Kunming Hotels with Gym

Location: Conveniently situated yet peaceful amidst the hustle and bustle. If you are coming from the train station, we recommend taking the diagonal path shown in the photos; it's much easier for pulling luggage than walking all the way along Yongsheng Road, saving you from constantly going up and down curbs or having your suitcase wheels rattle painfully against the paving stones. For getting around later, hailing a cab right outside the hotel is very convenient, and taxi fares to all the major attractions are quite cheap. Amenities: The room is very spacious, the TV is huge, and the bedding is extremely comfortable. The front desk staff and everyone else we met were super welcoming, even upgrading the room for our elderly family members. The breakfast was also delicious. The bedside features a smart control panel and a Type-C charging port, perfect for people who like to use their phones or laptops while lying in bed. Thoughtful Details: There are directional signs to the elevator near the door lock, disposable toilet seat covers in the restroom, and facial cleansing towels provided in the sink area. In the room type I booked, the bathroom is right outside the toilet and a clothing-hanging area, which is very convenient for anyone who wants to change clothes or apply body lotion right after taking a shower (though layout may vary by room type). There is an electronic mosquito repellant on the nightstand, and the best part is the complimentary laundry service—unless you drop off your clothes quite late, you can get them back washed and dried on the same day. Drawbacks: The only thing that needs improvement is the flush toilet. Every time you sit down and activate it, it starts flushing, but the water splashes quite violently (to the point of getting your bottom wet). I'm not sure if this is the case in every room, but both rooms we booked had this issue. Both I and the elderly family members had a wonderfully satisfying stay this time. Thumbs up to the entire hotel staff! 👍🏻

The hotel in Kunming turned out even better than we could have imagined. It exceeded all expectations — and that’s not just a figure of speech. The service makes you feel welcome from the very first minute: the staff are attentive, courteous, and ready to help with anything. You can feel genuine care. The rooms are a pleasure in themselves. Everything is new, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated. You can see that the designer put their soul into it: every detail is in its place, everything is beautifully and harmoniously styled. The hotel is excellently equipped, and the amenities are top-notch. We had several surprises. The staff gave us flowers and tea — it was unexpected and very warm. Then they delighted us with afternoon tea. Later they offered us a late dinner. Everything was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. We were genuinely surprised by such attention. Another plus is the beautiful view and the warm pool — a great place to relax. Overall, the impressions are the best. We liked everything very much, and I confidently recommend this hotel.

Much more than just an airport transit hotel! We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Kunming Airport for one night as we had an early morning flight the following day, so we initially chose it purely for convenience. However, the hotel turned out to be so much more than just a place to sleep before a flight. We arrived quite late at night, but the check-in was smooth and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade upon arrival. Our room was fantastic — spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was huge, with a separate bathtub and shower area, and there was simply so much space throughout the room. We were travelling with two children under four, and the room was very thoughtfully designed with plenty of space for everyone without feeling cramped. We were also celebrating our child’s birthday, and the hotel kindly arranged some birthday decorations in the room along with a birthday cake. It was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture, especially considering we were only staying for one night. Our room rate also included warm welcome cookies, which were absolutely delicious and probably some of the best hotel welcome cookies we’ve had! We also received complimentary supper — Mixian noodles — which could only be redeemed at the lobby restaurant. It would have been even better if the supper could be delivered to the room, especially for families travelling with young children, but the noodles themselves were very good. The airport transfer the following morning was another highlight. We were travelling as a family of four and initially expected to share a shuttle bus, but instead we were given a private MPV with our own driver. The vehicle was high quality, spacious and very comfortable, and the whole transfer was smooth and hassle-free. It was a really great way to end our stay before an early flight. Overall, we were genuinely impressed by this hotel. The combination of the excellent service, spacious and comfortable rooms, thoughtful birthday arrangements, great amenities and private airport transfer made this feel much more like a proper hotel stay than a typical airport transit hotel. We only stayed for one night and didn’t have much opportunity to explore the hotel or surrounding area, but based on our experience, we would happily stay here again even if we weren’t flying out of Kunming Airport. A particularly great choice for families travelling with young children.

