"The hygiene was good, and the place looked clean. There are many restaurants right next to the hotel, and Yemeng Long Corridor Beach is just a few hundred meters away. In the evening, my child didn't want to go out to eat, so we ordered takeout. I thought a robot would deliver it, but it was actually a staff member, which was a pleasant surprise – thumbs up for that! When we left, we had booked an airport shuttle. The front desk staff at the time was really great; they let us get on first and handled our luggage, which was also much appreciated. The hotel's kids' club and pool are connected, and there are two separate kids' play areas, one even with a sandpit – very thoughtful. The pool is quite large, and there are performances in the evening. The best feature is the bathtub on the balcony, haha, my son really enjoyed that experience. Plus, it's close to the airport. Overall, it's a great choice. Finally, the concierge was always prompt and helpful with communication and resolving issues."

"I stayed at Yalong Bay Earthly Paradise Birds Nest Resort in Sanya. The resort is marketed and priced as a luxury property. While the location, room quality, and cleanliness were satisfactory, the service level was severely below what is acceptable for a hotel in this category. This was not an isolated incident but a consistent pattern of operational inefficiency and lack of professionalism. Service Quality and Staff Preparedness Throughout the stay, many staff members appeared very young and inexperienced. While this is not inherently negative, the lack of visible supervision, structured coordination, and professional training was evident. This may partially explain the repeated service failures, but it does not justify them — especially at this price point. A luxury resort must ensure proper training and management oversight. Dinner Experience The restaurant had very few guests, yet the staff forgot to provide basic cutlery (forks and chopsticks). No one monitored the tables, and water was not refilled unless specifically requested. Even fundamental hospitality standards were not met. Breakfast Management Breakfast operations were disorganized. There was a waiting list based on arrival order, yet guests who arrived after us were allowed to enter before us. We were traveling with a small child, which made the delay particularly uncomfortable. As compensation, staff promised to send fruit to our room. The fruit never arrived. Offering apologies without follow-through demonstrates poor internal coordination and lack of accountability. Checkout and Transportation Failures On departure day, we had to request luggage assistance three times before receiving support. We then waited 40 minutes for the shuttle to reception while several buses passed without stopping for us. During this time, we called reception three times without any effective resolution. Because of this disorganization and delay at checkout, I was forced to postpone a lunch meeting in Sanya with a very important guest of mine who was waiting for me. This was a significant professional commitment. A luxury resort’s inefficiency directly impacting a guest’s business obligations is unacceptable. Communication and Safety Concerns No staff members spoke English. For a resort charging international luxury rates, the absence of English-speaking personnel is a serious limitation for foreign guests. Additionally, there was no visible safety guard near the swimming pools, which raises concerns, especially for families with children. Hotel Environment The hotel’s reserved areas were crowded with external tourists mixed among hotel guests, resulting in noise, confusion, and a complete lack of exclusivity. The atmosphere was chaotic rather than relaxing. The resort does not appear structured to accommodate international travelers seeking privacy and refined service standards. Overall Assessment I have stayed in numerous high-end resorts worldwide where service is proactive, coordinated, and client-focused. At this property, service was consistently inadequate and far below the level expected for the rates charged. Summary: Location: good Room: good Cleanliness: good Service: unacceptable For a resort positioned as luxury, this level of service is indefensible. One of the most disappointing high-end hospitality experiences I have experienced."

"To be honest, I was quite looking forward to staying here because it used to be an Anantara property. I've been to Hainan four or five times already, and I generally prefer the convenience of Dadonghai and Xiaodonghai, so I chose this hotel for my stay. Overall, after Anantara de-flagged, the hotel's maintenance and management really fell behind. We checked in at 5 PM that day, only to be told our room wasn't ready yet. The front desk staff said he'd help expedite the cleaning, so we had to go stroll on the beach for half an hour before finally checking in. Once in the room, it was clear the facilities were outdated. Even though it had a Kohler toilet, it was a very old model from many years ago. The bathroom and toilet area were very old overall, and there was even a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. Luckily, it's close to the city, so ordering takeout was convenient, and we just made it through the first night. On the second day, we opted for room cleaning and went out for lunch around 11 AM. When we returned to the hotel around 2 PM, the door lock wouldn't open. The front desk came to check and found that the lock was indeed problematic, completely out of battery, they said. They had to call engineering to open it, and after it was opened, it couldn't be closed again. Inside, we found the room hadn't been cleaned at all, and the toilet smell was extremely strong. We immediately contacted the front desk to request an early check-out that day and moved to a hotel in Haitang Bay. Sigh, the hotel seemed severely understaffed. It felt like the same front desk person was handling everything and apologizing from start to finish. As for breakfast, there were very few items, and even fewer servers. In the morning, a server even swept eggshells directly onto the floor. I thought she'd clean the floor afterward, but she didn't... I can only say, if you're looking for something cheap, you can stay here, but if you're planning a vacation, forget it. The only good things about this hotel are its convenient location and the decent view of Xiaodonghai; there's really not much else to praise."

