"The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the free section of Xixi Wetland. It's also very close to the transfer point for Lingyin Temple. It's incredibly quiet, and the soundproofing is great – even during the May Day holiday, it didn't feel noisy. However, there are two things I was unhappy with. First, most of the breakfast dishes had chili, which isn't very kid-friendly. Second, the breakfast really wasn't good. Why would you boil corn in milk? And the fried eggs all looked completely different. Breakfast was truly subpar. Also, the air conditioning system in the room wasn't good. It was noisy and blew a strong, dry draft, and the cooling effect was mediocre. Plus, there was no constant temperature system. If these two points were improved, it would be excellent. The bed was very comfortable."

The Redstar Culture Hotel (Hongxing Wenhua Dasha) is an elegant hotel located on the eastern section of West Lake Avenue. The hotel is within walking West Lake, Hangzhou's most popular attraction. There are a variety of beautifully-furnished rooms, some of which offer spectacular views over West Lake. Business, Eye Hospital of Zhejiang University ,executive and non-smoking floors are available. When it comes to dining, there are both Chinese and Western restaurants on the first and second floor of this Hangzhou hotel. For business travelers, the hotel has a business center and a wide selection of meeting and conference rooms.During their spare time, guests can play chess or poker, exercise in the gym, or melt away stress by getting a massage.

"Even though I saw some reviews online mentioning the facilities were old, I decided to take a chance and book it anyway. To my surprise, my stay was fantastic! The room was spotless, and not nearly as old as some reviews suggested. The walls and bathroom were very clean with no strange odors. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too firm – making for a very comfortable sleep. The hotel reception staff were also great. The location is excellent too; it's very close to the subway station and within walking distance of Hefang Street and Wuliu Lane. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, including Laotou Youbao Xia and Fang Laoda, which are also not far. The hotel breakfast was very rich and varied. If I get the chance to visit Hangzhou again, I'll most likely choose this place."

"I booked this room for my elderly parents. I messaged them on WeChat in advance, and the hotel staff were incredibly accommodating. My parents aren't very familiar with travel routes, so a big thanks to the front desk ladies for helping them with recommendations for places to visit. The hotel is very close to the subway station, which made it super convenient to get everywhere. The value for money was also excellent. My family had a wonderful time and a very comfortable stay. Next time we have a chance to visit Hangzhou with family, we will definitely choose this hotel again. The service was absolutely fantastic! 👍👍"

GGuest UserThe Xihu State Guest Hotel, nestled on West Lake's western side, offers a prime view of the Su Causeway. Its setting is undoubtedly top-notch, arguably the best garden in West Lake. Early in the morning, I went for a jog, starting from Building No. 1 along the lake, past Yanggong Causeway, turning into the Flower Harbor Viewing Fish Park, over Suolan Bridge and Wangshan Bridge, running through 'Spring Dawn at Su Causeway' and 'Curved Yard and Lotus Pool in Summer'. The scenery along the way was delightful, leaving me feeling refreshed both physically and mentally. The staff were very attentive, always smiling and greeting me when they passed by. Dinner at the Ziwei Hall was excellent; the classic West Lake Vinegar Fish and Longjing Shrimp were consistently good and met my expectations. In the afternoon, when I was heading out, they even proactively asked if I needed turn-down service, which I really appreciated!

GGuest UserMy expectations were fully met, and the hotel lived up to the hype. The only minor drawback is that check-in isn't until 3:30 PM (though earlier check-in is possible if rooms are available), but this hotel is just incredibly popular. The hotel boasts numerous rooms with an exceptionally high occupancy rate and a variety of room types. Stepping inside, there's a magical sense of calm. For the same price, you might only get a standard room in Shanghai, but here we enjoyed a lake view suite. The service was also top-notch; my family felt right at home, praising the hospitality. It was money well spent. Even during the holiday, the swimming pool and hot spring weren't overcrowded, which speaks to excellent management, as reservations are required. Since it's winter, swimming was a bit chilly. However, there's also a sizable, slightly warmer children's pool area, which is absolutely fantastic.

GGuest UserThis hotel is quite unique and well-suited for business travelers or tourists. Check-in was convenient, and the room was well-equipped. The lobby is spacious and bright, and the room itself was comfortable and cozy. They even provide face wash, toner, and lotion, which was a nice touch. Overall, my stay was very pleasant and I'm quite satisfied. You can contact Wangyue for bookings.

GGuest UserPretty good, this is my third time here. Service: I'd like to praise the service. Environment: Quite good. Cleanliness: Very good. [Please note: The emoji-filled section seems like a meme or an expression of intense emotion rather than a literal review. I've omitted a direct translation of that part as it doesn't convey practical information about the hotel in English and would appear out of place in a review.]

GGuest UserOn-site photoshoot: I managed to book this hotel photoshoot in Hangzhou, cleverly avoiding the May Day rush. This was, without a doubt, the most professional photographer I've ever met. This female photographer understood composition, lighting, and even guided me on posing. She had an excellent eye for showcasing the harmony of body movements and was incredibly familiar with the location. The entire shoot, from start to finish, took only 15 minutes! She also meticulously attended to details that women often care about, like the curve of a skirt or the angle of a prop. Truly the most thoughtful and professional photographer I've encountered! Her editing aesthetic was also top-notch, exactly my style. I've never met a photographer whose editing so perfectly matched my preferences. From start to finish, the editing process took only 15 minutes, fulfilling all my post-production requests (no over-editing, no over-exposure, just natural color restoration). I truly believe this is what a real photographer should be like! The customer service representative I connected with via WeChat was also wonderful, patiently helping me select photos. I love Hangzhou, I love this hotel, and I especially love the photographer arranged by this hotel. The money was incredibly well spent, I'm so happy!! **Environment:** The hotel's overall landscaping is exceptionally well done, with beautiful scenery everywhere. We stayed in the villa area, which was incredibly quiet, free from any construction or noise. The hotel's internal amenities are also very comprehensive and high-end. **Service:** The service was excellent. Our luggage was heavy, but the shuttle bus driver helped us carry it up the steps to the hotel. Plus, the shuttle service is available 24 hours, which is incredibly convenient. This level of service is truly the best I've seen for a thousand-yuan-level hotel. **Facilities:** The facilities are very complete – afternoon tea, breakfast, swimming pool, gym, you name it, they have it. And the view from the gym is absolutely stunning.

