Scenic Hotels in Kobe

"Great hotel to stay in and relax. They have everything we need to rest with comforts, onsen, sauna, massage chair, free ramen every night and free ice cream after onsen, just to name a few. Our room (18sqm) is more spacious than the typical business hotel. Hotel location is good, right at the edge of Kobe Chinatown, 3 min walk to the Kobe Motomachi Shopping Street, 7 min walk to the nearest JR Line of Hanshin Line Motomachi Station and 10-15min to Sannomiya Center Gai Shopping Street."

"This colonial-style hotel is imbued with a strong maritime theme from the lobby to the bar, restaurant, and executive lounge. Every detail, from the ceiling fans, shutters, telescopes, heavy wooden desks, and leather chairs in the rooms, to the tropical plants and wicker weaving in the restaurant, and the magenta swan display rack and fabric sofas in the lobby, exudes a refined charm with a sense of history. The hotel breakfast was also quite good, with a satisfying variety and excellent quality. This time, my room included a minibar and executive lounge access. The minibar was superb, with delicious complimentary chocolates and snacks for drinks, as well as local beer and fresh juices. However, please note that the executive lounge does not allow children, so unfortunately, I couldn't experience it fully this time, only went in for a quick look. My child did get a huge, delicious cookie. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Kobe!"

"I've stayed at this hotel multiple times. It's my top choice for value for money in Sannomiya. The location is super convenient, and the rooms are clean and modern. It's just a few minutes' walk directly from Sannomiya Station, making transfers to Osaka and Kyoto easy. Downstairs, there's a 7-Eleven and a gyudon restaurant. Check-in is self-service and super fast. The 24-hour front desk offers free luggage storage. The breakfast is rich and varied, providing all the nutrition you need for the day."

"Compared to Kyoto, the Monterey in Kobe offers much better service. Sona is quite small, and lately, there's been too much of a Korean presence there. Although the hotel is a short walk from the station, it's still easy to find. There is indeed a red-light district nearby, making it a bit noisy and messy (though understandable). The room layout is reasonable, the TV supports screen mirroring, and the toiletries are generously provided, with the DHC lotion being particularly good. Don Quijote is just a short walk away, and it's very convenient to get to Sannomiya Station and Kitano Ijinkan (home to the famous 'Life Toast' and the 70-year-old coffee shop), all within walking distance. The breakfast selection is rich and delicious, with the bread being a pleasant surprise. On a side note, you should definitely avoid the Monterey in Kyoto. Their unfriendliness towards Chinese guests is blatant, especially from the middle-aged Japanese female receptionist! She denied us available rooms unless we insisted and argued on the spot. She also reneged on a promised room type change, even rolling her eyes when a colleague confirmed it with her.🙄"

"Kobe is an excellent destination for a comfortable family trip with kids. It offers mountains, the sea, cable cars, parks, an aquarium, a Ferris wheel, night views, and shopping. We chose this hotel purely for its convenient location, especially with children. It's right above Sannomiya Station, Kobe's largest transportation hub (buses, private railways, JR trains all in one place), making getting around incredibly easy. The room wasn't huge but perfectly adequate. It's a shame we weren't assigned a high-floor room this time; we would have loved to enjoy the city's night view from up there. I hope Trip.com can pay more attention to requests from Black Diamond members. We look forward to visiting Kobe again, and if we're not staying overnight at Arima Onsen, this hotel will definitely remain our top choice for 2-3 nights."

"We stayed at Negiya Ryofukaku in Arima Onsen during the maple leaf season, opting for the West Wing's deluxe Japanese-Western mixed room with a mountain view. The hotel staff were incredibly attentive and thoughtful, making us feel truly comfortable. Looking out the window, the mountain was ablaze with vibrant red maple leaves, like a flowing oil painting—the scenery far exceeded our expectations. Upon check-out, the hotel even thoughtfully arranged a car to take us to Arima Station, which was incredibly convenient."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly, and always willing to help with any request. The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable throughout my stay. The view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful and made the experience even more memorable. The food was also excellent, with a great variety of delicious dishes. Overall, everything exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and relaxing stay."

"Overall, our stay was good, especially the location. The room is a bit old but still well maintained. However, we were not happy with one aspect of the service. A staff member (possibly a manager or senior from the F&B team) was not very professional and came across as quite rude. He physically blocked us from entering the breakfast area without listening to our explanation. We clearly mentioned that our friend was already inside and had a table, and we were just trying to confirm the table number. However, he insisted we go to Level 1 for breakfast and did not allow us to explain further. We had to go back and forth between the lift, trying to contact our friend, which was quite frustrating. Only after we showed him a photo did he finally allow us to enter. What surprised us most was that the restaurant was actually quite empty, with many available tables. We don’t understand why we were told it was full and asked to go elsewhere. We hope the hotel can improve staff communication and professionalism to avoid similar situations in the future."

"This is my second time staying here. It's really convenient, quite close to both JR Sannomiya and Hankyu Sannomiya stations. Right next to the hotel there's a really well-stocked Hankyu OASIS supermarket, which is super handy for groceries. The hotel rooms are clean, and they offer complimentary tea and drinks from afternoon till evening, plus there's a happy hour."

"Cleanliness: The room had bugs; I killed 3 on the first night. Service: The service was very thoughtful. They helped carry luggage into the room and even set up the tatami. At check-out, they proactively helped take luggage to the front desk. Facilities: It's a very old wooden house. You can't make loud noises at night, as it genuinely disturbs others. Environment: It's very close to Arima Onsen Station, about a 5-minute walk, right in the center of the hot spring town. Overall, it's very convenient."
