Hotel near North Sichuan Road Commercial Area,Shanghai
Sofitel Shanghai North Bund is located in the heart of North Bund, next to the famous attractions of 1933 Old Field and Music Valley. Hotel offers beautifully appointed rooms with comfortable living areas, musical elements can be seen everywhere in the detailed design, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bustling city and river. Le Chanleur All-Day Dining on the 5th floor offers all-day dining. L'Orchestre Lounge bar on the first floor is the perfect place to relax with wine, views and afternoon tea. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Hailun subway station (Line 4 & 10). Walking distance to The Bund, about 10-minutes ride to the Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing Road(E) pedestrian street, the People Squared, Yu Garden, Xintiandi and many famous tourist attractions.

"I'd give the hotel service five stars. They were incredibly responsive and quick to assist with any request. Staff at the entrance always greeted me when I came and went, and both check-in and check-out were very fast. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed the large bathtub 🛁. The room amenities were quite comprehensive, though I'd deduct half a point for the cold flush on the smart toilet. It would also be great if there was an additional trash can in the room. According to professionals, the gym would be even better with the addition of a lat pulldown and rowing machine. Breakfast quality was just average. The hotel is surrounded by construction sites, so there's a lot of dust and sand blowing around right outside the main entrance. Thankfully, the hotel's soundproofing is quite good, so it was quiet at night and didn't disturb my sleep."

GGuest UserBack in Shanghai, after visiting Disney with my child, I experienced true five-star service from the moment the concierge opened the car door. Check-in at the front desk was quick and professional. I was especially thrilled to meet Jennie again at the front desk. Seeing that I had a child with me, she thoughtfully upgraded our room, provided kids' toiletries and a small bathrobe, and even set up a tent, which was a wonderful surprise and made my child very happy. Meeting Jennie actually made us feel like we were coming home, truly embodying the saying, 'You fall in love with a city because of one person.' This really rings true after staying at the Ritz. The hotel's location is superb, with lovely views, and a shopping mall right downstairs. The room was spotlessly clean, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring we had a great night's sleep. The facilities are, of course, top-notch – comfortable bedding and charming night views. But what truly made me remember this city was every smile and every perfectly timed act of care from the hotel staff. Looking forward to my next visit!

GGene CaiWe had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai New World. The experience exceeded our expectations in every way. The view from the hotel is truly unbeatable — especially overlooking the vibrant city skyline and People’s Square. The location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to shopping, dining, and major attractions, making it perfect for both leisure and business travelers. What made our stay especially memorable was the exceptional service. Duty Manager Justin was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. We had several special requests during our stay, and he handled each one with great care and consideration, making us feel genuinely valued and well taken care of. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai and would definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

GGuest UserStayed at Banyan Tree Shanghai recently and had a mixed experience overall. The highlight of the stay was definitely the view — absolutely stunning and one of the best parts of the hotel. The room also felt modern with thoughtful touches like the automated Toto toilet system, which added a nice luxury feel. However, there were a few areas that fell short of expectations for a 5-star property. The shower water pressure was quite weak, which made it less enjoyable. More noticeably, the air conditioning didn’t perform well — even when set to 20°C, the room temperature stayed around 22°C but felt closer to 25–26°C. It became uncomfortable enough that I had to request a fan. Service could also be improved. I had 5–6 parcels delivered to the hotel, and while they were collected, the staff did not offer any assistance to bring them up to the room, which felt lacking in customer attentiveness. Additionally, during check-out, there was no effort made to ask about my stay or gather feedback, which was surprising for a hotel of this standard. In terms of facilities, the breakfast spread was above average and definitely in line with what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel — a good variety and quality overall. However, the room itself showed some wear and tear, with visible cracks in the sink, suggesting that parts of the hotel may be due for renovation. Overall, Banyan Tree Shanghai has strong potential with its views and amenities, but improvements in maintenance, service, and guest engagement would make a big difference to the overall experience.

