"Staying at Honglin Pavilion Inn in Dali was an absolute gem! The facilities and amenities were top-notch, far exceeding my expectations, and truly enhanced my trip. The inn's location is incredibly convenient. Step right out into the ancient city's streets, and a stroll to Erhai Lake is just a few minutes away. Walking into the courtyard was a breathtaking experience; it's designed in a classical Chinese garden style, with rockeries and flowing water complemented by vintage lanterns. The common areas feature incredibly comfortable rattan chairs and tea sets, and they even provide complimentary tea and utensils. In my free time, I'd brew a pot of tea and enjoy the scenery – it was so relaxing I didn't want to leave. All in all, the stay brought immense happiness. Next time I'm in Dali, I'll definitely choose this place again!"

"We stayed at this property for one night. It is located in the city centre and directly faces Erhai Lake, offering a stunning view. We booked a sea-view room, and the scenery was truly amazing. The booking included breakfast and a complimentary drop-off at the train station. The host welcomed us very warmly. When she learned that we would be leaving early the next morning, she kindly arranged for an earlier breakfast and organised the free drop-off using a new Toyota MPV. The host also recommended several nearby places to visit. We followed her suggestions and had a wonderful time. "Highly recommended, a perfect score! The ambiance of this hotel in Dali is absolutely stunning! The luckiest thing about my trip to Dali was choosing the right hotel! As soon as I arrived at the entrance, I was captivated by the lush greenery. The courtyard is filled with succulents and local plants, with traditional Bai-style architecture interspersed throughout. Every casual photo turns out to be a stunning, atmospheric shot, so there's no need to specially seek out scenic spots for photos. The room offers amazing views; opening the window reveals the silhouette of Cangshan Mountain. I woke up to bird songs in the morning and enjoyed a sky full of stars at night – it was so tranquil and healing. The interior decor is minimalist yet tasteful, and the cleanliness was exceptional. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and combined with the gentle lighting, it instantly melted away all travel fatigue. The public areas are also a big plus: a lounge area surrounded by greenery, clean and tidy corridors, and even fresh flowers placed in the elevator area. You can feel the thoughtfulness everywhere. "Before coming to Dali, I spent a lot of time comparing hotels and finally chose Pullman, opting against a B&B. It turned out to be a wise decision. I was traveling with my parents, and all of us were very satisfied. The front desk staff had an amazing attitude and proactively upgraded us to an executive floor. The concierge was enthusiastic and professional. We had a lot of luggage, and they handled everything for us. Our butler, Mary, was incredibly attentive, from recommending various itineraries and providing a hand-drawn hotel map to suggesting local delicacies and sending thoughtful daily greetings. She was both professional and warm. The hotel gym isn't huge but is very well-equipped. The breakfast was also delicious, with Dali specialties like Ersi (rice noodles), roasted Erkuai (rice cake), and Xidoufen (pea flour soup), all tasting great. Here's a small detail: I left my room card on the dining table. Before I even reached the elevator and realized my mistake, a kind lady from the restaurant came running to bring it to me. To sum up, among all the hotels I've experienced during my self-driving trip in Yunnan, I feel the Pullman staff have the best service attitude. From the front desk, concierge, and butler to the restaurant staff and even the cleaning crew, everyone was smiling and thoughtful towards guests. A huge thumbs-up! "The hotel location is quite strategic, can walk around 10 minutes to ancient town and 15 minutes to erhai lake. This hotel doesn't have any lift, but the host is so kind with our luggage and help us to carry it safely to our room located at the 1st floor. Room is provided with basic amenities, and it is spacious for our 3 days 2 nights stay. We want to thank to them cause they even help us to arrange transport for our early morning checkout to the railway station. They even recommend good halal eateries for us. "I was looking for a place close to the three pagodas, and still in the ancient town of Dali. This place is only 800 meters or so away from Chongsheng Temple and the three pagodas sites. Lots of restaurants and shops around. As soon as I arrived, the owner upgraded my room. He speaks very good English. He is a very friendly person. In the morning, he recommended a few places to visit.i have extended my stay one more night. The place is very clean and up on the roof level you see the tallest pagoda and rhe beautiful mountains, Erhai lake. It is a wonderful place to stay and I can recommend it. I'd stay here again."

