恵里香I stayed here for 4 nights — 2 nights in an 8-bed room and 2 nights in a 4-bed room. I thought the 4-bed room would be larger since it’s listed as having the same area as the 8-bed room, but actually it was smaller. So, I would recommend booking the 8-bed room instead. One downside is that there’s no luggage room like other dorm-style hotels. We had to keep our luggage inside the room, and the lights were always dim — only small yellow lamps for each bed. I’ve never seen the main light turned on, and I couldn’t even find the switch for it. The staff can speak English and are generally very nice, except for one female staff member who couldn’t speak English well and was a bit rudeeeee after I checked out. What I liked the most is that they offer free instant noodles, which was a pleasant surprise. Anyway, I think the hotel really needs to build a luggage room, because guests currently have to keep their suitcases in the sleeping area — there’s literally no space for them, so I had to leave mine in the hallway.

GGuest UserThis hotel is inside the YeungDeungPo market and a 10 minute walk from Timesquare, Shinsegae department store and Lotte department store. The YDP subway is also a hub for rapid and express trains and getting to and from the airport is very convenient - 10 minutes walk to the airport limosine (1 hour away from the incheon airport). I booked this hotel because it was away from tourist traps and for the opportunity to enjoy the quiet local life but also have access to the major tourist hubs. One down side is that the market gets rowdy at night with drinking pochas so it can get a bit shady for solo female travellers. Regardless, the location was overall safe and convenient. I stayed for a week and the facilities were nice on the high floors. The room was also clean and well kept. There is room cleaning on request and the fridge is stocked with some snacks provided by the hotel. A word of note: the room is quite tight and the fridge doesn't hold much. One major problem with this booking was the hidden ”additional” fees. Beware of the ”Friday” fee of 30,000 KRW when your stay overlaps a friday to saturday. I'm inclined to believe this might only be for foreigners because I had another instance of hidden fees when I tried to checkout at 8am when the listing states checkout is before 12pm. The frontdesk lady told a bold faced lie by trying to charge me another 30,000 KRW to checkout in the morning and told me there's no fee for checkout after 1pm (which doesn't make the sense in the slightest). Overall, this hotel staff tried to rip off a total of 60,000 KRW on top of the hotel booking. I booked a budget hotel for a reason so getting hit with so many charges left me in a sour mood before and after my stay. I genuinely felt so upset for being taken advantage of that I'd rate this experience 1/5 just for the utter lack of decency and their deviousness. I'd recommend to limit communication with the hotel staff and double checking with the trip.com support. If this experience was a -1/5 with the hotel service, it was a 10/5 for the trip.com support staff. Trip.com really pulled through with immediate reply and no-nonsense conflict management. So in conclusion, there is no additional fees on top of the booking fee so don't pay it!

GGuest User2 nights (I added an extra day, so the room was different) I stayed an extra night, so the room was different. About a 15-minute walk from Yeongdeungpo Market Station on Subway Line 5. The subway is quite deep underground, like the Oedo Line, so you can easily get to the ground level by taking three elevators. The hotel lady is nice, but she doesn't speak Japanese. Please note that the button next to the light in the room is for heating only. There are two remote controls, and the red power button under the gray remote control is for air conditioning. There was no remote control in the room on the first day, so I pressed the switch on the main unit directly. The room has a hidden outlet hole behind the bedside desk. There is a built-in cord and a black USB outlet. The black one worked when I turned on my computer. There were three bottles of water, slippers (sometimes there are), a thin robe, one bath towel, and three small towels in the room. Toothbrushes, lotions, etc. (I don't know what they are, so I can't use them) The double room did not have a bathtub, but there was a shower attached to the top and a handheld shower. Check-out was at 12 o'clock, so I left the room early at around 7 o'clock, and when I returned at 10 o'clock, the room had already been cleaned.

AanhkimThe dorm room on the first floor has three bunk beds, accommodating up to six guests. It's a mixed dorm. While the room is small, it wasn't an issue since I spent most of my time in the common area when not sleeping. Shampoo is provided in the shared shower rooms. As it's a guesthouse, your experience will likely vary depending on who your fellow guests are. It's about a 10-minute walk from Itaewon Station on Seoul Subway Line 6. Be aware that the route involves either a steep slope or stairs, so it might be challenging for guests with mobility issues.

GGuest UserI stayed here for 3 nights and had a really good experience. The room was spacious, clean, and fully equipped with everything I needed. It also had a smart TV with Netflix, which made my stay even more relaxing. The bathroom was not much modern but came with bathtub and automatic toilet a nice and convenient feature that made the stay feel even more comfortable. The hotel also has an elevator and there’s a small convenience store right beside it and open for 24hrs, which is super handy. The location is excellent close to Ewha University, Sinchon, and Hongdae. You can easily reach all these areas by walking if walkthrough 3 areas will take around 10-20mins, bus, or metro (only about 5–10 minutes including walking). There are plenty of local restaurants, cafés, and dessert shops nearby where you can enjoy traditional Korean food and treats. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, it’s a comfortable and convenient hotel perfect for exploring the lively neighborhoods of western Seoul.

