With a stay at V Stay, you'll be centrally located in Seoul, just a 4-minute walk from Namsan Mountain Park and 6 minutes by foot from Myeongdong Street. "The location is very nice. You can easily walk to Myeongdong, Namsan Tower, and many restaurants, and transportation is convenient. The staff were very kind and helpful. However, it’s difficult for me to say this was a good stay overall. Here are the reasons why: • Elevator – The elevator is only for luggage, not for guests. This should be clearly stated before booking. As in here it’s show as the property has an elevator without explaining that it is a cargo elevator, it is misleading. • Security – The room password was simply the room number with an additional “1” added to it. I didn’t leave valuables in the room, so I wasn’t too worried, but it still felt like a weak security system. • Room Door – There is no additional lock on the inside of the room. While the digital lock can be activated, I never felt completely confident that the door was fully secured. • Soft Opening Without Notice – When I booked, there was no mention that the property was still in a soft-opening stage. I expected the hotel to be fully operational. Instead, there were unfinished areas, items left around the property, and staff frequently entering rooms after check-in to inspect or photograph things without being asked. Had I known the hotel was not fully ready, I would have considered other options before booking. • Poor Room Layout – My room was 405, located at the end of the hallway. The neighboring room (404) had a door positioned in a way that it would hit my door whenever opened carelessly. During my four-night stay, the guests next door banged their door into mine repeatedly. Eventually, at around 1 a.m. one night, I had to contact the staff and ask them to address the issue. • Cleanliness Concerns – The property appears to use the same type of towel for everything. When I asked about a bathroom mat, I was told to use a towel instead. This gave me the impression that the towels were being used for multiple purposes, including drying floors. On top of that, the towels shed lint and left fibers on my skin after use. • Very Small Bathroom – Please be aware that the bathroom is extremely small. The shower is positioned directly over the toilet, and there is barely enough room to stand while showering. In practice, you almost need to sit on the toilet to shower comfortably. After two nights, I seriously considered moving to another hotel. The only reason I stayed was because my mother didn’t want to move all of our belongings again. To be fair, one of the staff members (possibly the owner) sincerely apologized and explained that they were trying their best. I do believe they genuinely care and are making an effort. However, there is still a long way to go before this property is ready to provide a comfortable hotel experience."

The Myeongdong Merlin Hotel is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Myeongdong Merlin Hotel is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Seoul. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 3km from Seoul Station and 17km from Gimpo International Airport. In addition, Chungmuro Metro Station is just a short walk away. With Insa-dong, Dongdaemun History & Culture Park and N Seoul Tower all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This hotel is a popular accommodation for groups of friends traveling together.

"We stayed 6 nights here. Even though the hotel is older, but very clean and no smell no bugs in the toilet. 10 minutes walk to metro but 1 minute to bus stop with buses to almost everywhere, personally I do enjoy bus rides more so that is a plus. Free water, daily cleaning and basic amenities are really nice. + affordability! 100% recommend❤️"

When staying at EXTAY-chungmuro, you'll be perfectly positioned to explore Jung-gu. This property also offers free luggage storage.

"Stayed at the 6 pax ladies capsule room. Capsule was considered spacious for me 161cm. Inside the room itself the toilet/bathroom area. No smell, very spacious. 2 toilets,2 shower, 2 sinks,2 hairdryer,1 hairstraightener, bathroom slippers, shower gel& shampoo, unlimited towels. Each capsule has its own small locker and luggage storage. Free earplugs on the table. Strategic locations, lots of food and coffeeplace nearby. Washer and dryer, detergent all FOC. Would recommend it to solo travelers. Downside is the steep staircase at entrance, but was fine for me cause flugagge wasn’t packed with heavy stuff yet."

