Facilities: A bit old-fashioned. Cleanliness: Very good. Environment: Loved it, a perfect family-friendly hotel. Service: Good. The hotel's own activities are suitable for young children. It's very close to the beach, so getting to the sand is super convenient. My kids' favorite activity every day was walking to the beach. After they got tired of playing, we'd head back to rest, and from our room, we could hear the sound of the waves. It truly felt like 'facing the sea, with spring blossoms all around'.

Four Seasons service, endless warmth! Because of the Four Seasons Hotel Dalian, our trip to Dalian was particularly unforgettable! Special thanks to: Jane, the hotel's duty manager, was especially nice. She continuously and attentively cared for us, even messaging us before check-out to ask if we needed any room supplies. Special thanks to Ms. Adale from the Guest Experience Department. She contacted me three days before check-in and proactively helped upgrade our room type. I also want to thank the kind lady who provided the turn-down service in our room. Seeing that there was no place to hang our child's clothes, she proactively asked her colleague to bring a 'spider-style' drying rack. Thanks to the young lady who served me iced Americano at breakfast – I don't know your name, but your sunshine-like smile brightened our trip... That's all! The best hotel of our trip, absolutely loved it! The design is just incredible. **Location:** Since I was traveling with my 12-year-old, convenience to attractions was a key factor. I hadn't really researched it when booking, but after staying, I found it super convenient for getting to the nearby Forest Zoo (I'll write a separate guide for that later), Lotus Mountain, Haida Tunnel, Cross-sea Bridge, and Xinghai Square. **Environment:** Built on Lotus Mountain with unique architecture, so the views and scenery are unparalleled. **Facilities:** The room and amenities were all very complete. The only downside was that there was an event in the sky garden one night, so we couldn't enjoy the night view, but otherwise everything was great. **Pool:** I went for a swim every day. It was great for exercise and I could also use the steam room, which was very relaxing. **Gym:** Lots of equipment, but not many people actually working out – more guests were there for a holiday. **Shuttle service from the foot of the mountain:** Very convenient! Although the journey isn't far, it saved a lot of time and effort. There were always hotel guests waiting there. **Hotel photoshoot (3 retouched digital photos, requires 24-hour advance booking):** We did this on our last morning, and it was incredibly efficient! Started shooting at 9 AM, finished by 9:20 AM (we couldn't shoot outdoors due to the weather). We then waited 5-10 minutes to choose the photos. Every shot was beautiful, and I reluctantly paid extra for 10 more. **Breakfast:** Very extensive, and the specialty sea buns and 'dirty' buns were absolutely delicious! **To sum it up:** You get what you pay for!

The room attendant was very meticulous; the room was tidied up perfectly, and the bathroom and bedding were all neatly arranged. When we needed extra amenities, the response was quick. All the equipment in the room worked fine, and our stay was quiet and peaceful. The location is convenient, with plenty of amenities nearby, and the service feels authentic. We felt relaxed and comfortable during our stay. The hotel's gym and swimming pool are the biggest plus points—they're more professional than outside gyms, and the best part is the excellent service, all conveniently located within the hotel.

It was a perfect trip. I wanted to go to Lushun to go shopping. I took the light rail terminal to see the sea. It was very close to the World Peace Park. Although it was late, the park was still lively. The sea was clear and there was no smell of the sea. The store upgraded the room type and turned on the air conditioner in advance. Let the fatigue of the journey sweep away in the cool. In the morning, I looked at Fang Fei on the edge of the villa, the large bathtub floor-to-ceiling windows, and the sea view smelled the flowers. The room is so big, especially when sitting down at the side table on the first floor, I feel like singing a song ”Night on the Outskirts of Moscow”. The flowers in front of the door bloom like a brocade, the green apple exhibition is like a green jade, and the home is very delicious with a single mountain and water.

The hotel's location is excellent, right opposite Happy Beach Gate 4, and within walking distance of Discovery Kingdom. Upon check-in, the front desk upgraded us to a sea-view room, which I really appreciated. However, I can't give a good rating for a few reasons: 1. As soon as we got to the room, I called the front desk for children's slippers and toothbrushes. After waiting half an hour with no delivery, I ended up getting them from a housekeeping staff member in the hallway. 2. In the afternoon, I called the front desk for disposable cups. Again, after waiting half an hour, they still hadn't arrived. I had to call again to follow up before they finally sent a robot to deliver them. We then left the room, and when we returned in the evening, we found two disposable cups sitting on the floor outside our door! Isn't putting paper cups on the floor unhygienic? 3. The hotel advertises free sand-digging tools. We stayed for two nights, and every time we went to get tools, they were either unavailable or broken! 4. Our room on the fifth floor wasn't particularly noisy, but as soon as you stepped out of the elevator, the hallway had an odd smell that I couldn't quite place. The bedding also felt damp, making for an uncomfortable stay. For a Trip.com 5-diamond hotel with such a prime location, this was truly disappointing. It seems you really do get what you pay for!