"The room was fantastic! I booked a standard room, but they upgraded me to a garden-view room. It was huge, brand new, and spotless, with a simple yet elegant design. The bedding was super comfortable, and I slept like a baby – true to Hyatt's reputation. The beach was clean, not crowded, and the water was crystal clear, much better than Haitang Bay. The best part? So few people! As for the planes, yes, it's close to the airport. But personally, I found it didn't affect my sleep at all; after midnight, the flights significantly decreased. Breakfast was just so-so, and the public areas were quite minimalist, with one pool and a gym whose facilities were barely functional. The spa, however, was very reasonably priced and definitely worth experiencing. If you can get it during the off-season, the price is an absolute steal. All in all, highly recommended!"

"My experience at Sanya Yalong Bay No. 5 Villa Resort completely exceeded my expectations for a 'holiday getaway'! The moment I stepped into the resort, I was captivated by the bamboo grove path – tall green bamboo trees created a canopy, and a winding stone path led deeper inside. It felt like stumbling into a secluded Jiangnan garden, creating a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere that wonderfully contrasted with Sanya's tropical vibe 🌿. Walking towards the villas, I was surrounded by coconut groves and lake views, with staggered rooftops and clouds circling distant mountains. It was as if the rainforest had been brought right into the hotel; every step was a picturesque scene that needed no filter. The infinity pool was the biggest surprise! With crystal-clear water on one side and the lake view on the other, and hazy mountains in the distance, soaking in the water and watching the clouds drift by made time itself slow down. From the gardens to the facilities, from the private and well-appointed villas to the incredibly healing greenery everywhere, this stay cemented the 'holiday ritual' into the experience. Five stars aren't even enough to praise it!"

"Every time I bring my mom to Nanshan Temple, it's during this season, and every time we have questions, we ask the kind and friendly Mr. Li Changnian. He's polite, enthusiastic, and provides excellent service, always ready to answer any questions. Super friendly! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 **Facilities**: Some say it's old and a bit dated, but they're wrong! It's fantastic after the renovation. The pool is large enough, the restaurant is beautiful, and the rooms directly face the Guanyin of the South China Sea. The space is ample, and even the view from the bathroom window is lovely. **Hygiene**: As my mom would say, 'Everywhere looks like it's just been wiped clean, not a speck of dust.' **Environment**: The pool and the observation deck are absolutely beautiful! **Service**: Mr. Li Changnian at the front desk is warm, friendly, and prioritizes service first! ☝🏻"

"The sea-view room has a balcony with a view of the ocean, which was generally acceptable. However, there were no hand towels, only bath towels, so it's a good thing I brought my own disposable face towels. The hangers were quite thin, probably because it's by the sea and clothes are light, so maybe those thin hangers are sufficient. A special note: their walls are very expensive, made of a special material. My child, or maybe someone else's, accidentally left chewing gum on the wall. When it was removed, the wall peeled. The repair fee is 150 yuan, deducted from the deposit, and that's the lowest price. If you think it's too expensive, you can buy materials yourself and hire workers to fix the wall. For someone traveling, that's really great advice – pay up or fix it yourself. I'm very satisfied with the service, though. Be careful not to damage the walls if you stay here, or you'll regret the cost."

"really beautiful room that treated us to the most insane beach views! the room was spacious and clean, and the staff were very kind and responded extremely quickly to queries. it's more of a bnb than a hotel, without a proper reception, but you feel welcome regardless. the projector is also great but you'll need an account to actually browse the full suite of content. sadly some parts of the room could be more well-maintained, such as the sink and bathroom fixtures. the water also stopped working on our last morning, and we had to walk a few blocks down to their sister building to freshen up and shower. this was quite a hassle, but the staff did their best to help us along and also apologised for the inconvenience. do note that taxis cannot go into the hotel area and it's about a 5-7 min walk from the usual taxi drop-off points. overall it's still rather pricey compared to other accoms in the area for the quality of the room, but the room is very unique and you'll have the best views of the beach in good weather. it's also in front of an area where fireworks tend to be set off, so that's a fun bonus."

"Due to my late arrival, the hotel generously upgraded my room to one with an infinity pool – can you believe it? They put me in their absolute best room! Upon entering, all I could see was the ocean 🌊. The decor was incredibly stylish, spotlessly clean, and the ambiance was absolutely perfect. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate any request. All the beverages in the mini-bar were complimentary and unlimited – this really won me over! In the evening, heading down to the beach bar, listening to music 🎵 and watching fireworks 🎆 was incredibly relaxing. The hotel also offered 3 complimentary travel photos. I paid extra to select a few more, and while it cost extra, I only paid for photos I was genuinely happy with – they were far superior to the typical, mass-produced souvenir shots. It was an absolutely fantastic trip – ladies, don't even think twice, just book it!"

"The balcony with views of the sea, sunrise, and sunset right from the window was truly amazing; I took countless beautiful photos there. Because it's far from the bar area, it wasn't too noisy at night – just the sound of waves and occasional celebratory fireworks, so I slept quite well. However, the hotel and rooms are indeed quite small, and there are only stairs. But for luggage, you can use a small freight elevator or the owner will carry it for you. The service was still very good; they were basically responsive to every request. Seaside rooms, especially the bathrooms, inevitably have dampness and odors, but the owner did their best to resolve it, even bringing us a full-length mirror. Overall, it was pretty good. To be able to see the sea so closely for just over 700 during the Chinese New Year holiday—what more could you ask for?"