Turn right, and you're on a main road where you can easily catch a taxi. If you're driving, the hotel can help with parking. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so you can always ask for assistance. Upon arrival, the hotel also provides a series of travel and food recommendations, which is very thoughtful. There's a Garfield cat in the lobby, so if you don't feel like going out, you can just hang out in the courtyard and pet the cat. The garden on the third floor is full of succulents, and you can enjoy distant views of Cangshan Mountain, perfect for a sunny afternoon. Overall, I highly recommend this place and will definitely tell my friends about it. I'll definitely stay for more days next time if I have the chance! 😁😁😁"

First, the Airbnb offers airport pickup service, so I was able to get straight into the car upon landing and head directly to the accommodation. The room decor was cozy and charming, and having a bathtub really helped wash away the fatigue of the journey. The host was incredibly welcoming; when I overslept, they even made sure to call me down for breakfast. They also packed some delicious flower cookies for me to take on my way, setting a perfect mood for the first day of my trip! The view from the rooftop is also fantastic!

We spent our nights there at the bar/cafe area hanging out with them as well as the majestic yet adorable cat. The location is little away from the more famous tourist spots, but the experience was worth it and you can travel anywhere easier by cab. Would recommend this to a friend!

MMrs LeafIf I could, I’ll give a score of 100/10! This is such a fantastic experience staying here. What is so impressive is the SERVICE and the actual room facilities. The staff is soooooooo friendly and helpful - he basically helped me plan my itinerary every day because I came with zero plans and only wanted to relax. He helped me to plan my route and book a car for day use. And the driver is amazing too - he brought me to try 扎染 tie dye even when I didn’t know anything about it. He made sure I went to a local experience instead of expensive tourist trap. And he’s great at taking photos too! Back to the staff. He would understand what I’m interested in and then give suggestions that I’ll like. Amazing. And there is even a whole list of things to watch out for when visiting all the tourists attractions. When you arrive, they’ll also message you all the places to eat. There is also a convenience store right downstairs if you want to buy anything. They also gives you instructions if you want food delivery. So detailed!! And they are so proud of the fact that their rooms are exactly what it looked like on the app. So clean so new so amazing. Look at that view! You wake up to the view of the vast sea. And there is a giant bath tub for you to experience soaking in bubble bath (also given) at the same time. The toilets are always the make or break when travelling. And the toilets are amazing again. AUTOMATIC flush and the seat cover automatically opens and close. My goodness. And the shower has different outlets if you want some form of water acupuncture 🤣 very modern. And they even have a towel dryer/heater!!! You can dry anything small and it’ll be dry and crisp. Normally hotel pillows give me headaches. But not here! They have the latex foam pillow and also the normal fluffy pillows. It is so suitable and comfortable for me who is accustomed to memory foam pillows. How can accommodation get so detailed and excellent? Breakfast is another wonderful experience. You go the dining area and an aunty cooks porridge or noodles or meat buns or corn or sweet potatoes and serve them to you. There is even soya bean drink and fritters and lots of sauces and seasonings and small bites. And there is unlimited bottled beverages like honey jasmine tea or oolong tea and fruits and coffee. How do they even make a profit? And there is even a place to rest and relax and drink tea if you come with friends. I can’t wait to come back here with more friends and family and let me experience what I enjoyed so much here. Thank you to the staff and to the boss! 😁😍

