The entrance fee to the 鸡鸣寺 is only 10 yuan. There are a lot of people and it's very beautiful. There are a lot of statues for us to worship and there's also a place to throw incense. I forgot what it's called. 😅 P.S. The actual place is very beautiful (the day we took the picture, the sky was very cloudy and rainy).

One of the must-see attractions in Nanjing ~ There are crowds of people. It's a pity that it's too late. The cherry blossoms in front of Jiming Temple must be more beautiful in March. Now there are only a few flowers.

Staying in a small fishing village by the sea is most enjoyable when listening to the waves at night. There are no city neon lights, only the crashing waves against the shore. Strolling through the village, the wind carries the salty moisture of the sea, and stalls selling freshly grilled seafood line the roadside. Buy some and savor it slowly, looking up at the starry sky. Sitting on the rocks, lost in thought, listening to the waves, all anxieties are washed away, and the heart calms down, moving at an unnatural pace.

The Presidential Palace in Nanjing is not only the center of political activities, but also a witness to many important historical events. [In the early Ming Dynasty, it was the Dehou Mansion and the Hanwang Mansion.] After the Qing army entered the pass, it was designated as the Jiangning Weaving Office, the Jiangnan Governor's Office, and the Liangjiang Governor's Office. Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty used this as their "temporary palace" when they visited the south of the Yangtze River. During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period, the Heavenly King's Palace (today's Royal Palace) was built here. On January 1, 1912, Sun Yat-sen was sworn in as the provisional president of the Republic of China and converted it into the Presidential Palace. On May 20, 1948, after Chiang Kai-shek and Li Zongren were elected president and vice president respectively at the Constitutional National Assembly, the name was changed to the Presidential Palace. 】

If you don't like traveling by tourist attractions, rent a bicycle and ride slowly along the road. The wind blows past your ears, and fields or forests recede on both sides. When you get tired, stop by the roadside to rest; when you see a beautiful view, stop to take pictures. There's no need to rush, no need to think about where to go next, just follow the wind. This aimless freedom is something you can never get from squeezing onto the subway or sitting in the office. Every meter the wheels roll is a moment of personal joy.

The wooden boardwalk stretches deep into the wetlands, where swathes of reeds float on the water, their white fluff swaying in the wind. Waterbirds flap their wings and fly out from the reeds, skimming the water and creating ripples. Looking through binoculars, flocks of migratory birds land on the mudflats, tilting their heads to preen their feathers, occasionally letting out a clear call. The wind, carrying cool, damp air, blows by, and all is quiet except for the sounds of birds and the wind. My heart slows down, filled with a relaxed joy.

Every time I return from a trip, I'm filled with a soft spot in my heart. I didn't buy many expensive souvenirs, just pretty stones I picked up by the roadside, extra candies given to me by vendors, a bunch of unedited photos on my phone, and a bellyful of heartwarming encounters. These small, beautiful moments will surface during those later days when I'm working overtime to the point of collapse. Thinking back to the wind I felt and the candies I ate, I can gather my strength again and keep going.

The boat cruise is stunning and the traditional 'painted' style of the vessels adds a lot of charm. The views of the bridges and riverside pavilions at night are 10/10. It can get very crowded and the lines are long, so I recommend booking via WeChat or going early. Despite the crowds at the dock, once you are on the water, it is peaceful and the photo opportunities are endless. A signature Nanjing experience.

The hardware was the most satisfying among the three hotels I stayed at in Nanjing. What I was dissatisfied with was the service (software): 1. Upon check-in, I was only given one key card (many hotels proactively provide an extra card for power, you know?). In this humid weather, it was very inconvenient to go in and out without air conditioning. In the evening, I wanted to go to the front desk to ask for an extra power card. The concierge directed me to the front desk, where one person was slowly processing a male guest's check-in, and another was on a long phone call. I stood there for a full five to ten minutes, and not once did I get an apologetic smile or a glance acknowledging my wait. I was shocked; is this really five-star hotel service? To continuously talk on the phone and leave a customer waiting without even looking at them? I finally couldn't take it anymore and asked for a power card, and it was still handed to me with a cold, swift gesture. I feel like even at a HUAZHU hotel, I wouldn't receive such treatment. 2. The next morning, when I was extending my stay, the front desk staff just brusquely handed my card back to me. I had to double-check my booking and ask her to confirm if it included breakfast. She then reluctantly replied that it did, and even emphasized that it was for tomorrow's breakfast? A 68-yuan breakfast isn't that rare, and for staff to highlight the dining time and location when checking in a guest with breakfast included is basic service, right? The service at Gulinandun was really disappointing. 3. Later, when I asked for two more bottles of water, the front desk just pointed their hand, telling me to go pick them up myself at the concierge desk??? The previous evening, a man claimed he needed to drink 4 liters of water, and the front desk greeted him with a smiling face. What exactly is going on here?? The service truly left me dumbfounded!

The hotel is located within a Jiangnan garden, far from the city's hustle and bustle. The environment is superb, with the sounds of insects and birds, and fresh air. The shuttle service into the scenic area was incredibly convenient. The room was spacious, with two 1.35m beds that we could push together, so we didn't have to worry about the child falling off. The separate wet and dry bathroom, the scenic floor-to-ceiling windows, and the balcony were particularly impressive. Watching the scenery from the room on a rainy day truly lived up to the name ”Misty Rain Room.” Whether it was borrowing items, booking the shuttle, or requesting a late check-out, our butler Xiao Xia handled everything quickly and properly. She was reliable in her work and genuinely kind to guests. We used the dinner included in the package; the vegetables were very fresh, suitable for both the elderly and children, and the fruit was exceptionally delicious. Breakfast offered a rich variety, and parking in the underground garage was convenient, making our travels stress-free. The children's playground was spacious, and the pool was very clean, making the little ones incredibly happy. The noodles from Hu Ji Noodle House, included in the package, were also delicious. The stir-fried shredded pork with green peppers, freshly made by the auntie, was so fragrant that my child and I ate every last bit. Our butler, Xiao Xia, provided meticulous care throughout our stay. Her service was delicate and warm, perfectly embodying a five-star service standard. This vacation was relaxed and pleasant, without any unpleasant incidents. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The next time we visit Guchengwan, we'll definitely look for Butler Xiao Xia again!

I might have been in a room at the very end, close to the elevator, because around 8 PM, there was a severe buzzing sound near the head of the bed that lasted for over two hours. It was maddening! Summary: For those who prioritize location, this hotel is definitely a great choice! As for the rest, I'll leave it at that.
