Honolulu Hotels with Wifi

"In the hotel's restaurant. We had to wait some considerable time to be attended to, we ended up seating ourselves, getting our own menus and water, whilst the sole server juggled his other responsibilities. After a very ordinary fish & chips meal, with the thinnest fries we've ever seen we received a bill for the equivalent of AUD $90 to which not only had a 4% kitchen charge been added but additionally a further 18% service charge. Neither the meal or service justified this charge in any way. We left what we considered to be a fair and reasonable payment which more than covered the cost. For the AUD$ 75 cost we could have fed four people with a far better quality meal. We had been unable to use our drinks voucher in the restaurant, so after the meal we went to the bar in the same hotel to use our vouchers to get a drink. Whilst there a very disgruntled server from the restaurant and some random woman from the bar came and accosted us, snatching a jam jar of tap water we had brought round with us to finish at the bar. We were basically accused of stealing a jam jar of tap water whilst sitting at a bar in the same hotel, as paying guests! A waiter from the restaurant hung around the entire time just to ensure he got his jam jar back! Next morning we loaded our own cases onto the free shuttle bus. The driver tried to dismantle our cases, we asked him to leave our cases to allow space for other guests & we wanted them to stand in the luggage space adjacent to the rack, as they had done on the way to the hotel. The driver began shouting at us, threw a tantrum & went to get his boss, who came out & saw no issue with our cases. The driver then began driving recklessly, racing round corners and braking heavily. Guests had to tell him to slowdown and stop driving dangerously. He then made all the guests remove their own bags unassisted after we informed him his behaviour certainly did not warrant any tips! A shocking & horrible end to our holiday & not a very good advertisement for the USA Dreadful tipping culture of entitlement even if service does not warrant it! ."

"It certainly does the job for a short trip. I stayed for two nights and was only there to sleep - I spent the daytime making the most of the extremely convenient location. All the amenities - the lounge area, bathrooms, WiFi - are fair enough. One concern I had was the lack of security - the lockers are pretty weak and can be pulled open pretty easily."

"I have no complaints at all - this might be the perfect resort at this price point. Check-in was smooth, the rooms are excellent (albeit maybe a bit on the small side for three persons, and we did miss not having a barhtub), the view excellent (description said “ocean view” and it was better than expected, even from the Pacific Tower), restaurants both great. The location is perfect, just a few min walk from the Royal Hawaiian Center; and the hotel has its own /small/ beach with really a good view of the sunset. Big shoutout to the very friendly staff at Monkeypod Kitchen as well as the poolside Towel Hut! Would revisit without a doubt!"

"I usually book with the Marriott down the street whenever I’m in Waikiki but I opted to try the Hyatt for the first time; it was also a little cheaper than the Marriott the day that I went. I got a King room with a city view on the 7th floor. The room was large, clean and one of the corners of the tower so it had a curving layout. Overall the room was clean, bed was comfortable, A/C was cold. My only little gripe was in the bathroom, there weren’t any shampoos or conditioners or body wash in the tub like other hotels. Can’t say much for service since I was only there for a day but the employees I did interact with were friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay there again."

"The hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable. Waikiki Beach is just across the street, making it super convenient for beachgoers and families with kids. Thanks to its prime spot, the balcony offers fantastic views, and it's incredibly relaxing to just lie there and enjoy the morning. The lobby provides towels for guests to use at the beach, which can be conveniently returned to a designated bin on the same day – another handy feature. Now for some downsides. We booked two rooms, and the balconies felt a bit unstable, noticeably swaying when a few people stood on them. The railings also seemed inadequate and quite exposed, which felt a bit unsafe. We stayed for six nights, and it felt like daily tipping for housekeeping was expected. Without a tip, the service wasn't thorough, often missing things like fresh towels or replenished amenities. Furthermore, there was no complimentary bottled water provided daily, which we found unusual. Guests also need to bring their own toiletries, as the hotel does not supply them. The hotel has a paid laundry room; washing fees were comparable to New York, but drying was quite expensive. On top of that, there were unreasonable mandatory fees (e.g., resort fees) of around $60 per day, with very few actual amenities included for that price. Next time I visit, I definitely wouldn't choose this hotel again. I'd opt for hotels like the Hilton, just a block or two away from the main road. The walking distance isn't significantly different, but the price difference is substantial."

"The location was good, and parking registration and use were convenient (for a 2-night, 3-day stay, I paid a reasonable 2-night rate. Other accommodations charge 3-day rates). The 24-hour desk made check-in and check-out very convenient. However, having to go through the lobby floor and alternate between the hotel elevator and the parking elevator was inconvenient. Amenities are charged separately per night, and a security deposit is required. Accommodation quality was based on my experience in the room I booked. The bed was comfortable, the refrigerator was larger than expected, there was a microwave, the air conditioner was noisy but worked well, and there was a coffee pot. The mini kitchen had a built-in induction stove, but it was dead, so I couldn't boil water. The pots were small, and there was no bottle opener. The lack of ceiling lights made it dark, and the thick carpeting made it difficult to walk in with shoes on, which didn't feel very clean. Considering all the factors, I'd give it a 4."

"The scenery is nice and the service is also very good. The front desk is serious and attentive. The room is very clean. You need to queue for the buffet, but the wait time will not be too long. It is also close to the downtown area, about seven or eight minutes away by car."

"This is Diamond Head View! I was embarrassed because the actual resort fee was different at the site, but when I contacted Trip.com, I got a refund for the amount of the additional payment on site with a quick response. Location, service, hygienically recommended!"

"I had seen a lot of negative reviews on various platforms before, but I didn't experience any of those issues myself. 1. I checked in earlier than the official time. The front desk staff was very friendly and explained that my room was still being cleaned, so I couldn't check in immediately. I left my luggage and went out shopping. While I was out, the hotel called to say my room was ready, which was earlier than the standard check-in time. 2. I discussed my room preferences with the front desk, and I was pleasantly surprised when I got to my room. It felt much better than what I had booked."

"The Ritz-Carlton Waikiki, Hawaii, is classified as a five-star hotel on Ctrip. The suite is over 60 square meters and costs 6,800 yuan, excluding breakfast. In addition to its good location, the hotel's lobby facilities, decoration level, and service staff quality are only three stars of Japanese hotels. We booked a sea-facing suite, and the bed and sofa bed were surprisingly soft. We called the guest room three times on the third night, and each time a different person came to see it and said that it would be solved immediately, but they never came back. After another call, two male waiters finally came together to turn the big mattress over and turned the back up, and they felt that it was normal in hardness and softness. We continued to wait for them to solve the problem of the soft sofa bed. The two male waiters said they would come back immediately, but they were nowhere to be seen. Until a female housekeeper came to check and told her that we were still waiting for the problem to be solved, she also promised to come back but never came back. I had no choice but to call the front desk again and a male waiter came. He left for another ten minutes and came back, saying that I could put the other half of the mattress of the big bed (many double beds abroad are made of two single mattresses covered with a large mattress cover to prevent turning over and affecting each other) on the sofa bed with the hard side facing up. In the end, I had no choice but to do this. The room facilities were very simple, at most three-star level. The restaurant breakfast was a mixture of various foods topped with some local sauce, and it always tasted the same. A breakfast order for two people plus a 20% tip was 60 or 70 US dollars; a Chinese meal in the hotel restaurant, ordering a few plates plus a tip, was 160 US dollars, and the taste was similar. I just stayed in a five-star hotel in Japan and then transferred to ANA business class to fly to Hawaii. The difference between the hotel level and service is really not a little bit. The biggest failure of this trip was choosing this so-called five-star hotel. There will be no next time."
