"We were very happy with our stay at Riverdale Residence. The two-bedroom apartment was extremely comfortable for our family of five, as the unit was very spacious and well designed. The amenities were excellent and thoughtfully provided. The apartment came fully equipped with a washer-cum-dryer, microwave, oven, coffee machine, dishwasher, and a complete set of cutlery, which made our stay very convenient. Both the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, and we appreciated having a bathtub. There was ample space to open our luggage, generous wardrobe space for hanging clothes, a full-length mirror in the living room, and a dedicated cabinet for storing shoes. The living and dining area was also very comfortable, with a four-seater dining table where we enjoyed meals that we ordered in. The location is convenient, with Xintiandi within walking distance—about a 10-minute walk if you don’t mind a short stroll. Most importantly, the service staff were exceptionally helpful and polite throughout our stay. We were very impressed by their service and hospitality. We would definitely book Riverdale Residence again if we return to Shanghai."

"This hotel catches you a little off guard. When the car pulled up I thought I was in the wrong place. It gives very strong Air bnb/bed and breakfast vibes because that’s what it is. The ppl that run the place are very kind. The owner I assume, was very kind and very friendly. He went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. Even gave me cold medicine as I was struggling adjusting to Chinese fall weather and had a bad cold. The young man that worked evenings helped me order food and was a life saver because I had no way else to eat. The breakfast was minimal but tasty. Dumplings, boiled eggs and I think congee. I don’t like congee so I didn’t eat any. And I was always greeted with a smile from the lady cooking. The coffee isn’t great. Instant packets, very blah and nothing to drink really except water. There isn’t much nearby to do, it’s not walkable and so I would not stay if you’re looking for night life or convenience. But it’s a nice relaxing, quiet place to stay with a very comfy bed, nice tub, close enough to the airport and good shower pressure. I would definitely stay again."

"The location is unbeatable, right downstairs is the pedestrian street. A big thanks to Nina at the front desk who upgraded me to a high-floor room with a fantastic view. The breakfast was a rich and delicious mix of Western and Chinese options. The staff were all warm, polite, and provided excellent service. I even met a lovely staff member in the elevator who gave me a small souvenir. All in all, a really great experience that I'd be happy to recommend to friends."

"This hotel was a great choice for my trip to Shanghai. I brought my child from Beijing to celebrate their birthday at Disneyland, but we also wanted to consider our own interests (it's very close to The Bund and Nanjing Road, all within walking distance). I had initially booked another hotel, but after some deliberation, I finally settled on this one. We stayed for two days and had a wonderful experience. It was quiet and comfortable, and we really got a feel for life in the old alleyways, which is exactly what I enjoy – experiencing local life rather than a generic hotel. Later, I learned from the owner that this hotel has significant political history; Deng Xiaoping even stayed here for three months! Visiting the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party and learning about party history was also a key part of our itinerary, so it was a perfect fit!"

"My second stay here, and I'd like to highlight some pros. The location is absolutely fantastic. To the west, there are plenty of small eateries like Shilong Road Boat Noodles and Slow Snail. To the east, there's a Lianhua Supermarket, and right across from the hotel, you'll find a small park and a fruit stand. Being in Jing'an District, it has a wonderfully authentic city vibe, and it's also very close to Shanghai Railway Station. The room isn't huge, but it's incredibly comfortable. It’s quiet despite being in a bustling area, so I had excellent sleep. The service was impressive; I truly felt at home. The breakfast buffet is delicious, and I highly recommend the soft-boiled poached eggs. Also, I heard about their tasty wontons for supper during my first stay in 2020, but it took me a surprising six years to actually try them! In summary: If you're looking for a trip where you can truly enjoy life and immerse yourself in the city, I personally highly recommend this place."

"I had a fantastic stay at this apartment! The cleanliness was exceptional - from the reception area to the corridors, elevators, and rooms, everything was spotless and fresh-smelling. As a solo traveler, I pay close attention to these details, and I was thoroughly impressed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The room was tidy and comfortable, and the location was incredibly convenient, with a mall, coffee shops, and transportation options nearby. Plus, it's just a 20-minute Didi ride to The Bund. "After returning from Shanghai, I'm finally sitting down to write this review. It was even better than I imagined. I actually know this hotel not from other people's reviews, but because I've walked through it many times. Every time I go to Shanghai, I pass by the Grand Hyatt, and this time I decided to experience it for myself. The front desk staff were very polite and had my room ready early, even though it was a public holiday – there was no rush or panic at all. Of course, the best part is the location. Compared to staying in Pudong, being in the bustling North Bund, for me, is the most comfortable way to observe the city's glitz and glamour while still having a sense of peace. Everything was excellent, better than I expected. Honestly, I feel like they could charge more for all the aspects, but the Grand Hyatt always seems to have a humble attitude. See you next time! This will definitely be a hotel I return to again and again."

"Is the best location between Nanjing Road & Yuyuan Old Street. In front of hotel is the bund walking distance only 5 minutes. At night 6pm, from our hotel can view The Bund lighting up, is so so beautiful. Overthere is easy to call Didi as well. Yes, the hotel actually is based in the commercial/office building, only 7, 13 & 14 floor is hotel level. Others level consider office. So for hotel aircon is all centralised aircon, so cant adjust any aircon level as well. We feel a bit hot at night, somethings sweating. This is the weak point of the hotel. So overall this hotel was superb but just the aircon need to improved it. Thanks"

"Arrived early, and since my reserved twin room wasn't ready yet, the front desk upgraded me to a studio apartment, allowing for an immediate check-in. Coincidentally, it was located one floor below my friend's room, which was incredibly convenient for my visit. The room itself was clean and tidy. The all-in-one washer and dryer was very handy, and the shower room was well-designed. Overall, it was a very satisfying short trip. The staff were exceptionally friendly; the cleaning lady always greeted us with a smile and was clearly well-trained. I hosted several friends who came to visit, and they all complimented the room. My only minor complaint is that it's a tad far from the subway station, but it's within walking distance to the Wutong District and the art street district, which I really loved."

"Arrived quite late, but was upgraded to a room with a better view, and they even gave my child a Conrad teddy bear. The hotel's location is super convenient, right on Nanjing Road. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were all very polite. Breakfast offered a wide variety, catering to both northern and southern palates, and had some nice Shanghai specialties. Whenever I visit Shanghai again, the Conrad will definitely be my first choice."
