Jiming Temple in Nanjing is a treasure trove that blends the ancient charm of a thousand-year-old temple with the romance of spring. As the first of the 480 temples of the Southern Dynasties, its yellow walls and black tiles exude a profound sense of history. The entrance fee is only ten yuan, including three sticks of incense, making it excellent value. In spring, the cherry blossom avenue in front of the temple is like a cloud of rosy clouds, with fallen petals carpeting the path – every snapshot is a masterpiece of atmosphere. Climbing the Medicine Buddha Pagoda offers a panoramic view of Xuanwu Lake. Inside the temple, the wafting incense and melodious chanting create a tranquil atmosphere. However, it gets very crowded during cherry blossom season, so it's recommended to visit during off-peak times.

The entrance fee to the 鸡鸣寺 is only 10 yuan. There are a lot of people and it's very beautiful. There are a lot of statues for us to worship and there's also a place to throw incense. I forgot what it's called. 😅 P.S. The actual place is very beautiful (the day we took the picture, the sky was very cloudy and rainy).

One of the must-see attractions in Nanjing ~ There are crowds of people. It's a pity that it's too late. The cherry blossoms in front of Jiming Temple must be more beautiful in March. Now there are only a few flowers.

Staying in a small fishing village by the sea is most enjoyable when listening to the waves at night. There are no city neon lights, only the crashing waves against the shore. Strolling through the village, the wind carries the salty moisture of the sea, and stalls selling freshly grilled seafood line the roadside. Buy some and savor it slowly, looking up at the starry sky. Sitting on the rocks, lost in thought, listening to the waves, all anxieties are washed away, and the heart calms down, moving at an unnatural pace.

The Presidential Palace in Nanjing is not only the center of political activities, but also a witness to many important historical events. [In the early Ming Dynasty, it was the Dehou Mansion and the Hanwang Mansion.] After the Qing army entered the pass, it was designated as the Jiangning Weaving Office, the Jiangnan Governor's Office, and the Liangjiang Governor's Office. Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty used this as their "temporary palace" when they visited the south of the Yangtze River. During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period, the Heavenly King's Palace (today's Royal Palace) was built here. On January 1, 1912, Sun Yat-sen was sworn in as the provisional president of the Republic of China and converted it into the Presidential Palace. On May 20, 1948, after Chiang Kai-shek and Li Zongren were elected president and vice president respectively at the Constitutional National Assembly, the name was changed to the Presidential Palace. 】

If you don't like traveling by tourist attractions, rent a bicycle and ride slowly along the road. The wind blows past your ears, and fields or forests recede on both sides. When you get tired, stop by the roadside to rest; when you see a beautiful view, stop to take pictures. There's no need to rush, no need to think about where to go next, just follow the wind. This aimless freedom is something you can never get from squeezing onto the subway or sitting in the office. Every meter the wheels roll is a moment of personal joy.

What I love most about traveling is aimlessly wandering around, without a checklist, without time constraints. When I get tired, I find a small teahouse by the street, order a cup of local tea, and watch the pedestrians stroll by. The cats in the shop curl up on the windowsill, basking in the sun. The wooden boardwalk stretches deep into the wetlands, where swathes of reeds float on the water, their white fluff swaying in the wind. Waterbirds flap their wings and fly out from the reeds, skimming the water and creating ripples. Looking through binoculars, flocks of migratory birds land on the mudflats, tilting their heads to preen their feathers, occasionally letting out a clear call. The wind, carrying cool, damp air, blows by, and all is quiet except for the sounds of birds and the wind. My heart slows down, filled with a relaxed joy.

The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing moved me far beyond what I expected. Climbing the 392 steps, I felt as if each one carried the weight of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s lifelong struggle for a better China. By the time I reached the sacrificial hall and looked out across Nanjing, the mix of solemn architecture, quiet mountain air, and the thought of his sacrifice stirred something deep inside me. Every time I return from a trip, I'm filled with a soft spot in my heart. I didn't buy many expensive souvenirs, just pretty stones I picked up by the roadside, extra candies given to me by vendors, a bunch of unedited photos on my phone, and a bellyful of heartwarming encounters. These small, beautiful moments will surface during those later days when I'm working overtime to the point of collapse. Thinking back to the wind I felt and the candies I ate, I can gather my strength again and keep going.

The boat cruise is stunning and the traditional 'painted' style of the vessels adds a lot of charm. The views of the bridges and riverside pavilions at night are 10/10. It can get very crowded and the lines are long, so I recommend booking via WeChat or going early. Despite the crowds at the dock, once you are on the water, it is peaceful and the photo opportunities are endless. A signature Nanjing experience.

It wasn't until my second night that I discovered Metro Line 1 is directly connected to the hotel – the elevator goes down to the basement level and connects directly to Exit 20 of Xinjiekou Station! In Nanjing, most major attractions are easily accessible by subway, so even a habitual latecomer like me doesn't have to worry about missing high-speed trains – isn't that perfect? I also have to commend their service; it's genuinely impeccable. Upon check-in, they proactively upgraded my room, and based on my Ctrip VIP status, I received a small gift and welcome fruits. My butler, Aurora, was incredibly prompt and attentive. A quick message on WeChat and she'd pretty much fulfill any request. On my second night, I arranged to dine with my friend at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, Meiyuan, and everything was handled perfectly. Even my local friend said Meiyuan (which holds both Black Pearl and Michelin accolades) is super hard to book, and she was surprised we got in thanks to me, the 'outsider'! On a side note, Meiyuan's salted duck is absolutely divine! The service there was excellent too; all the staff were friendly, polite, and well-trained. I must say, the service at Jinling Hotel truly lives up to its reputation. Even the doormen are incredibly observant. The only thing I can think of that could be improved is the air in the room. Without the air conditioning on, it was a bit stuffy when I first walked in. I hope the hotel can look into that. Overall, I was very satisfied. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time!

