the rooftop, enjoying the cool breeze, was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. The courtyard's location was clear and easy to find, so there was no worry about getting lost, which made getting around super convenient. It's the perfect spot for a leisurely vacation.

My room was on the third floor, so I couldn't get a direct view of the distant snow-capped mountains. The weather in Lijiang these past few days has been quite good; waking up in the morning and drawing back the curtains revealed beautiful mountain scenery. If the weather is clear, you can wake up early and head straight to the rooftop for a distant view of the 'golden mountain' sunrise over the snow peaks (I'm not sure if it's Jade Dragon Snow Mountain). The room was spacious, very clean, and well-equipped. The guesthouse is located in a quiet village with many other guesthouses nearby, and electric scooter rentals are also available. The courtyard was beautifully maintained, with some flowers and plants. The hosts were very welcoming; the owner even gave us flower cakes and oranges. Every morning, the hostess personally prepared breakfast in the kitchen (rice noodles, dumplings, steamed buns, soy milk, etc.). It was a very satisfying stay.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to Zhongyi Market, and it's literally just around the corner, super convenient! The owner helped us with our luggage both ways, and it's really easy to find places to eat nearby. Plus, there are lots of flowers, a rocking chair, and a sun umbrella right outside the entrance – perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.

What was a bit frustrating was the odor in the bathroom of the first-floor room. It wasn't strong, but it was quite noticeable, probably from sewage backing up in the summer. I hope the owner can improve that... The bed creaked constantly, making a lot of noise when I turned over. The special items I saw when booking, like fruit and flower cakes, didn't seem to be there, and I was too embarrassed to ask the owner... Anyway, the dog was really cute, and that was about it.

The boss is a very gentle and handsome man, and his parents are also very kind and friendly. Very enthusiastic! You can ask him to help book some tourist activities. The hotel is very new and just opened, and it is very close to Shuhe Ancient Town.

After navigating the cobblestone streets of Lijiang Old Town with my luggage for what felt like ages, I finally spotted the wooden sign for Anyun Tianxin Inn at a corner, and was immediately warmed by the sheepskin lantern hanging above the doorway. A steaming cup of Pu'er tea was offered upon arrival, and they mentioned freshly baked flower cakes were in a bamboo basket, encouraging us to have some to tide us over. Our second-floor view room faced Sifang Street directly. In the evening, sitting on the rattan chair on the terrace, we watched Naxi grannies walk by with their bamboo baskets, as the distant Jade Dragon Snow Mountain shimmered faintly in the twilight. The air itself was fragrant with a mix of osmanthus and woody scents. Woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of rain, I pushed open the window to find water accumulated in the stone vat under the eaves, reflecting a sky full of stars. This, I thought, must be the ancient town's most tranquil charm.

This was my first time in Yunnan, and my experience in Lijiang was made truly memorable thanks to this charming, family-run boutique hotel. I arrived very early in the morning after taking an overnight sleeper train from Kunming. Check-in was officially after 2 p.m., so I simply intended to leave my luggage and freshen up before exploring the area. To my pleasant surprise, I was warmly welcomed by Chun Kai, the owner’s son, who was managing the front desk that morning. Upon learning that I had an overnight journey, he kindly offered to let me check in early if a room became available. Within 15 minutes, a freshly cleaned room was ready for me, and I was like wowww and really appreciated it. Throughout my three-night stay, Chun Kai continued to be extremely helpful. Despite having to return to his hometown for his grandmother’s birthday, he was very responsive to all my inquiries about local food, attractions and tips through WeChat. The room was clean, well-maintained and comfortable, with an ensuite bathroom, a water heater and an air-conditioner that doubled as a heater. For the price I paid, the room offered excellent value. In terms of location, the hotel is not situated within Lijiang Ancient City, but that turned out to be an advantage. The surrounding neighborhood is quieter and more affordable, with a wide variety of local eateries and two major supermarkets nearby, i.e. Likelong Supermarket is less than a five-minute walk away, and Walmart is just a bit farther. Above all, it was the kindness and genuine hospitality that left a lasting impression. I found it difficult to leave, despite my short stay. If I return to Lijiang, this hotel will certainly be at the top of my list. P/S: The Google Maps address currently appears to be inaccurate. I recommend contacting the hotel directly for the correct location—entry is via the West Gate.

Family of 6 – From Malaysia First of all, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay here because there weren’t many reviews yet. But I decided to take a chance, and it turned out to be the best decision ever! I’m so grateful to be staying here. The place is very close to the gate, making it easy to get a taxi or Didi. It’s within walking distance to the ancient town, and halal/Muslim food is just nearby! There are many shops around, and everything is very convenient. Plus, it’s affordable! The rooms have heaters and blanket heaters, and the hot water works great. The Wi-Fi is fast, too. But what I think is most important are the incredibly kind and helpful owner and her friend. They are extremely supportive and solved all my problems. They also reply to my messages quickly! I booked something online, and they helped me receive the package. They also assisted with my logistics, which was so helpful for me as a mother of four. It can be tiring to think about everything at once, but they made it so much easier. I’m overwhelmed by how caring and generous these two ladies are. 🥹🥹🥹 They also arranged our trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and we had a private tour just for our family. We were driven in a luxury car, which was very comfortable for us. This is my daughter’s first time in China, and she has fallen in love with the Chinese people because they are so friendly and kind. We feel very safe staying here. I highly recommend this place! Just ask the owner if you need anything—they will help you with whatever they can. I hope I can repay your kindness in some way.