GGuest UserI thought Gangman Seven hostel was a very pleasant experience! For the value of the price it’s really unmatched in Seoul. While a bit far from the touristic neighborhood, it’s very close to several subway lines, reasonably clean for the price. ⬇️ Also if you leave the hostel and take a left and walk for 6-7 minutes, you will see this dumpling place pictured below, really incredible and affordable dumplings, I highly recommend. GGuest UserThe room was average. I sprayed a lot of insect repellent. Myeongdong is just downstairs, so transportation is very convenient. The staff was not there when I checked in, so I dragged my luggage upstairs with my child. When I checked out, the staff got up early to help us take our luggage downstairs. Thank you. The TV in the room has Netflix, which my child likes very much. I didn't expect this.

AAnonymous UserThe location of the place is great. It was easy to find, near bus stop, and near tourist attractions. The air conditioning system is also great. Unlike other hotels which have centralized air conditioning system that could be relatively hot during summer and you can’t just adjust the temperature.

AAnne 앤Review of Seongbuk Piano Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) I recently stayed at Seongbuk Piano during a cross-country road trip, which was a mixed experience. Location: The motel is conveniently located just off the highway, making it a great spot for travelers needing a quick stop. A cafe and convenience store are nearby, which is a plus. Check-In/Check-Out: The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming. Check-out was straightforward as well, with no issues. Room: The room was clean but quite dated. The furnishings seemed from the '90s, and the décor could be refreshed. The bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep, but the pillows were a bit lumpy. There was a small fridge and microwave, which were handy, but the TV remote was missing. I had to call the front desk to get a replacement. Amenities: The motel offers free Wi-Fi, which is reliable. Cleanliness: Overall, the room was clean, though I noticed some dust on the bedside lamp and the bathroom could use a deeper clean. The bed linens and towels were fresh. Noise Level: The motel is located near a busy road, so there was some traffic noise, but it wasn’t too disruptive. However, you might want to bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Value for Money: Given the rates, it’s a decent value. It’s not luxurious, but it’s a budget-friendly option for a short stay. If you’re looking for something more upscale, you might want to look elsewhere. Overall: Seongbuk Piano is a solid choice for a brief overnight stop, especially if you’re traveling on a budget. It’s not the most modern or luxurious option, but it gets the job done with friendly service and basic amenities. Would I recommend it? Yes, if you’re looking for a no-frills, budget-friendly place to rest on a long drive. For a longer stay or if you’re seeking more comfort, you might want to explore other options.

MMary KathrynWe were able to locate the guest house easily using Naver Map. However, our first struggle was how to reach the destination itself. The guesthouse is located in an uphill area, almost near Namsan Cable Car (600km/20min walk). A great tip we discovered (after struggling of walking uphill for 2 days 😂) was using the escalators/elevators near the Ihoeyeong Memorial Hall. Go straight from there and you’ll find a 7-Eleven convenience store upon crossing the street. Go left then right at the first wide alley way you see, it should be uphill. Keep on walking until you see a signage of mama guest house on your right side. We booked a day before our arrival so we could immediately check-in in our rooms. A note welcomed us and our keys were found at the reception area. Pls don’t forget to remove your shoes and change into the slippers they provide found in the shoe cabinet at the left side of the entrance. Our rooms were next to each other, but differ in size. Bathroom was okay, but I hope they’ll fix the sink’s pipe problem in room 104 since it leaks on the floor upon using. I suggest buying shower filters (5,000 Won) since the water in SK is quite harsh. I suggest to test how you’ll adjust the temperature when showering. There were no bidets in our bathrooms. Always bring your keycard with you whenever you go out. They don’t go into your rooms like hotels would. If you have any requests, just leave a note on their desk (ie. New towels, tissue, etc.) They also don’t have laundry machines. Do not eat inside the rooms, only in the kitchen which is in the basement. If you feel like your trash bins are getting full, trash bins are found in the lobby and segregate everything according to their waste category. Just think of it as you’re staying on your own room. Walls are thin, made of light wood materials so I wouldn’t suggest talking nor listening to your phone loudly. Breakfast menu were cereals with milk, bread and flavored jam, and instant noodles. You can only consume what’s inside the fridge unless there’s a note that a room guest owns it. You can cook and buy your own food, just make sure you clean up after. You can also fill-up your water bottles here. Going to different areas are easy too since it’s near Myeongdong Station exit 1. If you’re planning to go shopping in Myeongdong, just go straight after exit 1 and you should see E-Mart across the street then cross on the first crosswalk you see. If you want to enter the “main” street, go left until you see the bug HBAF building. Overall, I think our stay was a good since the staff we get see was very accommodating to our requests. I just hope they’ll fix some of their bathroom leakage.
