AAnonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

Location: The hotel is directly opposite Daguan Park and Yu Garden, so we could start exploring right after checking in on the first day! It's also a quick taxi ride to Cuihu Park/Jiaochang Middle Road, usually around 20 minutes. It's about 45 minutes from the airport and roughly 40 minutes from Dounan Flower Market.
Ambiance: Located by Dianchi Lake, it's very quiet overall. The room was incredibly clean, equipped with smart home devices, and ordering takeout was super convenient. We could order things like 'Zhen Tan Fried Chicken' or 'Shang Shan He Cha' (tea) and a robot would deliver them to our room. The hotel also offers sound bowl meditation classes in the evening, which I tried and found very therapeutic~
Service: The service was excellent. The staff at the front desk were all very kind and gentle. They even proactively helped us with our luggage when we took a taxi to the airport, which was incredibly helpful. Plus, breakfast runs until 10:30 AM and offers both Chinese and Western options. During my two-day stay, I tried the rolled noodles and rice noodles, both were delicious, and I especially loved the accompanying mushrooms.
Overall, a very satisfying trip! I'll definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in Kunming, haha!

AAnonymous UserOur butler, Bianca, was incredibly warm and attentive. She anticipated our needs and even gave a souvenir to my child. A huge bonus was not having to go downstairs to pick up food deliveries; the concierge brought them directly to our room! The hotel's central location is perfect, directly connected to the Plaza 66 mall. On days with bad weather, we could easily pop over to the mall for some shopping. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Kunming!

GGuest UserThe best thing about Cachet is the location, right in the middle of a very lively area with upscale bars and restaurants and cafes, quiet neighborhood of tree-lined streets with old school walk-up apartments. The hotel rooms and facilities aren't the newest and while the design isn't exactly up to date it's quite unique. Cool artwork in the lobby. Rooms are huge. I had a 4th floor room with great views. Started my day with the tea set; there's also a pod-type coffee machine. On the top floor there's a laundry room gym and billiards. A bit old though so that area could use a refresh. The restaurant operates as a German-style brewpub open to the public except during breakfast. So they have German sausage which was very good. (We had to ask for yellow mustard, which they should have out instead of ketchup!) The breads weren't fresh though. Was really impressed with the quality of the broth in the noodle bar. Front desk service was really nice & helpful. They did a good job keeping our Taobao packages for us so they were ready when we arrived.

GGuest UserI had a very pleasant stay at Four Points by Sheraton Kunming City Center. The hotel is conveniently located in the city centre, with easy access to the train station, nearby parks, Kunming Old Street, and major shopping malls.
The service throughout my stay was excellent. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful. The buffet breakfast was generous, fresh, and varied, with a good selection of food to suit different tastes.
The hotel facilities were also impressive. The laundry room and fitness centre were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The room was clean and modern, and the housekeeping and room service were very attentive. Whenever assistance was needed, the staff responded promptly and efficiently.
Overall, this is a clean, comfortable, and well-managed hotel with a convenient location and excellent service. I would be happy to stay here again and would recommend it to both business and leisure travellers.

LLijuan ♪(^∇^*) This is my third visit this year, and I absolutely love this hotel, even though it's only 30 kilometers from my home. My favorite part is the large balcony, which offers a delightful view of the lake and lush green mountains, with high skies and drifting clouds – it's incredibly peaceful. The evenings are very quiet. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the breakfast at the restaurant is fantastic.

The information published by the hotel on online platforms like Trip.com was accurate, and there were no unpleasant surprises. The hotel grounds are quite extensive, with a large, self-built tropical garden featuring lush greenery, ponds with waterfalls, and quaint bridges over streams, accompanied by the occasional bird song. Sitting under a pavilion there was truly delightful. This time, the hotel upgraded me to a lake-view room on the 6th floor of Building 7, where I could overlook Dianchi Lake from the balcony. The guest room was spacious and the amenities were up to standard. The service maintained the high InterContinental standard, with a warm reception at the front desk and proactive assistance with luggage from the concierge.
Just a small suggestion: it would be perfect if there were clear stickers on the sides of the transparent glass shower and toilet stalls to prevent guests from accidentally bumping their heads.

We booked a twin room, and it was a bit small; there was barely any space apart from the two beds, nowhere to put our two suitcases. However, it's worth mentioning that the hotel's service was excellent, and they gave us a souvenir when we checked in and checked out. The restaurant on the 19th floor has a fantastic view, overlooking the entire city of Kunming. There's also a pool and bar on the top floor, which is a major highlight of this hotel.

GGuest UserTraveling solo in Kunming, my stay at Old Big Foot International Youth Hostel completely exceeded my expectations – it's truly an ideal haven for backpackers!
The location is absolutely unbeatable. Just a few steps out the door is Zhuanxin market, where I could get everything from tofu rice noodles and Dai-style snacks to fresh fruit in one go. It's also not far from the subway station, making it super easy to get to all the major attractions around the city. The hostel itself has a courtyard bursting with bougainvillea, and you'll find traveler messages and map check-in walls everywhere. The downstairs bar is perfect for sunbathing during the day, and for listening to music and chatting at night, sometimes with guests playing guitar – it's such a gentle and therapeutic atmosphere.
The accommodation details are incredibly thoughtful. Every bed has a full blackout curtain, creating a private little space when drawn. The bedding was clean and odorless, there was 24-hour hot water, and the cleaning staff tidied regularly, so the bathrooms were completely free of any smells. They provide lockable lockers and self-service washer and dryer machines, so no worries about valuables or laundry. The front desk staff were incredibly patient, offering detailed recommendations for local tours and free luggage storage. Their 24-hour presence made me, as a solo female traveler, feel completely safe.
It's really easy to meet like-minded travel companions here. There are plenty of activities like billiards, movie nights, and city walks, so you never have to worry about feeling lonely. The prices are affordable, the facilities are comprehensive, and the atmosphere is warm. It's perfect whether you're staying for a short visit or just passing through. YYATTONGI stayed at Tuofeng for two separate trips, totaling 8 nights, and it truly felt like a home away from home in Kunming. The room was clean, comfortable, and very spacious – never felt cramped at all. The guesthouse's common areas are wonderfully expansive; I loved relaxing on the sofa during the day and enjoying the breeze on the rooftop at night. It completely lacked the formal feeling of a hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic. Right downstairs are Nanping Walking Street and Kunming Old Street, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The subway station is just a short walk away, which made getting to the airport and high-speed rail station a breeze. A special thanks to the front desk staff – they lent me an umbrella when it rained, helped me call taxis, and gave me directions with so much patience. As a solo traveler, their kindness made me feel incredibly safe and secure. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kunming! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