A great, well-established hotel. While the facilities may not be as modern as newer properties, the service standards are very high. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is abundant and distinctive. The location is fantastic, very close to the subway, with three shopping malls downstairs and the historic old street just steps away. There was a minor issue with the showerhead, but the hotel promptly resolved it and even sent up a fruit platter, plus a welcome gift upon checkout.

Such a pleasant surprise! We were given a free upgrade to a suite upon check-in, which was absolute bliss ✨ The room is very spacious, with a comfortable layout, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped. The service was exceptionally warm and attentive, with great attention to detail. The overall experience exceeded expectations, and the value for money is unbeatable. I will definitely choose this hotel again for my layover in Kunming. Highly recommended!!

The environment is great, and the hotel is new and very clean. The breakfast is rich, offering Yunnan specialties like rice noodles, flower cakes, and cured ham pancakes. You can also make your own rose fermented rice milk, which is delicious! The bed is very comfortable, and they provide complimentary makeup remover wipes and steam eye masks. Kiki called to ask if we needed anything, and since there were three of us, they prepared three sets of toiletries. The front desk also helped us add an extra breakfast, which was much appreciated! It's not far from attractions like Green Lake, and I'll definitely consider staying here again next time I visit Kunming. :)

Overall, it was genuinely great. I stayed here with my parents and child, and the beds were quite large. The breakfast was plentiful; though I didn't get to try it, my parents did and they were very happy, which made me happy too. The front desk staff was excellent. When my child wasn't feeling well, they told us which hospital to go to, and all our questions and issues were communicated and resolved promptly. The hotel also has a laundry room. It was a pleasant stay, and the location was convenient for getting everywhere. Really good!

This 5-star hotel in downtown Kunming easily gets a solid 10/10 from me—the value for money is off the charts. Location: While it’s a bit of a distance from the main attractions, it sits conveniently right in the middle of everything. It's a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. I especially loved the entrance being tucked away on a slight slope, offering far more privacy than most trendy, ”Instagrammable” hotels. Service: Absolutely top-tier, a full 10/10. Every single staff member I encountered was incredibly professional, carrying themselves with dignity, warmth, and grace. They were proactive in greeting guests, offering help, solving issues, and checking in on our experience. These subtle details truly showcase the management quality of a long-standing, prestigious local 5-star hotel. Room & Amenities: We upgraded from the originally booked 210-degree panoramic room to an Executive Suite, and it was worth every penny. The suite was significantly more spacious, with a much better layout and view. It featured two bathrooms with separate wet and dry areas. On top of that, we enjoyed complimentary access to the 32nd-floor Executive Lounge. The stay was so comfortable that we ended up extending for another two nights. Value for Money: Beyond amazing. Rates went up slightly during the National Day holiday, but the increase was so minimal it was genuinely heartwarming. Overall: We will definitely be back! This will still be my top choice next time I visit Kunming. Just hope the prices don't go up, haha!

Excellent facilities and service that exceeded expectations! The staff were very friendly. The only minor drawback is the lack of a self-service laundry machine. The hot spring was very comfortable, with options for surfing, massage, and hydrotherapy. It was very relaxing. I will definitely come back again.

Such a wonderful experience! The service wasn't compromised at all despite the reasonable price. From the moment we pulled up to the entrance, staff were right there to open the car doors and help with our luggage—super warm and attentive. Even the housekeeping staff would proactively smile and greet us whenever we passed by. I've stayed at plenty of 5-star hotels, but the service here genuinely topped many of them. The room was on the smaller side, but totally reasonable for the price; it was just enough space for our family of two adults and two kids. The sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window added a nice, cozy touch to the room's vibe. Other major highlights include the very generous breakfast spread, a gorgeous pool with crystal-clear water, and a huge gym! The location is also fantastic—right in the city center, making it super convenient to get around. Plus, the famous Puyu Bookstore is right nearby! All in all, if you're not just rushing through a tourist checklist and aren't overly picky about ultra-luxurious rooms, this hotel is a solid choice.
