"We had a wonderful time at the Old Locust Homestay. You can tell the owner really cares about his guests. During our stay there was some work being done in the road out front and the owner made sure to help us with our bags coming in and when we left and also offered a complementary room upgrade along with complementary imported coffee and gave us some local treats as a condolence for the issue. He always went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience. The hotel is newly renovated, very stylist and has great views from the third and fourth floors. We would definitely come back if we are ever in Xi’an again."

"What a wonderful, hospitable owner. The owner was extremely thoughtful and took really good care of all his guests. He took extra effort to prepare an early breakfast for a European family who wanted to leave early for the terracotta museum and helped them rebook the taxi when he observed that the allocated vehicle was too small for the family of 4. I enjoyed having conversations with the owner, covering anything under the sun helping to break the monotony of solo travel. The place is located in a quieter area, but surrounded by the traditional Chinese food stalls, local market, chic restaurants and bars and trendy cafes and bakeries. Clean and tidy, the big living room on the ground floor to relax or for some, a spot to some work."

With Xi'an Railway Station just 6km away and Xi'an Xianyang International Airport only 38km away, transportation is very convenient. Transportation around the city is also convenient, with Yongningmen Metro Station within walking distance. This hotel is located near many of Xi'an's attractions including Xi'an Museum, Defu Lane and Wenchang Men Site. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Xi'an hotel provides parking on site. Our guests consider this hotel to have excellent service. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.
"When traveling with my parents, my biggest concerns are always transportation and accommodation. Although the hotel's vicinity was crowded and noisy at night, my parents surprisingly loved the lively buzz of everyday life, even commenting that such a vibrant atmosphere is essential for young people to thrive. Adding to the positive experience, my dad was so charmed by the cafe's ambiance that he spontaneously asked to take photos. During check-out, a polite young man named Zhou helped us with our luggage, and the cleaning staff went out of their way to assist us. These small, thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly warm and filled the final leg of our trip with a deep sense of gratitude. My parents said they'd love to visit Xi'an again in the future, and I truly hope we'll get to come back soon!"

"This quaint little hotel is tucked away in an alley right in the heart of the Muslim Quarter. It’s in a prime location for great food and shopping. It’s also just a five min walk away from the Drum Tower. The hotel room was clean, bright, and comfortable. We were so surprised that the bedding and linen were higher quality than some of the 4 or 5 star hotels we stayed in. We all slept like a baby every night. There are several floors in the hotel that are decorated tastefully for taking pictures or simply hanging out. They offer complimentary refrigerator and free self-operated laundry service. The owners were very kind and even came out to meet us when we arrived really late at night because she was afraid we couldn’t find our way. I highly recommend this hotel."

The rooms are very nicely decorated and I had the best sleep in a long time. High quality beds and pillows! Hot water comes quickly in the shower with pleasant water pressure. The location is also great if you want to see the Terracotta Warriors. The Huaqing Palace Park and its show is highly recommended. You can reach it by foot."

"This hotel well located within the ancient city walls, walking distance to the Bell and Drum towers and vibrant Muslim Quarters, where you can taste their amazing food. 5 minutes walk distance to the metro to visit the Great Wild Goose Pagoda in the Dantang Everbright City, you can also take to the bus shuttle from here to visit the Terracotta Warriors.
Breakfast was good and the team at reception attentive. I had two issues to mention, when I made the reservation through Trip.it, I was offered a ticket discount to the Terracotta Warriors and an e-sim card, which none of them were acknowledged by the reception team."

"This B&B truly lives up to its reputation as Xi'an's 'most beautiful B&B'. The design is incredibly unique. My room, 'Mijian', was on the top floor. Besides the distinctive room design, there's a rooftop garden, which is truly the most beautiful part. However, Xi'an in summer is too hot to spend time outdoors during the day. Otherwise, I would have loved to enjoy an afternoon tea in the garden, chatting with friends and family. Nevertheless, I still managed to enjoy a bubble bath in the rooftop garden. I'll definitely aim to visit again in spring or autumn next time; I'm sure it would offer a different experience.
The host was exceptionally kind, helping with luggage and providing great travel and dining recommendations.
The only minor inconvenience is its location in the Muslim Quarter, where cars aren't allowed to enter. This meant we had to haul our luggage from an outside parking lot to the B&B, which was quite a challenge, especially in the scorching summer heat.
The room was incredibly well-equipped, with everything from small details like disposable towels and a sewing kit, to a large projection screen, and even unlimited mineral water and Bingfeng (a local Xi'an soda).
Overall, it was a great experience.👍"

