"I specifically chose a high-rise hotel, and the room was beautifully decorated. From the window, you could take in a panoramic view of the city's skyline, and at night, as the lights came on one by one, the whole night view really lifted my spirits. Downstairs, it's right by Bayi Square, and a short walk takes you to Jiefangbei. There are also many other squares and shopping malls nearby. The alleys downstairs hide a lot of delicious food like hot and sour noodles, hotpot, and ice jelly, so it's super convenient to head back to the hotel after a long day of exploring."

"A true gem of a hotel for families with kids! My little one fell in love with the castle-like exterior at first sight. The indoor kids' club is fully equipped, and they even offer childcare services, which is a lifesaver for parents. The lake view is stunning and expansive; a stroll by the lake with the breeze was incredibly relaxing. The heated pool maintained a perfect temperature, and the kids didn't want to leave. The rooms are spacious, and the family suites are well-designed. Breakfast includes kid-friendly options, and the front desk staff were exceptionally kind. The first room I was given had an odor, and they immediately and swiftly arranged for staff to help me switch rooms and move my luggage. The breakfast quality is excellent with a wide variety of choices, and everything tastes great – you could eat something different every day. I'll definitely be back!"

WWangyixiongLocated under the Jialing River and Yangtze River Bridge in Yuzhong District, Shushan Hotel is not far from the Hongya Cave and Jiefangbei area, yet maintains a peaceful distance from the hustle and bustle.
The hotel comprises several low-rise buildings, which staff informed me used to be General Chen Cheng's residence. It's situated at the exit of a tunnel. You park at the bottom of the hill and take two separate elevators up to the reception center.
The overall vibe of the hotel is very chill. Ancient trees soar overhead, and the observation decks are thoughtfully integrated into the natural surroundings, offering views of Chongqing's nightscape amidst lush greenery. The hotel also has its own independent coffee shop, serving coffee and simple desserts. I could easily spend half a day lounging on a beanbag chair on the observation deck with a coffee.
The staff provide warm and attentive service. I arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night, just before the May Day holiday, and a hotel attendant warmly greeted me at the tunnel entrance, guiding me all the way. Any small issues that arose were quickly resolved.
The hotel also provided several well-planned city walk routes starting from the property.
I rarely book guesthouses and used to have some preconceived notions about them – I can be a bit of a mean girl, after all. But I honestly feel like I could stay at Shushan Hotel a million more times.

TTaiyangwenquandanThe room was fantastic, with a strong Chinese aesthetic. Most of the furniture and facilities were made of wood, which was very comfortable. There was even a mahjong table, though we couldn't gather enough people to play, haha! The bed was very comfortable. Upon check-in, we also received a complimentary enhanced hot spring experience. We chose lavender, and to our surprise, it was freshly brewed, which was a lovely surprise. After checking out, I left my power bank in the room, and it wasn't convenient to arrange a courier. Our butler, Xiaoya, brought it to us the next morning, for which I'm extremely grateful.
Both the check-in and check-out services were excellent. When we left, we didn't even need to go to the front desk to check out, but the butler still chased us out from the front desk to say goodbye, ask about our stay, and see us off.
Although breakfast for two was included when we booked the room, we didn't wake up in time. I'll definitely try it next time I visit!

DDaiwazhubianzhongguoI never expected to find such a warm and inviting hotel hidden away in Ciqikou Ancient Town.
Traveling with kids, finding the right room type is always a headache, but the family room we booked this time was perfect – the beds were big enough, the space was generous, and my child didn't want to get out of the bathtub. Even better, you can take a taxi directly to the main entrance, and there's an underground parking lot too. It's so convenient, it hardly feels like you're in an ancient town.
In the center of the courtyard is a pavilion, surrounded by small stools. When the fire was lit, a singer played guitar in the pavilion. I sat by the fire with a craft beer in hand, feeling the warmth on my face, and my mind just emptied – I wasn't thinking about anything, just the crackling of the firewood. In that moment, it felt like I was sitting in an old courtyard deep in the mountains, where time slowed down enough to hear my own heartbeat. Xiao Qing and Xiao Tuo at the front desk were also very attentive, reminding us about the fire and singing in the evening when we checked in.
The hotel is called 'Yueyin Chongqing Courtyard', and it's such a fitting name. It truly feels like a hidden courtyard in the city, full of life and human touch.
Next time I come to Chongqing, I'll probably detour here just for this fire again.

