R.TeoLocation is a big plus here — right next to the convention center, a shopping mall with tons of dining and shopping options, and DiDaDi outdoor theme park is literally just outside the hotel. The kids loved it and kept themselves busy the whole time.
Rooms were great and the outdoor bathtub was a nice bonus. We had a minor hiccup with the AC going out overnight, but the manager was super responsive and got us moved to a new room without any hassle since the technician wasn’t around over the weekend. Really appreciated that.
Free breakfast and supper are both included, and honestly both were really good — plenty of variety and everything tasted great.
Oh, and don’t sleep on the hotel’s rooftop photo shoot. The views up there are stunning and it’s a proper must-do during your stay.
All in all, a really enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

Anonymous UserThe hotel is located in the old city, within walking distance of Old Street and Shuncheng Shopping Center. There are bars, coffee shops, and art galleries nearby. The room is spacious and well-equipped, and there's a self-service laundry room with washers and dryers on the 7th floor, which is very convenient. The breakfast selection was limited and the taste was average. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful when answering questions, but when I checked out with a lot of luggage, no one offered any assistance.

liang2007The hotel boasts an excellent location right by Dianchi Lake. You can walk through the nearby Haigeng Convention Center directly to Haigeng Dam. To the right, there's a pier where you can take a boat, and there are many restaurants as well. The hotel staff were all very welcoming and proactive, greeting us and offering to help with luggage. The front desk even provided complimentary children's breakfast and a late check-out. The breakfast spread was extensive, and there was an evening performance in the lobby. The room was very comfortable, and we even had squirrels visit our balcony! The only downside was that our room was quite far from the main area; buildings 5, 6, 7, and 8 only have one elevator, so it was a long walk every time we left or returned to our room.

Guest UserWhile the hotel room facilities are a bit dated, with old carpets and a slightly cramped bathroom with only one sink, the strong water pressure made for a comfortable shower. The air conditioning was just okay, and the soundproofing was decent. As an older five-star hotel, Wanda Vista truly shines in its service. Front desk manager Mr./Ms. Yang was kind and friendly, helping us arrange an extended stay and providing excellent advice and assistance with our Yunnan travel plans. The front desk is often a guest's first impression, and we're very grateful to Mr./Ms. Yang for starting our stay off so well. The restaurant's breakfast offered a good variety, and the taste was acceptable. The breakfast staff were incredibly sincere and service-oriented in their greetings and assistance. I even noticed one or two pregnant staff members in the breakfast area who were still meticulously and efficiently going about their work. The executive lounge didn't have a huge selection of dishes, but everything was fresh and replenished promptly. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly, and the room was kept clean. The hotel's location is super convenient. Overall, it's definitely worth another stay.

I rarely write reviews unless a hotel is exceptionally good or utterly unbearable. This hotel is absolutely amazing!!! On our first day, our room wasn't ready yet, so the front desk sent us to the executive lounge on a higher floor to relax and wait. The lounge offered drinks, coffee, homemade yogurt, tea, cookies, nuts, and dried fruits – all delicious! The lounge staff were also very welcoming and informative. On the morning of our departure, my child couldn't wake up for breakfast. When I spoke to the restaurant staff, they immediately arranged a takeaway box with food, fruit, bread, eggs, and yogurt – so thoughtful! At check-out, the front desk even gave us a box of fresh flower pastries. They didn't even push for a good review; it was incredibly heartwarming. I'll definitely stay here again next time. The transportation is excellent too; it's a 10-minute walk from Kunming Station, and the subway is just a few minutes away. The hotel's bellboys are also very enthusiastic, always proactively helping guests with their luggage when getting in and out of cars! The rooms are spacious and upscale. Absolutely fantastic!!! What could be improved are the bathroom's ventilation and drainage systems, and perhaps adding a night light.

