Shanghai Hotels with Bars

During my recent trip to Shanghai, I stayed at the Bellagio, the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund, and the St. Regis Jingan, and the Bellagio was by far my favorite. 1. I was completely won over by the hotel slippers and the minibar. The slippers have a non-slip sole and are very comfortable. The minibar is exquisitely arranged with sophisticated and beautiful glassware—it's an absolute feast for the eyes. 2. The front desk informed me that the minibar drinks are complimentary upon signing up as a hotel member. This is a very generous policy, especially since the other two hotels charged for them. 3. I was traveling with my 6-year-old child and should have paid for a children's breakfast. We also had a 21-yuan snack in the room, and I truthfully reported all of this at checkout. To my surprise, my full deposit was refunded without any extra charges. Thank you so much! 4. The room was spacious and very comfortable, featuring high-end amenities and a great bathtub. 5. The location is excellent. Although many people mind that it doesn't offer a direct view of the river, the Garden Bridge of Shanghai (Waibaidu Bridge) is just a few minutes' walk away, making it very convenient for a stroll along the riverfront. Summary: The Bellagio truly makes you feel at home. It's clear that they genuinely care about their service, rather than just chasing good reviews. Furthermore, none of the staff ever pressured me to leave a positive review.

We had such great luck on this trip, and booking the hotel went smoothly. Choosing the Pudong Shangri-La was definitely the right decision! The location is super convenient—it's very easy to take a stroll along the riverside, and heading over to Super Brand Mall for dining and walking with the kids is a breeze. Best of all, the hotel service is simply amazing! WALLE WANG, the young lady who helped us with the check-in process, was so lovely. Seeing that we were traveling with a toddler under three, she went out of her way to help us upgrade to a river-view suite. This was a wonderful surprise for our family of three visiting Shanghai for the very first time! The suite is spacious, and our little one was thrilled to run around. The cleanliness of the hotel gave us great peace of mind, and the room setup was delightful. We will definitely stay here again the next time we return to China.

To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, and the overall experience far exceeded our expectations. It truly deserves a five-star rating. The hotel's location and views are impeccable. Our room faced the Bund and the Huangpu River, offering an incredibly expansive view. Whether it was the morning sunshine or the dazzling night lights of Lujiazui, we could take it all in through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. The depth and breadth of the scenery were truly impressive. Secondly, a special thank you must go to Ms. Angela. Upon learning it was our wedding anniversary, she thoughtfully decorated our room. The attention to detail truly showcased the care and warmth of a luxury hotel, making our stay full of surprises and touching moments. From the room's hardware facilities to the welcoming service provided by all the 'Ladies and Gentlemen,' everything perfectly embodied the essence of the Ritz-Carlton. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai for a vacation or to celebrate a special occasion!

A month before the National Day holiday, I started planning our family trip with our 2.5-year-old. He's not really suited for crowded tourist spots, and as low-energy parents, we're not up for intense 'special forces' style parenting either. So, I opted for a 'staycation,' which is super popular on Xiaohongshu (xhs). I'd bookmarked several highly-rated family-friendly hotels, and Pudong Kerry stood out as the most satisfying from my research. It offered family rooms, a kids' playground, and direct access to a mall – incredibly convenient! I quickly booked a stay on Ctrip, full of anticipation. We checked in on the evening of the 3rd. The front desk lady was very polite and answered all my questions in detail. When I asked if an additional adult could accompany my child into the playground (the package included entry for one adult and one child, but I was worried I wouldn't have enough energy and we'd need to take turns looking after him 🤣), she agreed without hesitation. I'm really grateful for that, and it proved to be a lifesaver in the playground – we truly couldn't keep up with our child! He had an amazing time, and we parents were exhausted. Upon entering the room, we immediately saw the special tent, a highlight of the family suite. Forget kids, even I, a 30+ adult, wanted to crawl in and hang out for a bit! For the two days we stayed, this little tent became his 'secret base.' When we were relaxing in the hotel, he'd be in there watching Qiaohu (Chuckle) or playing with his toys. The hotel also gifted him a little kangaroo plushie. Wow, it completely won him over and became his 'best buddy.' Every night before bed, he'd ask, 'Where's my best buddy?' Hahaha, the innocence of a child really touches your heart every single moment. The kangaroo T-shirt was a bit big, but that's fine; he can wear it when he's older and we can come back to the Kerry Hotel again. During check-in, the bed rail and children's toiletries were all prepared, which was very thoughtful. The first round of the mini-bar was free, and they even provided cookies, which tasted pretty good. The only suggestion I have is that the bed rail felt a bit unstable. At the head of the bed, it was fine because of the cabinet propping it up, but the foot of the bed felt loose; if you nudged it slightly, it felt like it would fall. Later, I was worried he might roll off in the middle of the night if the rail gave way, so I stuffed pillows along the side of the rail, which solved the problem. Hotel breakfast is on the 1st floor. Booking a family room includes two breakfasts. The breakfast spread was extensive, with Chinese and Western options, noodles, wontons, bread, and pastries – everything you could want, and it all tasted good. Next to the kids' playground was a gym, which looked very good with plenty of equipment, but I didn't get to experience it as I was with my child. This trip was very satisfying, and I look forward to returning to the Kerry Hotel to unlock new experiences.

