AAnonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

GGuest UserThis hotel is located within a scenic area. Although parking isn't super convenient, there's a shuttle service available. The hotel's design and service are truly impressive. Upon arrival, we were greeted with fresh flower cakes, tea, and hot towels, and even got to choose our shower gel scent. The lobby has a great design and a lovely aroma. Every staff member was incredibly nice and enthusiastic without being intrusive. They even offer laundry service, delivered right to your door. The room decor has an English style; while some facilities are a bit dated, they are very well-maintained, clean, and hygienic, showing the hotel's dedication to its guests. Being inside the Sunac Resort, it's incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and taking kids out, though the trade-off is it can be a bit noisy. Oh, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful, perfect for families with children. This is a very honest review, truly a well-managed guesthouse worth recommending.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's design is truly unique and thoughtful, and the service was proactively attentive and thorough. They even provided a complimentary extra bed for our party of three. The room layout was very practical, with the walk-in closet seamlessly connecting to the bathroom. I especially loved the Kohler brushed faucets – definitely adding them to my wishlist! The hotel is directly connected to Plaza 66, which was incredibly convenient for picking up anything we forgot. Next door is the Stone House in Camellia Park, perfect for an afternoon unwind. And right across the street is the Kunming Flying Tigers Memorial Museum (a poignant reminder that not all things last forever…).

LLijuan ♪(^∇^*) This was my second stay, and the hotel is fantastic. The overall service is great. I really like the Wild View room type; the design is excellent, with everything you could possibly need. The cleanliness is also top-notch. The hotel is right by the lake, offering fantastic views. The forest by the lake is like a huge natural oxygen bar, and there's also a large lawn. The hotel restaurant is superb; breakfast is very rich and delicious, and the regular meals are good too. It's also a great choice for families, with craft activities for kids. My only regret is that I haven't had a chance to experience the spa on either visit, but I'll definitely try it next time.

On both occasions, the staff kindly upgraded our room due to availability, which was a really pleasant surprise. We ended up with larger rooms that were even more comfortable and enjoyable to stay in.
The room was clean and very comfortable, making the overall stay very relaxing. I also appreciated that the room looked almost exactly like the photos shown on the Trip.com website—no unpleasant surprises at all.
What stood out the most was the staff. They were consistently friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the experience even better. Would definitely return again!

QQuanshuidingdingdongI wanted to stay two nights in a row, so I booked a voucher through Trip.com for May 13th. On May 14th, the website showed the date as unavailable. I asked Trip.com customer service to contact the hotel, and they said the hotel staff had left for the day and would respond the next morning. The next day, I received a message early in the morning saying it wasn't possible. Trip.com customer service didn't even get back to me. So, we immediately contacted the reservations department at InterContinental Kunming ourselves. The staff member was incredibly patient and checked the hotel's backend data, telling us that while king rooms weren't available, twin rooms could be booked. I'm so grateful! Choosing InterContinental Kunming for this trip was such great value for money, and the front desk even upgraded us to a balcony room. The hotel environment is elegant, and it's convenient to get to Haigeng Dam, though the hotel itself is quite large. All the hotel staff, from the concierge to the cleaning aunties, were warm and attentive in their service. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel, and the food was absolutely delicious!

GGuest UserThe location is excellent, very close to Kunming Station, the pedestrian street, and Cuihu Park. The room is also spacious enough. The only downside is the excessive smoking in public areas; it's pervasive. For someone trying to work in a quiet spot, I had to move three times. There's a corner in the restaurant that I suspect is directly opposite the second-floor restroom. Every time someone flushes upstairs, it's incredibly loud, like dirty water is being splashed directly on you. Also, the Wi-Fi is too slow.

RRuguowoshiliuyifeijiuhaoleSince I was traveling solo, I booked a hostel, and this was hands down the best one I've stayed in. My experience, from start to finish, was top-notch. I'll cover the pros first, then the cons, which aren't deal-breakers.
**Facilities:** The common areas are well-equipped. Apart from the washbasins, everything else is separated by gender, and there are even ladies-only shower rooms. Outside, there's a terrace where you can enjoy coffee in the daytime, tea and sun in the afternoon, and in the evening, it turns into a chill spot where you can listen to people chat and take in the night view (Jinmafang is right downstairs). There were also some handsome foreign guys! Indoors, there's a pool table, and some evenings, guests even dance, creating a great atmosphere. I had a wonderful chat with a curly-haired lady! There's also a co-working space and books to read. My stay was too short this time, but I'd love to come back and experience the slow life here sometime.
**Cleanliness:** The cleaning auntie kept everything spotless. When I had an issue, she came to help me right away. Her Yunnan dialect was a bit hard to understand, but I could tell she was very enthusiastic. She'd come to clean the rooms around 11 AM daily, and the common areas were also impeccably clean.
**Service:** One of the staff members was particularly warm and friendly.
**Cons:** The pillow was too high and uncomfortable for sleeping. The door is very heavy, and many new guests don't realize they need to pull it shut gently, causing it to slam loudly, which can be disruptive at night. Also, some people forget to close the main door at night, allowing the sound from the 98 bar to drift in. I suggest putting up a sign reminding guests to close the door quietly after a certain hour at night.

GGuest UserThis hotel is right above Nanqiang Night Market, making it super convenient for food and drinks. It's on the fourth floor, and to get there, you take the elevator past a lounge bar, which is a nice spot for a drink in the evening. The best part is, the hotel entrance is past the bar, so it's not noisy at all. The room was incredibly spacious, easily big enough to throw a party in! I'm quite sensitive to dust mites, but the bedding here was really clean. Even though the room faced the street, it was completely quiet once the windows were closed. Overall, it was fantastic! I'll definitely recommend it to friends for their next stay.