Guest UserTo start with: it's been a long time since I've had such a satisfying experience.
**Facilities**: This is a hot spring resort that's well-maintained despite its age. Villa 10 is perfectly situated, and the facilities are in excellent condition – not a single sliding door was out of order or stuck, which is quite impressive. However, it would be even better if the front door locks were upgraded.
**Cleanliness**: Very clean, very satisfied.
**Environment**: I walked all around the resort grounds; the scenery is beautiful. Beyond the expansive lake views, there's also a hidden gem of a pond with bald cypress trees.
**Service**: Absolutely more than five points, more than five stars – truly perfect. The golf carts were available on call, and the turndown service was meticulous. A special thanks to Ms. Yang at the front desk for helping to coordinate our departure transfer, adding another wonderful touch to our trip.
**Afternoon Tea Experience**: The taste was exquisite; I even worried I might never find such delicious pastries elsewhere again.
**Airport Transfer Service**: The transfer car was good, and the driver was skilled and provided thoughtful service.
**Outdoor Garden Hot Spring Experience**: The hot springs were great. The bathing area even thoughtfully provided a stool for seniors, though the lighting in the changing area was really too dim to see the locker numbers.
**Food**: The food was also good. I really liked the mushroom and radish dish at dinner, and the roasted duck was unique. The breakfast rice noodles were outstanding! And the gulls loved the birdseed provided for them too.

The hotel environment is fantastic, right next to Yulongwan Park. There's a small path leading to the back entrance of the park, and it's lush with greenery, making the air really fresh. The front desk staff (especially the young lady) was super friendly and provided excellent service. The room was spacious, and all the drinks in the minibar were complimentary. It also had a balcony, perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying a cup of tea – super relaxing!

RyanMoriartyFive stars, highly recommended! This is an old, established state guesthouse in Kunming that you absolutely must stay at. Its heritage, views, and service are all top-notch.
The location is unbeatable, directly facing Cuihu Park. Open the French windows and you're greeted with lake views and weeping willows. In autumn and winter, you can even spot red-billed gulls. Yunnan University and the Yunnan Military Academy are within walking distance, making it convenient for exploring the old city without much travel.
The hotel's design was partly conceived by I.M. Pei, blending new Chinese style with retro Art Deco. The lobby's gilded lotus sculpture, rosewood carvings, and vintage staircase create an incredible ambiance. The gardens are tranquil and elegant, and every photo you take captures the unique, understated elegance of a historic five-star hotel.
Service is gentle, understated, and perfectly balanced, never intrusive. Upon check-in, guests receive fresh flowers and welcome fruits, and the room is refreshed daily with Yunnan-style floral arrangements. Turndown service includes peach gum and white fungus soup, along with seagull-shaped cookies – thoughtful details that truly shine. The 24-hour butler service is on-call, and staff members politely greet guests, always professional and sincere.
The room comfort exceeded expectations. The bedding is soft and plush, and the soundproofing is excellent. During the dry season, the whole-house humidity control system is a lifesaver, especially for those with allergies. The bathroom features a built-in TV in the bathtub and electric privacy glass. All mini-bar drinks are complimentary, and there's even freshly ground Yunnan small-grain coffee, adding a distinct local touch.
Breakfast is served in the lake-view restaurant, offering a rich variety of authentic dishes, including freshly prepared Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, 'posu bao' (flaky steamed buns), and rose 'naiba Jiu' (a local milky wine). Dining by the lake creates an exceptional atmosphere. The accompanying heated pool is clean and uncrowded, perfect for relaxation.
Whether for business or leisure, this hotel is perfectly suited. Its century-old refined quality is irreplaceable. I will definitely choose Cuihu Hotel again on my next visit to Kunming!

Guest UserFacilities: The TV picture quality wasn't great, and while it said there was wireless charging by the bed, it didn't work. The wet/dry separation in the shower wasn't good, and the showerhead was difficult to position. The bed was very comfortable, and I really liked the desk and chair.
Cleanliness: It was pretty good, but not perfect. For example, I accidentally stained the shower door the day before, and it was still the same the next day.
Environment: The environment was great and very quiet. There was a slight issue with soundproofing, but it didn't really affect anything. The bar and gym were excellent!
Service: The service was fantastic! The front desk, bar staff, housekeeping, and even the pillow delivery were all thorough and excellent.

TinkSPBeautiful hotel. Bed was comfortable with full pillow selection! Bathroom had separate shower and bath tub. It is connected to a mall and easy walk to alot of wonderful food and shopping which was helpful when it was raining. We truly appreciated the desk staff. My husband had left an item on the train. They contacted the station on our behalf and helped to find it and arrange for us to pick it up. This was only a connection to our next destination but it was a welcomed stop. Definitely explore! We found the most wonderful bakery by walking aimlessly while enjoying the city views.
