"Excellent! The room was very clean and tidy, and the bathroom was spacious. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, so you don't have to worry about finding food. There's even an OY (shopping area/department store, assuming 'oy' is a typo for a local landmark or shopping area) nearby to explore. We were only there for a short time as we were attending concerts for two days, but we slept very well. There were 3 complimentary bottles of water in the fridge, so we didn't have to worry about being thirsty. If Inspire is still open next time, we'll definitely stay here again~"

"The 10 AM check-in time caught me a bit off guard; I really should have double-checked. Nevertheless, I was waiting in what I presumed was the lobby, and perhaps sensing my plight, they kindly allowed me to check in a bit early. I was extremely grateful for their understanding."

With a stay at Cave Ryokan Hotel by Anook Sungshin Univ., you'll be centrally located in Seoul, within a 5-minute drive of Dongdaemun History and Culture Park and Korea University. This hotel is 3.5 mi (5.7 km) from Myeongdong Street and 3.7 mi (6 km) from Namdaemun Market. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Make yourself at home in one of the 22 air-conditioned guestrooms. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Private bathrooms have bidets and hair dryers. Conveniences include complimentary bottled water and blackout drapes/curtains, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"The hotel's design is quite unique and seems well-suited for Korean travelers or solo adventurers. Communication was a bit challenging as the hotel staff didn't speak English, so we relied on Google Translate. However, they were very helpful and had a great attitude. Regarding the room, we booked a city view, but it wasn't quite what we expected. Instead of a clear glass window, you had to open one window, then another, to see the view. The frame of the first window also had to remain open to enjoy the scenery. Also, the window was quite high up; you essentially had to stand on the bed to get a glimpse of the view. The bathroom had a bathtub that could be used for a stone-style hot spring. If you prefer showering, it's not ideal as there's no shower curtain, meaning the entire bathroom gets wet. The room offered Netflix, but the remote control was a bit finicky and sometimes unresponsive. On a positive note, there was a speaker system in the room to play music. Overall, the soundproofing needs improvement as we could hear conversations from the adjacent room. The hotel's location is convenient, close to the subway and bus stations. There's a small night market and a snack discount store right behind the hotel, and it's also near tourist attractions. This hotel is more suitable for backpackers looking for a local experience. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a lot of luggage."

"This hotel is only a block away from The Convention Songpa where we attended our friend’s wedding. It is a bit far from tourist spots in town but it’s on subway line 8. Lotte World Tower and Olympic park are close by. If I come back to Seoul again I probably won’t stay here. Personally I was disappointed with the breakfast. I normally love Korean breakfast but their options were very limited and the same food all three days we stayed there. There was a problem with the drainage in the shower. I stood in a pool of water the whole time and I had to stop my shower twice because I was afraid I was going to flood the floor. If you need hair dryer and iron, you’ll have to request from the front desk. There wasn’t a shower floor mat/rug either. The cleaning staff were very nice though and the front desk folks speak English well."

Amazing
DDouglas_TFrom the moment I stepped out of the car until I reached my room, someone was there to assist me. When I opened the door, the turndown service was already done, and my charging cables were neatly organized and plugged in. By the bed, there was water and a sealed glass. I've stayed in many hotels, both domestically and internationally, but very few make me feel comfortable enough to use their kettle and glasses. The entire service process was seamless and unobtrusive, yet they anticipated every detail I could possibly need for my trip.

AAnonymous UserExcellent, truly lives up to its six-star rating, but there's still room for improvement. The service is great; every staff member is incredibly kind, attentive, and always smiling. I didn't have time to try out the facilities this time, but I'll definitely be back. Next time, I hope to stay a bit longer.

GGuest UserI rarely write hotel reviews, but I just had to for this one! Today, I decided to explore a different area and moved to a hotel in Hongdae. The contrast was shocking – both are in popular Seoul areas, but the difference was huge! On that note, I'm going to call out 9 Bricks Hotel Hongdae as one to avoid. I'll be reviewing them when I check out tomorrow… Now, let me praise L'escape – the location is absolutely fantastic! It's right by Hoehyeon Station on Subway Line 4, Exit 7. From the escalator at the exit, there are signs directing you to the hotel! Honestly, you don't even need the signs because you can see the hotel as soon as you step out onto the street. There's a slight uphill walk, and as I was halfway up with my luggage, a hotel staff member came running out to help! The service was incredible! 👍 If you don't go above ground from Exit 7, the other direction leads directly into Shinsegae Department Store. It’s a multi-story department store with food, a duty-free shop, luxury goods, and affordable items – great for browsing! Outside on the ground level of Shinsegae, there's a 3D mega-screen, similar to the one at Taikoo Li in Chengdu, but much more visually appealing and with fewer advertisements. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Myeongdong. As a proper tourist, Myeongdong is a must-visit! Especially after exploring Hongdae today… I really want to go back to Myeongdong! 😢 Now, about the hotel itself (my picture arrangement is a bit messy, can't adjust it yet…) The hotel itself has a distinctive style. It might feel a little old-fashioned and perhaps not ideal for families with young children, but it's clean, tidy, and still very refined! Even the elevators are decorated, somewhat reminiscent of The Ritz in London. The toiletries are BYREDO, just like at Six Senses. The mini-bar is completely free, and the Nespresso capsules and chocolates are excellent. The hotel's restaurant is Michelin-starred year after year – not cheap, but certainly fantastic. The Tea Lounge was closed by the time I arrived, but I'm sure it's also wonderful. The bar on the 26th floor is very chill, and you can get great photos with ease! The postcards provided in the room are beautiful, and they even offer free mailing! I also love the design of the notepads and the toiletry packaging – the hand-drawn illustration style is gorgeous! The hotel service is also excellent. Most of the staff speak English and are always ready to help with luggage, calling taxis, and opening car doors. In summary, it's a high-end hotel service experience through and through! But I only paid just over 800 RMB for my stay – it far exceeded my expectations! Next time I come to Seoul, I will 100% rebook this hotel.

