AaPill1n1bizaThe staff were friendly and attentive, and the butler was very responsive on WeChat. The hotel environment was excellent, the breakfast had a rich variety of dishes, and the hotel facilities were comprehensive; we used the wired internet, laundry room, etc. Upon check-in, we received a flower box and afternoon tea, and when we checked out, we were given handmade cookies. We're truly grateful for the thoughtful service these past few days!

From the moment we checked in, her warm welcome, patient explanations of hotel facilities, and local sightseeing tips, all delivered with a constant smile and meticulous care, truly dispelled our travel fatigue. Her professional yet friendly demeanor was truly exceptional.
Combined with the hotel's excellent central location, stylish room decor, and a rich, delicious breakfast, the outstanding service quality truly shone through. Emily's genuine service significantly enhanced our 'Spring City' trip and further brightened the reputation of Grand Hyatt Kunming. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Kunming, and a special thank you to Emily for her dedicated efforts!

GGuest UserHello everyone. We stayed at this hotel at the end of November 2024. Initially, we booked the hotel for 5 days, then we extended, extended and in the end, we stayed there for 11 nights. The hotel is new, clean. The rooms have good quality robes, toiletries. We were quite satisfied with the breakfasts. We were pleased with the availability of freshly squeezed juices. The main staff does not speak English, but this is not a problem, since the on-line translator saves us, and the staff tries very hard to understand what you want from them. The only person who speaks excellent English was the manager Sam. A man passionate about his work. He told us a lot about the hotel and what is nearby. And there is a lot there: a park with playgrounds, a bungee jump, and a birdhouse with parrots. Sam showed us a place next to the hotel, which is a set for films. Boat station, where you can take a boat and take a walk on the lake and go straight to the hotel grounds. The hotel itself is in a great location, in a lowland, on the shore of the lake. If you plan a trip to Kunming, then it is far from the city. But we needed a quiet and beautiful place. And we got it. With the window open in the evenings and mornings you can hear the fish splashing in the lake and the ducks quacking. It was great to sleep, as the mattress and pillows are of excellent quality. We will definitely come back here and will recommend it to our friends.
P.S. Once again, we say a huge thank you to Sam, he not only told and showed us a lot about the hotel and the surrounding area, he also helped us solve some issues with our luggage at the airport. A wonderful, responsive person. The hotel management is very lucky to have such a person on their team.

2201131****I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my parents, and it was fantastic. The location is superb; Cuihu Park is just a short walk away. While there isn't a dedicated parking lot, the valet service was actually more convenient than parking ourselves. The hotel isn't huge, but it has everything you could possibly need: a gym, laundry room, rooftop pool, and a large observation deck. They offer complimentary snacks in the morning, afternoon, and evening, which was such a thoughtful touch. The service was incredibly comprehensive; they even provided food to feed the red-billed gulls. What's more, after we checked out, they mailed us some of their homemade flower pastries, which were absolutely delicious. This well-managed, high-quality, and high-value hotel is definitely worth recommending and returning to multiple times.

GGuest UserWe only stayed 2 nights with 1 full day there. Location great. We had an easy 15min Didi from Kunming train station. Our full day there we walked to Green Park from the hostel (about 25mins) going via Wenlin Street, and then on to Old Street.
Staff very friendly and helpful, helped us book a restaurant on our first night. Good level of English spoken so could have a proper conversation without resorting to translation apps. We didn't make full use of the hostel facilities but all looked good.
Our room was as pictured and as expected. Breakfast was a choice of Western (toast, fried egg, fruit) or local (Pork Noodles). They were both OK, though the noodles were better.
The hostel is laid out in a courtyard type style with the barand billiards at the bottom so noose does tend to travel to the rooms. It was still rather noisy one evening at 11:30pm (quiet hours supposed to begin at 11pm) with groups chatting loudly, but I did WeChat the staff at reception who did respond very quickly to ask people to keep noise down. This was good service but if you are looking for the quietest night sleep this may not be the best choice for you.
Cleanliness was good, but the bin in our bathroom was not emptied as you are asked to put toilet tissue in there I think it is important to be emptied daily. We were supplied with disposable slippers in our room, but even though they are in a plastic bag, one pair was wet when opened. They could also do with a bath mat for outside the shower especially because some water escapes past the curtain when showering.
Overall it was a great stay, good location value and staff.