"The little cat was absolutely adorable! The room was nice, and the owner was incredibly friendly. However, the Xiaonanmen area felt a bit chaotic and not very safe at night. There were people drinking downstairs, some even passed out on nearby benches. Past midnight, I'd often hear loud noises from cars or motorcycles revving their engines nearby – it was quite annoying. Despite that, the hotel itself felt very secure with its double door locks, and the sound insulation was decent. In the mornings, you could hear some street vendors calling out. And finally, the owner even gave me a small gift upon checkout!"

"Really beautiful artsy hotel with adjacent café. We stayed in the 'Old Tree' room which was fitted with everything you could need. You can easily communicate your requests with the staff via Weixin/WeChat.
The location is great as well, with the hotel being located on an amazing alley with a lot of stylish and cool bars and restaurants. You can easily reach the main attractions like the ancient city wall or the muslim quarter in about 5-10 minutes. There are multiple metro stations in walking distance from the hotel to reach the rest of the city.
All in all a great place at a very reasonable price point. We had an amazing stay."

2203906****I rarely leave reviews, but this place absolutely deserves praise – we had a fantastic experience! We arrived by car, and the incredibly hospitable 'Superman' host met us right in the parking lot. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, and both the children and the seniors in our group were very pleased. Right downstairs, there's an entire street filled with delicious eateries, offering steamed dumplings, grilled skewers, and local yogurt. The complimentary, free-flow Bingfeng soda and Nongfu Spring bottled water are the perfect combination for summer. We've already recommended this place to our friends.

LloujylGreat hotel right in Dachaishi, right above the metro station which conveniently is quite centrally located within the city. Dachaishi station allows you onto Line 4 (direct route to Xi’an North Railway Station) or Line 6 (connect to Line 2 for most of the attractions). There are secondary lifts within the hotel that will allow you go all the way to B1/-1 and straight into the metro (Exit D) without having to step outside - super convenient for when we checked out with luggage or when it was raining/extremely hot.
Caution: those lifts don’t have hotel card security so literally anyone could get on.
There is also a small mall that the hotel building is apart of, great for quick bites. Luckin Coffee and convenient store along the street too. It’s also really close to a well known morning market, Dongcangmen - we walked there quite easily.
The room itself is very clean and standard Ji Hotel design - which I always liked. Air conditioning can be adjusted as well as having an electric toilet. Great shower water pressure and ample hot water even though adjusting the temp was difficult - any big turns and the water was too cold/hot 😅
There is a robot for takeaway/delivery.
Our family room didn’t have a window, which was not a big problem for us - of course it would be nicer to have one! Unlike most family rooms, we had two double beds (usually it’s one double and one single).
Some room for improvement in terms of ventilation within the main hotel lifts. It was in the 40s when we visited Xi’an in May (heatwave) and the lifts would be sitting against the sun during the day making it extremely stuffy. Saw other guests smoking along the hallways which doesn’t get properly ventilated also.
There’s two treadmills for the gym and four dryers and washing machines in the laundry room, on the same floor as the front desk and restaurant.
Service was great, they offered me a cheaper price for one night of breakfast and also gave water bottles whenever we asked.
Would consider staying here again for the comfort and the location in Xi’an!

GGuest UserIt was my first time to visit Xi'an with my partner. I was very satisfied with the overall stay experience! The double bed room was spacious and comfortable, and the mattress was moderately soft and hard, so I slept soundly. The room was clean and tidy, with complete and easy-to-use facilities and good sound insulation, ensuring a quiet rest environment. The bathroom was also cleaned very freshly and there was plenty of hot water. The front desk service was warm and thoughtful, and check-in and check-out were very smooth. The location was convenient, very close to the subway station, and not far from the morning market. The overall cost-effectiveness was very high. It was a pleasant stay experience, highly recommended!

GGuest UserLocated directly opposite Xingqing Palace, the hotel offers easy access to the park for morning and evening strolls. The subway entrance is right at the doorstep, making travel incredibly convenient. There are delicious breakfast options nearby, including xiao long bao and spinach noodles. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and ordered takeout is delivered by a robot. The staff are also very friendly.

