GGenOhlsonA cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings.
Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends.
The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on.
There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn.
A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day.
The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish.
The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there.
My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

XXiaotaiyanghuilongmaoxiaoThis guesthouse was an unexpected gem during our Chongqing trip. What truly touched us wasn't just its connection to Xiao Zhan, but the genuine care we received late at night. When my friend fell ill in the early hours, the guesthouse staff responded promptly at 3 AM, delivering medicine and food right to our door. This kind of support in a foreign city was incredibly moving and reassuring.
The views from the guesthouse are also captivating. Lush greenery fills the windows, overlooking the river bridge and the bustling city lights, perfectly capturing the multi-layered and romantic essence of Mountain City. The atmosphere is both free-spirited and poetic. Our stay was solid and comfortable: over five consecutive nights, our room remained spotless, equipped with all necessary amenities, and the complimentary, exquisite afternoon tea was a thoughtful touch. This place perfectly blends Chongqing's vibrant energy with the warmth of a guesthouse. It wasn't just a successful check-in; it's a reason to return.

DDaoyiFor my trip to Chongqing this time, I once again chose the hotel on Longmenhao Old Street. I discovered this gem about a year and a half ago during a business trip. Back then, I passed by 'Banshan' and it was still under renovation, but it quietly piqued my interest. This time, I finally got to stay there. It's exactly the民國 (Minguo/Republic of China) style I adore. The architecture is absolutely stunning; even the tops of the windows are carved, which I assume are original features of the building. Upon closer inspection, some parts of the decor are a bit rough, and the amenities aren't as comprehensive as other hotels. However, it offers great value for money. The hotel's housekeeper was incredibly enthusiastic and helped us carry our two very large suitcases in and out. The location is excellent. We were able to walk to see the New Year's Eve drone show. Xiahao Li itself has many places to explore. There's so much delicious food around that staying here for two days makes it easy to gain weight! 😂 Plus, the hotel has very cute cats, which is a bonus [chuckle]. And the hotel coffee is also very good.

GGuest UserThe room has an amazing view, you can see Hongyadong right from the living room. The night view was absolutely stunning, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. There are tons of food options downstairs, and the housekeeper was incredibly thoughtful, turning on the AC before I arrived and waiting for me at the door. I'll definitely book this place again next time I'm in Chongqing.

GGuest UserThis four-diamond hotel truly delivered five-star service. My room was a good size, and the overall ambiance, service, and dining were all of a high standard. The tranquil lobby, with its constant elegant and soft music, always brightened my mood. The hotel manager was also quick to address and resolve any issues I encountered. Guests can feel completely at ease here, and it offers excellent value for money. I left in such a hurry that I actually forgot to leave a review, even though the hotel was surprisingly good! The service was excellent from the start, especially the front desk staff, who even escorted me to the elevator. The hotel's interior environment matched the photos exactly – it was clean and had a great design aesthetic. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

The only downside is that there is drainage smell when we enter the building. And also the coridor carpet looks dirty. But for this price, it's ok for us.
Would recommend this hotel for any traveller looking for affordable hotels in great location.

JJo TehThe property could benefit from some updates and maintenance. One of the queen bedrooms was converted from a balcony, making it extremely cold during winter. Additionally, the heater in one of the rooms next to the hall was not working, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep through the night.
The bathroom in one of the rooms remained choked throughout our stay, and overall, the bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen also lacked proper cleanliness, which was disappointing.
On a positive note, the view from the hall was decent, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the shortcomings in comfort and cleanliness.