GGuest UserAlthough it is a four-star hotel, I feel that it is not much different from a five-star hotel, and the breakfast is also good. I feel that the service is particularly good. Because of the need, I asked for delayed check-out twice, and they agreed very quickly. In addition, the front desk waiters, one is Xiao Lu and the other is Xiao Wei, took the initiative to greet me when I returned to the hotel in the middle, asked me if I applied for delay, and updated my room card.

AAnonymous UserOverall, this was a good stay with some truly special aspects, but also a few areas that could be improved. The hotel is quite remote, which makes it feel very private and peaceful, surrounded by nature such as the lake, forest, and mountains. Even though we visited other viewpoints around Qiandao Lake, this location felt more special because of its quiet and secluded setting. The hotel itself feels like a destination, with scenic viewpoints, a garden with a lake, a cave, and even trekking trails to explore. The garden area includes a swan lake, which is a nice idea. However, the swans are kept in a very small netted space. It does not look great visually and feels restrictive for the animals, which took away from the experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed that was not too soft or too hard. Sound insulation was excellent, which made for great sleep. I also requested a firmer pillow, and it was provided quickly. The lake view room upgrade was a highlight. The view was stunning and made it hard to leave the room. If you stay here, I would strongly recommend booking a lake view room. The layout was nice, with both a balcony and a window view. The thick frame dividing the view slightly affected the overall feel, but it was not a major issue. The bathtub was also a nice addition. Cleaning was good overall. The AC did not work very well during the hot midday hours, although it was fine at other times of the day. Facilities such as the gym, yoga room, pool, and game room were nice additions. However, they felt quite standard for a five-star hotel, and I have experienced better quality in similar properties. One great feature was the free Tesla charging, but this was not communicated at all. We only discovered it by chance, which is a missed opportunity as it is a strong benefit. Breakfast was acceptable but not at the expected level. The coffee and bakery were the weakest parts. Ordering is done via QR code instead of in person, which felt a bit impersonal for a luxury hotel atmosphere. Service during breakfast also felt a bit off, as staff seemed focused on their tasks and were not very proactive in guiding or prioritizing guests, which made the experience feel less warm and not the kindest. Service was generally kind and friendly, but inconsistent at times. Some staff could benefit from additional training, as not everyone followed typical five-star service standards such as greeting guests or offering priority. Another disappointment was the welcome fruit, which was included in our package but not provided on arrival. After we asked, a staff member came carrying items for multiple rooms in a bag and handed us just one apple and one peach. This felt unprofessional although something very small. Another point worth noting is that the hotel was originally booked as an InterContinental, but about 1-2 weeks before arrival it was no longer part of the brand (somehow on Trip.com it still says intercontinental). Not sure if this impacted the experience, but overall it did feel slightly below what you might expect from that level, even though the stay itself was still enjoyable. The hotel also offers free Tesla charging, which is a great feature. However, this was not communicated at all during or before our stay, and we only discovered it by chance. This feels like a missed opportunity, as it is a strong benefit that could add significant value for guests I did not try lunch or dinner, so I cannot comment on those. Overall, this is a very peaceful and unique stay with amazing natural surroundings and a beautiful lake view. However, some service and operational details need improvement to truly match a luxury standard.

SShuangshuangxiaomayiXixi Wetland in May is absolutely breathtaking, like a fairyland. We spent the weekend at the Banyan Tree, a classic luxury hotel, and stepping into the lobby felt like entering a Jiangnan fairytale! Our butler, Olive, provided exceptional service; she contacted us before arrival with a warm greeting and thoughtfully upgraded our room. The room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with a well-designed layout and classical aesthetics. Enjoying tea on the balcony while admiring the view was incredibly pleasant! The charm of the details was evident everywhere, from the tea sets and welcome fruit to the exquisite bookmarks and little gift of pastries. All the staff were incredibly warm and polite. The electric buggy service for short transfers was very convenient. Breakfast was refined, rich, and delicious. After breakfast, we took a lovely stroll around the hotel, watching the fish and ducks play in the water. We had a wonderful holiday!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is impeccable, directly facing the core scenic area of West Lake. It's just a few minutes' walk to the lakeside, making early morning and evening strolls incredibly pleasant. The service, from the front desk reception to the room service, is professional and enthusiastic, with meticulous attention to detail that makes you feel truly valued. The Executive Club (Jia Bin Xuan) is located on the 8th floor and features an outdoor terrace with direct views of West Lake – perfect for watching the sunset in the evening and the musical fountain at night, offering an exceptional experience. The rooms are comfortable and equipped with TWG tea bags, Balmain amenities, and Dyson hairdryers, showing thoughtful attention to detail. The Executive Club provides freshly squeezed juices all day, and during happy hour, there's a rich selection of hot dishes and desserts, which can serve as a light meal. Overall, whether it's the location, views, service, or quality, this hotel sets a benchmark among Hangzhou hotels. It's highly recommended for vacations or high-quality travel, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Hangzhou!