TTianqiandikun-zijianMy wife and I booked this hotel for our cherry blossom viewing trip to Seoul during the Qingming Festival. After a long search on Trip.com, we finally decided on the Grand Hyatt Seoul, and it truly proved to be worth every penny of its high price! Firstly, getting to the Grand Hyatt from Incheon Airport is incredibly convenient. You just need to buy a bus ticket at the airport, and it takes you directly to the hotel lobby entrance. The bus driver was very helpful with our luggage, and upon arrival, the bellhops were also very enthusiastic in guiding us through check-in and assisting with our bags. However, after checking in and getting to our room, we were truly amazed. The view outside the window was absolutely breathtaking – I'd even go so far as to say it's the best room in all of Seoul for views of Namsan (perhaps even *the* best). This view alone practically makes the hotel room rate worth it. Furthermore, the hotel's facilities are up to international five-star luxury hotel standards. The restaurant in the hotel lobby requires reservations, and its backdrop is the entire Seoul city skyline, which is quite spectacular. The hotel staff's service attitude is excellent; every team member is enthusiastic, professional, and also quite attractive (which probably has something to do with Koreans' emphasis on appearance). Additionally, getting to popular attractions like Namsan, Gyeongbokgung, and Hongdae from the Grand Hyatt is very easy and convenient by Uber. Overall, if you have the budget, I highly recommend this hotel!

AAnonymous UserAfter staying at a nearby hotel, I moved here for another three nights. The room is cosy and a good size for one person. It might feel small for two, but still manageable. It was very clean, with separate shower and toilet areas. The shower has a frosted glass wall with curtains available, but it’s still something to note if privacy is a concern. The rooftop is a real highlight, offering amazing sunset views, city views, and a great view of Seoul Tower. However, the room itself had no view at all, facing a narrow space between buildings, which made it very dark throughout the day with almost no natural light. I was also given a lower-floor room near the elevator, which was slightly noisy. When I asked if I could change rooms, the request was declined and I was given earplugs instead. Overall, it was an acceptable stay, but considering the price, noisy and dark room, I probably wouldn’t choose to stay again.

GGuest UserPros: It was my first time staying in a basement room, so I was a bit flustered, but it was just missing a window. The air was fresh, and it wasn't humid or dry, so the condition was really good. The room was very spacious. The floor heating worked well, and I preferred that it wasn't a carpeted floor. The bathroom was also very large, and the pajamas were warm and comfortable. The reception staff were incredibly friendly. It was great to be able to take as much water as I wanted from the first floor. There's an ice machine and a coffee machine on the first floor, which is nice. (Though it felt a bit awkward and embarrassing because the staff would stand up and greet me every time I passed the desk, haha.) Although I didn't use it, breakfast is free. I didn't hear any noise from other rooms, so it seems soundproofed. You can store your luggage before and after check-in. There's a CU convenience store nearby, and many street food stalls and restaurants, which is convenient. It was convenient that delivery drivers could come right to the room door. The location is good, close to the bustling area and bus stops. There's a good speaker. There's a very large TV with loud volume. Cons: The bed was too soft and didn't offer enough support, which caused back pain. (Instead, the floor was spacious and clean, so I slept on the floor.) There were two pillows; one was too high, and the other was a memory foam pillow that felt hard. The hard memory foam pillow didn't pair well with the soft bed, which made my back and neck hurt even more. Perhaps because it's a basement room, I heard the sound of water flowing from the ceiling wall all night. Overall, I had a comfortable stay and would consider returning.

GGuest UserAn absolutely wonderful experience! We arrived at the hotel before check-in time on a very cold day, and needed to put more clothes on our child. The staff thoughtfully provided us with an unoccupied room to get settled and bundle up, which was incredibly considerate. The reception staff (a young woman and a young man) spoke a little Chinese. I then asked them for travel advice. They were so welcoming and helpful, assisting me with booking Busan train tickets online, calling places I wanted to visit, and making reservations for activities. The young man even took us to a convenience store to buy subway cards and sent me daily itinerary directions. I booked a triple room, which was a two-bedroom apartment, perfect for our family of four. It had a living room and a hot spring bath, and was clean and tidy. Each bed was 1.5 meters wide, which is quite rare. The space was spacious and comfortable. Downstairs, there are aesthetic clinics, hair salons, and several convenience stores. The subway station is also within a 5-minute walk, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. You can also walk to a huge shopping mall, which includes a luxury department store like LV, as well as a general shopping complex with plenty of dining and shopping options. We will definitely come back next time!

GGuest UserThe location was great, right behind the station. Having a 7-Eleven right next door and a supermarket nearby was perfect for enjoying tangerines in the jacuzzi. The heating worked well, and the welcome drink being Kooksoondang Makgeolli was a delightful surprise. Although the wish paper and incense burner were gone, traditional games like Yutnori and Gonggi were still available. The amenities included shampoo, body wash, conditioner, toothbrushes, and disposable toothpaste. There was also a separate foot towel, and plenty of regular towels (6-8 sheets). The herbal tea bag for the jacuzzi had a lovely subtle scent. My only minor complaints were a nail on top of the bathroom towel, a loose power outlet, and while the portable standing TV was a nice touch, there was no remote control. The soundproofing wasn't great; I could often hear the TV, conversations, laughter, and even what was being discussed from the next room. Also, if you opened the jacuzzi window curtain, you had a clear view into the windows of the villa opposite, so it's probably best to keep it closed. Despite these small issues, it was a charming place, and at this price point, I'd say it's worth coming to enjoy at least once.