AAnonymous UserI originally planned to stay for just one day during my transit, but ended up staying for four! The location is great, and the guesthouse is quite spacious. It was lovely to watch the night view from the terrace in the evenings and sunbathe during the day. The weather in Yunnan is amazing; everywhere you look is beautiful. The place is clean, and since it was the off-season, it wasn't crowded, making for a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

PPangxiaozhuyaojianfeiTo be honest, the hotel's hardware is showing its age. Even the executive rooms don't have smart toilets, and the TV screen had a wavy pattern. However, the high floor offers a great view, soundproofing is good, water pressure is high, the toiletries are Lanvin (a French brand acquired by Fosun), the bath towels and hand towels are soft, and there's a good selection of pillows. Overall, the experience was quite positive. Jessica was always on hand to proactively address any potential operational issues.
I only visited the Executive Lounge in the evening, specifically during the happy hour from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. It was quiet, spacious, and had a great view. They offered bottled Carlsberg and Dali beer, white and red wine, coffee, tea bags, Coke, Sprite, soda water, ginger ale, and Perrier. I mainly went for a drink and unexpectedly ran into a foreigner who was on the same flight as me on Friday. Haha, what a coincidence! It was great to have company for drinks, chatting, and complaining.
Also, the young man at the omelet station on Monday morning provided excellent service. He deserves praise for his standard of service, whether it was guiding customers while they waited, providing accurate information, or making the omelet itself.
In short, there are definitely issues – nothing is perfect – so Sofitel Kunming is a good choice. That's why I chose to extend my stay for another night. Cleanliness, quietness, and comfort are what I value most.

GGuest UserWe are Americans from Hong Kong and traveled to Kunming for our Easter holiday. The positives of this hotel: 1. it was beautiful. The design and furnishings were very well done and the room itself was exceptionally clean. 2. The owners were so kind. We arrived way after the tea time hour, but they still provided our family with cappuccinos and fresh fruit, free of charge. Both were delicious and our children were so excited about the gourmet coffee art. 3. The mattress in the main bed area was very comfortable. Not a typical “hard” mattress like many hotels in China. Another bonus: it was actually a KING size, which we rarely see outside the US! 4. The breakfast was Chinese style and the rice noodles were delicious! The hotel also had a beautiful courtyard area to eat outside. A few items to be aware of: 1. although the hotel was in a neighborhood near the lake, the neighborhood itself was a bit strange. We could tell it was meant to be a beautiful, well-to-do neighborhood of modern villas, but more than half the neighborhood was unused and/or under construction so it wasn’t as lively feeling in the evening because it was so dark and desolate seeming. It was beautiful in the daylight though! 2. This is not a big hotel chain, just an independent boutique style hotel operating in one of these villas. 3. There are no optimal eating spots near the hotel. You have to take a 20-30 minute Didi (taxi) ride to the nearest area with a lot of restaurants. However, if you like street food, there is a street food carnival area about 10 minutes away via walking (walk north along boardwalk bordering the lake.)
Overall, because of the kindness of the owners, the cleanliness and modernity, delicious breakfast, and comfortable mattress, we would definitely choose this hotel again for a one-night stopover.

MM39831****This hostel has really nice common areas. The entire accommodation spans 6 floors, and each room uses a key card for access, plus the soundproofing is quite good. More than half of the guests are foreigners, which creates a great atmosphere for international interaction. The staff are exceptionally polite and provide detailed answers to every inquiry. Even the cleaning staff are very courteous when they see guests, and they keep everything spotless. They also offer complimentary postcards, bottled water, and bath towels.
