1. **Facilities are old:** This is unavoidable, as the hotel opened in 2007. Back then, it was definitely top-notch, but it's not 'old' in a negative sense.
2. **Well-maintained:** It's clear the hotel puts effort into maintaining its facilities.
3. **Excellent service:** A big thank you to the front desk staff – they were never impatient, no matter when we approached them. Our family room had a leaking bathroom, and since it was late, we didn't switch rooms that night. The next day, they upgraded us directly to a large family suite! My child was thrilled, and they even waived the breakfast fee for one person.
4. **Presidential visit:** The President of Ecuador also stayed there during our visit, haha! What a coincidence. Security was extra strict those few days; we even had to go through security checks every time we entered or exited the lobby.
5. **Dining:** We ordered room service from the hotel, including dishes from Shang Palace, and the food was truly delicious! Also, the hotel breakfast is absolutely worth it. Fresh fruit was replenished daily, and the mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary chilled beer and soft drinks, which was a very welcome touch, especially with the hot weather in Chengdu. The hotel's location is convenient for getting around, not far from various attractions, and you can even see egrets along the river right outside. The hotel's location is great, just a five-minute walk from the 'Panda Climbing Wall'. There are direct shuttle buses to tourist attractions and airport buses available there. Taxis can experience slight traffic when entering or leaving, but overall, transportation is very convenient!
The advantages are that the room has a small balcony for drying clothes and good ventilation. The air conditioning is powerful, and the shower head has strong water pressure. We stayed for three days and had no drainage issues. The automatic toilet was very convenient. The mini-fridge was restocked daily with drinks, which our child loved. The cleaning staff were very friendly and greeted us warmly. The breakfast offered a good variety, including Chengdu specialties.
Now for a few downsides: the elevator wait time was a bit long. The comforter felt a bit damp and had a slight odor, so I couldn't get it too close to my face while sleeping. The toilet also had an odor, likely due to some parts of the automatic toilet not being thoroughly cleaned, requiring frequent ventilation. The shower room lacked shelves for toiletries. The furniture and facilities were a bit basic; with two suitcases open, they could only be placed on the sofa as there was nowhere else to put them. The afternoon tea and late-night snack options were limited, but it's better than nothing.

The constant temperature swimming pool on the third floor was absolutely amazing. The water was clear and clean, and when there weren't many people, it felt like having the whole place to yourself. After a swim, I went to the gym for a run, with views of the Global Center visible right outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. The yoga room had solid wood flooring, and with the sunlight streaming in, the whole space felt incredibly healing. I followed a yoga session with the smart mirror, and after a good sweat, all the day's fatigue vanished.

This Home Inn I booked for my trip to Chengdu was easily the best I've ever stayed at; the experience was truly fantastic. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a lovely fragrance, which was incredibly pleasant. The front desk staff were also very warm and attentive during check-in, always greeting guests with a smile. Their service was impeccable – always available but never intrusive.
The hotel's overall decor has a distinctly British feel, and both the staff's attire and the interior design were excellent. The environment is quiet despite being in a bustling area; the whole place felt very peaceful.
The hotel breakfast was quite good, offering local Chengdu specialties like 'xiaomian' (noodles), 'chaoshou' (wontons), and 'douhua' (tofu pudding). The cleaning staff were also very friendly; the 'auntie' cleaning our room even brought us extra bottles of water when tidying our room during our extended stay.
The hotel is conveniently located in the city center near Xinnanmen Metro Station, just a 150m walk away. Having the metro so close made getting around and visiting attractions incredibly easy. Chunxi Road is just one metro stop away, and popular spots like Kuanzhai Alley and Wenshu Monastery are also easily accessible. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including 'chuan'er' (skewer) and hot pot restaurants. Just a short walk down University Road, you'll find even more local snacks.

We chose this hotel because it was close to the zoo and panda base, and the receptionist, Xiao Shu, greeted us warmly as soon as we entered the lobby. She gave our child candy and even provided slippers and a children's toothbrush – very thoughtful! The hotel environment was great, and there were many snack shops, hot pot restaurants, barbecue restaurants, and skewers restaurants nearby, all with delicious food. The room was very clean, well-equipped, and the shower temperature was just right. The air conditioning was also very smart.
