"This is a wonderful guesthouse. In fact, it was my favorite accommodation of my 30 days in China. The family who run it are absolutely delightful - it's their home, where guests are made to feel very welcome. One family member speaks good English; another has a speed & dexterity on the translation app that is unparalleled; and everyone is extraordinarily helpful. I've never received so much kind assistance in a lodging before.. although the two little grandsons, aged 2 and 3, are still learning ;-)
The location is just perfect. It's a few minutes' walk outside Dali old town's south gate. I soon discovered it's actually better to stay here than inside the gates, because there are more food options and fewer tourist shops in this zone. The guesthouse is located right between two streets that have many, many restaurants, plus numerous street stalls and even a few cafes, with places open from early morning until late at night. So it's the ideal base for enjoying the multiple delights of this very special city.
Oh, and my room was great too, up on the third floor. I loved waking up to views of Mt Cangshan, sometimes topped with a cloud, sometimes clear.
If I can return to Dali, I will request a room here for sure. Staying in this family guesthouse makes a magical place seem even more magical. :-)"

The moment I opened the door, I felt such a warm welcome. The room was so spotless it literally shined, not a speck of dust even in the corners. The blackout curtains were amazing – a true blessing for late sleepers like me, I could totally sleep in until I woke up naturally. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the ancient city. It was super convenient to step out and explore the local eateries; there were authentic snacks and restaurants everywhere, so I never had to worry about finding food.
The owner was incredibly kind, warm, and friendly. It felt just like visiting relatives, so comfortable. The biggest surprise was that the guesthouse even offered traditional Bai ethnic costumes and intangible cultural heritage bags for guests to wear and use for free! They made for fantastic photos, perfect for blowing up your social media feeds!
And here's the highlight! The owner's son is absolutely adorable! He's tall, 186cm, sunny, handsome, and incredibly thoughtful. "The location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk from the South Gate of Dali Ancient City. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, making both transportation and dining very convenient. The hotel has an antique charm and even offers free traditional ethnic costumes for guests to take photos in. I stayed for several days and they also provided pick-up service. The room was clean and hygienic, and the shower had great water pressure. The TV came with a membership, so I could watch various shows and videos directly. Xiao Wei's service was very attentive. The only minor drawback was the lack of a full-length mirror in the room."

"This hotel for me is very nicely deco, location next to Halal Restaurant for easy Muslim traveler like us. Thw lady owner ot this hotel was kind and helpfull to get us trasnport to railway station also help to pick our luggages down 3 floors. The disadvantage of this hotel it doesnt have lift, no heated floor or bed but the interior is very nice and cosy. Location to the nearest ancient town is about 20 min walks. To get to Erhai Lake need to take Didi and the owner really advice us how to bargain for bike rent to the lowest fees. Great tips! Thanks"

And even had more discount while using their accounts to order for 小龙虾 🥹 very grateful for all the help and love they had given us. And even allow us to exchange money from cash into our Alipay account although it was small amount. The location was great also near to railway station and have lots of food shop nearby and also supermarket."

"This is my favorite guesthouse in Dali, and it's my third time staying here; I come back every year around this time. The service is consistently excellent, and everyone is very friendly. They upgraded my room for free, and I could see Cangshan Mountain right from my bed.
The location is very close to Dali Ancient City, making it super convenient for a stroll, and it's also not far from Cangshan Mountain. The restaurant at the intersection is delicious.
There are many good restaurants nearby, and ordering takeout to the guesthouse is easy. The waffles for afternoon tea were amazing – I enjoyed them both days. My sister even told me she wanted to go back to Erhai Lake the next day just for the waffles and floral tea!
The cats and dogs at the guesthouse are adorable, especially the new little black Shiba Inu, who is so cute and lively, wagging its tail to greet everyone. I'll definitely be back!"

GGuest UserAfter looking at several B&Bs and reading countless reviews, my friends and I finally settled on this 'starry sky room.' The moment we opened the door, we were absolutely blown away! The room's design is incredible. Lounging in the soaking tub, watching the blue sky and white clouds by day, and stargazing at night—it was so romantic and delightful. The tent and beanbag chairs were a real highlight for me, perfectly capturing that relaxed, laid-back vibe. The quality of the bed was superb; I slept like a baby. We also lucked out and got to enjoy a delicious and plentiful breakfast. The front desk service was incredibly warm and attentive; they proactively helped us carry our luggage up and down three flights of stairs and were always available when we needed them—they truly nailed all the details. Next time I'm in Dali, this will definitely be my go-to place!

