GGuest UserOverall, everything from the location and facilities to cleanliness, ambiance, and service was excellent. Regarding some negative online reviews and the issues they raised, I'd like to share my actual experience. First, the room is divided into three areas by two steps: the entrance/bathroom area, the tatami bed area, and the desk/washbasin area. This is actually a fun and interesting design. However, because of the two steps, it might not be suitable for people with mobility issues, especially the elderly. So, if you're traveling with seniors, be mindful when choosing a room. Another point is the blinds, which are made of a linen-like material. They match the room's decor perfectly, creating a cozy feel, which is nice. But they don't block out much light. All in all, considering the price, location (in the central Xishan District, also quite close to Wuhua District), and facilities, I think it offers great value for money.

WWobushiqianfengFacilities: I really love the hotel's subtle Nanyang-style charm, especially the super-large balcony with a rocking chair. In the evening, the whole family can sit on the balcony, listen to the breeze, chat, and soak in Kunming's slow pace.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness is impeccable. I have a slight obsession with cleanliness, especially sensitive to any odors in bedding. But even a Virgo with a clean freak personality wouldn't find a single flaw here. This deserves high praise! 👍🏻
Environment: The hotel is located within a tourist area, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Although it faces the street, it's not noisy. Dining and leisure options nearby are very convenient. For ease of travel, the hotel even arranges a private car transfer service to and from the drop-off/pick-up points, which is so thoughtful! ❤️ Additionally, for hiking enthusiasts, the nearby Dianchi Caohai and Dongfeng Dam are fantastic places to visit, with breathtaking scenery.
Service: 💯. From arrival to departure, the butler provided meticulous care almost throughout our stay. Upon arrival, we were immediately offered hot towels and fresh flower cakes, and our room had welcome fruit. For breakfast the next day, we could customize our order before 8 PM the previous evening, with a rich variety of delicious and healthy options!
Overall Impression: A very satisfying stay, especially enjoyed by the children. Fantastic!

The hotel is clearly managed with great thought and care, allowing guests to enjoy a true vacation without even leaving the premises. The facilities are exquisite, featuring Hansgrohe faucets and Duravit sanitary ware and toilets. The shower drains perfectly and has excellent water pressure. The toiletries are good quality, even the disposable toothbrushes are carefully selected, and they thoughtfully provide facial towels and laundry detergent. The towels are thick and don't shed. The room is clean and odor-free. The bedding feels luxurious and the pillows are comfortable. The lighting design and smart zoning are incredibly well-planned. The fresh flowers upon check-in were a lovely touch, as was the complimentary travel photoshoot. The food is delicious! Every breakfast item was tasty, and the late-night snacks were impressive – even the grilled skewers were good. The afternoon tea was also very refined. The hotel's terrace offers a beautiful blue hour ambiance and a spacious, airy feel.
The staff are genuinely sincere, professional, and incredibly nice in their attitude and greetings. Their service truly makes you want to praise them, write a detailed review, and motivates you to return for another stay! I wish the brand continued success.

RR.TeoLocation is a big plus here — right next to the convention center, a shopping mall with tons of dining and shopping options, and DiDaDi outdoor theme park is literally just outside the hotel. The kids loved it and kept themselves busy the whole time.
Rooms were great and the outdoor bathtub was a nice bonus. We had a minor hiccup with the AC going out overnight, but the manager was super responsive and got us moved to a new room without any hassle since the technician wasn’t around over the weekend. Really appreciated that.
Free breakfast and supper are both included, and honestly both were really good — plenty of variety and everything tasted great.
Oh, and don’t sleep on the hotel’s rooftop photo shoot. The views up there are stunning and it’s a proper must-do during your stay.
All in all, a really enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

ZZiqiThe hotel upgraded our room type, which was very comfortable overall. Located on a high floor in Kunming city center, the hotel offers excellent views. It also has direct access to Hang Lung Plaza, making shopping very convenient. The only thing I would mention is that the front desk didn't inform us about the complimentary shopping mall vouchers during check-in. I only found out later through the platform and had to go back to inquire and collect them. Other facilities are beautiful and well-curated.
The room was cleaned thoroughly, and they provided plenty of bottled water, which I really appreciated. The turndown service was also good. My suggestions for improvement would be that the conditioner was not moisturizing enough, and the eye mask was a bit tight on the ears.
The breakfast selection was rich and everything tasted delicious. The only thing I need to point out is that on the first day, the female attendant who led us to our table seemed visibly annoyed because we took a few minutes to choose our seats instead of sitting down immediately. She also didn't offer us any drinks. I only realized later that we could order tea or coffee when I saw another staff member taking orders from newly arrived guests. When I asked her about it, she was clearly unhappy and just said, 'Order now.' This really put a damper on the experience. The male staff member we encountered on the second day, however, was excellent with great service and attitude. Therefore, the hotel should definitely strengthen its training to improve the overall quality of service and ensure consistency.

