As for the location, while the area around the nearest station can feel a bit sketchy at times depending on the day, it's very close to the station, which is incredibly convenient.
The staff were incredibly friendly and approachable right from the moment I arrived. Since I'm studying Korean, they even gave the explanations in Korean, and did so very clearly and understandably. I imagine they tailor their explanations to suit each individual guest. The staff changed between day and night shifts, but the night staff were also very kind when I needed an extra towel and when I asked for currency exchange.
There's a washing machine and dryer in the building, which was convenient, although there's a charge. (Washing machine/Dryer: 4,000 won each, accepts only 1,000 won bills). I didn't have time to use them, but they also offer free ramen, a water dispenser, and coffee.
However, perhaps because I was in a dormitory-style room, towels weren't replaced daily. You can get a fresh towel if you ask at the front desk.
As it's a shared room with complete strangers, I made an effort to be quiet and considerate. However, for anyone just looking for a clean place to shower and sleep, I think it's a perfectly good option given its cleanliness. Personal space is quite limited, so I recommend packing light.
Next time, I'd like to try staying in a private room instead of a dormitory.

GGuest UserThis hotel is just a one-minute walk from Jongno 3-ga Station, Exit 5 (or Exit 4 if you prefer the escalator). Insadong is also a minute away, practically right next door. And Anguk Station is only about a 10-15 minute walk, perfect for a morning bakery run!
When I arrived, I was fumbling with the entrance code, and a male staff member came down, helped me with my luggage to the room, and patiently explained all the facilities.
The room itself was super clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured! There was plenty of space to open my suitcase, and the hanger rack for clothes was really convenient. Having a washing machine in the room with free detergent was a huge bonus, allowing me to pack lighter.
Even though the building is old with only stairs and the shower takes a while to heat up, the room and facilities are great, the location is excellent, and the staff are so kind. It’s definitely a hotel I'd love to stay at again!

AanhkimThe dorm room on the first floor has three bunk beds, accommodating up to six guests. It's a mixed dorm. While the room is small, it wasn't an issue since I spent most of my time in the common area when not sleeping. Shampoo is provided in the shared shower rooms. As it's a guesthouse, your experience will likely vary depending on who your fellow guests are. It's about a 10-minute walk from Itaewon Station on Seoul Subway Line 6. Be aware that the route involves either a steep slope or stairs, so it might be challenging for guests with mobility issues.

Positive:
-Price are reasonable or even cheap
-Room quite spacious for the price
-Neighboring area is quiet, you still can hear if people open door next to you but still relatively quiet for 3 days stay
-Amenities quite complete
-Have computer but really old
-Have TVs and lot of programs
-Have several type of Charger
-Have extended chord
-Have good water heating showers
-Toilet can be set to have warm seats
-Walkable to subway station
-Walkable to convenience store
-Room is very clean for Motel standard
Negative:
-When I came staff doesn't speak English. Even I tried to give google translate and ask her to speak in it she refuse. So I didn't get what I want to ask. So I just grab my key
-All rooms are non-Smoking. From the website of Trip.com I clearly order Smoking rooms (Staff need to update this information)
-Its stated that you can see city views from window but it doesn't (You can see pictures of neighboring building and also the window of each rooms)
From these 3 points I can't give full score.
Other Negatives

-No translation of using remote, Etc (You can translate from pictures tho)
-No rooms slippers
-The bidets of my toilet is broken and can't be used

GGuest UserI thought Gangman Seven hostel was a very pleasant experience! For the value of the price it’s really unmatched in Seoul. While a bit far from the touristic neighborhood, it’s very close to several subway lines, reasonably clean for the price.
⬇️ Also if you leave the hostel and take a left and walk for 6-7 minutes, you will see this dumpling place pictured below, really incredible and affordable dumplings, I highly recommend. Went back 2 nights

GGuest UserThe room was average. I sprayed a lot of insect repellent. Myeongdong is just downstairs, so transportation is very convenient. The staff was not there when I checked in, so I dragged my luggage upstairs with my child. When I checked out, the staff got up early to help us take our luggage downstairs. Thank you. The TV in the room has Netflix, which my child likes very much. I didn't expect this.

