"The hotel itself is good, and I noticed many foreign guests staying here. I'm giving full marks (5/5) for hygiene and environment. The room was very clean, and the hotel environment was also excellent. The room facilities are neither new nor old, which is understandable given it's an established hotel. However, the service at this type of hotel really lags behind... 1. For such a large hotel, there's no proper hotel WeChat concierge to contact. This became even more frustrating when the room service phone line was busy. 2. Upon check-in, we weren't proactively informed about breakfast times, its location, or Wi-Fi information. Even though we had children with us (and noted it in the booking), no children's amenities were provided in the room. We eventually had to call room service to have them delivered. 3. The hotel only has one delivery robot, which couldn't keep up during peak hours. It took quite a while for takeout to be delivered to the room. 4. Some items in the hotel room felt rather superfluous, such as the in-hotel cultural guide. Perhaps foreign guests would find it more interesting. I suggest the hotel differentiate its target audience. 5. Rooms with bathtubs don't proactively provide disposable bath liners; you have to contact the front desk if you need one. 6. The hotel's own kids' play area is quite small, probably only suitable for children under three. 7. There's a queue and crowd control during breakfast peak hours. Other notes: The hotel's travel photography, Hanfu experience, and Qipao experience require self-booking, as the front desk doesn't make reservations for you, which is a bit inconvenient. There aren't many costume options in the experience areas, but it's okay for a try. The Hanfu studio and travel photography are from the same vendor, while the Qipao studio is a different one, and both services were good."

"As a food lover, my top priority when visiting Suzhou is to stay somewhere with plenty of good food nearby, and Suzhou City Holiday Hotel perfectly met that need! It's just a few minutes' walk to Shiquan Street, where you'll find all sorts of Suzhou snacks, coffee shops, and unique restaurants, big and small – perfect for stepping out for a bite anytime. The front desk even recommended some local snack spots that authentic locals frequent, helping us avoid the long queues at internet-famous places, and the food was genuinely delicious. The room was clean and tidy, allowing us to relax and rest after a day of sightseeing and eating. The bathroom had a dry/wet separation and was impeccably cleaned. The air conditioning worked very well, making our summer stay comfortable. We often stayed out late, and the hotel's 24-hour front desk made us feel very secure coming and going. After checking out, we were able to store our luggage, allowing us to continue exploring and eating for the rest of the day without any hassle. The hotel's overall environment is quiet, and the service is thoughtful and attentive. Location, cleanliness, and service are all top-notch. Hotel near Guanqian Street/Pingjiang Street,Suzhou
The Scholars Hotel Suzhou Pingjiangfu (Shuxiangshijia Huisuojiudian Suzhou Pingjiangfudian) is located in the heart of Suzhou old town and handy for visiting the many local attractions and classical Chinese gardens found there. An attractive hotel, it features traditional Chinese-style architecture, courtyards featuring pools of water and sculptured rock. Guestrooms boast contemporary furnishings with traditional touches and all the usual amenities required for a comfortable stay.

"We booked the family suite, and it was a godsend for traveling with kids! It's a suite with two bathrooms, so no one bothered each other, and the bunk beds were a huge hit with the little ones. When traveling with kids, hygiene is always a top concern, and this hotel was one of the rare places where you could actually see the remote control for the disinfection, which made us feel incredibly at ease. As a family-friendly room, the toiletries provided for children were also very thoughtful – not only were they available, but they were individually packaged in separate bags. The check-in process at the lobby was also very welcoming; they even personally escorted us to the building, showing real dedication. The breakfast was excellent too, with attentive staff and a first-class environment. Having a washing machine was a bonus, though one of them wasn't working very well (something to improve), but another one was available, so it didn't affect our overall use. The location is unbeatable, right next to Pingjiang Road. They also included complimentary canal boat tickets, which was another plus. While waiting, there was even a non-heritage culture class in the lobby for kids, and the teacher was very patient. The 24-hour bookstore in the lobby also added a cultural touch, perfect for calligraphy, reading, or just relaxing. We'll definitely be back!"

