Romantic Hotels in Shanghai

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It offers great value for money with high-end, upscale interior design and very comprehensive facilities. There's even a banquet hall and a massage parlor on the 2nd floor, making the stay extremely comfortable and relaxing. It's only 6.8 km away from Disneyland and just 500 meters from the nearest subway station. They also provide a very well-scheduled round-trip shuttle service. All in all, I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in the area. The breakfast is delicious and offers incredible value, and the staff are beyond amazing—so friendly. The rooms are fantastic and highly recommended. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends next time. Plus, there's a 24-hour supermarket right across the street and free parking available!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is well located, the room was very clean, and most of staff were friendly. We also enjoyed the convenience of the hotel’s delivery robot. The room was a little smaller than expected, especially for two people with medium suitcases, but it was exactly as pictured, so maybe I should have known better. The main downside was breakfast. It was quite crowded and noisy. Western breakfast options were very limited, which was a little disappointing since they were mentioned in the hotel description.

The hotel is clean, with a bright and spacious lobby. It's close to Pudong Airport, and the breakfast offers a good variety. The shuttle bus to Pudong Airport is convenient, making it ideal for travelers who need to stay one night and catch an early morning flight. The downsides are that the room had a smoke smell and there was some noise in the morning.

The hotel's location is truly fantastic, very close to Disney, making it super convenient for getting around and sightseeing ✨. The room's color scheme design is stylish, with a strong retro vibe. The color matching is high-end and comfortable, and the hardware facilities are complete, with spacious bathrooms. The common areas are very unique, and the giant bookshelf in the lobby is perfect for photos. The hotel grounds are beautiful, and you can even see cute alpacas. The overall experience was great, full of a resort feel, and very suitable for a Disney trip.

When I first browsed the listings, this room type was called the ”Honeycomb,” but it was listed as ”Lake View Residence” when I actually booked. It's right by the lake, across from the main building and next to the big dome structure. You can go fishing here. The cabin looks like three hexagonal honeycombs pieced together, allowing kids to climb up and down, which they absolutely loved. The ground floor upon entering is the living room, equipped with a TV. Opposite, connecting to the bedroom area, is a setup that doubles as cushioned seating and a mini climbing frame for kids to play on. The overall space isn't huge—you can even watch the TV while lying in bed on the upper level. The bathroom and bedroom share the same open space, so we had to be very careful when washing up to avoid splashing water onto the counter by the bed. You also need to watch out when showering, as water tends to leak through the door gaps. Going up another level takes you to the rooftop terrace, which was my favorite spot. It’s perfect for sitting quietly and taking in the views. This room type doesn't have an indoor bathtub, but it features an outdoor hot tub on the lawn outside. While soaking, we noticed the outdoor AC unit was quite loud, and we had to bring our own light at night. If you're looking for total privacy while soaking, this might not be for you. I also wouldn't recommend it in cold weather, as it gets chilly. Next door are two treehouses with slides, which feature en-suite bathrooms with bathtubs. There is a shuttle service to and from the main building; you can just contact your butler whenever you need a ride. Honestly, offering a boat check-in experience would make it even more fun 😏. It’s best suited for sunny days—you can stargaze using the in-room telescope, and using the outdoor tub is much more convenient. The service was attentive, breakfast had a great spread, and there were plenty of activities for kids.