HOTEL MARGUERITE

Amazing

Location wise, Marguerite Hotel is almost perfect - nearest exit is Myeongdong Exit 1 (bonus as it comes with escalator), the Daiso that is a must visit for all tourists, near to Namsan Tower, airport limousine bus (right across Hotel Prince), and of course, just opposite the Myeongdong shopping heaven. You can always return to the hotel to stash your stuffs or for a quick refresh. For Muslim travellers, ”Lepakla” restaurant is just 5 steps away from the hotel, and near to Kampungku and Mari Meokja. Facilities like water dispenser (located at Ground Floor and second floor), tea and coffee is available 24/7. Iron is available upon request, bur ironing in your hotel room requires a bit of creativity as the size of the room could not accommodate luggages, let alone an ironing board. The projector in the room was a nice touch, I asked the receptionist how to use it and he said I need to connect it to my own laptop. But I don't carry HDMI cables around, especially when travelling. So after fiddling with the remote, I found out that I don't need to conect it to my laptop after all, as YouTube and Netflix is already readily available on the projector. The down side is, the size of the room. I managed to lay open my 26 inch luggage, but that leaves me no more room for other things. But the worst part is, the service of the hotel. Due to my bad knees, I have made a request for a room on lower floors via Trip. Upon check-in, I politely requested again for a room on lower floors. However, I was assigned to a room on the highest floor. The staff said nothing could be done, which was really disappointing. The staff offered to bring my luggage to the room, which I was grateful for, however, I had to drag my luggages all the way from fourth floor through the narrow staircase all the way down, resulting damage to my luggage. So if going up and down the staircase (there's no elevator/lift), is an issue, you might want to check out other places instead.

The lobby is gorgeous and has a great style. The room isn't big, but I found it quite cozy, and it was very quiet at night, so I slept soundly. We booked a twin room, but the two beds were quite small, only about a meter wide each. We had two small children with us, and the front desk charged an extra 200 yuan or so per person per day, which I found quite unreasonable. If they had provided extra towels, toiletries, or even an extra duvet, or a small toy (without being asked), it would have felt like we were getting something for that value. But as it was, there was no difference compared to not paying, especially since even toothbrushes cost extra. As for cleanliness, don't scrutinize the details too much; a germaphobe would have to turn a blind eye. For example, the bathtub felt dirty to the touch, and there was hair wrapped around the faucet, but we probably wouldn't use it anyway, so don't dwell on it too much.

This was the second time I stayed with L7 Myeongdong by Lotte Hotels. The hotel is in a convenient location where airport bus station is just within a minutes walk and Myeongdong shopping streets are just next to the corner. Staff was friendly as usual and cleanliness was excellent. The hotel is also close to all pickup points of which the local tours I joined. Breakfast was also good and the laundry room is a bonus point. I will definitely stay with L7 if I stay in Myeongdong next time.

The view is great, and as a suite, it's generally very good with no major drawbacks. The suite includes breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour. I didn't take photos of the breakfast, but it was extremely rich and delicious. Afternoon tea is shown in the pictures; there were no alcoholic beverages. The lighting and curtains are all smart-controlled, and there's an iPad by the bed to contact the hotel for requests. The space is also ample. The shower water pressure is excellent; both the overhead and handheld showers can be used simultaneously, and there's a seat. Various types of pillows are provided, such as memory foam pillows. Seoul's air quality is often poor, so the room is equipped with an air purifier, and you can call to have a humidifier delivered. The location is convenient, with the subway station just a 5-minute walk away. If I had to point out a drawback, the hotel has indeed been open for a number of years, and some basic features are a bit old. For example, the air conditioning lacks any advanced functions like scheduled shut-off; it only has a single temperature and fan speed setting.

Spacious twin room with a separate shower and toilet, and the water pressure for the shower was fantastic! The location is incredibly convenient! Airport buses 6001 and 6015 stop right in front of the hotel entrance. Subway lines 3 and 4 are downstairs, and Myeongdong is just one stop away. There's a 7-Eleven, KFC, and Burger King right downstairs, plus plenty of local cafes and restaurants!

Facilities: The hotel is well-equipped. Although it's located halfway up a hill, there's a shuttle bus for tourists to Myeongdong and Hannam-dong, and it's also very convenient to call an Uber or a taxi right outside. If you don't go out, you can easily spend half a day at the hotel's swimming pool and gym during the day, and the lobby bar in the evening has a great ambiance with live music. Ambiance: The hotel has a very old-money feel. The window views are beautiful, and the colors of the mountain forest change with the seasons, which I imagine would also change one's experience of the hotel. The rooms are very beautiful; I highly recommend a mountain-view room. Service: The service is exceptionally attentive, breaking away from traditional Korean service. There are staff members at every point, especially in the gym and dining areas, who guide you, so you won't feel lost or confused when you go by yourself.

