"The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. There were several good restaurants nearby and a large supermarket about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel staff were especially kind; upon learning that our backpacks and passports had just been stolen in London (taken away after we were out of sight for a few minutes), they provided us with much-needed assistance, including photocopies needed for our travel documents. They promised to call the Turkish consulate to confirm our travel documents' entry requirements, and all of this was free. The girl who greeted us the first day was still there the next day, saying we could contact her if needed. An older lady and the man who helped us with the photocopies were also very kind. —All of this made us feel comforted and warm (compared to the Chinese Embassy in London where we later applied for our documents: photocopying was charged, the travel document issued to us for £14 only guaranteed our return to China, with no other guarantees. They even refused to help us call the Turkish embassy)."
