SSAW Boutique Hotel Shanghai Bund

I loved this place, and boutique describes it well. From the moment I set foot in the front door I felt right at home with the friendly welcome. Staff could not do enough to help, and their smiles brightened the day of this weary traveller. This extended to the crew staffing the restaurant and bar on the fourth floor where I enjoyed a few very well priced cocktails while soaking up the city views. My room was comfortable and clean and the bed was dreamy. And talk about location!!! A moments walk from gardens and walking street shopping with a charming little bar next door. The biggest problem I had was deciding what to eat for breakfast which the ample options on offer. I highly recommend

Stepping into the lobby, I was immediately drawn to the stunning flower arrangement at the front desk – so stylish and clearly freshly changed that day, it really brought the whole space to life. The hotel's overall Art Deco style, with its geometric lines and brass accents, was a feast for the eyes everywhere, from the elevators to the hallways, and perfectly suited my taste. The cleaning staff were also incredibly friendly, always greeting me warmly, making me feel as comfortable as if I were staying at a friend's house.

The hotel facilities aren't brand new, and it doesn't have all the trendy, flashy stuff you see in influencer-style hotels, but it has everything you need. The AC and hot water work great, the bed is very comfortable, and the toiletries are all there. It's perfectly adequate for a regular stay and doesn't detract from the experience at all – truly great value for money. Honestly, when I stay at a hotel, I don't look for luxury; attentive service and cleanliness are enough. This hotel doesn't rely on gimmicks; it's all about genuine care. It's perfect whether you're traveling for leisure or business, and it's definitely a place I'd choose again next time. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and odorless. The environment and facilities truly reflect a people-oriented approach, paying attention to the smallest details. However, there's a slight disappointment: I had requested a south-facing room when booking, but unfortunately, my request wasn't fulfilled this time. A south-facing room is my first and only preference when staying at a hotel, as it allows me to open the window for ventilation, fresh air, and a good view.

CN`Hello Word`
Living in a Century of History, Encountering Shanghai's Old Soul | Yangtze Hotel Shanghai Stay Experience Stepping onto the bustling Hankou Road, a creamy white building with a rich Art Deco flair comes into view – this is the Yangtze Hotel, a repository of Shanghai's century-old memories. From the moment you push open the revolving doors, you embark on a journey through time. The hotel's exterior boasts a distinctive look, with staggered balconies adorned with fresh blue hydrangeas. The soft, creamy white walls, paired with vintage geometric carvings, make it a quiet and elegant presence amidst the city's bustling traffic. Looking up, a red-brick Gothic church tower stands nearby, new and old architecture echoing each other. On one side, the clamor of a modern metropolis; on the other, the charm of old Shanghai, steeped in a hundred years of history – the atmosphere is absolutely captivating. Stepping into the lobby, the street noise instantly fades away. Retro patterned marble floors stretch forward, while the high, vaulted stained-glass ceiling casts a dazzling light. Sunlight filters through, creating shifting patterns and an overwhelming sense of history. In the center of the hall stands an elegant black grand piano, poised as if ready to play the enchanting melodies of old Shanghai. Colonnades, vintage chandeliers, exquisite floral arrangements – the recent renovation hasn't erased the building's original historical essence but has instead perfectly blended modern comfort with old-world elegance. Every detail is worth a moment's appreciation. The guest rooms continue the serene and elegant style. Dark brown wooden doorframes and a headboard featuring red and gold vintage patterns are complemented by a soft, sophisticated carpet. There are no overly flamboyant decorations; it's understated yet luxurious. The bed is soft and comfortable, the room is bright and airy, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. At night, closing the windows effectively blocks out street noise, ensuring a peaceful sleep. The bathroom is spacious, with marble countertops, a retro carved mirror, and even a bathtub. After a long day, a hot bath washes away travel fatigue. The amenities truly live up to the standard of a well-established luxury hotel. The geographical location is undoubtedly the hotel's strongest asset. Situated in the city center, Huangpu District, it's within walking distance of key attractions like People's Square, The Bund, and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Stepping out, you're right in the vibrant streets of Shanghai, making transportation incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. Of course, a century-old building will inevitably bear the marks of time. Compared to newly built hotels, the room layouts here have a unique retro charm. But this unparalleled sense of historical atmosphere is precisely the most precious gift the Yangtze Hotel offers. If you're tired of generic chain hotels and wish to understand Shanghai in a different way, the Yangtze Hotel is an excellent choice. Here, you're not just staying in a room; you're living a forgotten chapter of the city's past, a gentle reunion with old Shanghai.

This was my second time bringing my 72-year-old mother to the Banyan Tree on the Bund, and it happened to be her zodiac birth year. The hotel specially arranged a birthday setup, full of ceremony, and even gave her a birthday cake. My mom was pleasantly surprised, and the service was as excellent as ever. Our butler, Cynthia, was incredibly thoughtful and warm, making us feel right at home! The rooftop terrace bar offers a direct view of the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' in Pudong, perfect for enjoying afternoon tea while admiring the beautiful scenery. The night view is even more stunning! The only slight drawback is that the hotel is a bit old, and the showerhead isn't very comfortable, but the cleanliness is still very good. Breakfast was quite ordinary, but my mom said she was very satisfied overall 😊 A special thanks to Alisa, who was so considerate of my mother. Because it was raining, she arranged a complimentary transfer service for us from the hotel lobby directly to the South Railway Station, putting a perfect end to my mother's trip to Shanghai 👍

This stay truly exceeded my expectations! I'm so satisfied! 👍 The hotel's facilities are excellent and very convenient to use. The room was spotlessly clean, with no clutter at all – the hygiene was impeccable. The service was also incredibly thoughtful and attentive; both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very warm and considered every detail, making for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. A special thanks to the consultant who patiently answered my questions and provided wonderful service! The overall experience was fantastic, I genuinely recommend it, and I'll definitely be back!

Traveling with my child during the National Day holiday, Luna at the front desk kindly upgraded our room for free. The larger space was much more comfortable, and they were quick to respond and help whenever we had a question. The hotel is also conveniently located near a subway station, making it easy to get around. **Hotel Highlights:** * **Staff:** Professional, efficient, and enthusiastic. * **Breakfast:** This deserves a special mention! It's truly 5-star quality, delicious, with a wide variety of Chinese and Western buffet options, far surpassing many other 5-star hotels. They kept replenishing the food right until breakfast ended, so you could sleep in until 9 AM and then leisurely enjoy your meal. Overall, this hotel is fantastic. My child didn't want to leave, and I'll definitely choose Gujing Smart Holiday Inn again next time I'm in Shanghai!

I had a very satisfying stay. The lobby atmosphere and environment were excellent, and the location was superb. It's only a 15-minute walk to The Bund and Nanjing Road, making it convenient for taxis and public transport. The room was simple, clean, and well-equipped with all facilities in good working order. You could see the 'three-piece set' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers of Shanghai) and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower from the window. The front desk service was attentive, and check-in was quick and easy, not taking much time at all. The room was very well-maintained and even had a mini-bar and complimentary snacks. Overall, I had a great experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai.
