GGuest UserThis hotel is a hidden gem that offers a tranquil escape amidst a bustling area. It's a hotel that leans towards the 'affordable luxury' category, where you can even enjoy breakfast until 1 PM. Although the staff may not be overly chatty, their service-first attitude shines through. It was my first time staying here, and while the entrance isn't particularly grand and the lobby isn't huge, the overall feeling of comfort is immediate. Every corner reveals a new, pleasant detail – 'a step, a new view' is no exaggeration. The bedding is just right, neither too soft nor too firm, and the latex pillow was thoughtfully prepared by the butler in advance. They even provide face towels and makeup remover, which is a lovely touch. I've explored many five-star and above hotels, and I honestly think this is the highest praise I can give to a luxury boutique hotel. The surrounding area is well-developed with family-friendly playgrounds and shopping malls. I highly recommend it; I will definitely choose Papuman again on my next visit.

The day before check-in, Suzanna proactively reached out via WeChat. After learning about our itinerary, she thoughtfully noted down our preferences.
During our stay, Suzanna's service perfectly embodied what true 'Grand Hyatt hospitality' means. She didn't just do her job; she genuinely paid attention. She remembered our casual remarks about our likes, diligently checked in with us daily about our experience, and responded incredibly fast. Whether we had extra requests or not, she was always there to help immediately. When we asked for tips on exploring Kunming, she not only provided detailed answers but also kindly reminded us about events at the nearby Delong Plaza. Her care felt as natural as a family member's.
While the hotel's hardware is its skeleton, service is its soul. Suzanna's professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness made our Kunming trip full of wonderful memories.

Kkitty2001_79This is by far the best place I've stayed at during my business travels! The hotel is located within the Sunac Resort. I contacted them in advance and added them on WeChat, and an electric shuttle picked me up right at the entrance! Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted with fresh flower cakes and hot Pu-erh tea! They even let me choose my preferred toiletries, which was incredibly thoughtful!
In the afternoon, they brought me a fruit salad! In the evening, they asked about my breakfast preferences for the next day, and the breakfast was so lavish it took me by surprise 😂 They even proactively told me about nearby spots to watch the sunset! Today, upon check-out, they gave me two more flower cakes as a gift! I can only say that the hotel's beauty is the least remarkable part of its exceptional, personalized service!

AAutumnLeafI stayed at Cachet Boutique Hotel Kunming on 25–26 October and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located a little away from the main pedestrian street, but the area around it has plenty of lively bars and cafés that attract a younger crowd — great if you enjoy a vibrant atmosphere.
The hotel itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed. I was really impressed by the stylish decor, quality amenities, and the spacious room layout. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Checking in/out was fast and hassle free.
As an additional benefit, the hotel is located 10 minutes from the train station.
Overall, it’s excellent value for money — I’d definitely recommend Cachet Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Kunming who’s looking for comfort, style, and a touch of local charm.

MMarc1The hotel is beautifully located by a serene, quiet lake, making it an excellent choice for a relaxing stay. It is particularly popular among families with children, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The breakfast is fantastic, especially if you go early in the morning when the food is freshly prepared. However, later in the day, the selection may not be as fresh.
While the staff does not speak English, navigating your stay is still manageable with some basic Chinese and the help of Google Translate—just as it is in many parts of China.
I highly recommend booking a room with a spa on the balcony. These rooms are located on the second floor, offering greater privacy and more outdoor space. The spa feature itself can be a bit tricky to use—you need to ensure the water level is just right, as too much or too little will prevent it from working properly.
Overall, the hotel is very clean, and the staff is accommodating and responsive to any requests. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent amenities, this is a great choice.

AApple96I brought my family to stay at Sofitel Kunming for Chinese New Year, and we booked several rooms – the experience was fantastic! The hotel had a wonderful festive atmosphere for the New Year, and the service was attentive and thorough. Check-in was efficient and quick, and our rooms were clean, spacious, and had great views, with comfortable bedding. My whole family was very happy. The location is excellent, making it convenient for getting around, as it's close to both the subway station and Kunming Old Street. The attention to detail and warm service were outstanding, making it perfect for a family trip. We felt safe and comfortable during our Chinese New Year stay. Highly recommended!

HHuoenxinqijiFirst, let me start with a compliment! The service attitude was exceptionally good! Whether it was asking the customer service小姐姐 for two extra quilts because I'm sensitive to cold, or asking the kitchen姐姐 for a plate to wash some fruit, everyone was incredibly willing to help! No one showed any impatience whatsoever. Everyone was genuinely wonderful, like a big, happy family!
Now for the downsides: The secondhand smoke issue is really serious! From the moment you walk in, there are smokers everywhere, and there are ashtrays outside the rooms on the second floor, with people smoking there every day. Of course, I had seen reviews mentioning this before checking in, so I was mentally prepared. Also, the water heater was still quite unstable, alternating between scalding hot and freezing cold. I was practically doing a tango in the shower!
Overall, it's great value for money, and I even found a companion. I would still recommend staying at 'Dajiaoshi' if you're traveling alone!

AAdrianCartaA good first stop in Kunming. Its location is fantastic in the Jinbi Square. A central hub of local attractions.
The hostel is clean and respectful. The showers have very good pressure and hot water. Toilets are a little old and might take a few flushes. There is an inside bar that is somewhat noisy during the evening/night hours, if you are looking to be social with other guests. This is a good spot for it as it also has a snooker table. The interior is decorated quite nicely. It features a client fridge to store food/drinks and a self-serve laundry with a washer/dryer/hanging rack. As this hostel has an optimum bar & social area, expect your dorm-mates to enter the dorm noisily and somewhat drunk. The outdoor roof terrace has plenty of seat and is quite scenic to Jinbi Square in the evenings. They offer a menu and food service (can be somewhat pricey, but hostels/hotels offer drinks/food at a premium, is quite common). The staff are very attentive, polite and helpful when I had requests and inquiries. They offer luggage storage service for 10RMB a day & 50 RMB. I felt safe to keep my belongings here for a further 10 days whilst I continued to travel. The beds are quite hard and firm, it made sleeping a bit uncomfortable but for the price that is offered to stay here, it can be overlooked. The entrance to the hostel is on the ground floor and you take an elevator up to floor 3 and walk straight across the bar area and into the living quarters. This can be a little confusing at first, especially when carrying your luggage through a vibrant and cheerful bar area. There is plenty of space and tables to work on in a comfortable location. There is no Air Conditioning in the main bar area so wrap up! But there is Air conditioning in the dorm rooms. A good size locker and comfortable quilt and pillow. I will stay again. The food by the chefs are delicious and carefully crafted. I thank you for the service