This time, I brought my family and kids to Dalian, and we decisively chose to stay at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian. This five-star hotel, highly praised by previous generations, truly lived up to its reputation. The accommodation experience throughout our trip far exceeded expectations. From its prime location and excellent room amenities to the meticulous and thoughtful service, everything left a deep impression. It's truly a Shangri-La! The Shangri-La Hotel is situated in the core business district of Renmin Road, boasting a unique geographical advantage. It's close to Zhongshan Square, very near the subway station, and surrounded by a wide array of restaurants and shopping malls. Taking a taxi to popular attractions like Donggang and Xinghai Square is incredibly convenient, saving time and effort for both leisure and business. Its transportation advantage is truly outstanding. As a long-established five-star hotel in Dalian, despite its age, it's evident that the overall maintenance is superb. The cultural ambiance is remarkably rich! Upon entering the lobby, you're greeted by a grand and steady decor with elegant style and soft lighting, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The concierge staff were warm and enthusiastic, proactively helping with luggage and being very polite. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we could feel the five-star hospitality standards! Lisa, the Guest Relations Manager, provided professional and efficient service. Even during the peak tourist season with large crowds, she managed everything in an orderly manner, processing check-in quickly. She also thoughtfully prepared welcome fruits and snacks, showing great attention to detail. The guest rooms are spacious and bright with excellent lighting. High-floor rooms offer panoramic views of the city. The bedding is soft and thick, providing an exceptional sleep experience. After a day of exploring, lying down allows for complete relaxation and washes away travel fatigue. The rooms are cleaned spotlessly, with great attention to hygiene details. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, stable hot water supply, and high-quality toiletries. The room's soundproofing is excellent, making for a very quiet night undisturbed by outside noise. The hotel facilities are comprehensive. The indoor heated pool has clean water and a comfortable environment, and the gym is well-equipped. The buffet breakfast is a major highlight, with a rich variety of dishes, including both Chinese and Western cuisine. There are freshly made noodles, local specialties, fresh fruits, and various pastries and breads. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are excellent, satisfying different dietary preferences. The restaurant staff are friendly and responsive, making for a great dining experience. The most impressive aspect was Lisa's thoughtful service. She is genuinely warm and friendly, responds quickly to requests, and communicates smoothly. Even our child really liked her!

Five-star recommendation! Our family stay at the Four Seasons Whale Island exceeded expectations; it's absolutely perfect for a family beach vacation. The hotel boasts an excellent location with its own private beach. You don't have to go far to let the kids dig in the sand and explore the shore, and if you're lucky, you might even spot some starfish. The little ones had an absolute blast. Amber Bay, with its larger expanse of sea perfect for wading and shell collecting, is just a short walk away, offering plenty of opportunities for beachcombing. The surrounding amenities are also top-notch, with authentic seafood restaurants serving delicious meals and trendy, Instagrammable cafes that are perfect for snapping great photos and relaxing. The rooms are very comfortable. Each is equipped with an extra-large bathtub, which is wonderfully relaxing after a day of playing by the sea. Just a friendly reminder: remember to close your doors and windows, as small insects can occasionally fly in. Overall, our stay was fantastic, though I have two small suggestions for improvement: Firstly, a mini-fridge in the room would be incredibly convenient, especially in summer for storing cold drinks, baby food, and fresh ingredients. Secondly, I hope the bedding maintenance can be enhanced in the future; some sheets and duvets weren't as pristine as they could be. Regular replacement and updates would further elevate the quality. All in all, this is a highly recommended resort in the Dalian Shicao area that we'd gladly return to. It's a top choice for family trips, and I recommend it to families looking for a peaceful seaside escape and easy beach exploration!

I stayed here in 2023 when it was still a Kempinski. The spa and bakery left a deep impression on me. Since 2026, it has rebranded to Pullman by Accor, without closing for renovations, so the facilities remain unchanged. This time in Dalian, I revisited the hotel. Having been open for over twenty years, the facilities are indeed quite old. The room has a lot of heavy wooden furnishings, which must have been a significant investment back then. Many of them are no longer very smooth to use, such as the wardrobe sliding doors and bathroom drawers. They are difficult to move, and any attempt to do so would require major renovation. This also applies to issues like only having a charging port on one side of the bed, which many guests complain about. Personally, I quite like this old-fashioned, substantial hotel decor style; it lacks the cheap feel of some newer high-end hotels. Old is fine, as long as it doesn't affect normal use. The faucet is a Danish brand, possibly a concept product more focused on styling. It has a strange push-button operation. Some are smooth, others are very stiff and difficult to use, making it hard to control water flow and potentially scratching hands. The bed and sofa are very comfortable. It took me a while to find the light switches in the room, only to realize they were on the central control panel – a small, inconspicuous box by the bedside. The service is still good. It's peak season now, but I was still able to check in at the regulated time. This time, I bought a package through Trip.com, which included breakfast for two and dinner at Paulaner. It was a great value. The front desk even upgraded me to a better room type in a separate building, the VIP building, which has less than ten rooms per floor. Regarding the food: The breakfast variety is decent. The menu listed omelets, so I asked the chef to make one, and it tasted good. For milk, there was hot whole milk and cold skim milk; cold whole milk would have been a nice addition. The bakery, no longer part of Kempinski, has changed its products. My favorite chocolate croissants are gone. I bought some sliced cakes, and they tasted good. Paulaner has an excellent environment with a great atmosphere and live performances. The service is also very attentive, and guests get a 25% discount. However, pizzas take a long time to prepare; I waited over an hour for mine. The spa and pool are still the same as before, with an exotic flair. Several hot tubs and my favorite steam bath were all open and functioning. The pool is deeper than usual, at 1.5-1.8m, and it wasn't crowded, making it very peaceful. My main suggestions are all regarding the facilities: 1. The wooden furnishings that are not smooth to use should be repaired. 2. Add a charging port to the other side of the bed. 3. Replace the strange faucets. 4. The two panels of the curtains should not be on a single track; they need to overlap to prevent a gap, otherwise, how can light be blocked effectively?

Every time I visit Dalian, I stay here. The hotel rooms are clean and tidy, with complete facilities. The location is very convenient, with plenty of amenities nearby, making it easy to get around to all the attractions. Overnight parking is only 10 yuan at this location, which is a great deal. Highly recommended!