If you're looking to save money on your Disney trip, but still want to be close to the park and have a comfortable night's sleep, this hotel is a convenient and practical choice for a quick stay. 📍 **Location & Transportation** It's not far from Disney, and there's a shuttle service to and from the park, making it easy to get there early, watch the parades, and head back after finishing the rides. For guests on a tight schedule, this is the most crucial and practical aspect. 🛏️ **Room Experience** The rooms aren't huge, but they're well-equipped, including a capsule coffee machine, which is great for a refreshing cup in the morning. The view outside is a lush green suburban landscape, which isn't claustrophobic; instead, it's quite peaceful and pleasant to look at.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, and its blend of a magnificent historic building with East-meets-West interior design imbues every detail with profound depth and elegant charm. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering superb views of both sides of the Huangpu River. All the staff I encountered were well-trained, friendly, and provided efficient and attentive service. The breakfast buffet, featuring both Western and Chinese options, was abundant and authentic in taste. The Long Bar on the ground floor of the old building is highly recommended; it has been meticulously restored to its original appearance from a century ago, exuding a vintage yet exquisite ambiance. On Friday nights, live jazz musicians enhance the already fantastic atmosphere.

The river-view suite at The Peninsula Shanghai is undoubtedly the gold standard for a luxurious stay in the magic city. Situated in a prime location at the source of the Bund, the suite offers an unobstructed panoramic view of the winding Huangpu River and the dazzling Lujiazui skyline, featuring its iconic 'three-piece suit' of skyscrapers. Especially as night falls and the city lights up, enjoying this breathtaking night view from the comfort of your room or private terrace creates an incredibly immersive atmosphere. In terms of hardware, the suite perfectly blends understated luxury with retro charm. The spacious room design cleverly incorporates Art Deco style with old Shanghai aesthetics. A separate walk-in closet, a marble double bathtub, underfloor heating, and a highly tech-savvy bedside control panel all demonstrate an extreme pursuit of detail. Despite being open for over a decade, the hotel meticulously maintains its facilities, and the quality remains impeccable. Furthermore, the dining options within the hotel are not to be missed. Whether it's the exquisite cuisine at the Michelin-starred restaurants or the highly ceremonial English afternoon tea in the lobby, both offer an ultimate culinary delight. A stay in a river-view suite at The Peninsula Shanghai promises an unforgettable journey through luxury. Special thanks to the helpful young lady with glasses at the front desk (I was in a hurry to check in and forgot to ask her name) who kindly upgraded my reserved garden-view suite to a river-view suite for free. I also have a small suggestion: for example, the portion size of the waffles for breakfast is three times that of The Peninsula Beijing. It would be great if guests could be recommended à la carte options, as a smaller, more refined breakfast would reduce waste.

Even as Shanghainese, we absolutely love the Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund! Its location directly faces the Lujiazui 'three-piece suit' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers) and the Huangpu River. Watching the boats by day and the lights by night is just stunning. The room itself was spacious at 60 square meters – a truly excellent experience. Even while showering, you can still see the Lujiazui skyline, which is incredibly relaxing. The view of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower from the head of our bed at night was especially beautiful. The hotel's 13th-floor terrace is magnificent, definitely a must-visit spot for photos. I particularly want to thank the gentleman who assisted us; your warm service, thoughtfulness, and care deeply touched us as seniors. Thank you! Overall, the hotel's comfort, service, and comprehensive facilities are truly exceptional. We definitely have every reason to return! 😊🌹👍

The views from the W Shanghai - The Bund are simply incredible, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the Huangpu River and Lujiazui. The night views are especially stunning and make for great photos. The only downsides were that the mattress was a bit too soft, which made my back ache after a while, and the soundproofing in the room wasn't great. I could clearly hear noises from the hallway and next door, which disturbed my sleep at night. While the scenery is definitely the highlight and perfect for a visit to admire the view, those who prioritize a good night's sleep might want to consider other options.

On my annual leave, I traveled from Zhuhai to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shantou, Xiamen, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Nanjing, Suzhou, and finally Shanghai. This hotel in Shanghai was the most satisfying place my parents and I stayed during the entire trip. First, it's super close to the North Exit of Shanghai Station, just a few steps away – absolutely fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and thoughtful, even giving us breakfast vouchers, which was a very kind touch. Given the room rates, the value for money is exceptionally high! It was very quiet at night, ensuring a good sleep, and the room was well-equipped with all necessary appliances. Transportation is excellent with trains, long-distance buses, and the subway all nearby. It's also easy to hail a ride-sharing service right outside the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great, with excellent service from the staff and delicious food. Oh, and a special shout-out to the hairdryer and the smart toilet in the room – big thumbs up! We had a wonderful time enjoying a night cruise on the Huangpu River along the Bund. Due to its prime location right next to Shanghai Station, this hotel is a must-choose for any travelers needing to transfer or wanting to explore. The decor is new, and the service is top-notch! Highly recommended!
