"A wonderful hideaway for a hot spring getaway. The private courtyard comes with its own hot tub, or you can switch things up and use the public pools. In the evenings, you can catch a stunning sunset, and the Ancient Dian Kingdom Museum is right across the way. The villa's amenities are top-notch, and it's very clean, even including a private sauna. There weren't any bugs this season, which made it a super comfortable and relaxing spot for a few friends to unwind. The breakfast and dinner at the mountaintop restaurant are both excellent, and they do Western dishes really well too!"

"This hotel is located right in the city center, with a lively pedestrian street and plenty of great food options downstairs. The halal beef pancakes right outside are delicious and always have a long queue! If you turn right out of the hotel and pass Nanning Street, you'll reach Shuncheng Shopping Mall, which boasts numerous restaurants. The Wuyi Road metro station is also right next to it. You can easily walk to Cuihu Park and several other pedestrian streets from the hotel, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety of dishes, including local Yunnan specialties like Er'si and rice noodles. The hotel maintains the high standards of Sheraton (Marriott), and the room facilities are excellent. The lovely front desk staff even upgraded my room and gave me a fruit platter. My room on the 28th floor offered expansive city views. For transportation to Kunming Station, if you're in a hurry, I'd recommend a taxi as there might not be a direct metro line due to the complex underground structure of the old city. One suggestion I have is to place ashtrays (or poles) outside the entrance. This would prevent guests who step out to smoke from a non-smoking hotel from littering cigarette butts."

"Our butler, Bianca, was incredibly warm and attentive. She anticipated our needs and even gave a souvenir to my child. A huge bonus was not having to go downstairs to pick up food deliveries; the concierge brought them directly to our room! The hotel's central location is perfect, directly connected to the Plaza 66 mall. On days with bad weather, we could easily pop over to the mall for some shopping. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Kunming!"

"This is an excellent hotel! I'm getting on in years, so I'm a bit slow and hard of hearing. When I was checking in, I asked a lot of questions, but Xiao Sun at the front desk was incredibly patient. She spoke gently and explained everything to me slowly and clearly, word by word. When I wanted to know about places to visit nearby or bus routes, the front desk staff patiently gave me detailed directions and even reminded me to be careful when I went out. One night, I had a small issue and called the front desk, and they were very enthusiastic and helpful in resolving it. I highly recommend staying here!"

"The location is pretty good, close to Plaza 66, about an 8-minute walk. The hotel's concierge service was good; staff were always there to greet us multiple times when we entered and exited. We booked connecting rooms, but they were externally connected, not internally. This made it inconvenient, especially when the kids were asleep, as the sound of swiping the card to enter the room was quite loud. So, it wasn't ideal. The room was too small; the bathroom and shower were cramped together, and there wasn't enough space to turn around. It felt very restrictive. Breakfast was just average. Not many varieties, but the quality was decent. The freshly squeezed juice was watered down, and the watermelon juice wasn't good. Overall, I didn't really feel like there was much service."

"This stay far exceeded my expectations! As soon as I walked in, the front desk staff greeted me warmly. Our butler, Coco, handled the check-in process quickly and efficiently. The room was also very clean, spacious, and odor-free, with fluffy, soft bedding. The air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly. The staff were polite and attentive, responding promptly to any requests. They also thoughtfully provided various snacks, drinks, and tea in the lobby. Even late at night, they delivered mineral water promptly when requested. The front desk even had various small items available for free use, which was fantastic! The front desk staff also kindly introduced us to nearby attractions, making this place suitable for both tourism and business trips."

"Five stars, highly recommended! This is an old, established state guesthouse in Kunming that you absolutely must stay at. Its heritage, views, and service are all top-notch. The location is unbeatable, directly facing Cuihu Park. Open the French windows and you're greeted with lake views and weeping willows. In autumn and winter, you can even spot red-billed gulls. Yunnan University and the Yunnan Military Academy are within walking distance, making it convenient for exploring the old city without much travel. The hotel's design was partly conceived by I.M. Pei, blending new Chinese style with retro Art Deco. The lobby's gilded lotus sculpture, rosewood carvings, and vintage staircase create an incredible ambiance. The gardens are tranquil and elegant, and every photo you take captures the unique, understated elegance of a historic five-star hotel. Service is gentle, understated, and perfectly balanced, never intrusive. Upon check-in, guests receive fresh flowers and welcome fruits, and the room is refreshed daily with Yunnan-style floral arrangements. Turndown service includes peach gum and white fungus soup, along with seagull-shaped cookies – thoughtful details that truly shine. The 24-hour butler service is on-call, and staff members politely greet guests, always professional and sincere. The room comfort exceeded expectations. The bedding is soft and plush, and the soundproofing is excellent. During the dry season, the whole-house humidity control system is a lifesaver, especially for those with allergies. The bathroom features a built-in TV in the bathtub and electric privacy glass. All mini-bar drinks are complimentary, and there's even freshly ground Yunnan small-grain coffee, adding a distinct local touch. Breakfast is served in the lake-view restaurant, offering a rich variety of authentic dishes, including freshly prepared Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, 'posu bao' (flaky steamed buns), and rose 'naiba Jiu' (a local milky wine). Dining by the lake creates an exceptional atmosphere. The accompanying heated pool is clean and uncrowded, perfect for relaxation. Whether for business or leisure, this hotel is perfectly suited. Its century-old refined quality is irreplaceable. I will definitely choose Cuihu Hotel again on my next visit to Kunming!"
