This stay was truly captivating, and the owner's hospitality captivated me! My sister highly recommended this homestay in Dukezong Ancient Town. The owner, Zhuoma, proactively asked about our itinerary from the moment we booked. Upon arrival, she not only provided a detailed and practical guide to Shangri-La, but also shared tips on hidden gems and pitfalls to avoid. It was even more reliable than a handy guide.
The most heartwarming thing was that as soon as we dropped off our luggage, the owner brought us hot yak milk. It warmed me up and instantly dispelled my travel fatigue. The amenities were even more amazing. The entire home is equipped with smart home technology, allowing for voice control of lights and curtains, making it incredibly easy to use. The furniture is all brand new and high-quality, and it's clear the owner put a lot of thought into the renovations, making the stay both comfortable and technologically advanced.
The view from the window is incredibly thoughtful, and this homestay is simply divine!
The room I stayed in this time truly took full advantage of its ”view room” status. In the morning, as I pulled back the heavy blackout curtains, the view before me was breathtaking: directly across from me was the lush greenery of Guishan Park, and the large prayer wheel atop the mountaintop was so clear it seemed almost palpable. Especially in the evening, the setting sun cast a warm glow on the prayer wheel, and even the people circumambulating the park could be vaguely seen. I didn't have to squeeze into the crowds at the observation deck; I could quietly enjoy this unique view from my room. The photos I took and posted on WeChat Moments were met with inquiries about the address.
Even more touching was the thoughtful attention to detail at the B&B. Considering the local climate and altitude, an oxygen concentrator was pre-installed in the room. The owner came to teach me how to use it. When I occasionally felt a little hypoxic at night, I turned it on and immediately felt much better. Hanging in the closet was a thick, complimentary down jacket. The clean, simple design meant I didn't have to carry heavy clothing, and I wore it when I went out to visit the park or see the prayer wheels, offering both windproof and warmth. This thoughtful consideration of the guests' needs was even more heartwarming than the scenery itself. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting! When we checked out, the owner even prepared a Vajra knot, a local ******* gift, for my girlfriend and me. It was a thoughtful gesture, and it was truly heartwarming. The entire experience was not only comfortable, but also felt like visiting a friend's home. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!

We stayed here with our family and had a truly wonderful experience. The place is very clean, peaceful, and beautifully located close to nature. What touched us the most was how kind and caring the staff and the owner are. They were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and always made sure we were comfortable.
During our stay, one of our family members needed to go to the hospital, and the owner and staff personally helped us, even driving us there and taking care of everything. Their support and kindness went far beyond what we expected, and we are deeply grateful.
This is a perfect place for families. There are animals around such as dogs, cats, and birds, which made the experience even more special and joyful for us. The atmosphere feels warm, safe, and welcoming, just like home.
We are very, very happy to have stayed here and truly appreciate everything they did for us. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Shangri-La, especially families looking for a caring and heartfelt place to stay.

GGuest UserFacilities: I have to mention that the room has an oxygen concentrator and a humidifier, which is super friendly for tourists like us who haven't quite adapted to the high altitude yet. Also, because Shangri-La is a bit dry, the humidifier played a huge role! All the equipment is very new; it really lives up to being a hotel that just opened in 2025. The decor style is beautiful, very high-end and elegant, and the room also features smart home devices, so you can control the curtains and lights with a smart speaker, which is very convenient!
Hygiene: Very clean. Plus, the hotel provides disposable bath towels and disposable toilet seat covers, which is the first time I've encountered something like that – very thoughtful! And they replenish them daily, with plenty of stock.
Environment: Great and very quiet. It's located right inside Dukezong Ancient City, so transportation is super convenient. It's only about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport, and there are many restaurants and photo studios nearby. The options for ordering takeout are also very rich.
Service: The owners are incredibly warm-hearted! Due to a mistake on our part, there was a slight issue with our booking, and we also arrived very late. The room type we originally booked seemed to be unavailable, so the owners directly upgraded our room for us, which we're truly grateful for! The two elders also took great care of us, enthusiastically helping us, and even offered to drive us to the airport when it was time for our flight.
Most importantly! They have two super cute Samoyeds and one super smart, handsome dog named Beibei, Lele, and Laicai, who are very friendly! There's also a little cat named Mimi! The owners told us many stories about their three dogs, and their little girl even took us dog walking with her. In short, staying here doubled the joy of our trip, and we'll definitely choose this guesthouse again next time we visit Shangri-La!