CChao ChaoMThe hotel is very conveniently located, and the two subway entrances are not far away, and can be reached in about 5 minutes on foot. The snack street in the alley opposite is also very good. There is also a Yonghui supermarket and a shopping mall next to it, which is convenient for shopping.
The only drawback is that I booked a double bed room, and then when I arrived at the hotel, the front desk said that the double bed room was not available because we arrived late, so I gave a twin bed room. I don’t understand why the booked room was not kept, but it doesn’t matter.
The breakfast is acceptable, the watermelon is delicious, and there are a few bread and desserts.

1. The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the subway station. There is a shopping mall next to the hotel, so it is very convenient for traveling, eating and shopping.
2. The room is quite spacious, and the 2-meter large bed is very comfortable to sleep on.
3. The heating in the room is very good, and the igloo is very warm in winter.
shortcoming
1. The house is not very clean. There are dust particles on the floor. It feels like it has not been wiped. There are hairs left by the previous guest on the bathroom basin, conditioner bottle and floor drain. Moreover, I stayed for 6 days. The hair on the conditioner bottle and the floor drain have never been cleaned. On the first day of check-in, one of the towels had two dirt marks. 2. This hotel is in a commercial-residential apartment building. Each floor is shared by several hotels and other residents. You can't sleep in during the day, as decoration starts at about nine o'clock.
3. There is something wrong with the hotel's circuit facilities. If you use a hair dryer to blow hot air for a long time, the circuit will trip. In the winter, you can't use hot air to blow your hair, so you can only use natural cold air.

DDIANNE ELIZABETHI loved the location of this hotel. So close to the Drum Tower and Muslim quarter, shops, restaurants and metro.
I was a little bit concerned with other reviews about the carpet etc but it was completely fine. Our rooms were tiled. No smoke smells.
One of our rooms had an issue with the tv but staff fixed that promptly. They don’t speak English but are well versed in using the translating apps.
We were happy the self serve laundry was free to use and had detergent. Bottled water is also there if you ran out but they gave us 2 bottles each day as well. I found my clothes dried faster on the roof than in the dryer - it was very hot in Xi’an!
The roof garden is a nice place to relax. You can see the Drum tower and the start of Beiyuanmen St easily. (The photo of the Drum Tower is from the rooftop garden.) Some of the woodboards up there are deteriorating so watch your step, but otherwise it’s lovely. Would be beautiful in spring when the flowers bloom.
Our room was on the laneway side and it was surprisingly quiet despite all the horn honking on the streets below.
Shower head had good water pressure, beds comfortable. Room clean.
The fitness room is in the laundry and does not have much equipment only a treadmill and elliptical/bike so if you want more gym equipment this is not the place for you. The WiFi worked intermittently for us but wasn’t an issue as we had our own data.
The hardest part is finding the hotel the first time you arrive. The hotel does send instructions when you book so definitely keep those on hand. The back of the hotel is the easiest entry from the metro and for arrival by car. If you see a boom gate you are in the right place. Walk past the boom gate up the driveway then follow the signs to Ibis Styles. You basically have to go around another building to find it.
It is too difficult to come with luggage into the front entrance because that is far from the road and is a pedestrian shopping area and square. Cars cannot stop near there.
If you want a budget hotel in a great location, this is definitely worth considering. I was very happy with it.

NNgChrissieThe front desk staff were all very helpful, friendly and cheerful. The room was spacious, amenities good and replenished daily, and housekeeping efficient and effective. In particular, one housekeeper, Ms Liu Tian, went out of her way, to help with my laundry when the washing machine and dryer were occupied. Also, she loaned me a fruit knife when mine was confiscated by the train station security. We really like this hotel, for all the above reasons and its proximity to public transport. We will definitely return to this hotel again.

AAnonymous UserI found the hotel stay quite comfortable. The location to the local shops and metro was very convenient. All essentials and room were serviced daily. The daily breakfast, which i bought separately was of a high standard. The only negatives are there was no in room WiFi as stated in the amenities (this was provided by my previous hotel in Beijing in checkin). The other inconvenience is having to carry my heavy luggage up 20 steps from the Bell Tower metro station exit to reach the hotel entrance. As the hotel entrance is not directly in front of a driver pickup zone, I had to arrange for tour pickups from West street.