A month before the National Day holiday, I started planning our family trip with our 2.5-year-old. He's not really suited for crowded tourist spots, and as low-energy parents, we're not up for intense 'special forces' style parenting either. So, I opted for a 'staycation,' which is super popular on Xiaohongshu (xhs). I'd bookmarked several highly-rated family-friendly hotels, and Pudong Kerry stood out as the most satisfying from my research. It offered family rooms, a kids' playground, and direct access to a mall – incredibly convenient! I quickly booked a stay on Ctrip, full of anticipation. We checked in on the evening of the 3rd. The front desk lady was very polite and answered all my questions in detail. When I asked if an additional adult could accompany my child into the playground (the package included entry for one adult and one child, but I was worried I wouldn't have enough energy and we'd need to take turns looking after him 🤣), she agreed without hesitation. I'm really grateful for that, and it proved to be a lifesaver in the playground – we truly couldn't keep up with our child! He had an amazing time, and we parents were exhausted. Upon entering the room, we immediately saw the special tent, a highlight of the family suite. Forget kids, even I, a 30+ adult, wanted to crawl in and hang out for a bit! For the two days we stayed, this little tent became his 'secret base.' When we were relaxing in the hotel, he'd be in there watching Qiaohu (Chuckle) or playing with his toys. The hotel also gifted him a little kangaroo plushie. Wow, it completely won him over and became his 'best buddy.' Every night before bed, he'd ask, 'Where's my best buddy?' Hahaha, the innocence of a child really touches your heart every single moment. The kangaroo T-shirt was a bit big, but that's fine; he can wear it when he's older and we can come back to the Kerry Hotel again. During check-in, the bed rail and children's toiletries were all prepared, which was very thoughtful. The first round of the mini-bar was free, and they even provided cookies, which tasted pretty good. The only suggestion I have is that the bed rail felt a bit unstable. At the head of the bed, it was fine because of the cabinet propping it up, but the foot of the bed felt loose; if you nudged it slightly, it felt like it would fall. Later, I was worried he might roll off in the middle of the night if the rail gave way, so I stuffed pillows along the side of the rail, which solved the problem. Hotel breakfast is on the 1st floor. Booking a family room includes two breakfasts. The breakfast spread was extensive, with Chinese and Western options, noodles, wontons, bread, and pastries – everything you could want, and it all tasted good. Next to the kids' playground was a gym, which looked very good with plenty of equipment, but I didn't get to experience it as I was with my child. This trip was very satisfying, and I look forward to returning to the Kerry Hotel to unlock new experiences.

From the moment I stepped into the room, I was impressed by the attention to detail. The bedding had a high thread count, feeling luxurious yet breathable. The sofa by the window was perfectly angled to offer a fantastic view of the city skyline, and even the lighting was gently adjusted to be soft and non-glaring. The biggest pleasant surprise was being offered a complimentary late check-out until 2 PM. This meant I could leisurely enjoy breakfast and then relax in the room for a bit longer without rushing to pack up. This unhurried, relaxed feeling, free from any pressure, truly is the most luxurious experience when traveling.

Location: The hotel boasts an exceptional location, situated in the Jin Mao Tower, one of the 'Lujiazui Trio,' right next to the Shanghai Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center. The hotel's design seamlessly blends Eastern aesthetics with Western architectural beauty, exuding both old-money charm and luxurious style. All hotel staff are also bilingual in Chinese and English. Experience: Our entire stay was fantastic. Since it was my birthday, Mia from Guest Services specially arranged a room upgrade for us. From the room, we could see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Bund, and even the Magnolia Plaza across the river in North Bund. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the light show from here during the National Day holiday. Mia and her colleagues also prepared a Tiramisu birthday cake and flowers for me, for which I am truly grateful. Pool and Spa facilities: The indoor swimming pool's water quality was exceptionally clear, easily ranking among the top three of all the hotels I've visited. The sauna and cold plunge bath I experienced afterward were also excellent. The only area for improvement is that there was no discount for in-house guests at the hotel's buffet lunch. Even so, we will still choose to stay at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai on our next visit to Shanghai. Mia's professionalism and hospitality deserve commendation from the hotel and serve as an example for other service staff. Many thanks to the Grand Hyatt Shanghai 🙏🏻

Even as Shanghainese, we absolutely love the Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund! Its location directly faces the Lujiazui 'three-piece suit' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers) and the Huangpu River. Watching the boats by day and the lights by night is just stunning. The room itself was spacious at 60 square meters – a truly excellent experience. Even while showering, you can still see the Lujiazui skyline, which is incredibly relaxing. The view of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower from the head of our bed at night was especially beautiful. The hotel's 13th-floor terrace is magnificent, definitely a must-visit spot for photos. I particularly want to thank the gentleman who assisted us; your warm service, thoughtfulness, and care deeply touched us as seniors. Thank you! Overall, the hotel's comfort, service, and comprehensive facilities are truly exceptional. We definitely have every reason to return! 😊🌹👍

This hotel offers incredible value for money! I was surprised to find a pool and hot springs, and the room was quite spacious. While the immediate area isn't super convenient, ordering food delivery was easy, and the robot delivery was quick. The environment is absolutely lovely – surrounded by lush greenery, and the entire complex is very quiet. It was a fantastic staycation. My only minor complaint is that the breakfast could be better, and you have to pay upfront if you want to add it, you can't charge it to your room, which isn't very convenient. Finally, a big thank you to the hotel for the room upgrade, which really helped with accommodating my older child.