I stayed at the VOCA Hotel Seoul Myeongdong (part of IHG) throughout my entire shopping trip to Seoul. It's hands down the most stress-free accommodation choice for exploring Myeongdong, Shinsegae Department Store, and getting to the airport. Traveling with luggage was completely hassle-free, so I absolutely have to recommend it! **Location & Transportation** are absolutely top-notch. The hotel is right next to Exit 3 of Hoehyeon Station on Subway Line 4, just a 1-minute walk after exiting. Myeongdong main street, Shinsegae/Lotte Duty-Free are only an 8-10 minute walk away, and Namdaemun Market is a mere 2 minutes from the hotel. This means you can drop off your shopping bags and clothes at any time without having to carry heavy loads around. The biggest bonus is that Airport Limousine Bus 6001 stops directly in front of the hotel. For your return journey to Incheon Terminal 1, you can catch the airport bus right across the street, no need for detours or subway transfers. This is incredibly convenient for those with large luggage, or traveling with multiple people, and perfectly suited for catching your flight on the last day. **🛏️ IHG Brand Quality & Exquisite Details** 1. The overall design is modern light luxury with warm tones. The lobby's blue and white marble color scheme is sophisticated and photogenic. The public areas, with their book and coffee corner, are great for relaxing and taking photos. Although the guest rooms are typical for a city hotel in Korea – a bit on the smaller side – the layout is very efficient. You can fully open and store two 28-inch suitcases without feeling cramped or crowded. 2. The double-glazed windows provide amazing soundproofing! Even though you're in the bustling Myeongdong area, once the windows are closed, you can barely hear the street traffic or people. With blackout curtains and a mattress that's just right – not too soft, not too firm – you can truly get a good night's sleep after a full day of walking around. 3. The amenities are incredibly thoughtful: a complimentary minibar replenished daily, a smart toilet, and a bathtub are all provided. The toiletries are from the British organic brand Bamford, with a premium scent and excellent quality. The high-floor 'tower view' rooms offer direct views of Namsan Seoul Tower at night, and once the lights come on in the evening, it feels just like a Korean drama! 4. The hotel features an indoor pool and a 24-hour gym, perfect for relaxing after a long journey. The executive lounge on the 18th floor offers panoramic city skyline views, making it an excellent spot for an afternoon tea break and enjoying the scenery. There's also a 24-hour convenience store on the first floor, so you can easily grab snacks or water late at night. **✅ Service & Breakfast Highlights:** The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff, ensuring seamless communication. Luggage storage and route inquiries were handled promptly. Housekeeping was meticulous and thoughtful, even folding clothes that were left casually. The buffet breakfast offers a good mix of Korean dishes like noodle soup and simple kimchi sides, as well as Western options like bacon and bread. While the variety isn't extravagant, the taste is authentic and the ingredients are fresh, ensuring a satisfying meal even when you're rushing for your itinerary.

Grid Inn Hotel

Conveniently located in the middle of both tourist hotspots and local haunts, Grid Inn Hotel provided us with an unexpectedly pleasant one night's stay with the best service I have ever experienced. The room was cozy and and homely, the air conditioning was as strong as you want it to be, and the beds were comfortable. While the shower drainage is indeed slower than other hotels as mentioned in other reviews, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The highlight of this hotel is definitely the people. The staff were the friendliest and most welcoming I have ever experienced in all my trips! They also saved my life. I had forgotten to charge up my T money card for the airport bus the next day and the train stations were already closed by then. With only 50,000 won cash denominations, we tried to ask the staff on duty at 2am if it's possible to exchange for some small change. Well...she did so and provided us with different denominations just in case. It was a really huge help! After we checked out the in the morning, they even personally sent us off to make sure we went the right way to the airport bus stop. It left us feeling really warm inside. I rarely write long reviews, but Grid Inn Hotel has made our extremely short trip so unexpectedly pleasant it would be a crime not to. Needless to say, highly recommended and we will be back again. :) P.s. as a little reply to the other review we saw, the supposedly fishy smells probably came from this little stall that sells mackerels right at the back door of the hotel. Honestly, if you are a fan of fish, those mackerels smell AMAZING even in the morning, and the smell wouldn't get to you at all. We actually find it unfortunate we didn't have time to try it (attached a pic of the shop too!)

he room itself was clean, modern, and efficiently designed. While not very spacious, it had everything I needed: a comfortable bed, strong shower pressure, and reliable WiFi. It’s ideal if you’re out most of the day exploring and just need a solid place to rest. I also appreciated the 24-hour reception and self-service facilities, which made check-in and daily routines smooth and hassle-free. Staff were polite and helpful when needed, though the hotel has a more self-service vibe rather than a luxury experience.