GGuest UserI met up with friends in Shanghai, and this hotel was perfectly located near the high-speed train station, just a few minutes' walk away. The environment was really peaceful, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. The front desk staff were particularly wonderful and provided excellent service. I arrived a bit early and needed to change clothes to meet my friends. Since my reserved room wasn't ready yet, they quickly gave me another room that was clean, allowing me to check in and get ready without delay. I really appreciate that the key card for the elevator only allows access to your floor; it made me feel very safe as a solo female traveler. If I come back to Shanghai, I'll definitely choose to stay here again. The photo is of the lobby on the first floor; the room picture is after I'd already stayed one night, just for your reference.

GGuest UserThe hotel is beautiful, situated right on the bund. The breakfast is good and the beds are comfortable. My family and I were travelling through China for 4 weeks, and I booked this place for 4 nights, we usually like to stay in places where we can do laundry, here we had to use an outsourced business to get our laundry done as there are no laundry facilities close by and it would have cost us $500 aud to get our laundry done through the hotel. Just something to be mindful of if you are travelling with a family. However in saying that, the process of outsourcing was only made possible because of the assistance given by the hotel. I’m glad we booked it, the experience overall was great.

GGuest UserDuring the May Day holiday, I took my granddaughter on a little getaway. Since all the tourist spots were packed, we decided to stay in Shanghai and find a hotel with a pool where we could just relax. After comparing several five-star hotels, I ultimately chose the Grand Hyatt Shanghai. I booked a family twin room with two queen-sized beds (1.5m each), and upon arrival, they upgraded me to a river view room. Stepping into the lobby on the 54th floor, the Lujiazui skyline immediately came into view. Our room, on a higher floor (70-80th floor), had floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the Huangpu River and the Bund's historic buildings – the night view was truly stunning, like a painting. The heated indoor pool on the 24th floor offers breathtaking views of the Pudong skyline while you swim, creating an amazing 'in the clouds' workout experience, though the water temperature was a bit on the cool side. The room itself was spacious with a grand layout, blending modern design with subtle Chinese details, giving it a premium feel. Breakfast on the 57th floor: The selection was extensive, allowing us to leisurely enjoy our meal until nearly noon. The high-altitude dining atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were quick, and the staff were friendly. The location is superb and incredibly convenient. Situated in the heart of Lujiazui, it's within walking distance of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and IFC Mall, and has direct underground access to the Shanghai Tower. It's also just a 10-minute drive to the Bund and Yu Garden, easily accessible by subway or taxi, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers.

SSkylar ChengThe service was abysmal, from the front desk to the duty manager, no one seemed genuinely interested in doing their job. I booked a high-floor room with a view, but what I got was a room directly facing another building (see image 1). Initially, they claimed there were no high-floor rooms available. After I complained, the duty manager suddenly 'found' one – 'the only one left,' but it was right next to the elevator and a bit noisy. I had no choice but to take it, only to find a broken mirror in the room, which cut my hand. A little while later, the duty manager miraculously 'found' another, better room for me. You can tell from this how dismissive and deceitful their attitude was. It's clear that from top to bottom, they're full of empty promises and lies – first no rooms, then suddenly rooms appear when there's an issue. They simply don't care about providing a good guest experience. I doubt you'll find worse service standards in Shanghai. On top of that, the hotel's decor is incredibly bizarre. The bathroom is a kaleidoscope of colors, and the bedroom even has colorful lights above the bed – it felt more like a motel. A local friend later hinted that I shouldn't have stayed at this hotel… I regret it immensely.

MMonono0204The Kunlun Hotel Jing An Shanghai boasts an excellent location with convenient transportation. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the service is warm and attentive. Although the decor leans towards a classic style, the facilities are well-maintained. It offers great value for money and is a reliable choice for business or leisure travelers in the Jing'an district.

JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined. First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience. Now, for the less satisfying aspects: 1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one. 2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them. 3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.