YYuki Serene AngI had an extremely enjoyable stay at Mr Ma’s accommodation. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with genuine warmth and sincere hospitality. Throughout our stay, he assisted us with every need and often went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. We loved our time here so much that we extended our stay to a total of six nights! We were deeply touched by his generosity and the thoughtfulness he showed every single day. Each morning, he checked in on us, asked if we had slept well, and made sure we had everything we needed. This is a family-run accommodation, and every member of the Ma family was friendly, warm, and welcoming. Mr Ma even took special care to accommodate my daughter’s cat allergy by keeping their cats away from the common areas — a gesture we truly appreciated. One of the highlights of our stay was the meaningful conversations we shared with the family. We exchanged stories about our respective countries, shared insights about our cultures, and learned so much from one another. These heartfelt chats made our stay feel even more personal, and we genuinely enjoyed connecting on a deeper level beyond the usual host–guest interactions. The room facilities were excellent — warm blankets, electric heating pads, newly installed air-conditioners, towels, a hair dryer, and a kettle. And every morning, we were greeted with a comforting bowl of noodles lovingly prepared by Mrs Ma — such a heartwarming way to start the day. The location is ideal as well: close to the bustling streets and ancient town, with the mountains and lake just nearby. We enjoyed sitting on the top-floor balcony in the cool, crisp morning air, taking in the peaceful mountain views. Mrs Ma also shared wonderful food recommendations, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. During our stay, we met international travellers from France, and the Ma family communicated effortlessly using translation apps. It’s clear they have plenty of experience hosting guests from around the world. We also made a short trip to Lijiang, arranged through Mr Ma’s recommendation — a comfortable 9-seater car that picked us up directly from the accommodation and dropped us off at our next destination. I highly, highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area. I am deeply grateful for the kindness and warmth shown to us throughout our stay — right up until the moment we left, when Mr Ma personally helped us with our luggage. Before you leave, be sure to take a photo with the family, and don’t miss the chance to chat with Mr Ma’s son, who is very eager to practise English with travellers. Dali Anyu is nestled within the ancient city, offering convenient access to transportation. The entire hotel beautifully captures the essence of Dali, providing a serene, welcoming, and high-end atmosphere. Though not large, this charming three-story wooden hotel exudes a strong retro and ethnic vibe. Staying here felt incredibly peaceful, immediately shielding us from the ancient city's hustle and bustle. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Upon my arrival, I initially had trouble finding the entrance, but a staff member promptly came out to greet me, helped carry my luggage directly to the room, and even presented a lovely welcome tea ceremony. Their hospitality made us feel truly cherished, as if we were guests in our own home. Inside the room, the amenities had a charming retro design, complemented by high-end, incredibly comfortable bedding that invited immediate sleep. The toiletries were top-notch, alongside a Dyson hairdryer, premium mineral water, and an exquisite laundry service. In the evenings, they thoughtfully provided Tremella soup, known for its calming properties. Every detail contributed to a truly warm and cozy stay. A charming, distinctive touch was the room key – a long-handled, retro-style key. Room cleanliness was impeccable, far surpassing similar hotels; even the smallest crevices in the bathroom were spotless. Another highlight was the afternoon tea and breakfast. They were truly bespoke, freshly prepared upon order – absolutely no pre-made dishes or buffet lines. Everything was served individually, featuring fresh, unique, high-quality, hygienic, and delicious ingredients. I was even delighted to find sea cucumber on the menu! Upon departure, all the Anyu staff came out to bid me a warm farewell – a truly wonderful and memorable gesture. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!

It is also close to the ancient city, Longqi Wharf and other places, and the transportation is convenient. The room is spacious and bright, the sound insulation effect is good, the view is wide, and the room can see the view of the Bohai Corridor. Suitable for daze and taking pictures. The hotel owner and warm and friendly, there is a parking lot shuttle bus pick-up service, providing itinerary planning, attraction recommendations and car rental and other intimate help. The homestay is quiet in the middle of noisy, the surrounding environment is quiet, suitable for like to relax and enjoy nature. There is not a lot of traffic around, and the noise of excessive commercialization is avoided. All in all, it was a great experience.

However, it was nothing of the sort – it was absolutely stunning, and the service was impeccable! My elderly companion did mention that the noise from duvets being washed at night made it difficult for her to fall asleep. Despite this, overall, we were very pleased. I had planned to visit the wetland park for the sunset, but a staff member advised there was no need, as we could enjoy the view directly from their property! They even provided a complimentary farewell gift upon our departure!

The entire house is spotless, creating a calm and relaxing feeling the moment you step through the door. They also provide a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you need if you feel like cooking. The neighbourhood itself is incredibly instagrammable, with picture-worthy corners everywhere you turn. On top of that, the host was extremely helpful, answering all our questions quickly and making everything smooth and easy. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Dali.

I stayed at the Jupiter Castle Hotel once before, right after it opened, and it left a deep impression. So I returned to Wenbi Village. Compared to a few years ago, Wenbi Village's commercial offerings are much more developed, and this hotel's service is even more meticulous. The overall aesthetic is perfect for photos. My room booking included complimentary pick-up service from Dali Airport, taking me directly to the hotel. The butler kept in touch throughout my stay. That very evening, I saw a 'burning cloud' sunset, which hadn't appeared for many days. The next morning, I witnessed the rare sight of the sun illuminating Cangshan Mountain. Wenbi Village is situated at an elevation that offers a panoramic view of Cangshan and Erhai Lake, arguably one of the best locations. Although it's been open for three or four years, the hotel is very well-maintained. The mini-fridge was stocked with many complimentary items, including face masks, jellies, and drinks, all free to enjoy. The hygiene was impeccable, and the overall environment was fantastic. Just staying in the room, curled up on the sofa, with the warm sunlight streaming in and bathing me, instantly made all the stress and exhaustion from work disappear. Thank you, Dali, and thank you, Jupiter Castle, for making this trip so perfect. I'll definitely stay here again next time I get the chance!

The service was incredibly heartwarming too! Both the owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They proactively helped with luggage, recommended local hidden gems for food, and offered tips on what to avoid.