The Garden Hotel Suzhou (Nanyuan Binguan) was once the private garden of Mr. Jiang Jie Shi. Starting from 1952, the Suzhou Garden Hotel was appointed the residence for state guests by the Suzhou Government, serving hundreds of national leaders. The hotel underwent an RMB 2.6 billion renovation in 2005. This Suzhou hotel is within a stone's throw from world cultural heritage sites like the Master-of-Nets Garden and the Canglang Pavilion. The hotel is the largest Chinese garden style hotel in the city center, from which guests may conveniently access the Suzhou train station and bus station.Chinese cuisine and Western cuisine are available on-site, along with room service and a coffee shop. The hotel also has a bar where guests can socialize over a drink. This Suzhou hotel hosts a large ballroom, two reception rooms and three function rooms. It is an ideal place for weddings, meetings, exhibitions and other functions. Guests can relax buy getting a massage, using the steamy sauna, working out by using the fitness facilities or playing a game of tennis.

"We stayed in the Yingjie Building. It's newly renovated, and the hardware is excellent. The power outlets are convenient, the lighting design is user-friendly, the showerhead is incredibly comfortable, and the view outside the window is beautiful. It's a historic hotel, and visiting and listening to the explanations was very interesting. The hotel also has a takeaway deli. At 9 AM, we saw many locals buying food, so we bought some to take back as well. The taste was super good, and it was very affordable. The only thing unsatisfactory about this hotel is probably the service. It feels like whenever you need service, you can't find anyone. When we arrived, we saw a sign for the Xiangqu Building lobby. We weren't sure if the Yingjie Building had a separate lobby and wanted to ask, but there was no one at the lobby entrance, so we had to get out of the car and go in to ask ourselves. Is this a five-star hotel? No doorman service? After checking in, a young man did drive us in a golf cart, but he was expressionless throughout, didn't offer to help with luggage, didn't press the elevator button, just followed us – completely untrained, it seemed. Then, at checkout, there was no one at the Yingjie Building front desk, so we had to go to the Xiangqu Building to check out. The staff there said the person from Yingjie might have gone to assist other guests, and that the same front desk person also drives guests in the golf cart. Also, one evening I called the front desk for help with something and scheduled a time for the next morning, but no one followed up the next day, so I had to go sort it out myself. The hotel provided a 500-100 coupon for the SOO HE restaurant, which was too much for two people to use. On a side note, this restaurant also has no service but charges a 15% service fee. I'd recommend eating out; there are excellent Suzhou noodle shops and restaurants right outside the hotel."

Here are completely different styles of places for you to rest and relax. If you like sports, you can come to the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, enjoy the beautiful view of Jinji Lake while exercising, and there are also well-equipped gymnasiums to choose from. The hotel's thoughtful parent-child facilities and services make your travel with your children easier and more enjoyable. Inspired by the ocean, the indoor Kids’ Garden - Little Captain Club - brings extra delight and enjoyment to the time when family members come together for a vacation.

"Staying at Crowne Plaza Suzhou during a typhoon and heavy rain. I arrived at the hotel front desk around 3 PM. Comparing prices, I found that booking through the platform was cheaper, and it might have been even cheaper by 30+ yuan by the evening. The exterior of the building looks a bit old, showing its age. The underground parking garage had a strong smell of螺蛳粉 (luosifen). However, [Star][Star][Star][Star] it's still quite good, with a grand atmosphere. As you can see in Picture 1, the bar is connected to the lobby, with live music, creating a very special vibe. The family-friendly services are also very thoughtful, providing everything needed: bed rails and a baby toilet seat. My room was upgraded to an executive floor, offering views of Jinji Lake. The overall view was decent, though the heavy rain obstructed it. The Kids' Club wasn't as big as I imagined; that's actually why I came. But my child really enjoyed it, and for a 3-4 year old, it's sufficient. However, some of the equipment inside needs maintenance – the princess dress was torn. The indoor pool isn't large, and the changing rooms are a bit cramped, but it's relatively clean. Breakfast service was excellent. Seating and plate clearing were very prompt. [Star][Star][Star][Star][Star] They had nuts, Suzhou-style pork noodles, and both Chinese and Western breakfast options – very comprehensive. The fried items were not soggy, and the boiled items were not mushy. However, if the market price were 158 yuan, I'd say it's a bit expensive. Overall, I think it's worth a second visit. Its unique location and decent soft and hard amenities make it a good choice. It's a 10-minute walk from Suzhou Center."