The garden is like a huge energy field; a walk through it every evening recharges you. A big thank you to the lovely front desk lady who arranged a beautiful room with a direct view of the garden – it was so refreshing to open the window each day.
The swimming pool is also fantastic! It's deep and spacious, with excellent water quality, making for a truly enjoyable swim.
The room was cleaned promptly, and the housekeepers thoughtfully left four bottles of water, all neatly arranged!
I was able to add the butler on WeChat, and during my five-night stay, I received fruit for three days, and two cans of coffee as a farewell gift!
Our room rate included breakfast and dinner, and for all five nights, the food at the restaurant was consistently excellent! The Yunnan local dishes, in particular, were so delicious they almost brought tears to my eyes! The rice noodles were incredible, with four different types of toppings! I had rice noodles for both breakfast and dinner! The fruit selection was also abundant, with seven or eight varieties. I especially loved their freshly squeezed juices, particularly the cucumber juice. And they have an Indian chef whose flying bread and curry are simply divine!
The location is superb! A short walk through Haigeng Hall leads you directly to Haigeng Dam, making it incredibly convenient to see the seagulls! Xishan and Haihong Wetland are also not far, perfect for a leisurely stroll.
I hope to stay at InterContinental Hotel again on my next visit to Dianchi Lake. The quality and service far exceeded my expectations!

GGuest UserBefore coming to Kunming, I compared many hotels and had initially booked another one, but I changed it to this hotel at the last minute the day before check-in. On the day of arrival, my flight landed early, so I reached the hotel around 10:00 AM. The front desk was very considerate and helped us check into a room that had been cleaned early! It's also super convenient for exploring nearby attractions; Cuihu Lake, Wenlin Street, Huangongdong Street, and Yunnan University are all within walking distance. Plus, downstairs there are restaurants, snack bars, coffee shops, fruit stores, and even hair salons – it couldn't be more convenient! As for the hotel facilities and service, on the first day, the front desk lady gave us some delicious fresh flower cakes. The hotel room was clean, breakfast was good, and there was even a late-night snack service. The restaurant on the 19th floor has great views, and on the 20th floor, there's a swimming pool terrace with a fantastic view. If it hadn't been a bit cold at night, I definitely would have gone for a swim. When we left on the third day, they even gave us a souvenir – the service was truly excellent! Oh, and I was initially worried about the soundproofing, but after 10 PM, most of the shops downstairs close and traffic lessens, so it was very quiet at night for sleeping! So I'm more than happy to give a good review, and I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit!

This time, the male staff member at the front desk provided excellent service – he was enthusiastic, attentive, and very patient. He proactively helped me switch to a more suitable room, considering my needs, and made the check-in process efficient and thoughtful, which made me feel incredibly welcome. The hotel is clean and tidy, and the overall service and environment are impeccable. It offers great value for money, and I had a very comfortable stay. Also, I discovered the coffee at the entrance is quite good.

AAburgabroadWe love this hotel, despite some shortcomings. The location and facilities are beautiful and the food is teallly good. The restaurant service for some reason is dramatically chaotic, but we’ve gotten used to it. We had some inconsiderate guests in the room next to us who brought an entire barbecue set onto their balcony, stinking up our balcony and room. Sam was quick to move us to another room and was very apologetic. Hé is a true saving grace in this hotel. The recreation staff has also been very helpful and we had a lovely kayaking experience.

The biggest surprise was the amazing atmosphere in the common areas, with a terrace, bar, and restaurant – perfect for chatting with travelers from all over the world in the evening. The staff were super friendly and patiently helped resolve any issues. It's highly recommended for backpackers, solo travelers, and small study groups. Great value for money, I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Kunming!