From the moment I stepped in, I was instantly captivated by the 270-degree panoramic sea view lobby – the stunning blue vista truly made it feel like stepping into a painting. The room was spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the sea. In the mornings, I was gently woken by the sound of the waves, and in the evenings, watching the sunset dip below the horizon from the balcony instantly melted away all my fatigue. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and both the facilities and cleanliness were outstanding. Even the toiletries were high-end brands – the attention to detail was exceptional! The hotel service was simply impeccable; the front desk staff were warm, attentive, and even thoughtfully recommended some hidden local gems. The breakfast spread was both lavish and exquisite. And most importantly, this place is incredibly photogenic! Every corner offers a perfect photo opportunity, and even a casual snap turns into an Instagram-worthy masterpiece. MM481726****While doing a travel photoshoot in Dali, the accommodation arranged by the photography company was so bad that I couldn't sleep at night. I decisively switched to another place, and it turned out to be one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in.
**Amenities**: The room was spacious, with a separate wet and dry area, a balcony, a sofa, and a bathtub. Disposable bathtub liners, face towels, and bath towels were all provided. The shampoo and shower gel were Adouff, and the hairdryer was Liefen. The bed was also very comfortable, ensuring excellent sleep quality.
**Service**: The lovely front desk lady warmly welcomed us and actively helped with our luggage. She enthusiastically recommended local delicacies and even upgraded our room type after learning we were there for a wedding photoshoot. The breakfast was also very generous, just like at home, with the auntie cooking us rice noodles, heating milk, and cutting fruit for us.
**Location**: There are many great places to eat nearby, and it's also very close to Erhai Lake for scenic views.

AAurora Alexandra NewellI spent a wonderful two weeks here in April / May, and absolutely loved it - my calmest, easiest experience in China so far. The hotel is clean and beautiful, the quality of everything in the rooms is very high, but it still has a ‘homestay’ feel - the balance is just right. The roof terrace has a gorgeous view of the mountains and is very relaxing, the hosts are kind and helpful (no English is spoken, but WeChat works well). The street is quiet, but it’s only a few minutes’ walk to great street food, cafes, bars and restaurants. I absolutely recommend this hotel and will return if I’m ever in Dali again.

__WeChat520040****The service attitude is good, but that's different from actually delivering good service. This hotel's price is high compared to others nearby. While the staff's attitude is great, the service and management are subpar. There's an exaggerated, showy facade, but basic services aren't done well, yet they proudly claim to be a branded hotel.
1. First, the butler service. Upon check-in, I was told there'd be afternoon tea and that I needed a voucher to redeem it in the common area. Some other hotels even deliver to your room and ask your preferred time, but here, when afternoon tea time arrived, the butler didn't even send a WeChat reminder. So, I missed it—my bad, I accept that.
2. So I went to the common area on the third floor, hoping for some snacks. They state it's open until 9 PM, but I arrived at 6 PM. The area was empty, no plates or cutlery replenished, the coffee machine was off, no hot tea, and the fruit bowls were almost empty with only one or two pieces left. I contacted the hotel, and a very kind staff member eventually brought me some items, but it really felt like no one was in charge.
3. What really highlighted the chaotic management was breakfast. The night before, they asked for my dining time the next day, stating it was to manage and arrange guest flow. Yet, when I arrived the next day, there were no seats! I ended up sharing a table with strangers. So what was the point of pre-arranging and managing? It would have been better not to ask; guests might have felt better and wouldn't have had to wake up at a specific time for breakfast. Besides me, there was another group of guests standing and waiting too. The hotel said some other guests didn't adhere to their times, so they were seated. Are punctual guests being punished? If they can't even manage and communicate something like this effectively, what exactly is the hotel's 'guest flow management'?
4. After arriving at the breakfast area, there was no introduction to what was available, what was self-service, or if tea and coffee were self-serve. Essentially, I was just left to my own devices by the so-called 'butler'. At the self-service area, I found two dishes were empty, the hot milk wasn't hot, and the hot tea was cold. Guests at the next table also complained that their different kind of tea was cold.
5. They brought out a pile of breakfast items in a rush, without explaining what anything was. What's the point of serving abalone? It's all just for show. Piling the table full seems to be their idea of completing the task.
6. Regarding the facilities, the room door lock was an old-fashioned key, very difficult to open. After entering the room, to lock the door, you have to use the key again from the inside! Every time I handled that key, my hands smelled metallic, and the fabric charm on it was dirty and disgusting.
7. The soundproofing is terrible, a common issue with old buildings.
8. Many items in the room were labeled 'Not for Gifting,' which felt very uncomfortable. It implies guests might steal things. It's not like this is a super high-end hotel or the items are particularly luxurious. Even the slippers were labeled. I've stayed in many top-tier hotels costing tens of thousands a night worldwide, and none were like this. Guests who can afford over a thousand a night probably aren't going to steal things.
I really didn't experience any 'butler service.' Was I managing them, or were they my butlers? This all points to fundamental issues in the hotel's management and staff training. I will not consider staying at any other hotels of this brand in the future.

