"The courtyard gets plenty of sun and has a lively atmosphere. There's a door on the third floor that leads to the rooftop platform of the building opposite, perfect for getting a full, all-around tan three shades darker. Definitely don't take kids up to the rooftop though! Occasionally, a few local residents gather in the courtyard to play ping-pong, which is quite fun to watch. The front desk staff, three young women and one young man, were all very helpful. The guy even helped me carry my luggage up to my room, which I really appreciated! In the evenings, there's an older gentleman at the front desk. Overall, it was a really great and comfortable stay. I didn't take many photos, so here's just a random one."

"We literally walked into a “time travel” place back to ancient house equipped with modern facilities, the host was extremely courteous, friendly and very helpful too, they led and help us with our luggage from where were dropped off by Didi driver the nearest point before the pedestrian street of the ancient town starts. The hotel is located with the ancient town and a short walk from the famous 金馬Square at where modern buzzing commercial centres located in Kunming. Good place to stay for the experience of an ancient “house” with good breakfast, facilities and friendly host."

"This hotel is truly a hidden gem! The room was spacious and spotless, with excellent facilities that really surprised me. Even though it's close to the airport, the windows are well-sealed, keeping it nice and quiet. The free airport shuttle service was a huge convenience. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and the housekeeping team always greeted me, making me feel right at home. They even gave me some flower cakes as a welcome gift! Downstairs, there are shops and restaurants where you can buy things, or enjoy Yunnan rice noodles and mushroom hotpot, or even mushroom dumplings – super convenient! What really impressed me was that after I checked out, the hotel called me to let me know I'd left something small in my room. The service here is truly outstanding! For the price, this hotel far exceeded all my expectations!"

"Very convenient location, practically the nearest hotel to the airport I can find. There is a shuttle bus to the airport, we took the 430am bus to catch an early morning flight. Bed is comfortable, water heat is good. There doesn't seem to be an independent heater in the room though. The building looks old from the outside but the rooms look recently renovated."

"Front desk service staff were obliging and friendly, and willing to grant a late check out. We were also offered a free upgrade to a suite without asking for it, so the extra space and powder room were great.
Walking distance to Plaza 66, many traditional tea shops nearby and a very short 5 min Didi ride to The Mixc Kunming mall which I highly recommend as a modern place to shop and dine at! Many good options.
We were also promptly supplied with a heater when we found the wind entering the room through the windows.
Dont expect lush and pristine furnishings but definitely an economical option in central Kunming. Overall, a reassuring and comfortable stay - bedding was really comfortable with BOTH firm and soft pillows properly indicated on the cases."

Over time, I've practically become a regular, familiar not only with the hotel's layout and facilities, but also having built strong friendships with all the young men and women at the front desk. This friendship began simply: from their genuine and polite smiles on our first meeting, to the warm greetings and easy chats during every check-in now. We've developed an unspoken understanding, a默契 that allows us to grasp each other's needs without many words. Whether it's reserving a quiet room for me or patiently answering my questions about local cuisine, they are always professional and attentive. They even remember my coffee preference and prepare a hot drink in advance. These young people are cheerful and kind-hearted, full of energy at work, and sometimes share personal anecdotes during their breaks, like weekend travel stories or family tidbits, which make me feel the warmth of home. We all get along wonderfully, respecting and helping each other. XXiangchuankuchadeyuI've been to Kunming for business a few times, but this is my first stay at this hotel, and it really exceeded my expectations! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. While checking in, they thoughtfully offered me a cup of hot ginger water because it was a bit chilly, which was a very sweet gesture. They even put a protective sleeve on my ID card – it's the little details that make all the difference. I can only say I'm extremely satisfied. The room was very clean and tidy, with a modern and spacious layout that made for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious, clean, and hygienic. The hotel is also very close to both the metro station and Kunming Railway Station, with tons of great food options nearby. Choosing Aiman Huajian Hotel for this trip to Kunming was definitely the right decision. I'll be back again next time!

The front desk staff was very welcoming and helped me upgrade my room. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel's surroundings are also quite nice, with several local restaurants nearby offering delicious food. The hotel offers airport drop-off service, wake-up calls, and grab-and-go breakfast options, which is very thoughtful. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance.

After grabbing your luggage, you just head up to the second floor for the hotel, and the third floor has all the dining options. Super handy! WWeisili2047Our independent trip to Yunnan concluded in Kunming, our final stop. We chose the Four Points by Sheraton Kunming, City Center because it's right next to Kunming's old town, placing us in the most vibrant part of downtown. Adjacent to it is the upscale Shuncheng Shopping Mall, and the Wuyi Road Station (Exit B) of Metro Line 3 is just 200 meters away.
We stayed on the 28th floor, offering fantastic views of the Jinma Biji Archway, both day and night. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering advice on transportation and tourist attractions from a local's perspective. I really appreciate their assistance.
The room was very clean, with a wide selection of live TV channels. The bathroom had modern shower facilities, and the bed and other amenities were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.
A short 10-minute walk takes you to the 'Paper-Thin Buildings' in Kunming's old town (such as Duiyue Tower and Jiubei Tower, built to commemorate the 1946 victory in the Anti-Japanese War), which are quite lively in the evening. Nearby, you can also find the former residence of Mr. Nie Er (born in Kunming, he passed away at 23). The pedestrian area boasts many excellent restaurants, coffee shops, tea houses, and bars, making it easy to find good food and enjoy some leisure time.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