The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with both Chinese and Western options, from local specialty duck blood vermicelli soup to Western bread and coffee. Downstairs, there's a swimming pool and a gym. The pool has a shallow area suitable for kids. Overall, the value for money is excellent, and the service is great. Unfortunately, a higher-floor room was not available. I was also asked by the front desk to wait for more than an hour before a room became available, which was a little disappointing, especially considering that the room rate was not inexpensive. Regarding cleanliness, I have no complaints. The room was very clean and well-maintained. As for the service, there was a small issue on the first day. The complimentary fruit platter was not delivered. After I went out for a while and returned to the room, it still had not arrived, so I contacted my butler. She checked with the relevant team and found that it had simply been overlooked by the staff. However, they subsequently made up for it by sending me three fruit platters, which I appreciated. One area that I feel could be improved is the air conditioning. Personally, I found the room quite warm, even after turning on both air-conditioning units. When I asked about it, I was informed that some of the air vents were mainly decorative and were not actually functional. This was a little disappointing, as I expected the room to be cooler and more comfortable. Overall, I had a pleasant stay, especially because of the beautiful views and attentive service from my butler, Cora. I hope the hotel can continue improving the room allocation process and air-conditioning system to provide an even better experience for future guests.

While enjoying afternoon tea, we also took in the magnificent views of Xuanwu Lake. The evening happy hour at the Horizon Club was a treat for both the palate and the eyes. They offered delicious dishes like seasoned crayfish and a variety of other items. Paired with the lake view outside the window, it was a serene experience enjoying the food and scenery. For breakfast on the second day, we dined at the VIP Lounge on the 40th floor. It was a semi-buffet with made-to-order à la carte options, allowing us to leisurely enjoy our meal while admiring the views of Xuanwu Lake. We savored freshly prepared Eggs Benedict, exquisite Western hams, and hot Chinese specialties like xiao long bao, beef brisket noodles, and wontons. I particularly want to commend the staff at the Horizon Club lounge for their dedication and enthusiasm in providing excellent service to all guests, including helping us book lunch at Jiangnan Wok on the first floor. We look forward to staying at Shangri-La Hotel, Nanjing again on our next visit. Thank you!

First, the advantages: the villa area has a fantastic environment, lush and green, very comfortable. Even in summer, there weren't many mosquitoes (probably because mosquito coils were lit at the entrance). The shuttle bus was also quite punctual, and they delivered anything we needed promptly after a phone call. I especially want to mention that the children's toothbrushes provided were quite good, not the cheap, disposable kind, because we had a child with us. The staff, whether from the restaurant, the front desk, or the driver, were all very friendly. Then, there are a few things I was more concerned about and less satisfied with. One is the lack of laundry facilities; there was no laundry room (I called to inquire and found out there wasn't one), and the villa itself didn't have a washer or dryer, which was quite strange—it's the first time I've encountered a resort hotel without such facilities. Secondly, the small balcony seemed to have been neglected for a long time. Because there was nowhere else to hang clothes, I hung them on the balcony railing, and when I touched it, it was covered in rust and dust. I think when staying in a hotel, you should just throw away clothes you're not sure you'll wear, so these things are quite necessary.

First, the variety is comprehensive, with a balanced mix of Chinese and Western options, not just simple buns and porridge. The Chinese section offers local Nanjing specialties like duck blood vermicelli soup, soup dumplings (xiaolongbao), and red bean dumplings (chìdòu yuánxiāo). You don't need to wake up early and search for old establishments outside; you can taste local flavors right at the hotel. The hot dishes area has stir-fries, steamed dim sum, and various grains, with a full range of steamed buns, siomai, and zongzi, suitable for seniors and children. The front desk service was incredibly helpful, and they even have robot delivery for room service. I will definitely keep supporting them!

We chose the Golden Eagle Hotel because it's conveniently located near the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where we were taking our child. We arrived past 9 PM, and the lovely lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful. She patiently answered all of my child's silly questions and even upgraded our room. The communication between the front desk and housekeeping was also excellent; when I requested extra slippers and children's toiletries at check-in, everything was already in the room when we arrived. The hotel's location is fantastic, the room had an open view and was spacious, and we even got free parking at the Golden Eagle car park. For the price, the value for money is exceptional. We'll definitely choose this place again next time.

The air conditioning was great, really cooled the room down. Plus, the room had its own power-on card, and the front desk staff were very friendly. The sheets were also clean; at some hotels, you can see hair on the mattress through the sheets, but I checked here and there wasn't any 🙂↔️ The only downside was the shower area, which was a bit small and made it hard to turn around, but everything else was fine.

The hotel front desk service was very thoughtful. I had requested a quiet room, and when I arrived, the front desk kindly upgraded me for free to an executive king room on the 19th floor. I felt right at home, and I believe they would try their best to accommodate any requests. Although the hotel breakfast selection wasn't extensive, the food was delicious, especially the xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) and pan-fried dumplings. They tasted homemade, not frozen.