"The inn's location is fantastic, directly across from the Lion Grove Garden, and very close to the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, making sightseeing incredibly convenient! I had originally booked the smallest room in the inn. When I arrived, I asked the owner if a free upgrade was possible, as many guests had mentioned being upgraded. Without a second thought, the owner immediately upgraded me to the largest room—the service was truly exceptional! The room decor was beautiful, especially the large bed, which perfectly embodies classical Chinese aesthetics. There was also a tatami tea table and a small arhat bed. The front desk even provides a sewing kit for mending clothes, all of which speaks volumes about the owner's excellent service. I'm definitely planning to stay here again on my next trip to Suzhou."

"I booked this hotel for my last two nights in Suzhou because it's near MixC World and the price was excellent. It's super convenient for dining, shopping, and buying things nearby. When I checked in, there were a lot of guests, so I had to wait a bit, but the front desk gave me breakfast vouchers. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with a Japanese-style tatami layout and a small balcony that could be opened for ventilation. The overall room design and facilities were great. Breakfast in the morning was also plentiful. When I checked out, they even gave me some souvenirs: a very practical handmade hammer and a beautiful Suzhou-style fan. Because my flight was delayed due to a typhoon, they also allowed me a late check-out. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service!"

"The room was exceptionally good, very clean, and had a charming courtyard style that truly evoked the feel of Suzhou in the Jiangnan region. Facilities were complete, and the mini-fridge stocked with drinks and water was a refreshing touch during the scorching summer. We even received a welcome gift upon entering. The hotel is conveniently located, not far from various attractions, with Pingjiang Road just a few minutes' walk away. My only minor regret is that taxis can't drop you off directly at the entrance; you have to walk a short distance from the street corner. This is understandable, though, as many Suzhou courtyard-style accommodations are nestled within alleys."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Choosing this hotel in Suzhou was the right decision! My stay at the Hampton by Hilton Suzhou was much better than expected. The location is a huge plus – just a few minutes' walk from the subway, making it easy to get to Guanqian Street, Pingjiang Road, Jinji Lake, or nearby shopping areas. Taxis are also readily available. The front desk is staffed 24/7, check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions. The rooms are simply designed and practical, with plenty of space. The bed, a signature Hampton Bed by Serta, is just the right firmness, and the soundproofing is good – I slept soundly all night for both stays. The bathroom has a separate shower and toilet, and they provide PTR toiletries with consistent water quality and temperature. The breakfast offers both Chinese and Western options, with quick service, so you can still grab a good meal even if you're in a hurry. They also offer free parking, a gym, and laundry facilities, making it suitable for business trips or families exploring Suzhou. For the price, both the facilities and service are excellent. I'll definitely rebook here next time I'm in Suzhou and recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid a bad hotel experience."

This time, my sister and I visited Suzhou again and booked this hotel 🏨. We stayed here last year, and both the environment and service were excellent! So, we chose to stay here again. The hotel 🏨 is conveniently located right on Pingjiang Road. After checking in, you also get two complimentary tickets to a Pingtan teahouse 🆓. Last time, we had a king-size room, and this time we got a twin room. There's even a rocking chair in the room that my sister found so comfortable she didn't want to go out sightseeing! The hotel 🏨 room rate includes breakfast, and both the braised pork noodles and braised beef noodles were delicious. After breakfast, we took a nice stroll along Pingjiang Road!