Because it's a love hotel, check-in starts at 11:00 PM.
If you want to leave your luggage and take a shower before going out at night,
that's not possible.

JJadeyCMy review for a 2 night stay as 2 friends in a Twin room with windows.
Plus points:
1) Value for money, no frills, simple breakfast included
2) Excellent location by DDM History & Culture Park Station, Bus Stops and short walk after you alight from Airport Bus 6001 alighting at Toyoko Inn
3) Near to DDP and DDM shopping area, food options, and convenient stores nearby
4) Able to store luggage
5) Water cooler on every floor for hot and cold water
6) Aircon is great during summer!
7) Elevators! (though a little slow at times)
8) They provided towels and shower toiletries
9) Faces main road not along alleyways, keycard access, main entrance and lifts have to be operated by keycards after 11pm, so pretty secured imo
10) There's a small fridge in the room, and I believe you can use the common kitchen to cook or reheat simple meals if you want to.
Points to note (not exactly negatives, dependent on tolerance levels):
1) Cleanliness, overall ok, but I don't think they clean the corners and under the beds
2) Old linen, sheets
3) Very old building, tiles cracking along the hallway, definitely in need of better maintenance
4) The shower is connected to the sink, which means no separation of toilet and shower. Everything will get wet if you are not careful
5) Small space, but manageable imo, we were able to fit and pack 2 x 24” luggages in the twin room.
6) Wash your own dishes after having your breakfast, not an issue for us, though
Overall, it's an old, budget, no frills guesthouse. Will recommend it for short stays, and I would return if I am travelling alone for the price point.

MMary KathrynWe were able to locate the guest house easily using Naver Map. However, our first struggle was how to reach the destination itself.
The guesthouse is located in an uphill area, almost near Namsan Cable Car (600km/20min walk). A great tip we discovered (after struggling of walking uphill for 2 days 😂) was using the escalators/elevators near the Ihoeyeong Memorial Hall. Go straight from there and you’ll find a 7-Eleven convenience store upon crossing the street. Go left then right at the first wide alley way you see, it should be uphill. Keep on walking until you see a signage of mama guest house on your right side.
We booked a day before our arrival so we could immediately check-in in our rooms. A note welcomed us and our keys were found at the reception area. Pls don’t forget to remove your shoes and change into the slippers they provide found in the shoe cabinet at the left side of the entrance.
Our rooms were next to each other, but differ in size. Bathroom was okay, but I hope they’ll fix the sink’s pipe problem in room 104 since it leaks on the floor upon using. I suggest buying shower filters (5,000 Won) since the water in SK is quite harsh. I suggest to test how you’ll adjust the temperature when showering. There were no bidets in our bathrooms.
Always bring your keycard with you whenever you go out. They don’t go into your rooms like hotels would. If you have any requests, just leave a note on their desk (ie. New towels, tissue, etc.) They also don’t have laundry machines. Do not eat inside the rooms, only in the kitchen which is in the basement.
If you feel like your trash bins are getting full, trash bins are found in the lobby and segregate everything according to their waste category. Just think of it as you’re staying on your own room.
Walls are thin, made of light wood materials so I wouldn’t suggest talking nor listening to your phone loudly.
Breakfast menu were cereals with milk, bread and flavored jam, and instant noodles. You can only consume what’s inside the fridge unless there’s a note that a room guest owns it. You can cook and buy your own food, just make sure you clean up after. You can also fill-up your water bottles here.
Going to different areas are easy too since it’s near Myeongdong Station exit 1. If you’re planning to go shopping in Myeongdong, just go straight after exit 1 and you should see E-Mart across the street then cross on the first crosswalk you see. If you want to enter the “main” street, go left until you see the bug HBAF building.
Overall, I think our stay was a good since the staff we get see was very accommodating to our requests. I just hope they’ll fix some of their bathroom leakage.