GGuest UserIt's truly rare to find such quality and price in a prime location like Jiefangbei. The hotel is right in the heart of the Jiefangbei central business district, with the pedestrian street and Bayi Food Street just outside the door. It's also very close to Hongyadong and the Yangtze River Cableway, allowing easy walking access to all the popular tourist spots. The subway station is right next door, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and shopping. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and it's now my top choice for accommodation when visiting Chongqing. I'll definitely stay here again next time!

On our first night, we left our wine glasses on the coffee table, and the next evening, during turn-down service, they had thoughtfully prepared drinks and snacks for us. It really shows personalized and considerate care for guests. There's a butler cabinet outside the room, which is incredibly practical. You can place items you need or laundry inside, and it doesn't disturb your rest. I've stayed in many five-star hotels, and this design is truly ingenious and valuable. The value for money is great too; laundry is free, and the mini-bar with drinks and snacks is replenished daily, also free of charge. The location is superb. The 7th-floor terrace offers an amazing view of Hongyadong and Chongqing's night skyline right opposite.

Ssandy_qiqiWhenever I go to Chongqing, I always visit Guanghuan Plaza, which reminded me of this hotel nearby. After checking in, all I can say is that I got a five-star hotel experience for less than 800 yuan. First, let's talk about the room layout: two 1.35-meter single beds can be combined to form a massive 2.7-meter double bed. This is perfect if you're staying with kids – plenty of space. The room also has a bathtub, and crucially, it came with disposable bathtub liners (I forget the exact term!). Plus, the children's amenities provided were really good quality, not just an afterthought. What's even more impressive is that they placed dental floss right on the vanity – all the little touches were delightful. The product manager truly deserves commendation. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chongqing.
Oh, and the breakfast buffet was excellent too, with a wide variety of delicious food. What really blew me away was finding steamed red dates at a buffet for the first time – that's a treat I usually only get at home!

The service was acceptable for Chongqing, but there's room for improvement. My most significant impression this stay was the unprofessional staff. I don't understand why even in-house guests at the bar by the window are subject to a minimum spend. They were also confused about my payment at checkout, even though I had already paid for the room. And during checkout, a staff member kept asking me to leave a positive review on Trip.com, which doesn't align with the ambiance of a luxury hotel.

It's a must-visit, especially for the ancient North Hot Springs, which is surrounded by lush greenery and a thousand-year-old hot spring temple. It offers a very serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and clearing your mind. The private hot spring on the room's balcony is incredibly comfortable and great for alleviating fatigue. Owen provided exceptional service. The hotel's design is very distinctive, with every room offering views of the Jialing River.

TToni CummingsI especially enjoyed the luxuriousness and cleanliness of the room. The views were spectacular, offering beautiful panoramas of the city, river, and surrounding mountains. The hotel's facilities were chic and modern, although the layout was a bit unusual. Arriving at an almost vacant ground-floor lobby and then proceeding to the 53rd floor for check-in was an interesting experience. While the bellmen and concierge staff were incredibly friendly and helpful both upon arrival and throughout my stay, it felt somewhat strange not having front desk staff immediately available on the ground floor.
The service overall was excellent, and every staff member I encountered was warm and welcoming. The Westin Chongqing Liberation Square is also conveniently located near several local attractions, including a nearby temple. There are plenty of bars and dining options within walking distance, from delicious Chinese cuisine (especially hotpot) to Western-style restaurants such as Big Pizza. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay and appreciated both the hotel's comfort and its prime location. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chongqing.

GGuest UserI wanted a quieter hotel and ended up choosing the Marriott. It's definitely much quieter than the bustling downtown area of Yuzhong. The hotel is a bit older, so the facilities are a little dated, but the room we stayed in was well-maintained. The breakfast is great for those who don't eat spicy food, and the *xiaomian* (noodles) were delicious! I especially loved their homemade chili oil – a spoonful in the noodles made them fragrant without being too spicy. In the evening, you can go up to the observation deck to see the night view, with the neon lights of both banks stretching out before you.