The Kimpton Bamboo Grove Suzhou is absolutely the pinnacle of atmospheric getaways in Suzhou, truly a hidden gem of a garden hotel! Friends who love the ancient charm of Jiangnan and a relaxed vacation vibe will fall deeply in love with this place. The location is truly irreplaceable; nestled in the heart of the ancient city, adjacent to the Master of the Nets Garden and Canglang Pavilion, you step right out into the bustling streets and alleys of old Suzhou. It's within walking distance to commercial areas, offering tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle. You can easily explore ancient streets and visit gardens, yet still enjoy peace and quiet within the hotel – the location is simply superb. The room experience is incredibly refined and comfortable. The room types are bright and airy with excellent natural light, and the courtyard rooms come with a private small courtyard, allowing you to admire the Suzhou garden scenery right from your bed. The in-room amenities are high-end and complete, featuring branded toiletries and exceptionally high-quality bedding that is soft against the skin and provides comfortable support, ensuring a particularly peaceful night's rest. The independent bathroom is well-designed with thoughtful details, and the mini-bar is fully equipped and convenient to use. Overall, it feels both homey and luxurious, with every detail exuding quality. What's most heartwarming is the hotel's butler service, which is attentive, meticulous, and responsive throughout. They communicated needs in advance before check-in and were on call during our stay, carefully attending to every aspect from travel and daily routines to replenishing supplies. Their service was gentle yet discreet – special thanks to Ambo! The hotel lobby also features an adorable Golden Retriever named 'Little Sister Jin,' who is incredibly therapeutic. The open and relaxed atmosphere, combined with subtle hints of everyday life, breaks away from the monotonous business hotel model, preserving the unique gentle charm of Jiangnan. It's a niche, luxurious, and highly recommendable place for repeat stays!

The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but it's conveniently located if you're planning to visit the nearby mountains or Taihu Lake. Right next to the hotel is a shopping mall with a Cha Yan Yue Se (tea house), making dining and shopping very convenient. Although this is a Marriott extended-stay brand, we discovered it's a hidden gem for families with kids. During the May Day holiday, they had daily kids' activities. On our check-in day, we participated in a kite-painting activity at the lobby bar, and after painting, we flew the kites on the lawn in front of the hotel. My child had an absolute blast! We were assigned the smallest suite and received complimentary welcome desserts. The front desk staff, noticing we had a child, proactively sent kids' toiletries to our room, which felt like a very thoughtful touch. The room is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, perfectly meeting the needs of an extended stay.

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.

We stayed 1 night in this lovely hotel on a Sunday night. We managed to check in early at 1 pm and was upgraded from the 30 sqm king room we booked to a larger 41 sqm room. The room is new and used lovely bath amenities, an Australian hotel brand. Our stay came with a set dinner for 2 persons and the food was delicious. The pricing in the hotel restaurant is similar or cheaper than any other regular Chinese restaurant outside. We paid the next day at lunch time to eat Chinese food at the hotel again as the restaurant environment is nice and service is good. They have a very well equipped gym which unfortunately we did not have time to use during our 24 hour stay. Our room rate included breakfast and the selection was generous, the only negative would be the coffee beans they used are too acidic but that’s a personal preference. The location of the hotel is slightly to 1 side of the Suzhou old city but some sights like 网师园 are walking distance. Suzhou city is actually quite spread out, no one location is best for sightseeing. The great thing is didi only cost less than RMB10 per ride from this hotel so it is still very convenient. I would not bother with the Suzhou subway, it is not as convenient as the one in Shanghai. Oh yes, the cable TV have english programming which is nice for a hotel in China. I believe this Artyzen Habitat brand is managed by the Macau Shun Tak group. Will stay here again for good value and service. 这个酒店非常好,值得回来再住。五星级的设施,四星级的价钱。

This guesthouse is nestled in a bustling commercial street, yet offers a unique sense of tranquility. The second floor is a pleasant surprise, situated right in the heart of the Pingjiang Road core business district. It allows guests to easily enjoy the fun of exploring, shopping, and taking photos nearby, while also being able to retreat to peace and quiet at any time. Choosing to stay here was definitely a wise decision. The guesthouse staff provided meticulous and thoughtful service, arranging the best possible room type for us. The hygiene was good, and all the soft and hardware facilities were well-equipped.