The manor is right at the foot of Shika Snow Mountain, and you're greeted by snow-capped peaks and meadows the moment you open your window. The lawn is impeccably maintained, and even when Napa Lake water rises, it doesn't affect the view. You absolutely must stay in a standalone wooden cabin! Little lambs will poke their heads in, looking for food, making it feel like you've moved into a zoo 🦌.

The hotel provides feeding supplies, and the lambs will chase after you, it’s just too cute! Next to it, the 'Wild Deer Coffee' shop also has fawns and donkeys. You can spend an entire day here with these adorable creatures; it's so therapeutic.

Environment: We booked a scenic room, and from the window, we could see Songzanlin Monastery and prayer wheels. The entire room has underfloor heating and diffused oxygen supply, and the front desk provides free nasal cannulas. The facilities are comprehensive. Since the air conditioning only provides heating in winter, the front desk also provided an air conditioner fan upon our request. The duvet in the room is quite thick, and with the underfloor heating on, it was still quite warm for sleeping. It would be great if thinner blankets were available for guests to choose from.
Breakfast is quite rich, and the specialty 'er-si' noodles are highly recommended. The braised eggs are very flavorful and already peeled.
Location: It's less than a 10-minute walk to the ancient town and Moonlight Square, making transportation very convenient. Directly across the road is a pick-up point for the scenic area shuttle, and another pick-up point is just 50 meters away, making the location extremely convenient.

The hotel is perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist crowds. It offers a peaceful sanctuary overlooking the stunning Napa Lake, with majestic mountains framing the distance. Waking up to such a quiet, picturesque landscape was incredibly rejuvenating. That said, be mindful that this would come with a trade off in terms of convenience.
The room itself was exceptional, blending modern amenities with high-end comforts. We were especially impressed by the features designed for the high-altitude environment:
• High-Tech Comfort: The room included oxygen control and a humidifier, which made a massive difference in our comfort.
• Entertainment & Relaxation: We loved the large projector and screen for cozy movie nights, and the deep soaking bathtub was perfect for unwinding.
Exceptional Hospitality & Care
What truly sets this place apart is the genuine care provided by the owner and the staff:
• Warm Welcome: The owner personally fetched us on our first day, surprised us with a room upgrade, and even pre-heated the room before we arrived.
• Safety & Service: He provided an oxygen canister for emergencies, giving us total peace of mind. The friendly caretaker from Dali was also wonderful, preparing delicious meals and ensuring we were well-looked after.
• Local Experiences: The owner gave us expert travel tips and drove us to Pudacuo National Park at a very reasonable rate. The highlight was being invited to his thome to share Suyou (butter) tea, local bread with cheese and wild honey with his family. This was a raw experience that we found very meaningful
While our stay was fantastic, there were a couple of minor maintenance points that would make the stay better:
• Housekeeping: Some of the toiletries were not replenished during our two-night stay.
• Bathroom Maintenance: The shower head was not fixed very securely, and there was some visible limescale. We understand this might be due to the current season and lower occupancy, but a quick fix would make the room perfect.
Overall, this is a gateway to the heart of Shangri-La. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking peace, luxury, and a genuine local connection.

They also offer afternoon tea, an animal feeding experience, and travel photography services. Plus, there are three adorable Alaskan Malamutes that are incredibly well-behaved and gentle. The butler service was attentive and replies were prompt. The value for money is absolutely amazing. I'll definitely come back again!

Room is spacious, clean and equipped with smart electronics, where you can watch movie or music with big projector. Even toilet bowl has its own sensors to auto open and auto flush.
A human designed room where everything js being considered, separated toilet and shower, 2 water basin.
We were welcomed with hot milk. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserI'm extremely satisfied with this hotel! The location is fantastic, with direct access to Songzanlin Monastery, saving me from climbing so many stairs.
The room was comfortable and cozy, newly renovated. There's no TV, but plenty of books, which was a welcome change to read before bed. The room also had a great view of the lake.
The hotel offers a travel photography service. The photographer was excellent, and the photos turned out beautifully. The price was reasonable too; I ended up taking all 18 photos.
The service was top-notch. Our butler added me on WeChat beforehand and provided navigation instructions to the hotel. The next day, I realized I'd left something behind, and when I contacted the butler, housekeeping had already collected it for me. I picked it up later that afternoon.
Overall, I feel this hotel offers excellent value for money and is definitely worth recommending.
