AAnonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

JJiayiJaneI'm on my way to Mile right now, taking a break to write this review! This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to give a hotel a positive review, mainly because Ms. Bianca's service was absolutely amazing! The day before we arrived, she proactively contacted us to ask about our needs. When she learned we were traveling with a baby, and since the hotel couldn't provide a bed rail, she upgraded our room and arranged for two beds to be pushed together. Every evening before we returned to the hotel, there was turn-down service, with water replenished, and the room was cleaned twice a day, so it was always spotless and tidy when we got back – it truly made us feel great! For deliveries and takeout, after contacting the hotel, the concierge would bring them directly to our room; the service was incredibly attentive! They never seemed bothered and always greeted us with a smile. We rented an electric car after landing in Kunming, and there are charging stations in the underground parking at Spring City 66, very close to the hotel! The freshly baked flower pastries at breakfast were absolutely divine! Better than any I've bought elsewhere!!! The latte art in the coffee was so therapeutic! I travel frequently for business and leisure, and I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but I've only seen latte art at breakfast once before, at a hotel in Singapore! They also had freshly made Eggs Benedict! Our child loved the colorful glutinous rice – the chicken noodle soup was just so-so. When our child vomited in the middle of the night, we contacted room service, and they changed the sheets and duvet covers very quickly! At 3 AM, we took our child to the nearby Kunming Children's Hospital, where he was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis and put on an IV drip. I contacted Bianca to ask if we could have a late checkout. The front desk had initially said 2 PM, but Bianca, considering our little one hadn't slept all night, proactively offered to extend it to 4 PM! This gave us ample time to rest and pack. Being in a different city with a sick child and experiencing such thoughtful service truly made us feel grateful! We will definitely stay at the Grand Hyatt again next time we're in Kunming! Thanks again to Ms. Bianca! 🌹

AArcturianLocation: Situated within the Sunac Houhai scenic area, it's very close to Qikong Bridge and offers a lovely green 'grass sea' walking path, which is very convenient. It's about four kilometers from Daguan Park. This location keeps you away from the tacky and overpriced old streets. Nearby, there's a delicious Yunnan Daoguo Bridge Rice Noodles restaurant where the sour fruit and red soup noodles are excellent. There's also a great handmade bakery with fantastic cakes and some coffee shops with really creative flavors. The night view is also beautiful, with many lanterns. Service: The front desk staff were absolutely amazing, a big thumbs up! The tea cakes served with afternoon tea were also very tasty. Breakfast: Made fresh for each table. I stayed for two nights and there were different menu options to choose from. On the second day, my room was upgraded to an English-style river view king room, and the view was fantastic.

LLijuan  ♪(^∇^*) This is my third visit this year, and I absolutely love this hotel, even though it's only 30 kilometers from my home. My favorite part is the large balcony, which offers a delightful view of the lake and lush green mountains, with high skies and drifting clouds – it's incredibly peaceful. The evenings are very quiet. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, and the breakfast at the restaurant is fantastic.

GGuest UserThis was my second time staying at this hotel, and it was just as great as my first visit. On both occasions, the staff kindly upgraded our room due to availability, which was a really pleasant surprise. We ended up with larger rooms that were even more comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. The room was clean and very comfortable, making the overall stay very relaxing. I also appreciated that the room looked almost exactly like the photos shown on the Trip.com website—no unpleasant surprises at all. What stood out the most was the staff. They were consistently friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the experience even better. Would definitely return again!

LLisahaveThis is the worst InterContinental I've ever stayed at. I wasn't going to leave a review, but then I saw the hotel sent a message asking for a 4.5-star rating. In good conscience, I have to provide honest feedback so others have a truthful reference when choosing a hotel. First, the hardware: The room had a musty smell and was very old. Even the sofa wasn't very clean. It felt like staying in a hotel for an old-fashioned government meeting. Second, even if the hardware is old, good service can often compensate for the shortcomings. After all, a certain level of cultural refinement is one reason to choose InterContinental. However, this stay was a huge disappointment. First, the greeter at the hotel was just for show. A young man came over when we got out of the car in the lobby, but he didn't even help with the luggage. What was he there for? Just to make an appearance? Someone else eventually helped with the bags after check-in. Third, room assignment: They didn't even ask about guest preferences, but that's fine. Just look at the photos; would you still choose an InterContinental after seeing the room's visual appeal? Fourth, I chose InterContinental after arriving by high-speed rail at midnight and was checking out early the next morning. For over 1200, wasn't I paying for quality? Otherwise, wouldn't a budget hotel be just as good? I truly regret choosing InterContinental, which was further from the high-speed rail station, over a more convenient hotel in the old town area. Fifth, the restaurant: Honestly, the breakfast selection was quite good. The problem was the complete lack of service. It was chaotic with many people, and they were clearing tables right next to us while we were still eating, with no clear分区. It was speechless. This is definitely not the quality of a five-star hotel. Sixth, the hotel's large size is both a pro and a con. Getting to the restaurant required taking two different elevators. It's suitable for relaxed families on vacation but not ideal for business travelers or those on short trips.

DDuyiyaCheck-in was smooth and hassle-free, making for a great experience. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, with a fresh, natural scent in the air. The staff were professional and kind, always ready to help with any request. The facilities were well-suited to everyday needs, the hardware quality was reliable, the bedding was comfortable, the environment was quiet, and the location was convenient for getting around. It was a truly impeccable stay.

GGuest UserNestled in a peaceful courtyard, yet close to the action. The hostel boasts a fantastic location right by Zhuan'e Park, and it's super close to the famous Zhuanxin Farmers' Market. In the mornings, you can head to the market to soak in the most authentic Kunming local life, and in the evenings, a 20-minute stroll will take you to Cuihu Park to catch the sunset. The hostel itself is a charming earth-toned building, with a courtyard that's always bursting with seasonal flowers, and a stunning bougainvillea tree. The bar on the first floor and the ping-pong and billiard tables in the courtyard are the social hubs, where you'll meet backpackers from all corners of the globe every day – the atmosphere is absolutely incredible!

GGuest UserThe environment is quite good, and the hygiene is also excellent. The common areas are spacious and pleasant. My only suggestion would be to separate the male and female public bathrooms; that would definitely improve the experience. Downstairs, there are plenty of places to eat and shop, everything you could possibly need. Plus, there's a large mall right across the street and the night market is very close by.

GGuest UserThis hotel is right above Nanqiang Night Market, making it super convenient for food and drinks. It's on the fourth floor, and to get there, you take the elevator past a lounge bar, which is a nice spot for a drink in the evening. The best part is, the hotel entrance is past the bar, so it's not noisy at all. The room was incredibly spacious, easily big enough to throw a party in! I'm quite sensitive to dust mites, but the bedding here was really clean. Even though the room faced the street, it was completely quiet once the windows were closed. Overall, it was fantastic! I'll definitely recommend it to friends for their next stay.