It is also close to the ancient city, Longqi Wharf and other places, and the transportation is convenient. The room is spacious and bright, the sound insulation effect is good, the view is wide, and the room can see the view of the Bohai Corridor. Suitable for daze and taking pictures. The hotel owner and warm and friendly, there is a parking lot shuttle bus pick-up service, providing itinerary planning, attraction recommendations and car rental and other intimate help. The homestay is quiet in the middle of noisy, the surrounding environment is quiet, suitable for like to relax and enjoy nature. There is not a lot of traffic around, and the noise of excessive commercialization is avoided. All in all, it was a great experience.

__APC502968****This time, my boyfriend and I traveled together and stayed for 3 nights. Because the same room type was fully booked, we had to change to an upstairs room on the second day. The owner was incredibly enthusiastic and always offered to help us move our large suitcases, they were so kind! One night, my boyfriend suffered from altitude sickness in the early hours, and I messaged the owner. They replied instantly and brought us an oxygen tank, constantly checking in on us, which was truly touching! The breakfast every day was freshly cooked and fragrant rice noodles. The room was also very spacious and clean. In terms of location, it's very close to Sanyue Street, great for shopping, and also close to the ancient city. You can even rent an electric scooter from the owner! There's also a billiard table downstairs for entertainment! I have to say it again, the owner is really, really nice!! I didn't actually take any photos of the hotel, but the environment is really good!

PPuteriFarahOur stay of 6 pax with 3 bedrooms was amazing! A bit tricky going to the place for the first time as we had to get our Didi driver to contact with the place for the exact location. However, they allowed us for early checkins, assisted to show our room, the location is an easy access for Didi drivers, and the view from the homestay was breathtaking. Wish we could stay longer!

The host was incredibly welcoming; when I overslept, they even made sure to call me down for breakfast. They also packed some delicious flower cookies for me to take on my way, setting a perfect mood for the first day of my trip!

First off, the decor is stunning – it feels like a secluded estate nestled between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. It's perfect for travel photography, so if you're into that, definitely come prepared. I hadn't originally planned on a photoshoot, but the setting was so beautiful I decided to go for it. To my surprise, the photographer was incredibly professional, and the photos turned out amazing!
Then there's the natural scenery. Waking up every day to the picturesque views of Cangshan and Erhai was breathtaking; it truly made me want to stay forever. This season also brings seagulls, and you can see many of them playing around Erhai Lake every morning between 9 and 10 AM. In the evenings, a crescent moon hangs in the serene night sky, accompanied by twinkling stars.
Next, the service: it’s truly attentive, like having a personal butler. From the moment you step into the estate, you feel constantly looked after.
The facilities are also excellent, with several thoughtful details I really appreciated. For example, the facial tissues by the sink are soft cotton wipes, the hairdryer is a Dyson, and the mini-fridge is stocked with snacks and face masks.
Finally, let's talk about the dining. While breakfast isn't a buffet, the individual set meal each morning is fantastic, featuring a local specialty main dish, whole grains, fruit, and either black tea or coffee. In the afternoon, there's afternoon tea, and in the evening, a sweet soup is delivered to your room – a truly heartwarming touch.
